Date of Scene: 29 August 2022

Synopsis: Captain Stacy comes in for a visit at Gwen's place and gets to meet Peter. It goes as well as you can imagine.
Cast of Characters: Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker

Gwen Stacy has posed:
So it was that our two intrepid heroes escaped the scene of the capture of that invisible armored robber. Some soaking wet, others needing some serious work on their acting capacity. What was the worse that could happen anyway? Invisible worries still nagged at Gwen but being young and mostly carefree meant it didn't take too much of her mind. Instead she was focused on the actual fact that her suit was now soaked through...

"My place is close. We will go there, and I can give you a tour.." a glance over her shoulder as they swing between buildings towards Greenwich, "... even if I am not sure you really *deserve* it."

Was she sour about the soaking? Maybe just a little!

They finally arrive to her building and she jumps over to latch herself next to a window. "Here.." one hand lifts a small security latch and then she slips inside.

It's the window that leads to the back alley so it apparently seems quite secure and without anyone looking on.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter was already kicking himself for any number of things that went wrong during what should have been a simple crime stop. He had doused his girlfriend in a tank of water. He had then tried to help his girlfriend, outing her as his girlfriend while being public enemy number one for any number of folks. Not the best move.

So to say that Peter takes Gwen's verbal jab to heart is an understatement. "I _said_ I was sorry," he says as he catches up to her. "I slipped, and my back is still feeling really off." He decided this was not the time to try to ask her to take a look at it and massage it to feel better after he had twisted holding that water tower that he had decided to lift instead of punching, ignoring her advice.

As he follows along, watching her lithe form in the now _even more skintight_ costume, he sighs. Assuming that she was really was joking about being _really_ angry about it, all things considered it wasn't the worst thing that could have happened. They got away, no one got a photo of them together. And presumably, if she decided he still deserved a tour, maybe he would be able to warm her up after being wet for so long. A guy can dream, right?

As Peter scrambled into her apartment after her, he sighed. At least the day couldn't get any worse.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"You may have sprained it." Gwen then replies as they are getting into the apartment, elegant feet now on the kitchenette and she beginning to walk across it, still leaving some wet footprints, "I will take a look after, may need a massage."

Maybe she isn't *that* angry.

Hood gets pulled back from her head and she reaches with both hands to her mask to peel it off and letting out a groan. She lets it drop down on the living room floor perhaps a bit carelessly. But then again she *is* home. And it's not like the day could get any worse..

As the mask comes out her hair is still visibly wet, she reaching for it to rinse some off, "Welcome chez Gwen." she announces, spinning once about herself. "Not big but it's home. Also, mind the feet."

Scattered eletronics pieces here and there!

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter Parker says, "Ouch, yeah. Maybe." Peter watches Gwen pad away and opens his mouth to suggest something else that he may have sprained, but decides that now is not the time to push his luck. So he remains silent and follows along with her, looking around as he goes. "This is a nice place," he says, with a smile.

Watching as she starts to remove her wet costuming, Peter lets loose another soft sigh of satisfaction. He will never get tired of seeing her face, he figures. And wet and now uncostumed, her hair matted? When does Gwen _not_ look amazing?

"Want me to get a towel?" He grins. "Or two?" He glances down when she points out his feet, and nods. "Well, easy solution there." He hops up and clings to the ceiling, wall crawling his way over to her bathroom. He peeks in and then snags some towers before heading back over towards her, tossing one down. "Maybe we should get you of this wet clothes and into something..." He grins. "Spidey-er.""

Gwen Stacy has posed:
A finely trimmed eyebrow arches up more and more and Peter just goes into the bathroom to get those towels. Someone's clearly feeling lucky. Catching the towel with one hand she then smirks, expression mysterious enough that it could range from 'now you've done it' to 'maybe you get lucky today'. It's always a toss up where it comes to Gwen!

"Spidey-er?" Brow is still up, "I thought you'd want me out of these." her ghost spider outfit. She approaches Peter, fingertips resting to his chest and they start 'walking' up, over his chest, "But you really think you deserve something today..?"

Uh-Oh...

Blue eyes sparkle with mischievousness and she flicks one finger on Peter's nose, on the mask, "You are lucky I am a softie, so ..." and she leans in closer..

"Why don't you give me a few minutes to get the water going and get it warm and then we can figure out what we want to do..? And in the meantime, start getting out of those..."

She turns and begins walking away, already beginning to zip out of her suit. One bare shoulder shows and ...., she gets out of sight within the bathroom. Water is heard to start running but a couple of minutes later there's a ring on the door.

"Oh, must be my landlord. Mind opening up and telling them I will have the check later today? I forgot yesterday..." Gwen's voice coming from the bathroom, ".. Then come join in."

Peter Parker has posed:
Lingering with his feet on the ceiling and hanging upside down, Peter grins as Gwen approaches him carrying the towels he tossed her way. "Ok, I say Spidey-er, but really I mean, uh..." He looks at her, eyes going over her form. "I meant off. Just...off." He grins at he feels her fingers, and then he considers her words. "I mean. I think I deserve something _everyday_, but you know, somedays it's good like the toy prize in a box of cereal, somedays it's just the bottom of the cereal box, where the cereal has all mostly broken up and it's just the dust of former cereal pieces."

At the touch of his nose, Peter smiles. "I count myself lucky for many, many things about you, Gwen." He reaches out and uses a finger to poke her in the abdomen. "You are not merely a softied."

He turns and watches her head towards the bathroom. He plays her words back in his head. Did she intend for him to join her? How big is her shower, anyway? Could he go and check? These question race through his mind as he starts to remove his own Spider-costume, grabbing the backpack with his civvies to get ready to maybe change into those. Unless...

The doorbell rings, and he has his orders. Come join in. Got it, that wasn't his imagination. Peter trots over to the door, tossing his backpack on the couch, wearing nothing but his boxers after taking off his costume. One brief explanation to the landlord, and then he is enjoy to enjoy the hot water with his girlfriend.

He opens the door as far as the chain goes, standing enough behind him to be decent but not enough to conceal that he is not wearing a shirt, and he looks up to offer a smile to her landlord. "She'll have it..."

He stops and realizes that he has made several mistakes at this point. As a result, instead of spending time with a showering Gwen Stacy, he is about to share some time with a glowering...
"Captain Stacy!"

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Indeed it's Captain Stacy. The man is standing by the door and one could even swear Gwen got her 'angry' look out of her father for he is looking at Peter in that kind of manner when she is really out for blood. Specially when he spots that naked shoulder on Peter. It means no shirt. Well, well, well...

"Yes, Captain Stacy." He says in that mix of Queens and Irish accent, "Is my -daughter- in?" he then asks in that kind of way that he isn't really asking but demanding to see her. Not that he just bursts into the place but he does take that step forward, foot past the door threshold.

Gwen, for her part, is mortified. Which is maybe why she doesn't talk right away. She does peek out the doorway of the bathroom, looking at Peter in his BOXERS and the frame of her father by the door. At least she is in a dead angle which means he can't see her just yet. All for the best because she really isn't dressed anymore.

A *THWIP* is heard right behind Peter. A web catches the loose mask that had been dropped on the ground and pulls it back. And if Peter looks over to her? She will mouth 'Stall!'

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-man has had a long career facing down the scariest villains to have every caused havoc in New York. The Green Goblin. Kraven the Hunter. He has encountered beings that could create planets, and being that could eat planets. He has faced Death Herself.

Peter Parker stands looking at Captain Stacy and he cannot recall the last time he has felt such fear. Lucky for him, having spent so long fighting villains he has learned to think fast on his feet when facing life or death situations. And while death may not be a threat here - he hopes - losing the light of his life is a very real one. And so he acts on instinct, and hopes it serves him better than at the water tower.

"Yes, Captain Stacy!" he says, mustering up every bit of exciting enthusiasm that he displays when facing off against Doctor Octopus and does not want to convey just how petrified he is. "Let me get the door open for you." He nudges to close the door - because of course, it has to be closed to remove the chain. And thank heavens Peter had yet to remove the web spinners from his other wrist!

Once the door is closed, he has fractions of a second to act. He sends out a line to snag a pair of flip flops from Gwen's shoe rack and yank them over, and then does the same with a towel on the far side of the room. Within barely more time than it should take to close the door, he has opened it to admit Captain Stacy. Except now he stands in a pair of flip flops - not his size, of course, and they are pink, but - and with a towel draped over the wrist of his other hand, conveniently covering the webshooter. "I'm glad you caught us, we were _just_ getting ready to go down and check out the splash pad down the street." Peter steps back from the door, keeping himself between Capt. Stacy and where his daughter is hiding. Glad that he wore boxers that, at least at a passing glance, could be mistaken for swim trunks.

He extends his hand towards Captain Stacy. "I'm Peter Parker. I'm an old friend of Gwen's."

Please please please let Gwen have a swimsuit in her bathroom.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
The door chain does save the day for Captain Stacy has no other choice but to remove his foot to let the young 'buck' unlock the door. It's those precious few moments that Gwen also takes advantage of to 'clean up' some more, more webs being shot and dragging the suit she had left on the ground back inside the bathroom. She is trapped though! And inside the bathroom...

Think Gwen, think...

The splashpad. That's a solution if only she had a swimsuit in her bathroom! But as it stands they are within the bedroom. Don't panic, Gwen. It's only the end of your life as you know it (She might be a little overdramatic right now).

Captain Stacy steps in once the door is open and when he takes Peter's hand there's firmness there. That grip of a father that knows what Peter is up to. Or at least imagines it. "I know who you are, Peter." the man walks with a slight limp to his leg now, perhaps still recovering from the shooting he was a victim of some months back. "You came to our place for dinner some..." his eyes go vague a moment, " ... time ago?" he shakes that feeling off. "It was before..." but then he frowns. Remembering when Gwen went into a coma is never a good thing to the Captain.

It's the kind of distraction that Gwen takes advantage of, skittering through the ceiling and into her room, so quick too. Almost as if her life depended on it..

"What was that?" The captain looks over to where Gwen was a few moments ago, "Gwen, where are you?"

It takes a few more seconds but then a Gwen dressed in a dark blue bikini comes out. "Daddy!" she smiles, brushing some hair from her face. It was a mess of an hair-do but there was nothing she could do right now, "You came just when we were going out to pad at the ..., splash pad." she is as good as Peter when trying to act.

Peter Parker has posed:
Stall. Stall. Stall.

Peter moves very slowly to back away from the door, keeping Captain Stacy from moving too far in. "Well, sure, Captain Stacy, I just wasn't sure if you'd remember me," he says, putting on his best charming smile. The sort that Peter Parker had that found a way to endear himself to older people, but would get people his own age to roll their eyes at him. "Yeah, it, was a while ago," replies Peter, trying to move Captain Stacy away from that line of thought. "I'm at ESU now, actually, studying physics!" Distract distract distract.

He moves along to try to get Captain Stacy's eyes to follow him, turning his back to the bathroom and bedroom. "There's a demonstration in a few weeks of a new accelerator, and I knew that Gwen likes that sort of thing sometimes." He smiles up at Captain Stacy. "And the idea of the splash pad came, up, and it's _so_ hot today." He waves his free hand in front of his face.

When Gwen arrives in the bikini, there is a lot of sheer relief on Peter's face. And, well, that very apparent appreciation for her form that Peter probably should have found a way to suppress if her father looked back over at him. But it's Gwen. In a bikini. What was he supposed to do?

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Only sometimes?" That makes Captain Stacy at least get a smile to his face, "It's all she talks about most of the time..." Gwen can be a nerd when she wants to! "Good to see you making something out of your life at least, Parker." that strict tone returning. And some ..., resentment to her tone? Almost as if he resented Peter for something ..., but not even him seems sure of what it may be apparently.

"Gwen..." His smile gets a touch more broad when he sees the blonde even if her being on a bikini dims that smile in the same manner that Peter's seems to grow. Go figure. She pads over to her father and offers him a hug, "Did you just shower? Your hair looks a mess. I was coming to catch up with you, I know you got a day off from Mrs. Wong.." then the Captain getting a small frown to his expression. "You won't believe what I saw on my way here. Apparently those spider menaces were at it again. This time almost emptying a water reserve cistern down at Queens..." oh yea, he doesn't like Spider-people... "Outlaws, all of them. No respect for police work." strong opinion too.

Gwen gets a bit defensive, "I am sure they had a good reason..." a look towards Peter as if pleading for his help.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter slowly nods to Capt. Stacy. "I am trying, sir," he says with a smile. Trying to appease Capt. Stacy, knowing that at some point, he'll likely be seeing more of him. He inwardly frowns a bit, knowing what is pulling at the Captain's mind. Somber memories, indeed.

Peter watches Gwen stroll up to her father, and he smiles earnestly at that. As much as this may bne an intimidating moment for him, as someone who had no father growing up other than Uncle Ben, seeing that affection makes him happy.

"They took out one of those guys who stole the invisible suits, according to what I heard from one of my friends at the Bugle, Capt. Stacy." Peter tries to smile at him. "I think that's all of those suits off the street now. So their methods were a bit weird...I mean, really, who dumps an entire cistern on people, right?" Peter looks over at Gwen. "But, uh, they stopped the bad guy."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"You'd better do more than trying." Is there an hidden meaning there in the man's tone. Or is it the way that he's looking at Peter now? Perhaps he is seeing more than meets the eye with the interaction here. He's a cop after all and being observant is an important part of their life! Gwen speaks up a bit defensively. "Peter is top of his class, and he's working for the Bugle too." she wisely keeps the connection to Tony and Stark Enterprises quiet. No need to have his father looking too much into his life.

After the hug the Captain nods sharply, "Yes, I was handling that case a while back.." when he was shot, "Hopefully that will be the last we see of those. It's the problem of people having power but no responsibility..." is he talking about the Spideys or the invisible suit smugglers now?

A sigh comes out after and the man smiles a touch more at his daughter, "I am glad you are having some fun this summer at least.." he says, resting his hands on Gwen's shoulders, "I will leave you two to your splash pad. Come by for dinner soon, yes?" The response, "Yes, daddy." a broader smile to her lips. Maybe they were scotsfree!

The man turns to leave, "I will be seeing you Peter." then a pause and he leans to tell Gwen, "I don't think boxers are a good choice for going to swim but I am sure you two know what you are doing."

Oh yes, he noticed.

Peter Parker has posed:
It's a good thing that Gwen pipes up to tell her father about school and the Bugle, because Peter was about to lead off with Tony. And as soon as she omits that, he realizes that referring to Iron Man by first name would probably have been a bad idea. He just nods in agreement. "I feel like you should always be trying, sir, regardless of how much you've achieved. You can always work to do more."

There is a shiver that runs through Peter when Captain Stacy says that. "You're right, Captain Stacy. It's something that my Uncle Ben used to drill into me," he says, voice going soft. No acting required here - talking about Uncle Ben always made Peter somber and introspective. "He used to tell me that with great power, there must also come get responsibility." He looks at Capt. Stacy and at least in this it's impossible not to see how genuine he is. "I've lived my entire life since he was killed with that in mind, to live up to the example he set."

He watches the discussion of dinner. Part of him inwardly frowns, although he does not show it on his face. Not that he was eager to race off to family dinner, but at some point...he was better off that way.

"Of course, Capt. Stacy. Stay safe out there!" He smiles warmly, and manages to somehow keep it in place as Capt. Stacy calls them out. Of course he noticed. He's a detective. He's no less observant than Aunt May. So, two for two, it seems.

Peter is silent until Captain Stacy leaves, and closes the door, before looking at Gwen. He shrugs a little with a sheepish expression on his face. "That went well...?" Maybe more hopeful than earnestly believing it.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Some of that genuine manner in how Peter speaks seems to rub (on a good way) on the Captain. He gives one last look at the young man and then finally offers him a nod. What does it all mean though?! Not that he explains it. Maybe it's an acknowledgement. Or an acceptance. Or perhaps it's simply a start. But then he walks out...

Gwen closes the door after some waving and some farewells while he's making his way down the stairs and finally turns to Peter, back to the door and she letting out a slow exhale. As if the weight of the world had just lifted from her shoulders.

"Okay that was ..., intense.." She blows on her cheeks, folding her arms about her mostly bare waistline. "The splash pad..., really..?"

"Still, do you think he caught up to us? He didn't seem angry or anything..." What is it with daughters and sons and being oblivious? First Peter with Aunt May, now Gwen with Captain Stacy. Or maybe it's just that wistful thinking that they can keep secrets from their closest relatives.

Peter Parker has posed:
There is a long exhale from Peter as Capt Stacy leaves and a palpable sense of relief as the tension floods out of his shoulders. "I had to think fast and I only had time to get a few things," he says, tossing the towel off to a chair and finally removing his web shooters from the last wrist. "It was plausible for him, ok?"

Peter just stares at Gwen and blinks. "Uh. Gwen. He _totally_ knows." He walks over and reaches up to brush his fingers through her hair. "And I don't know that he agrees or is happy about it, but..." he smiles. "He didn't chase me out on the spot, so it seems he is ok with it." Then he flashes a grin. "But I sure am glad he didn't invite _me_ to join for that dinner. Awwwwwwk WARD." he says in a little sing song voice.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
That Peter just confirms her fear that her father *indeed* knows it seems to drain the color from her face, a brief slump of her shoulders but then a resigned sigh, "Well, if it's out then it's out.." she actually smiles a bit after when Peter brushes fingers through her hair, she reaching up to touch his hand and leaning to place a small kiss on his cheek.

"There isn't much middle ground with my father. You are either in or out. And if he didn't chase you out .., means you are probably in.." she brings her arms around Peter's neck to rest closer to him, finding comfort in his warmth.

"So ...." and her tone has grown quieter. So secretive. "Are we still on for that shower..?" Gwen, always with an eye on what's important.

Meanwhile, inside the bedroom, Gwen's phone vibrates with a new message. Is it Capt Stacy telling Gwen to bring Peter next time? Who knows? Gwen certainly won't until that shower is done.
