Gamma and Hammers
Date of Scene: 15 September 2022
Location: Gamma Laboratory
Synopsis: A SHIELD team faces off against the Abomination underground.
Cast of Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Betty Ross, Jessica Drew

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
As part of SHIELD's deal with Betty Ross, they were decommissioning as much open ended Gamma equipment as possible. Having found an open gamma laboratory, a team was being sent in to check the eqiupment, wipe all data, and decomission it. Betty was being sent along to make sure the job was done properly and to make sure that she had free reign to neutralize it as she saw fit.
In a mountain pass in the Adirondacks, a small group had been sent in by Quinjet consisting of a few agents, Natasha Romanoff, and a tech team.

Betty Ross has posed:
Betty is...not big and red. She's finding it oddly frustrating. Granted, Dr. Ross is more important to evaluating a Gamma lab than Red She-Hulk, but normally she's preferred to stay in the latter more often than not. Probably for the best she's not right now, though she is wearing her Hulk uniform underneath her SHIELD gear. Just in case she needs to shift. Spandex works for She-Hulk, but Betty finds she tends to get into more fights that require slightly more durable gear.

She's reviewing what data there is on the lab on a tablet, frowning to herself as she flicks through the pages.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
There's not a great deal of information. Mostly that it was something built in the 1990's when the US government wa slooking into using it for power generation. THen it had shut down over a period of budget cuts. A Hydra group that had been captured had been interrogated over noting that it had been a secondary site that Hydra had been thinking of expanding to for the purposes of R&D. EHnce a deconmissioning team sent in. Hydra hadn't made a move yet and the eqiupment was somewhat dated.
But still, better safe than sorry. Just as Hydra hadn't made a move didn't mean that someone else did. And what data was in archives could be accessed by anyone.
THe team was being dropped in to sweep, secure the sight, then decomission and wipe everything. Nothing taken back intact.
Landing near the entrance zone for the mountain, the rest of the way would be on foot. But only ashort distance. Natasha powering down the Quinjet

Betty Ross has posed:
Betty tucks away what little info there is as they arrive, stowing it in a pouch as she checks her sidearm quietly, making sure a round is chambered before she reholsters it, then gets up to follow the rest of the team off the Quinjet as they set down. "So, guessing this won't be politely asking them to stand down if it's HYDRA." she murmurs, folding her arms as she peers in the direction of the lab.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Standard operating procedure when dealing with HYDRA: Expect the Worst. As dark as Jess's life has been at times, she is essentially a cautious optimist, never expecting the worst but certainly preparing for it.

She wears a black tactical suit, slightly modified to fit her particular abilities with thin booties that allow her to cling to walls. And, cautiously optimistic carries a P-90 slung over one shoulder to compliment the ICER in an arm holster.

Standing last in line to deploy from the Quinjet, she does a final check, touching her guns and spare ammo packs. "I wouldn't turn it over with a by-your-leave, no matter how dated the equipment," she comments to the others.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would go to deploy the hatch as they would land, "IF they are, then we decommission them. If there are any officers, engineers, technicians, or the like we might want to try and take some prisoners if only to see how far they were using here. If someone else.. Then we see how much of a fight they put up. If we can get them to surrender, all the better." She would chuckle at Jessica.
"The sweep team will remain here with the Quinjet until we declare the area is secure, then they'll join us."

Betty Ross has posed:
Betty frowns thoughtfully. "Let's hope they don't have any active gamma energy projects, that'll make it more dangerous, especially if someone in there does something stupid." she agrees, following after Jessica and Natasha. She's aware she is not half the covert agent types they area and she doesn't want to mess them up by getting in their way. She can figure things out once the place is secure.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Though keeping it to herself, Jess likes the roster they have on the first sweep, especially if they do have gamma energy projects online. She'll take Betty backing her any day along with the well-rounded master assassin, Natasha.

Habit drives her to extend all of her senses as they debark, all of the tender tendrils of hearing, smell and sight that she equates to a web with her at the center. Last in line, on a hunch, unslings the P-90 from her shoulder.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would nod, "If they do.." Her face would be grim, "We likely wouldn't have detected them until we get inside. That's why the two of you are in the group." Betty, whom is a gamma beast, and Jessica, strongly resistant to radiation and toxins. Natasha goes to take her gun out as the group moves forwards. The first signs they get.. Aren't prettym>
Namely the massive reinforced vault doors that sealed the entrance had been ripped off like tissue paper.

Betty Ross has posed:
"....welp. That's not good." She studies the wrecked doorway, noting the way the metal is bent. "Ripped out, not smashed out. Something broke in, not escaped? Someone else might have the same idea as us, but less in a 'well-regulated science experiments' sort of way." She keeps alert but doesn't draw her pistol as the others ready their PDWs. It's not really her primary method of attack, after all, but she's not going to shift unless she needs to yet.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Amused at Betty's summation of the door's condition, Jess smiles grimly and nods. She takes a step closer to the door, gun held down but at the ready, then looks back at the other two agents.

"That looks like Hulk power or Mad Robot beserker. I'd agree, something wanted in...maybe looking for someone or something that was left behind."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would grimace, "Exactly. And likely recently as well. Within the last week at most. So we'll have to go in." Or they wait outside for however long it takes to get reinforcements in, which greatl slows down how quick their investigation will go. "Agent Drew, tkae point. I'll be on followup. Agent Ross.. Please stick close."

Betty Ross has posed:
Betty nods, turning more serious as she moves behind the pair, letting them take the front. Mentally, she's turning over in her mind who might have the strength to rip open a door like this...particularly gamma mutants that are currently in the wild. She can think of several that are definitely criminal enough to do something like this, if nothing else.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Hand raised to acknowledge being on point, Jess glances behind her at the others, <Com check, in case we get separated.>

Then the agent walks cautiously past the torn off doors, scanning for cameras and motion detectors as she passes the threshold. In a low voice, <Know anyone who might have done this?>

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would to keep her pistol up in front o fher. Not that it or any of the loadout wiht her woulddo much good against something that could tear off the door so easily.. As the group goes along, they hear bangs. Very, very heavy bangs.

Betty Ross has posed:
"Mmmm. Maybe our intruder is still here." she says quietly over coms, tilting her head at the banging. "Want me to Hulk up and go first, just in case?"

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would give a low nod at Betty, "Yes." Her pistol is in front of her, even as the trio go forwards. Natasha pauses a moment to give a warning up to the Quinjet force.

Betty Ross has posed:
Betty pauses to undo her shoulder holster, then slips off her shirts, revealing a close slinging bodice design that leaves her arms and upper chest bare, as well as her upper back. Having done that, she focuses, then grows, her pants and boots and the bodice shifting with her until she's at her full height. She shows a fierce, cocking grin at that, her attitude changing, before she strides forwards, heel to toe to stay as quietly as she can as she moves to peer around the corner.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Jess's footfalls are soundless as she walks down the corridor toward the booming sounds, rifle pointed straight ahead of her. She looks back once, in time to see Betty's transformation. The booming sounds apparently have put her on the ready.

<Count on it> she acknowledges to the two agents and steps over a downed door leading to a ransacked room.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
What the group sees as they go dowsn the corridor is a big man. A very, very big man on par with Bruce in his 'other' state. Big, green, brawny, but with what seesm like scales over his body. Almost like an amphibious looking face. He's casually hauling along a massive set of computer banks like they weigh nothing.

Betty Ross has posed:
Red knows that face. One of the oldest of the other gamma mutants, after all, right after Bruce. Emil Blonsky, codenamed "Abomination." Definitely not in prison at the moment, though that doesn't seem to stop it. A more patient person might wait for orders.

Red just walks around the corner and stops in the middle of it, in Emil's way. "Hi Emil. Doing some shopping?" she asks, folding her arms over her chest, but alert for violence.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Standing by Red's side, Jess frankly keeps the P-90 tilted upward toward the enormous man's head.

"I'd say he was on a spree, Betty, fresh out of jail."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Emil Blonksky grunts, "Red. You know, I always wanted to see about black. does it really cover bloodstains?" He would cackle over and moevs to casually let down the huge haul of things he was taking with him. "I could enjoy the fun. But it'll be your funeral. And everyone else's." The ex-Russian agent would go to bring his clawed hands up to a ready position.

Betty Ross has posed:
"Awwww, so we're not going to handle this with the power of friendship?" Red notes, bringing up her fists as well as she enters a stance, cockily. She narrows her eyes. "Suit yourself, I could use a good scrap." She shifts a foot back, then suddenly lunges, snapping a superpowered series of jabs at the green giant's face and midsection as she tries to capture his attention, shifting to put her back to the wall of the corridor as she tries to turn his back to the other SHIELD agents.

Jessica Drew has posed:
"And here I was already to give him a handshake," she gestures with the gun which she slings back on her shoulder, knowing the mutant to be impervious to even armor-piercing ammo, a split-second before Red launches herself at him.

The backview is perfect, Jess makes an agile spring to the side wall, then webs herself to the high ceiling to hang above the fight. By the second punch, she raises both hands to release a concentrated stream of bio-electricity at the back of his head.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Emil is going to charge over towards Betty, even as he's letting out a roar with his fists upswung! Jessica goes to leap up and over agilely behind him, not noticed as she goes to hit him hard in the back of the neck! This knocks him off balance,s ending him tumbling over even as the blast from Jessica has him rolling over right towards Betty's ready fist!

Betty Ross has posed:
Red steps to the side to avoid the telegraphed fist as Abomination is thrown off balance, stepping inside his reach to put her shoulder under the outstretched arm as she grabs hold it. "Jump off Jess!" she gives as a warning before she lets his motions become a smooth throw over her shoulder, trying to plant him on his back, then kneel on the arm in question, throwing a hard punch at his throat.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Using the man's back as a springboard as he is thrown head over heels, Jess releases herself from the ceiling to place herself far enough behind the man's head to not be grabbed by a hand grab. An additional stream of green energy englobes the supine man's head.

"Stay down if you know what is good for you? What are you doing here?" she demands after stopping the stream of energy.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
The fist goes to hit Abomination in the neck. His head snaps back an dhe grins. "Sure if you want." He goes to move to try and punch hard at Betty's torso. Then another fist going to try and slam up to hit her in the shoulder. Foot stomping then to try and snap on to her ankle to hold it in place as he would try to latch onto her arm to if possible snap it like a twig! He was -strong-. I fhe got a hit on it, she would feel it.
Jessica going to zot hard at him has his scales standing up on end, blasting through bits of tissue and hide, leaving up gooey ichor soaking out. "I'll get you next. Wait your turn."

Betty Ross has posed:
There's a sharp grunt as the fist slams into her torso, knocking Red back, but she's already starting to twist to roll with the next punch as it lands on her shoulder, spinning her until the stomp against her ankle pins her in place. She lets the momentum carry her backwards to take her arm out of grab reach as Blonsky goes for it, then kicks out hard with her other leg, aiming between Abomination's legs. After all, just because he's less vulnerable doesn't mean he doesn't have weak points still, especially on her scale of strength!

Jessica Drew has posed:
Relishing a good fight, Jess adds what she can to weakening their adversary. "I'll be right here," she taunts in return, "waiting for you.

Though she can land a punch that would knock most people on their cans and knock them out, she has nothing on the force that Red can produce, so she gives the woman room to work.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
SNAP! That hits Abomination hard. Even with that bit of his anatomy recessed, she's still kicking over with enough force to make a skyscraper jump a few stories. He goes to in turn try to rake his claws over her chest. "Not bad, Red. Cheap shot. I like it. Your boyfriend is way too uptight. You should try and help him relax a bit. He might appreciate it." Claws slashing, trying to take out a chunk of her!
Jessica Drew is for these few seconds of the engagement ignored.

Betty Ross has posed:
"EX-boyfriend!" Red snaps, her arms coming up as the claws slice at her chest, digging into the exposed flesh and leaving some bloody lines behind before they start to heal over, along with her bare arms getting clawed, before she kicks out hard at the foot pinning her to try and break free and shove herself back to slide along the floor, before rolling back to a crouch, trying to keep Abomination between her and Jess to keep giving the she spider openings for more punches and zaps.

Jessica Drew has posed:
In the midst of the mayhem, Jess smiles at the vehemence Betty says ex-boyfriend. Who doesn't like a bit of juicy gossip?

Admiring how Betty shapes the fight to her advantage, the spider-mutant dances in to kick the scaled monster in side of the neck, topping the the blow off with an additional spider blast. She has no compunction about giving Red the lead in the fight.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
It's a tag team. Where Betty leaves an opening, Jessica strikes. Where he's blasted raw and has skin down to the bone, Betty punches. It's effective. But tissue is already starting to knit and regrow. As Betty goes to smash into him, driving him back with her blows and Jessica is rendering part of his body numb.. Abomination goes to bring his hands up in the air, readying to take them together for a sonic thunderclap!

Jessica Drew has posed:
Ah! Jess knows what he likely intends to do.. With a gesture that has become automatic after much practice, Jess aims the inside of her wrists at Abomination's hands. A silver thread shoots glittering into the air, directed by an adroit swirl of the agent's hand. Instant handcuffs.

Betty Ross has posed:
And now Abomination's hands are out of action...meaning he can't defend as easily when Red charges forward, then leaps, coming down on his shoulders as her legs lock around his neck as she tries to bring him down to the ground in a scissors hold, her powerful legs squeezing to try and choke him out.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
He could rip Jess' webbing in a few seconds if he had the moment to focus. But not with her piling it on and blasting mor eand more of it, covering his hands up like they were wearing oven mitts. This lets Betty go to charge over into him, snapping her legs hard about him as she would start tos queeze as he would be slammed down HARD!

Betty Ross has posed:
Red grits her teeth as she holds the grip, even when he's clawing at her legs, keeping up the pressure until the Abomination finally passes out. At least temporarily. "...I think we're gonna need the big cuffs..." she grunts with effort.

Jessica Drew has posed:
After a moment's consideration, Jess adds to her web cuffs and then tags his feet together with webbing. If need be, she will render him into a cocoon to keep him in place. "Hustle him into the holding cell for supes while he is out?" she proposes to the other two agents.

"I'll take his feet, Agent Ross."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
He's down now. Natasha would grunt down at the unconscious Abomination, having been shooting at him to no real effect. "I suppose that we'll need a containment group for him quickly. We don't have any idea how fast he can get mobile again."

Betty Ross has posed:
"Pretty damn fast. He's got Hulk level regeneration. Lack of blood flow will keep him out for a few minutes but he needs to be restrained." Red releases her hold, getting to her feet as Jessica webs him up, then offers her a fist bump. "Excellent idea, Agent Drew. I'll get the top." Then she'll pick up her end and wait for Jess to do the same so they can hustle him out to the Quinjet holding cell.

Jessica Drew has posed:
"Will the Quinjet's holding cell for supes contain him? We have had some biggies in there." She lifts his legs with a grunt but she has been known to pick up a car and throw it in anger. What's a few tons between friends.

Hands around his ankles, she starts to shuffle backward quickly and then thinks better of the position.

"Wait!" the agent poses his feet on the ground and turns with an arm around his shins and the other around his calfs. "I can move more quickly this way."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
The group is able to working together quickly get Abomination up tot he surface and restrained enough that he won't be able to get free without some effort. And by then a properly eqiupped Quinjet will be scrambled to pick him up to take him to lockdown. And he'sg one to the trouble of getting all the eqiupment together, even, for them!
