- Emma Frost has posed:
It's currently late in the evening. Emma Frost is leaving the Hellfire Club and is talking over on a phone. She muses over and goes to speak, "Thank you, Carl, for the financial data. I'll review it before we make our offer. I'm willing to negotiate on it but before I do I want to see how solid their administrative base is. Try and have some of our people talk to the ones in middle management and see if you can figure out who the weak links are."
Shewould walk along then after folding her phone up and shutting it off.
- Selene Gallio has posed:
A long black car pulls up and a male chauffeur comes out and quickly opens the rear door, allowing Selene Gallio to step out onto the street. She wears an elegant black dress with provocative decolletage, a necklace of small silver skulls around her throat and a massive ruby ring on her left hand. Her eyes are hidden behind sunglasses, her black hair sweeping down to spill across her mostly bare shoulders. She has been absent from the Hellfire Club in recent days, having only just returned not very long ago.
She pauses to regard Emma on the street, the barely concealed sneer on her face obvious. "Emma," she says simply.
- Emma Frost has posed:
And who is it coming out but her old adversary? Emma Frost would turn over to glance at Selene, "Why hello there. Shame it's so late, if you were out in the sun I would hope that you caught fire." Emma's mental shields are up to full force as a standby. She was well aware of what Selene could do.. Especially when the other woman got bored and decided it was playtime.
- Selene Gallio has posed:
Selene Gallio doesn't even poke at those shields, fully expecting them to be in place. The servant waits patiently and will hold the door to the club open as long as Selene remains outside, no matter how long it might take.
"I see your wit remains as impotent and ill-conceived as ever. How are you enjoying peasantdom?"
- Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would cross her arms, "Why, I would hardly call it that. I just decided that it wasn't worth playing to someone else's puppet show. Do you still do a song and dance routine whenever Shaw asks you to perform?"
- Selene Gallio has posed:
Selene Gallio laughs softly, her red lips curling back from her teeth, "It's best that you're out of the game, Emma, given how clearly incompetent you are at it. If you think Shaw owns me, you weren't paying attention at all. Probably distracted crying for all the poor persecuted mutants," she says.
- Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would just smirk over at Selene, "Why, I don't think it. I'm very sure of it. So what do you do for your own sake beyond sitting behinda crystal ball asking the mirror on the wall who's the prettiest of them all?" She would taunt.
- Selene Gallio has posed:
Selene Gallio keeps a hand on her hip, "Your certainty, of course, is the surest sign of your disconnect from reality," she says. "The foolish are always utterly convinced of their own abilities, despite all evidence to the contrary. And if you think my witchcraft a joke, I can give you a tour of the graves of others who've thought the same."
- Emma Frost has posed:
Oh, how lovely. "Why Selene, I hardly knew you cared so much. And my impression of your reality is that you have the attention span of a child and the temper tantrums to match. I suppose if we must agree on something it's that Shaw keeps you entertained with shiny objects."
- Selene Gallio has posed:
Selene Gallio cocks her head, "Oh, I don't care at all. About you or any of the other worms that crawl around this city. Except to look forward to the day when you're all beautifully rotted," she says.
"And yes, I do find Shaw entertaining. And nothing shines like blood. Perhaps I'll spill a little in your honor tonight. Find a vapid, spoiled blonde and slit her throat. I'll make sure her ragged spirit knows to thank you for her slaughter."
- Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost's eyes would flash over at Selene, but so would her sneer, "Why, I hardly knew you cared. Are we getting so desperate as to start making petty threats against completely random entities? How childlike of you. You merely prove my presumptions about you, Selene. Here we are talking and you're on the verge of having a little trantrum. Thank you for proving my point with hardly any effort."
- Selene Gallio has posed:
Selene Gallio shakes her head, "Of course I'm petty. I am petty and vain. I am cruel and unfeeling. I don't want to hurt you because I care or because you're a threat. I want to hurt you, dear Emma, because it's funny. I never need a reason to make anyone die for me. It is my essence, my raison d'etre. I am the Queen of Death and was so millenia before the Hellfire Club was a twinkle in an old pervert's eye," she says.
She steps just a little closer, her smile growing wider, "I'll credit you with this much wisdom: you chose to get out. You never belonged among our ranks. Your diamond surface covers nothing but sponge, soft and fragile and weak. But I give you credit for having the good sense to realize it and get out while you can. Enjoy your clean hands while you have them, my dear."
- Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would just smile over at Selene sadistically over when the other woman would confront her, the two standing almost pressed up against one another, "Oh Selene, it's so lovely to see all my thoughts about you confirmed. How far the self proclaimed mighty have fallen. It's amusing. Well worth all the trouble you've ever caused and chaos to give me such entertainment to see you reduced over ot merely this. At one point I thought you could be possibly dangerous. Fortunately your attention span begets you to be merely a nuisance. And I'm chosing my own fate and direction, Selene."
- Selene Gallio has posed:
Selene Gallio gives a condescending shrug, "As you wish, Emma. Your opinion of me means nothing. As do you, of course. You'll retreat fro the club just as you retreated from your family, because you cannot handle the responsibilities. Because you don't have what it takes. And you'll tell yourself that you're just being independent and making your own way in the world. When the simple truth is that no one wants you. Well, outside of those who want your body - you could always follow your true calling and be a whore. I imagine you'd do better at that than you ever did at whatever other ambitions you've failed at."
- Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would hiss over at Selene, eyes almost burning fire if she had the ability, "Why, I don't know. You seem to have a priority on getting all the attention. I'd call you pathetic but we both know it's true. You're the one that can't live without other people, after all. So desperately needy."
- Selene Gallio has posed:
Selene Gallio shrugs, "I am a goddess. Gods have always enjoyed being worshipped. It just so happens that I also deserve it. You, too, will bend the knee someday, Emma Frost. If I allow you to live long enough,' she says.
She flicks her fingers at the chauffeur and heads towards the building, pushing past Emma. "Enjoy being irrelevant, Emma. I'm glad to see you've finally found your place."
- Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Well, Selene. That's the thing. I've seen gods and met them. I've seen beings of power with plans and schemes and abilities. They all have something grander in the works rather thana cting like a vaudeville entertainer. You're never going to be anything more than a passing amusement, Selene. So thank you as always for the tete a tete an the entertainment. It's good ot have consistency."
