Cast of Characters: Jamie Madrox, Kitty Pryde

Jamie Madrox has posed:
Just outside X-Factor Investigations, Jamie Madrox is sitting on the curbside in a pair of gray sweat pants, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt, his jacket draped over his duffel bag that sits on top of his lap.

He's waiting for Kitty, with whom he's going on a roadtrip! she was going to pick up the car -- since she has access to a lot of different, fun models from the X-Mansion! -- and pick him up.

He takes a look at his phone, and then looks up.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty pulls up in a convertible. It's not the newest model, fancy or expensive. But the roof goes down, and the weather is nice enough that could be enjoyable. Especially if they aren't worried about making the best time they can. 80 miles an hour in a convertible can get old after awhile.

The car pulls over to the curb, and Kitty hops up to sit on the car door. "What do you think?" she asks, reaching down to pop the trunk. Her own bag is in there, and there is a cooler in the front of the convertible.

She swings her legs over the car door and hops down to the ground. She's wearing tennis shoes, shorts and a long sleeve top. Her hair is pulled back into a pony tail, and she has sunglasses on. She holds up the keys and jingles them, then gestures with them as if offering to toss them to Jamie in case he wants to drive.

Jamie Madrox has posed:
Jamie rolls to his feet as she pulls up and flashes her a grin. He tosses his duffel bag into the trunk and then his jacket onto the backseat of the convertible, reaching out to snag the keys from Kitty.

"I think it's awesome." He steps up to her and slides his hand around her waist, pulling her in to press a kiss against her cheek, smiling. "You did good, Kit Kat. You ready to go?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty gives Jamie a brief hug and then heads around the back of the car to the passenger side. She lithely hops over the door and into the seat. Because why use doors when there's no roof to stop you from hopping over it?

She pulls out a tablet from the glove box and puts it into a holder on the dashboard. "Have our route planned out, assuming you're not in a huge hurry. Can make a few stops along the way. And anywhere in particular you'd like to see we definitely will. Don't have to stick to this, just an idea," she says. "Though I do want to try some fudge at this one place I'd heard about that's on the way."

Jamie Madrox has posed:
"I'm not particularly picky," Jamie admits with a shake of his head. He hops into the driver's seat and adjusts it, revving the engine with a smile. He pulls his own sunglasses on and then drapes his arm behind Kitty's seat, pulling out of the parking spot. "We'll follow your itinerary unless we see something else interesting." He winks at her.

It takes a bit before they're out of the city, but once they are, the velocity starts to pick up as Jamie smiles against the breeze.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty watches the city go past before they finally can make it onto an expressway and get away from the Big Apple. "Goodbye, New York. Hello Deerfield," she says, giving a wave back to the familiar skyline.

Kitty turns back facing forward, and digs in the cooler for a pair of drinks for them. "So what's new and exciting? Any cases that I'm taking you away from for awhile with the trip?" she asks.

Then a moment later she gently smacks her forehead. "I like to think I'm pretty adjusted to you being you. But then I say something like that," she says, shaking her head at herself. Like Jamie going out of town would mean Jamie wasn't still there taking care of things?

Jamie Madrox has posed:
Jamie is about to say something back to Kitty when she smacks her own head and elicits a quick laugh. He doesn't glance over at her because he's driving and that's a good way to crash, but he does shrug.

"I don't think anyone ever really gets used to it," he says with a shake of his head. "Like, I think I'm the only one that can really internalize it. Maybe if someone _lived_ with me, they might. But." He shrugs. "In any case, there's a few cases that I left some dupes to work on. Missing mutant kids."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
She passes over a bottle of juice to Jamie, then opens one for herself. "I felt like I was pretty used to it. But sometimes, yeah, I just forget of the options available to you," she tells him.

"It's a pretty useful power," Kitty says, resting a hand on Jamie's nearest shoulder as they drive along the highway, the wind whipping their hair about. "Things like you and I can do... there's people who probably think it's not that much. I mean compared to Rogue's strength and flying, or everything that Jean can do. But with a little creativity, our abilities can go so far," she says. "Though, ok I wouldn't mind being able to fling things around with my mind too," she says with a laugh.

Jamie Madrox has posed:
"I've given it some thought in the past for sure," Jamie admits, taking the juice bottle and setting it between his thighs. "But I always come back to what I _can_ do and how much I enjoy it. I know a lot of mutants just don't like their gifts, but in my case? It's definitely built into my personality." He shrugs. His hand drops down and slips his fingers over the back of Kitty's neck, squeezing gently. "And yours are fucking amazing."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty smiles and relaxes in her seat as she sips from the bottle of juice. "It definitely has its moments. It would be nice if I could fly a bit more instead of just walking on air. But heck, that's still so useful. Though it took me awhile to work out how to do it," she says.

A semi-truck passes them, the trucker giving a honk of his horn which results in Kitty waving back at him. "I'm assuming that was flirting and not road rage," she says with a little chuckle. She leans over to the tablet and taps a few commands on it, a map coming up to show where they are.

"So have you been to Chicago before?" she asks. "Or is this going to be your first time? I didn't actually think to plan much in the city itself, but we definitely can. Go catch a Cubs game, definitely. Though they aren't anywhere near the playoffs this year."

Jamie Madrox has posed:
"It's a trucker and you're wearing really short-shorts," Jamie points out with a laugh. "I'm going to guess 'flirting' the more accurate one, if probably not _exactly_ that," he says, scritching art the back of Kitty's head.

"I've been to Chicago before a few times, even lived there for a few years, on and off," he says, though he probably means a dupe lived there for a while. "Looking forward to swinging around the city, though. When I was there it was mostly work work work."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Well we can definitely find some fun-fun-fun. I admittedly don't know the clubs and bars that well. I mean, I was 14 when I moved to the school so not really lived there at an age that I could do such things. But hey we've got the internet, and we can go explore," she tells Jamie.

Kitty lets out a sigh. "Would have liked to take Lockheed but figure he'd probably just as soon be able to fly around free at the school. Too much time spent with an image inducer looking like a cat if he came with us. Long travel isn't very fun for him like that," she tells Jamie.

Jamie Madrox has posed:
"Yeah, I can't imagine it's too much fun for the little guy to have to like, stick to the ground because he's supposed to be a cat. Being able to fly and not being allowed to sounds like the absolute fucking worst." Jamie shakes his head, tsking his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

He pulls his hand from behind her neck and then slides his fingers down her arm, over her palm, interlacing his fingers with hers as he drives one-handed. "You look up clubs and whatnot, we can hit the night for sure. Though I want to see your house from when you were a kid, too. Am I gonna get a tour of that?"
