Date of Scene: 10 September 2022
Location: Balcony - Second Floor
Synopsis: Lorna and Kurt meet on the roof, and have a little chat.
Cast of Characters: Lorna Dane, Kurt Wagner

Lorna Dane has posed:
It had been awhile since Lorna had visited Xavier's school for the gifted. Quite awhile. After recent events she ends up here though needing some time to think. She's seated in one of the chairs on the balcony with a coffee mug purloined from the kitchen currently being held between both her hands. It wasn't chilly enough to need to wear a jacket out yet, but it was getting close. The warmth of the mug certainly helped to warm her fingers as she watches the sun setting.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
One might expect Kurt Wagner to bamf into someone's private space, but he doesn't ALWAYS teleport. In fact, currently, Kurt is having a nice walk...on the grounds below.

And now he's on the balcony.
"Guten tag," the blue-furred mutant says, hopping down from the balcony railing. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna Dane gives a little tense half-jump at the bamf. She was used to teleporters just not that particular noise from a teleporter. It's taken in stride as she draws a deep breath willing her shoulders to relax back into the chair once again. A smile is given toward Kurt, and she lifts her mug slightly in greeting.

"Good evening, Kurt. Of course you're not. I was just reminiscing a bit and thinking on things." The green haired woman shakes her head slightly looking out over the grounds. "A lot of memories here. How are you doing? It's been awhile."

Kurt Wagner has posed:
"It has," Kurt says with a nod. "Maybe too long," he speculates aloud, though he doesn't elaborate on that train of thought any farther. He looks out over the grounds. "A lot has happened since you've been away. Too much for me to elaborate on at length." He turns back to her and smiles as he gives a chuckling, "I would be here all night just to sum up."

Lorna Dane has posed:
"Oh, I know. They still keep a room here for me, which I appreciate, but most of my time is required in Genosha or the Embassy in New York." Lorna lifts her coffee to take a long sip before offering a rueful smile. "I'd really anticipated being a teacher here at one point. Things just went... An entirely different direction," she has to admit with her head tilting to the side in a shrug.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
"I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up with the news on that," Kurt says. "Got kids to look after, hearts to shape, all that stuff. I know I'm not allowed to teach them about Jesus, but I can try to at least instill 'love thine enemies' on a generation of gifted students who are going to face persecution from those weaker than they are."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna Dane smiles warmly in response. Her hand lifts to touch the Star of David pendant she always wore though it was generally tucked beneath the collar of her blouse. "I can understand that. There was a lot of harm done, a lot of lives lost, but we've rebuilt quite a lot. With a better foundation than before I would like to believe."

She tips up the mug of coffee she has informing, "Including a few exports. Genoshan origin coffee. I brought a few bags for the kitchen. Some of my staff run a Big Brother, Big Sister outreach program of sorts for the children there that have lost family, as well. We've gone through a lot but I do have hopes for the future."

Kurt Wagner has posed:
Kurt smiles. "That's wonderful," he says, genuinely. He reaches out to offer Lorna a fistbump. "That deserves 'mad respect'," he says, obviously quoting what he thinks kids say. Poor Kurt.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna Dane reaches out to bump her fist to his with a smile. "Thank you. You're more than welcome to visit sometime if you'd like. The children too," she adds indicating the school in general with a little wave of her hand. "Perhaps I should see about setting up a field trip for those who might want to see. I know a few of the students here are from Genosha though, and may not wish to return even for a visit."

Kurt Wagner has posed:
"That should be for them to decide," Kurt says with a nod, agreeing with Lorna's assessment. He stuffs his hands in his pockets. Pockets were not made to hold those mitts of his. His thumbs catch purposefully on the seams. "Teaching is hard work," Kurt says. "Lots of grading papers, to say nothing of the extracurriculars. But, if I get the time, I would like to come to Genosha and see what has been done there."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna Dane inclines her head toward him once again. "You'd be more than welcome to visit, Kurt. Thank you." Looking to the view one last time she pushes up to her feet with a sigh. "As for myself I ought to get going. It was good to see you again."
