Good, Ol' Fashioned Gotham II
Date of Scene: 09 September 2022
Location: China Basin - Gotham City
Synopsis: Continuation of the knock-down-blow-out gangwar prompted by the Steel Cobras of Gotham messing with the St. Patrick Slithers outta NYC.

Talia al Ghul engages in swordplay against someone who thinks they have her number. Detective Chimp steers the fighting dogs towards freedom as the GCPD sets up a barricade to stop the gang violence from spilling further out into the streets. The FLAMEBIRD meets acquaintance of one Alexander Hyde, who has determined he is now a Snakebuster and whacked a couple of people who were pickin' on the ones in the Halloween pajamas. Orphan initiates a lesson in stealth fighting which Balm initially fails horribly, but gets better, and Detective Chimp escapes having to file paperwork.

Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Talia al Ghul, Detective Chimp, Bette Kane, Cassandra Cain

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
QUIN'S WAREHOUSe was the site of violence untold; dogs loosened by Detective Chimp were fighting their way through the streets, Gotham Police have set up a barricade at one end and have brought their riot shields to bear.

In the streets, there are men and women fighting each other, the Gotham City's own Steel Cobras on their home turf have tried to take control of their fighting dogs back from their manic barking, there is blood in the streets as steel pipes and chains from the Saint Patrick Slithers out of New York City come for blood to repay the Steel Cobras for the kidnapping of their children. The sounds of the injured ring out like weak tin bells over the din and chaos of the fighting that spilled out from the warehouse following Osprey's saves on the bombs.

And to make it worse, it's begun to rain.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
This sort of thing is usually beneath her. This is the sort of thing to be ignored, perhaps manipulated if circumstances allow her to play it to her favor. But simple things like gang wars are ordinarily ignored by her. But one of these gangs has made the issue of giving a personal insult to Talia and she in turn has given it her personal attention. In the city of her Beloved she cannot simply have them slaughtered by the League of Assassins so she has settled for going in to brutalize them herself. It's something of stress relief anyways. No grander plans, no worries, merely trying to leave bodies in her wake still in the ectasy of pain and raw agony.
Talia Al Ghul does not mind the rain as she walks through it, a poncho thrown over her head. Strapped to her back is her freshly cleaned Katana from her precious excursion. And tonight melee, morbidity, and toeing as close to the line of murder as is acceptable in her Beloved's city is her mood.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will make his way up to the second story to get a look outside, and see whats going on. He sighs and tries to get a count on folks, "I am beginning to think both gangs have all their people here. He ponders "Maybe if we can spot the leaders of both gangs we might be able to do something."

Bette Kane has posed:
Sometimes it is worse than you think it will be, with all the alarms going off, Bette responded. This was chaos though. She glided over and grappled one of those handy gargoyles that make up Gotham's motif. It was an emergency, and she should act quickly. And there were dogs, why were there dogs? After a moment, she starts to pick up on the invading team's colors.

Release and glide, separate the civilians from the punks. Protect the pooches, don't get mauled by the pooches. At least the Flamebird outfit is waterproof.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Cass is visible when Bette arrives. She isn't attempting to do everything herself for a change. Just pondering what I'm pondering. Is this the night we take over the world?

Hey, she could be thinking that. She's sitting on a rooftop, watching this all happen. She was helping kids get free, but this has gotten out of hand.

Tapping her earset, she keeps the bats in the loop. But what else can one person do?

Also she thinks she saw a monkey fighting on our side. So this is weird already.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Waterproof is good as Flamebird sails through the air, and then is struck by the water of fire trucks, trying to douse down the fighters with cold water from hydrants and push them back. the GCPD is ordering people to stand down.

The fighters aren't taking any chances and aren't aiming for any prisoners.

One of the fighting dogs takes out a Cobra, grabbing a sword-weilding fighter by the arm and dragging him down. It'll be the last time someone hits that dog.

Phoebe crests over the warehouse, coming out of the broken overhead window as she comes to Cass's side, breathlessly looking at her companion as she pulls off her domino.

She points at Cass, and makes an OK symbol, her eyebrows rising as she catches her breath.

Gunfire has broken out. With the water coming from the trucks, the street has become slick.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul continues to walk through the rain and the stench that is existential to Gotham. She's advancing over towards the warehouse, a morbid grin over on her face. Rather than go in quietly to observe.. This time, Talia goes to make out a point of drawing her katana. The glint of metal is no doubt visible against the darkness if one is paying attention over to it. Blade deftly balanced in her hands she's walking forwards steadily. A sadistic grin on her face and a look of murderous intent.
And sos he walks amongst the Sharks and the Jets, intent on ensuring there will be no romance from a Romeo and Juliet of either gang to bring a halt to the festivities.

Bette Kane has posed:
And Flamebird gets knocked out of the air would be a slight exaggeration; but, her landing/entrance is wrecked for sure when the hose pressure knocks her to the side before her feet touch down. That's it, she won't be buying the GCFD calendar this year. She spins on the ground before rolling out of the way.

Flashbangs! Bette tosses a few marble sized ones into the lines of the Slitherins, umm Slithers with her left hand. Those goggles filter out the pyrotechnics for her. With her right hand she pitches a Bird-o-rang into the wrist of a pistol wielder to disarm him. "Never fear, Flamebird is here!"

     Diving dodge!

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will move to the window and call out to the dogs "Go my friends, go towards the smell of old animals, hey and grease." He tries to direct the dogs to the old amusement park to get them to safety. They are helping somewhat but they are also being hurt, and may prove problematic for the police so he tries to call them off to a place they can move where he can find them later.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Cass? Yeah, she's apparently alright. She nods as Balm (Phoebe) shows, then gestures to not only the monkey with the dogs, but the glint of a katana in the evening's light. Then she tilts her head thoughtfully, and motions with her right hand.

Follow, it says. And she smiles as she goes not toward the fight, but to one side of it. She seems happy to see Phoebs, but this is clearly not something she's going to take head-on.

Time for a lesson. "Watch," she says. Then she goes down the side of a building (however works) and finds a convenient alleyway.

Got to take opportunities when they're available!

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way -- but some of the Slithers don't feel the same way. As Talia wrecks a path of violent and bloody destruction through the forces of both Snake-themed gangs, both groups begin to pull away from her, those with swords and pipes not willin gto take on the lady assassin with a katana! One Cobra in a blue suit, though, he comes up and crosses a dao with the katana.

"You don't need to be here, why don't you go back to your little hide-away, little viper?" he snarls.

Flamebird is knocked out of the air, and the promise of not purchasing the GCFD calendar present in the hearts and minds of those participating in the battle now, and the flashbangs go off. The birdy disarms the pistol slitherer, and with a rebel yell he does not cry 'more more more', but more ARRUGH! and attempts to tackle Flamebird!

Chimp's call rouses the hounds! The dogs heed his call, and with yelps, yips, and barks, the pack begins to move off, through the barricade and between the legs of officers. They seem content to move off easily. Not so easily moved off is a Cobra (COBRAAAAAAAA) sniper, who takes aim at the Chimp from a building across the street, using a green laster marker.

Phoebe places her domino back on, and she looks to Cass, watching her carefully, and she purses her lips a moment before she rights her hood, and she moves to follow behind Cassandra, down the ancient iron escape and to the alleyway.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
There's a grin over from Talia, "The only thing that you'll be slithering away in is the cold. I am not a viper. I enjoy -playing- with my prey too much." The Daughter of the Demon, scion of a secret terrorist organization determined to rule the world, would hold her blade up and over in front o fher.
She goes to test the way the dao holds against her katana, going for one low block, then another slash high. Seeing how quick the man would respond over to it.
Then holding her blade in a single handed en garde position, Talia would grin rapturously.
"I am a guest in this city for the time being. So I must follow the rules of etiquette. That includes no killing. But it allows so many more things. Come. It's time for yout o learn that there are fates so far worse than death that will make you beg, cry, adn plea for it. I'm a maestra of agony. Pain and screams are music to my ears." She would go to then move on the attack!
Her skewer is attempted if she can through his gut, attempting to cut it cleanly. If she could slashing through his intestines. Messy, if so. Agonizing.. not lethal.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp sees the dot a moment to late to get totally out of the line of fire. He takes one to the shoulder, with a grunt, and drops down from the window, cursing a bit to himself "Save the dogs, help the kids, what could go wrong." He may not have known about the kids coming in, but he heard about them once there, and when one is pissed about being shot, well question all the reasons for coming here. The original shot may have taken him out or his flask may have blocked it, but you gotta protect the booze. He does pull the flask out again and takes a swig and then pours some on the wound with a grunt. "Same blasted arm." He says of where his shoulder was knocked out of joint in a fight recently.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
So. Cass sits Phoebe down, in the darkness, to let her eyes adjust. She's not out there fighting. Why not? Stay tuned.

She smiles, when she sees that Phoebe has enough vision to get by. Then she starts to point. She waits for Phoebe to see what she's pointing out, each time. But each one is important.

Snipers.

Gunmen.

Danger, from all angles. Enough to make anyone not up to Talia or higher's level frightened. Then? Then she motions forward.

She stays low, shoving Phoebe down if necessary. Stay low, stay quiet. Get close to the edges. She motions to eyes, then to the corner. Looks out, spots a target.

A moment later she reaches out, grabs, and is dragging a human male into the shadows, arm around his neck. Three heartbeats later the man's brain is oxy-starved enough to slow his movements, and then he's quiet.

That is how you do it. Apparently.

"You try," she says softly. She's something of a fan of this kind of combat. use the shadows to your advantage.

Bette Kane has posed:
There is alot, all at once for Bette to take in, she thinks, thought, is pretty sure she saw Orphan. But, she lost track of her. And there is a mini-Grodd here that seems to control the dogs while rocking a sport's coat and a Sherlock hat, how bizarre. Not really a mini-Grodd, actually a chimpanzee or bonobo? Bette would have to consult National Geographic. When he gets shot while trying to pull the dogs out, she decides he must be on the good side, or at least on the other side from whoever shot him.

So much to take in, oh and that clod is trying to tackle her. Right. The nerve of the visiting team. She doesn't dodge, instead she gets ready to push herself back and absorb the force of the slam grab. Quickly she pivots as the impact happens and drives her elbows one after the other into the base of his skull. "Get out of Gotham!" Does it still hurt Kane Blonde, yes, but it likely hurts him a lot more, unless it KOs him.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Technicalities are just that, technical.

The snake in the blue suit gives a grin right back to Talia, pale lips curled up.

"Oh, madam Cat then? We've already got one of those in Gotham I'm afraid." the man replies, and he blocks the low blow, and brings his dao up to catch Talia's blade. Looks like he has some skill with a sword. He gives a quiet look to Talia.

"This rabble's beneath you. Why bother?" he asks, narrowly side-stepping her blow --he's focused all on the defensive part, watching her carefully.

Chimp is hit! The flask survived, though, and he's able to steralize the wound with some of the booze kept within. THe dogs keep running, running, running towards freedom, tot he smell of old animals and hay! SWEET GOTHAM FREEDOM!

The Firebird has a lot to take in, the scene is chaotic for the people involved in it, just imagine how it feels to be writing it!

the Slither who grabbed her gives a grunt as he takes elbows to the head, and teeters, his knees nearly collapsing -- the job is finished by another guy, with a cross and a snake in a big X on an off-white wifebeater, scribbled in sharpie.

"GAWHD what does it TAKE for yous guys?! Don't! Hurt! The Halloween Costume People! Gawd I'm so SORRY miss, can't teach 'em anythin' in the middle of it, how do you do, Alex Hyde, EX St. Patrick Slither at yer service!" the man, who has a large cut over one eye, with swelling to the side of his face and looks like he may be missing a few teeth offers his hand to Bette as he introduces himself "I'm so fuggin' sorry 'bout the mess! I meant ta help honest, after meetin' one a' the red batkids and uh not-Bat-Girl the otha night!"

Phoebe seems a little out of her element, and feels like that one clip where the leopard seal has decided that the weird creature with one eye is just a very, very sick seal, and attempts to bring the diver dead penguins. With the exception of Orphan has her Seal of Approval. It's a weird friendship... companionship... relationship. She watches as Cass goes out, drawing one of the men outta the fight and into the shadows. Her eyebrows rise up.

She takes a deep breath, an dshe gives a nod, coming in low and she attempts to grab a target, arm coming up and around his neck as she tries to use her weight to take him down.

Unfortunately, she's flipped forward and dents in the roof of an ancient buick in the process. Her eyes go wide, mask lenses flashing as the man grunts, and brings up a pipe to try and smash her in with -- and she extends her pole, a'la Red Robin, and BONKs him on the forehead -- not as stealthy, still dazes him though!

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would grin, "Because one of your men -insulted- me. You are beneath me, but you had to go and make it personal. Given you haven't been able to properly train your little dogs, you need to face the consequences of your failures as well as they are." She faces off over with the man, focused on her little part of the melee, tuning out other things which were not a threat. Weapon in front of her in an en garde position, moving to quickly slash at the man on the attack.
Going for quick, readied strikes as she would see how well he handled the weapon. Trying to get a sense of what style he was trained in, and how strong his weapon was.
"The rot doesn't just go to the branches, it goes to the roots. So I should put you down as well as them for your escapades."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will pull a hanky from his pocket, pressing it to the wound before tearing the bottom of his t-shirt off to bind the wound. He uses his found sword to help him get back to his feet, but now he is making an extra effort to stay away from the windows as he makes to the roof. Once there he hides behind an AC unit and puts his hat on the end of his sword and pops it out from behind the unit, more cautious this time before he is willing to stick his head out.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Cass makes no mention of Phoebe's improvisation. She just grabs the staggered guy and vanishes him, like the other. She's already got two more (HOW???) in her pile in the alleyway. She glanced at Phoebe to make sure she could move, then dealt with the leftovers.

She'd be giving Alex a thumbs-up if she could, but she's got a rookie to train here.

"No body," she inisists, when and if Phoebe returns. No body, no sign that this location is dangerous. More targets will walk past.

She smiles. She pats Phoebe. Then she's gone, taking after someone else she saw who needs help. Which is how she appears next to Bette a moment later. Frowning.

"You next," she insists. Whatever that means.

Bette Kane has posed:
Maybe the tackle hit Bette harder than she expected? Maybe she is suddenly in the Bizzaro Zone, World, or whatever that Superman mirror doesn't call it. There is a charming, street punk slash gentleman in the middle of this anarchy festival? She shakes hands and then jerks the guy to her side so she can launch a triple toss of bird-o-wings into the Slither team. The birds spread out and start spinning around a central cord to wrap around another of the gang member's torso and arms to pin them to his side. "Nice to meet you."

Oh, hey.. She did see a Cass! "Glad you are here. There are some folks having a katana fight." Let Orphan leads the way! (Which ever way she wants.)

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"You have no responsibilty to punish me, Daughter of the Demon. Like I said, we're beneath you. Do you put a knife to every ant that crosses your path? Every fly? Every bitch mosquito that nips a capillary? You should make your way out of this rabble and find some better prey. Like the two baby bats behind you, definitely would be a better challenge to kill -- as long as you're not afraid of men in black suits." the Dao weilder remarks. He's very defensive, moving to block and parry each slice from the katana as Talia makes her way in fighting him, as he tries to convince her to exit the field.

A green dot makes its way towards Talia's stomach.

The Chimp now has a sword. He presses the hanky to his wound, and he is heading to the roof with his sword to try and hunt down the offending shooter -- he would find the sniper taking aim at a new target.

Cass grabs the staggered guy, and Phoebe gives a grunt as she rolls off the top of the car, and on her way by she floorsweeps another guy, cracks him upside the head with her staff, and then shoulder-rolls him towards the alleyway! Hey! She's got it! She can do it!

     ... where'd Cass go?

Alex Hyde gives a bright smile, in spite of his missing teeth as he picks up a baseball bat from the side in one hand and a pipe wrench in the other, and gives each a swing before he's pushed to the side by the Firebird as she sends bird-o-rangs on wing, tangling up others!

"Nice to meet you too! I don't suppose you're a Bird-Girl to tha Bat-Girl? HEY! HEY! I knows you!" he calls to Orphan -- "Where's Caidance? Did you gedder?!" he asks, turning and cracking a Cobra upside the head with the baseball bat before folding him in half with a blow to the stomach from the pipewrench, guarding the girls' backs. Like a GENTLEMAN.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Oh, what a game. Talia Al Ghul grins, "Why, are you -trying- to play me little man? All right then." As she tracks those three dots,s he goes to charge over in to him. She sees how he holds his Dao, has evaluate dhis strenght and his style, and she goes to rush at him. Her swing is powerful and it's aimed over at the center of his weapon. She's expecting him to in turn hold his arm up to brace it, using the extra mass of his body and lean into the weapon to secure it. It's a standard counter to her highly aggressive move and this man is well trained and experienced.
The normal thing to do to counter this is be conservative defensively, and let her overreach. If this man is taught well, eh'll let her slash out and then counterattack. The green dots on her mean that he doesn't have to worry on beating her quickly.
Her blade is the difference, here. Or so she's intended. Her slash would go to simply tyr and cleave -through- the dao. The strong, strong and almost alien made metal would hopefully cut cleanly through the weapon, making it fall to pieces and then the upward trajectory would hopefully take off the hand that was holding it. Presuming she could then Talia would go to yank the man around by his collar with her off-hand, if possible ot swing him around to snap the man in front of her to use as a shield.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp sees no one shooting his hat, he steps out to look around spotting the sniper on the opposite roof, he will frown. Really needs to get a chimp line, or an ape toss or something. He looks about and not seeing anything else, he will bring his arms up to throw his borrowed sword at the man across the roof, trying to hit the man in the lower part of his body to make him miss his shot, and have to deal with the sword. He does run after the sword, and using the wires connection the buildings, he scampers towards the other roof . Making sure not to make any circuit to ground while touching anything electric.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Giving Alex the thumbs-up, Cass says, "Safe." She knows that normal people seem to need to hear the words, even though the job's been done. Then? Then she motions to Bette.

She takes her to where Phoebe is working, getting the team together. Hopefully Phoebe has managed to get by this long without needing an assist. If not, well. She might not make it.

Sliding in, Cass takes out another guy who's spotted Phoebe's work. She does it by grabbing his ankles from behind, and yanking. The guy's head hits the ground, and she's got him into the darkness almost as fast as Bette can touch down.

"That," she insists. second maneuver, same as the first. She touches Phoebe's shoulder, then points to another alleyway. This one's gotten hot.

Bette Kane has posed:
Did he just call her a Bird-Girl of a Batgirl..? Like sidekick.. Of all the indignity! Wait, she was kind of the bird-girl of Batwoman, but still.. Oh the sad slap of reality, she was also working for Babs. She does not answer right away, but steps forward into the crowd of gang chumps and unleases a furious series of jub hits, uppercuts, and kicks. One of the better things about being a street cape, instant punching therapy. "I am Flamebird!" Not bird-girl, at least. Oh look! Sherlock Primate is moving in brachiation style. Oh wait, Orphan is leaving, and motioning for Bette to follow, she should pay more attention. Now she has to work her way out of the middle and catch up.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
5R    The man with the dao is hoping to keep Talia's focus on him while the sniper works. He expects the overreach, letting her slash out and he thinks for just the briefest moment that he *has* the Daughter of the Demon, and he leans to press the attack, giving a toothy grin as his eyes narrow, thinking he's going to spill her guts all over the street.

And then the katana tears through the Dao. He yells in Mandarin for the sniper to stop as he's grabbed and turned.

Just as the sniper had linedup their shot and was about to take out Talia al Ghul and claim THAT feather for his cap.

He pulls the trigger just as the Dao-holder is grabbed and pulled.

Chimp is safe, for the moment, as he launches the sword at the sniper, which ends up dull-edge to a helmeted head instead of across his body as he tries to avoid it. There's a CLANG and a flailing of the sniper, the rifle dropping from the rooftop as Chimp makes his way across on some thick wires running towards the danger man!

"Good -- GOOD! Glad ta hear it Not-Bat! Nice ta meet ya Flamey, I'm Alex!" Alex states, and there's a solid THUNK as someone attempts to brain him. Well lucky for him, ALEX HYDE HAS NO BRAINS WORTH BRAININ'! He yells like an epic barbarian, spitting out another tooth and goes barbaric on the guy who tried to take out the girls.

Phoebe is pretty solidly feeling the aster at the moment as she's begun clearing another couple of folks, a solid pile of fifteen guys bound up with zipties and cuffs.

Phoebe gives a huff, and a mute nod to Cass as she moves off to the side again, turning and sweeping another with her staff before she kicks his solar plexus, and rolls him into the new alleyway.

It's not much, but it's honest work.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
There's blood and gore everywhere Talia's blade skewers over the man, and she goes to hold him up to use as a shield. Even as soon as the sniper bulle timpacts she's going to release him and hit the ground -hard-. A sniper bullet, particularly fired from a high powered rifle, will have the power to easily penetrate the body and hit her. So the man's body muffles it just enough for her to be able to slide the rest of the way out of the shot and for the kevlar plates over in her outfit to take the worst of it, leaving her just some bruises. She would go to stand up, covered in the man's blood, going to snap out her katana and go to flash it over at the man with a grin . "You're next." She is the daughter of the demon.
This is nothing to her. An dhopefully the casual psychosis she inspires would unnerve him.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp follows the sword and once over the roof with the sniper, he will run and jump onto the sniper and a swift right hand to the chin to send the man to sleepy time land. Once the man is out, he will strip him of that helmet, and do his impression of Sargent Sapien. He does strip any weapons off the sniper, pocketing anything that he might find useful for later.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Practice is how Cass got good. That and good genes, but she barely knows that part. Still, she sees the pile that Phoebe's made and actually gives the girl a clap on the shoulder! So proud! She wonders idly where Bette has gotten to. She was supposed to be right behind me.

I will pull this gang war over so help me.

Sigh.

She then does what she does best. She vanishes into the shadows, and does...exactly what she was teaching Phoebe (and Bette coughcough) to do. People. Start. Vanishing. From random locations, all over, as she moves from cover to cover. It's like watching a ghost, one that really dislikes gang violence and leaves people with headaches in the morning.

She'll be at it a while. Wide target selection and all. But really, Phoebe took out fifteen on her own. How many could be left?

Good job everyone.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
There is blood and gore everywhere, the Cobra in the blue suit is cast aside, his life having served well to save hers when he foolishly thought he had her. And technically, Talia did not kill him.

Technically correct is the best kind!

Chimp gets the swift right hand to the chin, and the sniper is sent to sleepy land, Chimp gains 18xp, several sniper rounds, a pack of Chinese cigarettes, two lighters, one heavier, and a really nice tactical knife.

Cass's approval does make Phoebe's work a little bit more fun as she watches. There's only about seventy fighters left, most are not in great condition.

And that's when Alex Hyde takes a stand, bringing his fingers to his lips and emitting a whistle that could stop cabs for blocks. It's beautifully shrill. Dinah would be jealous.

"HOKAY YOUS SLITHERS! THEY GOT OUR KIDS OUT AN' THEY'RE SAFE! IF YA WANT YA KIDS BACK, FOLLOW ME!" he bellows, and picking up a manhole cover to use as a shield, he CHARGES through the crowds with a mighty bellow worthy of any rhinocerous, water buffalo, or incredibly scary freight train made of meat and bone. He's followed by a small contingent of slithers who were staying to the sides of the fighting -- they were here to get their children back. That was their number one reason. To HELL with everything else.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp is making his way down towards ground level not. He does look about to see if there are any goons in the hallways as he does, if they are he may just have to hit them with the heavier. Once he has made his way to the ground floor, he is going to move towards an alley, to see if the cops have it under control or at least getting there.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul throws down the body of the man, going to point her blade up and over at the sniper. Then she's going to deposit a smoke bomb on the ground, vanishing over into it. The hesitation of the man to not put another bolt into her is what lets her live. Shock is a useful thing. The blasted apart corpse hits the ground with a meaty -thunk- as Talia goes to darta long towards where the shot came from. The sniper is a good shot and has high end eqiupment, but he's likely not military.
The situation is resolved thanks to the simian, even as Talia goes to dart along into cover then andg oes to let the highly annoying, shrill man yelling make a good target of himself over for anyone else that still has a weapon.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Cass is invisible. Until she isn't, when she appears next to Bette. Just to make certain that she's alright. Then, moments later she's near to Chimp. Checking on him. She already looked in on Phoebe. She checks on Alex, but he seems to have things good.

So she ends up looking at Talia. She stands there, looking at the blood on her outfit. And her eyes are featureless. She will not be the one to decide on that front. But...she offers a nod. No words. They would seem a bit redundant right now anyway.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Talia is free from the bloodshed, able to look upon the dead, the injured, the quickened from her vantage point as the large Alex Hyde makes his way along the edges of the remaining bloodshed, intent on getting his niece Caidance back. He's good.

Going in the wrong direction, but he's good.

Phoebe moves through the group as medics from GCPD and ambulences wail, blues and whites and reds and ambers flashing along the entrance to the street, cordoned off by the police.

She looks to Cass. She motions to the rooftops.

Just about time for all little bats to make for a safer bellfry.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
There's a nod given over from Talia over at Cassandra and then she speaks quietly, "Watch your friend well. She can get caught up in things out of good intentions that are beyond her depth. Ensure that she has someone at her back to pull her out of it." Those words are spoken, and then Talia is going to head out as well. Leaving the bodies, the chaos, and the carnage in her wake to simply head off to whatever den of depravity she's residing in during her time in Gotham.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp took any money the sniper has as well, as he needs to make a stop at the store on the way back home, and get a few bags of dog food. He grits his teeth a bit and could probably flash some id to get him out, but figures a quiet exit is better, plus if he shows his badge then he has to file paperwork too.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
And no one wants to file paperwork.

Talia returns without further harranguing. Chimp finds his way out. Flamebird, presumably, actions her way to a better vantage point.

Balm and Orphan oversee the reuniting of the kids and their parents, with one little brown-haired girl in a pair of My Little Pony pajamas looks lost for a moment before recognizing her uncle Alex, in spite of his injuries.

"UNCLE ALEX! YOU CAME!" she cries out, throwing her arms around him as the family members reunite.

There would be a numbe of people exiting the Saint Patrick Slithers over the next week, following Alex's lead, and even though it hurts like hell, Alex Hyde, ex Slither enforcer, slings his niece up and over his shoulders.

"C'mon punky, let's go home. The Bats say I gottah keep honest from here on out."
