Date of Scene: 18 August 2022
Location: Seaside Victorian House
Synopsis: What questions get answered for a blind woman in the middle of the night?
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Jason Blood

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Jason opens the portal to the kitchen and it's dark. Probably because Morrigan is upstairs. The knight does hear the loud chirble of Occam before there is a loud 'thunk' onto the kitchen counter. The cat jumping down from his perch on the top of the fridge to the kitchen island. His big gold eyes sort of glow in the low lights from the back patio. He reaches out to bat at Jason's arm in a gentle manner with his huge paws.

Morrigan's realized where Jason showed up at and there is a momentary panic, "Oh no..." she whispers as she navigates from her bedroom door to the top of the stairs. "Occam didn't try to jump on your head when you portaled in, did he?" she calls downstairs.

Jason Blood has posed:
In retrospect, while the question "Would you like to come over?" for most people _does_ imply an invitation, usually that invitation infers time in transit. It is only as Jason arrives mere moments after that invitation is received that it occurs to him that perhaps he should have at the very least replied with "I will be right there", which in his case means literally right there. Most people would have used a car, or a bike, or their feet. But if one has access to teleportation magic, why would not one use it?

So when he is swatted at in surprise by the cat, he lets loose a shriek of surprise. Not the most manly of moments, to say the least.

Looking up as Morrigan calls down to him, Jason takes a moment to compose himself. "No, of course not." While clearly he did.

Whenever he hears that duty calls,
Jason runs to the booty calls,
But if in alarm he screams like a wussy,
He won't be the one that gets the--

"ETRIGAN!!"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan settles herself down at the top of the stairs and she listens, "He likes attacking intruders from the top of the fridge, so I was going to warn you of that." she muses. Occam himself gives a trill to Jason and then hops down to disappear down the hallway towards the stairs. "If you're uncomfortable with being upstairs I can come down there and things?" she offers to the man.

Then he shouts Etrigan's name and Morrigan hurries down the stairs in a quick way, almost missing the last one entirely given her sight, "Are you alright?" she asks him as she stands there in the dim lit hallway. Navigating at night was not something she did a lot down here.

Jason Blood has posed:
Moving quickly as he hears Morrigan coming down the stairs, Jason is quick to answer. "No no, it is fine, I just..." He makes it to the bottom of the stairs just as Morrigan does and he reaches out to help steady her as she nearly misses. "Sorry to alarm you, I was surprised by Occam and Etrigan decided to say something...inappropriate." Jason's cheeks are a little bit flushed.

He is wearing a slightly dressed down version of his typical attire - well tailored dress pants and a button down shirt. But no jacket and no tie. Informal Jason, apparently. He smiles at Morrigan as he takes a breath. "I apologize for not responding to your message, and for presuming you wanted me to come right away. I should have checked."

She knows what you can do,
            It's time you began to
            Realize that what she desires,
Is the same thing your heart aspires,
So just stop with the time wasting
And get to the ... wine tasting.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan doesn't startle as hands steady her. She wasn't thinking that someone else had gotten into the house, "He's a brat, I apologize for his bad manners." she tells him in regards to Occam. "Nothing to apologize over. I've gotten startled by him as well." she admits. "And it's a new area and it's dark. So I can imagine large black cats don't really figure into things encountered off the bat." she tells him.

Then there is a soft smile, "No, I'm fine with you using portals to arrive. Beats an uber in the middle of the night or driving on your own." she states to that. She lets her hand slide up his arm and there's a chuckle, "I wasn't going to tell you to come over right now unless you wanted to. I'm patient on things. I could have waited had you other things you were doing." she explains.

"But I am glad that you are here now." she admits quietly after a moment.

Jason Blood has posed:
"It is his house, he was only defending you as I would if someone arrived unceremoniously." Jason sighs gently as he makes sure that Morrigan is properly settled. "I will get used to the house if I end up coming around more frequently." Although thrice in the past week was certainly frequent by comparison.

"Why would I delay if the invitation was made? I was delighted to receive it." Jason takes a soft breath and nods.

"I am glad that I am here, too." He reaches up to brush a hand against her cheek for a moment. "I rather enjoy being here," he admits.

            Do it!
            Cue it
            Into it!
            SCREW IT!

He gives a pronounced sigh and slowly shakes his head at something. "Come, let us move from the stairs. What was it that you wanted to do? Sit and talk? Share some wine? Let me guide you to where you wanted to go."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's smile is a bit warmer as he speaks, "I have two knights then." she tells him with a nod to that. She seemed fine though. "I was going to see if you wanted to curl up in bed and watch a movie or something. School starts next week so I was trying to wring out the last little bits of Summer before we all go back to crazy schedules." she admits to him.

"You're always welcome here, Jason. I think you'd like the house and well, I don't know, old Victorian homes by the sea seem to fit us magical types." she muses to that. "How about we sit in the living room for a bit? I was going to throw on JAWS and drink some wine. But we can find something else to watch...or well, for you to watch and for me to listen to mainly." she chuckles.

"Though I can see a bit better tonight." she admits. His sigh is noted and she reaches to squeeze his hand, "What is your roomie commenting on?" she asks.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason is quiet, listening as Morrigan outlines her ideas.

            Are you blind?
            Or out of your mind?
            Don't be antsy!
            She can't see
            Yet she wants to be
            In a bed with you,
            To watch with no view?

Jason sighs, returning the squeeze of the hand. "I suspect that he is actually the wiser of the two of us tonight, and has been for a time, if we are being honest. He is just going about it in the crudest way possible, as he is wont to do." He takes a breath, and looks to Morrigan. "I would be happy to enjoy a movie with you, wherever you feel most comfortable taking it in."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan ahs at his words when he explains that Etrigan is being a crude one. "I guess I could see where he's coming from given I invited you over in the middle of the night and ladies didn't generally do that as it was seen as untoward." she admits. "If you want to grab a bottle of wine out of the fridge for us? Or there is honey mead in there. My mom got me a bottle last year and I never got to it." she muses.

"I'll tackle the getting the movie going. You are alright with a man-eating shark, right?" she gives a bright smile to that. She was still in her nightgown and robe, so she looked completely ready to get comfortable again. "Occam is out of the kitchen so he won't be attacking anything else thankfully." she points out to him.

Jason Blood has posed:
"I told him he had your intentions wrong," replies Jason, his eyes focused clearly on Morrigan's face. Was it a bit of gamesmanship on his part to gauge her reaction to that? Perhaps. But he wanted, above all else, to _actually_ know her intentions, so he could behave accordingly. He was, after all, a gentleman, and the code he lived by was literally the one for which today's common courtesy was named - Chivalry. "A good honey mead sounds lovely." He slips away to retrieve it.

"As long as it will not leap from the screen to consume us, then yes, I will be fine with it." he calls back over his shoulder. He looks for a moment to confirm that Occam is in fact no longer present and possibly stalking him, and then retrieves the mead before turning and heading back to follow Morrigan. "Are there any other dangers within the house that I should be aware of? Anything or anyone else who may be attacking me?" He gives her a wry smile.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"If he thinks this is a booty call, then yes, he got it wrong." Morrigan tells him. "I'd never call you over in the middle of the night for just sex or something like that." she admits to that. "But I also didn't call you over so you'd sit on the edge of the couch and be all rigid either. I want to be close to you and enjoy your presence if that is alright?" she asks him.

She lets him go to get the mead as she finds her way into the living room. The couch already has pillows and a blanket, which means she's probably slept their recently. "No, no sharks jumping out." she laughs at that. "It's just one of those movies that I put on when I'm not sure what else to watch." she admits. "And no, Occam is the only danger until I start pulling out Halloween decorations." she grins to that.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood says, "A booty call is sex?" Jason seems to be a bit surprised at that.

            HAHAHAHA.
            HAHAHAHA.
Somehow to me it always astounds
How deep your folly in these matters abounds.

He drifts over towards the couch with the mead and two glasses, and sets all three objects on a convenient perch as he moves to settle down in the couch next to Morrigan. "What are the dangers posed by your Halloween decorations? Forewarned is forearmed." Is the question designed to show his commitment to be around longer than he was last time? Perhaps."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan looks up towards Jason's voice when his comes back into the room and her cheeks flush, "I mean, it's one of the terms that has been put towards when someone calls just specifically for that." she tells him. When he settles into the couch next to her she bumps her shoulder against his softly, "Thank you." she whispers to him.

"I have a giant animatronic spider that goes up on the roof. That's one of the biggest dangers. Then there's just all the pumpkins that need to be carved and candles put in them." she grins to that. "So mainly it's just a lot of work." she admits. "Do you want the light off?" she asks him.

Jason Blood has posed:
"You realize that that is not the only objective that one might have to come over and spend time with someone, yes?" offers Jason, as he settles against her. He turns and smiles, reaching out find her hand. "For what?"

"Does the spider came to life and attack us?" It is hard to tell if he is kidding with that dry British delivery. "It sounds as if it is work, but for a worthwhile ends and enjoyable at that." He pauses, and then adds, "I would like to help you with that, if you wish for me to."

The light being off would certainly help,
If the story you behold makes her yelp,
The darkness would improve your chance,
If you wish to get inside her pants.

Jason sighs out deeply. By now, Morrigan has likely picked up on the signs of when his reaction is to the voice in his head. "That sounds perfect."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives him a smile, "I do realize that. But a lot of others think it's weird to have company over in the middle of the night, given I didn't get to go outside during the day when I was little and was mostly nocturnal, I don't have that thought." she admits. When he takes her hand she gives his a gentle squeeze, "For coming. For being here now." she tells him.

"It drops down from the roof when people come close to the web that goes with it, so kind of. It's made to be more of a jump scare than anything else." she grins at that. "But no, it hasn't wandered off and attacked anyone as of yet." the Irish woman muses.

"It takes a few days to get everything set up, but I think it is worth it. The kids enjoy it during the holiday." she smiles to that. "I'd love for you to help with set up." she states as she looks to him. She squeezes his hand as he sighs again and she settles back against the couch, "Lights off." she tells her phone. Thankfully smart house set up helped majorly during this blindness. "Have you seen JAWS before?" she asks him.

Jason Blood has posed:
"Well, I suppose that would explain things, yes." Jason chuckles for a moment and settles against her, nodding. "Of course. No need to thank me. I am delighted to do so."

            Ignore the words she speaks,
Watch instead to learn what she seeks.
The mortals call this playing hard to get,
Did her prior interest you forget?

Turning to regard Morrigan, Jason arches an eyebrow. "Has it not scared anyone into attacking it yet?" He chuckles. "Good that you have warned me, it would be a shame to consign it to a life in hell." Is he joking? Maybe.

He nods slowly, and releases his hand to slide that arm around her shoulder, but reaches over with his other hand to take hers up again. So much for the mead, apparently. "Then I shall help, as you wish." He turns his gaze towards the screen. "No, although I heard that it was quite popular in its day."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a bit of a look in his direction, "I think it's polite to thank people when they are helping." she tells him. "I don't think anyone has tried to attack it as of yet, but, that doesn't mean that kids haven't thrown rocks or something and I've missed it." she muses to that. "Hmmm, I might not talk to you for a few days if you did that." she teases him gently.

She snuggles into his side, her blurred vision trying to make out what's on the screen for the most part. Her fingers thread through his and there is a calm that washes over her. "I wanted to be a marine biologist for a long stretch of time. Sadly one of those things involves being able to deal with the sun. Though I do sometimes wonder if I could have just studied sharks at night and just stuck with it." she admits. "It's aged well and the dialogue is memorable. It's good to put on when you just need background noise." she tells him.

Jason Blood has posed:
Laughing, Jason shakes his head. "If you stopped talking to me, I would send Etrigan to get it and bring it back."

I am not your errand boy!
r    Certainly not to retrieve a toy.
But I actually like this one you have found.
So for HER I would play your seeking hound.

Jason blinks for a moment, and his mouth kind of falls half open. Then he closes it. He is for a moment glad that Morrigan's vision is not so acute, and perhaps she missed his reaction.

"I am sure you could have studied fine at night. Or in the depths of the ocean, where the suns rays cannot pierce. I have heard there are quite beautiful wonders there, if you know where to look." He turns to look at Morrigan, and for a moment just sits there, watching her contentedly.

If she just wants it for the background noise,
That means the main event is your boys!

Jason closes his eyes and sighs.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a soft smile to that, "He's going to complain if you send him to hell to find someones banished animatronic." she giggles to that. And she did miss the mouth open moment. Damn this blindness! There is a nod to him, "Yeah, there is a lot of research that happens at night or in the depths. Hell, if I wanted to pick up another degree I could do it. There's still eighty-five percent of the ocean that's not been researched." she explains.

She can feel him watching her and there is a softer look that touches her features, "What do you want out of life, Jason...besides Etrigan to shush long enough to give you some breathing room?" she asks him.

Jason Blood has posed:
"Oh, actually..." Jason thinks for a moment. "He said he would do it." He turns and looks at Morrigan. "He says he likes you." And then he pauses. "I don't actually think he can lie, so if he is saying that, I believe it's the truth."

She raises a good question. Jason thinks for a moment on the answer.

            YOU!
            YEW!
            EWE!
            YOU!

Jason sighs.

            Tell her what I said
And for a week I'll leave your head!

That is an offer to good to turn down. Jason takes a breath, looking at Morrigan, and does what Etrigan bids him. "You."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a soft smile to Jason when he says that Etrigan likes her, "He didn't attempt to eat me the first time we met and was rather quick-witted with his words, so I've never really had a problem with him." she tells him. She doesn't know what the conversation is in his head, so she can't hear Etrigan. Otherwise she might be laughing a bit. Or she might offer him pompoms.

That one simple word has more of an effect that he might know in the moment as it causes Morrigan to completely forget about the movie and the blurry vision. Her hand moves from his, reaching up to find his cheek so that her fingers can trace over it before she leans in to press a soft kiss to his lips.

Jason Blood has posed:
"He has his moments," replies Jason, with a dry tone. "But he has never told me has liked _anyone_ before, other than a few times when he has extolled the virtues of some enemies to annoy me." Jason laughs softly. "He has the strangest opinions of people sometimes."

When Jason feels her hand at his cheek, he tilts his head slightly, but he was not expecting her lips to find his. Nonetheless, he reacts without freezing, and he leans forward just a touch, returning the kiss softly.

I know that I made you a promise,
And my honor I will not hold amiss,
But I want to say of you I am proud!
My voice you will not hear so loud,
I told you that you should listen,
Thank me later for this I did hasten.
