Date of Scene: 04 September 2022
Location: Cineplex Theaters
Synopsis: A pleasant evening at the movies is interrupted by the Marauders and a kidnapping!
Cast of Characters: Remy LeBeau, Rogue, Tabitha Smith

Remy LeBeau has posed:
To celebrate 'Sci-Fi September', the Bayville Cineplex is playing classic science fiction from decades past. Tonight they were showing a film that Remy was determined not to miss, and he'd let the word get around about it. An evening showing of 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan'! He'd resisted the urge to wear the Starfleet uniform that Rogue knows he has in his wardrobe, instead opting for a loose-fitting burgundy button-down and a pair of fitted jeans.

He's got the tickets in hand (he even paid for them) as he moves towards the concession stand, proceeding to hand them out and fetching his wallet from his back pocket.

"You want popcorn?" he asks.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is wearing her blue starfleet uniform skirt number. She's got her hair tied up in a bun on the crown of her head, and a black satchel with her medical toys in it. She's happy to dress up like this, with the black sheer stockings, and wedge heeled boots, she gets a lot of compliments, which she loves to eat up with a proverbial spoon.

Standing near by, Rogue just smiles at Remy and nods her head eagerly. "Yes, please!" She says of the popcorn, clapping her hands together excitedly, as her white bangs flow around her face in the warm summer wind, with the people around eyeing the excited Belle in her fancy costume! She happily waves, or smiles at any of them who she catches staring, or commenting toward.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Free movies and it's a classic. Sure it's almost older than Tabitha's dad but she does respect Shatnerian arts as muich as the next closet nerd. Hence showing up not quite in costume. Black jeans and boots over a red motorcycle jacket. Double breasted enough it could pass for the uniforms introduced in that movie. It's not a red shirt, and it did still kill omeone in the movie. Though like that stuck.

The blonde keeps her glasses atop her head while claiming her Remy provided ticket and she even snags a handful of popcorn while it's there. Though she did smuggle plenty of cheaper candy and snacks in her jacket. Those pouches she sews into her linings always handy.

"From hate's heart I shout at thee! Gimme!" she jokes and giggles.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"'ey, dat's de spirit, Tabby-chat," Remy says with a grin, cocking his hips out to bump them against the explosive mutant's as he walks past her. In the same motion he kisses Rogue on the corner of the mouth, murmuring something in her ear in Acadian French.

He spends big at the concessions stand. Two big buckets of popcorn for them to share, drinks, ice creams. All of it in a big cardboard tray for ease of carrying. As he turns back to the pair, he's grinning from ear to ear behind his dark sunglasses.

"I love dis movie. My - well, we used to sneak into de cinema back when I was an enfant. I 'member dem playin' dis an' I wanted to be a starship cap'n so bad. Loved de Star Trek ever since."

As he's speaking, there's a raised voice of complaint outside the glass front doors of the cinema. The Cajun tilts his head to try and get a look, before shaking his head dismissively.

"People gettin' drunker earlier dese days, non?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue gives a grin to Tabitha, as she walks along in to the theater, following after Remy and waving to a group who are eyeing her closelely. She pulls out her phaser toy and makes a beeping noise at them before holstering it again on her right hip.

She lunges a few steps to catch up with the Cajun at the food counter, before smiling at the employees behind it.

Her eyes go huge as she sees Remy spending all that cash. "God, the prices at these places... it really must be where they make all their damn money..." She mutters before she smiles at Remy.

"You're gonna enjoy the surprise we got waitin' at the Starport place then, ya better put on your Captain uniform for that one..." She says playfully before glancing toward the noise too.

"Lets at least wait t'do that until AFTER the movie, otherwise we'll just snore the whole way through it..." She speaks of boozing.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"We snuck into places too. Not hard but we didn't get picky about the movie. Beats freezing for a couple hours if you go from theatre to theater in an all night multiplex." Tabby states, a flick of her glasses putting them back down on her nose.

"Just not the damn Three Dee stuff. I can't wear the glasses. Migraine city and I get enough of them as it is. Going psychic just made that worse!" she admits and flips off the vulcan salute like they were Dio Horns as Rogue guns the other group down. Tongue out like Gene Simmons. Mixing up her nerdery deliberately.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"I'm not gonna drink durin' Wrath a' Khan," Remy says with a stern shake of his head, "Dat's like fartin' in church. 'Tirely disrespectful. Never would. Never should. Anyway, I got dese milkduds an' if you put 'em - "

Before he can finish the sentence, those big glass doors at the front of the cineplex explode inwards in a shower of glass. Screams fill the air and people immediately begin to flee deeper into the building, pushing past one another. This gives the Cajun pause, and he immediately focuses his attention on the chaos.

Stepping through twisted doors is a man - so tall (well over six feet) that he has to duck his head to pass through the door frame - wearing a bandolier over his bare chest. His hair is dark, and in one hand he holds what looks like a rifle cobbled together from random parts. He holds it against his shoulder, levelling it right at Gambit.

"Cajun! You're not runnin' anymore, boy!"

And he fires! Not bullets, but a blast of energy that practically detonates the concessions counter. Remy dives to one side in a shower of popcorn, attempting to push Tabby and Rogue to the ground with him as he goes.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is making faces at the pair of kids waiting for their parents to get their candy and popcorn. The two kids are staring at the STarfleet Medic with silly looks being shot back at her.

Of course, all of this happens right as the explosion occurs, and she isn't given a chance to do much before Remy is diving toward her back, to push she and Tabi down!

Rogue grabs one of the kids and takes them down with her, while the other is shielded behind their father! Down in a crouch now, covering the child, Rogue looks up to see the big guy who'd just fired that energy blast, her white bangs wild around her face.

Of course, now her expression is changing, as anger starts to flood in to the Belle's being... as it is prone to do in situations like this.

"Son of a bi..." Rogue starts to say while she stands back up, glass falling off of her shoulders, she releases the boy to his parents, and then looks toward Remy, and Tabi. "Get people t'safety." Is all Rogue says before she drops her Medic bag on the ground, along with her holstered phaser, and just starts to fly-rush the man with the pulse rifle!

Tabitha Smith has posed:
It's not so much the explosions and shrapnel and Remy tackling the two Southerm girls to the ground that's annoying. It's the sjear noise from the sudden psychic terror filling the place.

There is an attempt to focus and send a kind of telepathic fire alarm out to everyone but how well that works remains to be seen. There's enough people running already that maybe the real explosions are doing the job. Someone in a cheap uniform hitting the firealarm on the way adding to the noise.

"Well I think the evac is gonna take care of themselves." she's sending maybe a wide image that the area the guy with the rifle and the X-men are in is already collapsed so they can avoind running in their way.

This Leaves Tabby just annoyed enough and headachey that she throws her first bomb to try and disarm the man and destroy the weapon before he can shoot Rogue, Remy or even herself.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy's face has almost drained of color. Behind his glasses, which are now askew, his eyes are wide like a prey animal that suddenly finds itself backed into a corner by some brutal, cunning predator. He doesn't immediately hear what Rogue is saying to him, eyes fixated on the tall man with the rifle as he steps forward - boots crunching on shattered glass. He rests the gun against his shoulder, a sneering smile beneath the thin, black handlebar moustache he sports.

As Rogue charges him, he extends a free hand towards the broken televisions and computer monitors that make up the concession stand. They seem to move of their own accord, hurtling through the air towards him and reshaping themselves. Just as the Southern Belle reaches him, he brings a new weapon to bear - a sword, pulsating with electricity, which he swings through the air at her shoulder just as he moves to avoid her attack.

On the ground, Remy turns to stare wide-eyed at Tabby.

"I gotta go ... I - I gotta get outta here. Now."

As Tabby hurls her bomb through the air, the air seems to ripple of its own accord. As though there was the aftershock of an explosion without an actual explosion. The bomb detonates in the air as its struck, and a woman with dark purple hair and what looks to be a metallic bodysuit emerges from the sudden cloud of dust raised by the shockwave.

"Tsk tsk tsk," she calls, shaking a finger at Tabby, "No fair."

Next to the Boom-Boom Mutant, Remy swears under his breath and scrambles behind the smoking ruin of the concessions counter.

Rogue has posed:
One's left leg is extended out behind her, her right bent at the knee with her knee angled downward! Her left fist is out ahead of her, and her right is tucked up by her chest, as she flies at high speed toward the man, just as he brandishes that makeshift bladed weapon!

The Belle takes the strike to her shoulder, but she also rams right in to the man who'd seemingly made all this mess of her night out! She hits him hard, even as his electro-sword hits her shoulder hard too!

Rogue ends up rolling down to the ground, bouncing through her collision with him, and comes up on to her hands and knees, her hair coming partially undone from the wild actions now, leaving the brunette tresses wild around her shoulders now, her white bangs covering her face as she tries to stand up again on to her wedge-heeled shoes! A super mean serious expression falling across her features, as her hands ball up in to fists!

Tabitha Smith has posed:
There's a smirk back to the metal looking chick. "I know right. How dare your target have friends that wanna help him!" Tabby taunts to the woman. "Maybe you shoulda opened with a smile and a wink. Might get more than an angry or worried look." she states and picks herself up off the ground.

Remy's worried getting a smile and a sense ofr reassurance beamed to him and Rogue. The blondes often ill advised sense of fearlessness at the wrong times.

"We got your back Remy, most folks are getting clear and  ain'tlike we haven't had a hairy fight before." she states.

Theer's a look back to the girl with the purple hair and shiny bodysuit. "Love the outfit by the way." she states and with a grin lobs another bomb underarm up to the roof, blowing it and trying to bury the woman in what comes down. Another charging incase of stupid damn annoying telekinesis.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
The man with the sword - Greycrow - is not as strong nor as durable as Rogue. When she strikes him, he tumbles backwards over the glass and lands in an uncomfortable heap near the doors. Despite the numerous bleeding cuts to his bare torso, he nevertheless rises to his feet with gun and sword in hand. The pulse-weapon is leveled at Rogue again, another explosive burst fired in her direction.

"Arclight!" he shouts to the woman in the silvery suit, "We've got multiple muties!"

"Good," Arclight sneers, before she taps her earpiece and speaks into what must be a comms system of some kind, "Vanisher, we're switching to plan B. Remember to - AGH!"

Before Arclight can respond, Tabby lobs another explosive at her. This one she doesn't catch, and when it explodes it brings one of the plaster-and-concrete columns supporting the roof down on her. She dives out of the way, but not before some falling chunks of rubble strike her. There's a grunt of pain as she pushes herself up on one arm and levels her hand at Tabitha, sending a vicious shockwave through the air right in her direction!

Meanwhile, Remy rises up behind the counter with a deck of cards in one hand. He reaches for one, holding it in front of him as the Six of Clubs begins to flicker and glow with violet energy. Before he can throw it, however, a bald man in a t-shirt and jeans appears out of thin air behind him. His features are marked by an ornate black tattoo that covers his scalp and forms a thick, black band across his eyes. Similar tribal tattoos run down his bare arms, which he suddenly wraps around Remy's throat from behind.

"Gotcha, Cajun!" he whispers in a sinister tone, before both he and Remy vanish!

Rogue has posed:
With the column coming down from Tabi's blast, Rogue is up in the air and flying toward it! The pulse shot from the big man's gun goes sizzling right at the Belle, but her Seventh Sense ability has her twirling underneath it, and coming right back up to place her hands on part of the stone rubble falling from the column!

Rogue catches it, and sweeps her body up in to the air, then tosses it down at the man with the pulse rifle! "Why don't ya leave a negative review on Rotten Tomatoes like everyone else!" She shouts back at him, before rushing toward him again, this time flying at a downward angle, as she was up near the ceiling...

She doesn't know that Remy's been taken yet though, assuming that he's behind the counter helping people, or some such! She's also assuming that Tabitha has a epic battle going on with whoever that other Dame is...

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"Vanisher?" Tabby is a little distracted by that as Arclight's own blast knockes her tumbling back. "Porter you asshole, how much they paying you for this bullshit!" she yells in case he;s still in audible range but that guy can get get some major distance. So shhe tries and psik scans to find if she can detect Remy.

Tabby at least knows the teleporter. Waaaay too well. But Arclight. Tabby doesn't nor is she currently in a mood to put up with their crap. The next bomb is not a bomb and as Tabby dusts herself off shoves a hand forwards and the plasma comes as a concetrated set of streams from each fingeer and spirals on multiple directions like someone launched missles in an old anime. There's a bloody nose dripping down Tabby's lips and chin but she's annoyed and focused cause her friend is being nabbed by a former mentor and that ain't cool. "Where they go? Tell or I rip it out of your mind!" hardcore Tabby.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Vanisher is gone, and no response is given to Tabby's query.

Arclight, however, sneers at Madame McSplode with a look of pure derision. She shakes her head, brushing purple hair away from her blood-smeared forehead. She spits a loose tooth onto the ground, laughing to herself.

"You're not gettin' a thing, Tabitha. This is a whole lot bigger than you and your mutie friends. And besides, the Cajun's a rat - we're doing you a favor."

Meanwhile, Greycrow is struck by the piece of masonry Rogue flings at him. He hits the ground with a thud, clamboring to his feet and struggling backwards. He presses his finger to his ear.

"Vanisher! Hard out!"

A moment later, the tattooed man appears for another brief moment. His hand rests on Greycrow's shoulder before the pair of them disappear right in front of Rogue's eyes, leaving only Arclight behind in the now-deserted foyer.

Rogue has posed:
Instead of colliding with the man, Rogue watches him, and the tattooed one vanish together. She lands on her boots again, before spinning around to look for Remy. He's not at the concession stand... This has her then looking toward the woman that Tabitha has been dealing with.

Now Rogue is rushing toward her. "Who the hell are you people?" Rogue shouts as she glances toward Tabitha, "Get answers outta here, Tab!" The Belle says before she diverts course and starts toward the counter area.

With a slap of her hand down on its corner, Rogue looks behind the counter now, seeing several employees crouched down behind it, and no Remy.

"What, the hell..." The Belle gasps out, her hair a mess, her costume torn over her shoulder where she took that hit from the sword...

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabby totally would have ratted Vanisher out back in the day. But she maybe kinda got distracted by a goddamn Brood Invasion and took the chance to abdondon Telford like he abandoned her to get away from teh bugs.

There's a wild snarl back at Arclight and Tabby just stares are her. More than that she's putting that telepathy to work. This is usually something Emma, Jean, And even the professor would be more skilled at but Tabby maybe is not in a mood as she crackles with energy and her eyes glow blue behind her irises.

<<Bitch, try not to think of where your boy toys are taking Gambit. You know what I can normally do with my brain right. Imagine if I tried using my power inside your brain?" she states and lets another ball of plasma float around her with a though of what might happen to someone else's energy used to ignight the BOOM.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"The Marauders," Arclight answers Rogue, still sneering, "Surprised the Cajun never told you about us. We're old friends, after all. Go back a long way. You might even say we used to work together."

Arclight winces as Tabitha invades her brain. There's protection in place there, to be certain. She hasn't put it there herself. Some powerful, outside force seems to have set up shields of some kind. They reverberate back at Tabby with dissonant, noisy feedback. But through it, there are glimpses of something, too.

A place up north. Far up north. Where civilization in sparse.

A non-descript looking metal building, viewed from a helicopter.

A dark room, lit with eerie green light. Unidentifiable bodies suspended in tanks.

Then Tabby is thrown out again, and the doors are slammed shut behind her.

"Nngh! Get off me, damnit!"

Rogue has posed:
With Remy not behind the counter, Rogue can only assume that he's either run off, or been taken away. She gives another quick look around the trashed lobby of the theater, then looks back to where Tabi and this Arclight woman are...

Right after Tabitha is disconnected from her mind link, Rogue's balled up fist comes swinging in to view!

Of course, her training keeps her from blowing the woman's head up with the punch, she pulls it, making sure to just make it hurt quite a bit to the average woman of that same size... or so she'd hope.

"Either way, I'm gonna make sure you hurt for this bullshit..." Rogue growls at the woman still here.

"Where'd your friends go?" Rogue asks then, as menacingly as she can.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"We got a lead." Tabby yells tiredly yells to Rogue and turns her gaze back on the silver clad woman. "Rogue, let hher have a love tap!" she says and makes it sound way more evil than it should. Between the two X-Women it might not be fun to be Arclight and maybe she's been thrown under a bus.

"Now you gonna give us the rest or we get to play bad cop worse cop" she states and wobbles on her feet unsteadily to the two women and with that eveil smile ponts a finger and a small arc of plasma flame ignites like a blowtorch. "Wanna see how durable you are. I could probably melt Colossus with a little time and you only wear a thin layer of fabric." she threatens and inches that flame closer.

Maybe she's been hanging out with X-Force a bit much.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Same place I'm going," Arclight says in a matter-of-fact voice, "You can't keep me here, skunk-stripe."

The blow to her face cannot be dodged, and the purple-haired woman simply turns her face to the side with a grunt. But she's tougher than she looks, and she laughs through blood-flecked lips at the strike.

"Do whatever you like. You can't kill me. You can't keep me here."

She opens her mouth to say something more when there's a hiss of a voice through her earpiece. Her eyes widen and she turns her head, addressing no one it seems.

"What? No! I don't want that! NO! Hard out, Vanisher. Hard ou- argggghhhhhhHHHHHHH!"

All of a sudden, Arclight is wracked with pain. Her body tenses, contorting against itself. She screams a horrific wail even as she's pinned there on the ground, body seizing up seemingly against her will. At once, the moisture seems to disappear from body. Dessicated suddenly and completely, almost like she's aging rapidly before their eyes. Moments later she is little more than clumps of ruined matter and dust within the silvery suit.

Everything is silent.

Rogue has posed:
With the Police sirens rolling in outside, Rogue shifts her gaze from the wide open front facade of the Theater, back to the woman on the ground in front of her. That's when the contorting starts, following the shouting...

Rogue rocks back and forth from her left booted foot, to the right, as she just sneers at what she sees. When it's all said and done, the Belle tears her gaze from it, and puts her eyes on Tabitha. "Who the hell was the big guy, and the tatt'd guy?" She asks. "We gotta..."

Thoughts rush through her mind, before Rogue starts to run over to her things she'd dropped on the floor. "Come on, we gotta go tell the others. Maybe the Professah can track them down..." She says, snatching her bag up off the ground, along with her phaser toy. She starts to pull her car keeys out of the bag, as she's moving toward the open front, her boots crunching glass and broken debris beneath her feet as she goes, wild two-toned hair all a flutter in the wind coming in from outside.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
The woman being interrogated suddenly disintergrates and Tabby looks at Rogue. "That wasn't us right?" The flame on her finger never got closer than a foot.

The Sirens blaring and getting louder gets a nod. "Short bald buy was Vanisher. He taught me to be a thief mostly. Ex Brotherhood. Makes Kurt's bamfs look like stage tricks." she states and makes her own move to make an exit. "Who had the keys?" she asks. thankfully as Rogue gets them out= and Tabby squirms with the mess she realises is under her jacket. It was a nice jacket and dry cleaning can be expensive. It was a Van Dyne.

"I got some vague details but we're neading up north. Mauauders ain't a thing I heard of. Sounds piratey!" she adds on their
