Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Gabby Kinney, Jason Todd

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The first thing, upon walking into the Training Area of the Roost, is that someone has set up a fog machine; the area is covered with a mist-like weather pattern, fogginess thick as pea soup as people would have said.

The second would be the trail of salt that creates an outline of a circle.

The lights are low and colored a menicing red.

The sound of low, humming bass strings echoes overhead, adding to the trepedatious set up for danger in the Roost!

What in the world could be going on here?!

Gabby Kinney has posed:
After a nice day spent out in Happy Harbor visiting people, Gabby had returned to the Roost feeling nicely rested. Enough so that she intended to do some training. She'd even texted Jason asking him to come along so she could have someone to spar against because she figured most others were busy at the moment. Plus it was fun to annoy him at times.

What she hadn't expected was the fog machine that causes her to sniff the air with a little confused expression. Slowly she enters the training room, eyeing the circle and lights with a growing suspicion. "We're... not running a haunted house, are we?"

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd wasn't entirely certain why he was here other than being asked to come over for.. something? Having been out running down leads, he came over as Red Hood. Helmet under his arm, he wandered in, trying to find Phoebe.

Eventually he makes it to the training area a few seconds after Gabby. "Oh that's not creepy at all." A glance is shot toward Gabby, "I am guessing that our girl Wednesday is at it again?" He looks back out into the fog, looking for any sort of movement or shadows.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
QUOMODO TU SOMMONA ME EX ABYSSO, ut stolidum tuum canem instituas! echoes a voice from the fog, along with the soft THUMP, THUMP -- WHACK of something fleshy being struck!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! comes a squat form with violet and red skin, swirled like marble, and a pair of little cow horns.

It whacks against a barrier set up within the circle.

It turns around, pale gray eyes setting on Gabby and Jason as it squeals out! THe creature is terrifyingly.... little. Maybe a foot tall, its tiny batwings beating the air like that of a bee, but too fat to actually fly.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney stands there a moment watching, and listening, to the little incantation. Squeal? As it gets a bit louder and closer she reaches up to cover one ear with a little wince. "That would be my guess," she reasons as she strides a bit closer to the salt circle not seeming very scared. So long as she didn't break or cross it, right?

When the little creature slams into the barrier she crouches down draping her arms over her knees. "Oh it's just an imp," she declares with a small shrug. "Or a really tiny devil but probably an imp. Used to have these in the basement of a house I watched for a friend," she explains to Jason with a grin.

"Great for target practice!" Though in this case she just calls out, "Baaalm, where are you? Idu?" They were usually together.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd frowns slowly. He, too, winces at the squeal. "Delieverance much?" he mutters. Looking to Gabby, the frown doesn't disappaer. "Target practice you say." He reaches up to pull on Red Hood's helmet again. The optics and interal HUD power up and he looks at the thing in the circle. "So if it's for target practice. Are we shooting it where it is contained? Or is this just the callm before the rabbit is released for the hounds to chase?" he asks grimly. His pistols are already in hand. Still on safe, but in hand just the same.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
One: Is it weird to be called Balm when you are obviously not doing anything that is helpful or healthful?

And yes, target practice, which is where there is suddenly the form of a dog running through the mist. Ears down and back, blue eyes aglow in the dimness as the claws dig into the mats beneath its feet, teeth bared as what looks like a furry greyhound chases down the imp, who is crying out because it's being used as a fetch chew-toy - shaken a bit - and then Idu trots back into the fog a bit -- pauses -- releases the imp and bounds *BACK* towards Gabby, tongue out of his mouth and to the side as he passes harmlessly over the salt barrier and attempts to leap into Gabby's arms!

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I don't know if that's why this is here, but it's in the training room so it stands to reason..." The thought leaves Gabby entirely as she watches glowy-eyed Idu squeaky toy toss the imp further into the circle.

Just as she pushese back to her feet to look back at the newly re-hooded Jason, Idu turns to leap at her earning a laugh. Her arms stretch out to catch him as she croons, "There's Idu, such a good boy!" Not even realizing how it might look to Jason to have a glowing eyed dog leap at her right now.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd huh. He looks at the scene. The guns don't come up as the dog chases the imp. ".. whaaaaat..." is the reaction it earns. But He maintains proper gun - and urge - control. Looking at Gabby, he is frowning even if it isn't obvous under a helmet. Then again the frown is in his voice too.
He looks at Gabby get bowled over by the dog. "A friend, I take it?" To his credit, and Phoebe's, the few encounters of crazy shi* he's done for her. And helping kill the constructs summoned by the sorceror in Jessica's Lantern Ring, he's become a little less trigger happy. He'd probably be the only one to say that was not a good thing.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
<That's Idu. He's a Desher-iwiw, or Khufu hound.> Phoebe's voice whispers in the dark, and the fog clears a bit as Phoebe steps out of it, wearing brightly colored pajama pants that have tyranosaurs drinking tea on them wearing top hats, and a tank top that shows the ruined skin of her left shoulder, and she stretches one arm behind her head, giving a large yawn as she peers owlishly through her orange-rimmed glasses, and she gives a handy wave to Gabby and Jason.

<Did you refer to me as Wednesday?>

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney ruffles Idu's ears and lets him get the licks in that he likely was getting. "Whosa good imp hunting boy? That's you! Yes it is!" With such encouragement offered up she can only grin in amusement at Jason with an eyebrow arching. "Idu, Phoebe's dog," she begins to explain before the woman in question steps out of the fog.

"Hey Pheebs. I'm guessing he means like Wednesday Adams. Could be a cool secondary code name though if you ever feel like mixing it up. Better than a girl Friday." Besides, didn't Tony Stark have dibs on that?

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd holsters his pistols and takes off his helment again. "If we're not the ones etting practice in.." he looks to Phoebe, "Hey kiddo." He almost smiles at her. "Nice Jammies."
RHe looks to Gabby giving Idu all the lubbin's and can't help but chuckle. It is an adorable bit of PDA for the pupper.

Looking at Phoebe he jabs a finger at her, "You. Wednesday Addams. But with more colors in your closet."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
<I don't even know what day I was actually born on... always like Thursdays though. Thursday's child has far to go and everything. Wednesday was full of Woe.> Phoebe gives a wry little smile, and she leans on a staff.

<Thanks. These are me 'Alfred didn't catch me leaving the house' pants.> she offers as a joke as Idu gets some affection from Gabby, going form Demon Hunting Hound to Attention Hound in 2.2 seconds of wriggling.

<If you guys are looking for some practice, I could try to convince a couple more imps up. Tim's out on patrol, or else I'd probably just be going against the bags.>
