Cast of Characters: Artemis Crock, Atrid, Thomas Blake, Jade Nguyen

Artemis Crock has posed:
The gps on the phone would take Atrid and Thomas only so far before it shorted out. They would find themselves on the seedy docks of a bad side of the city. There were several worn looking warehouses here but which one houses Artemis? Hard to say realky but doubtless there were clues. Only one had cars parked outside, others seemed clearly abandonned. Only had seen recent activity judging from the lights from within. At this time of night it seems there is no one around but don't let that fool you: The place is no doubt heavily guarded, it's snipers well hidden under blanket of darkness.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen looks around wearing his assassin's Creed meets Mortal combat cloak and mask combo with two dragons one of fire and one of us upon his chest the only color to his otherwise black outfit. "The one with the cars right? is that what you're bet would be?" He whispers his eyes open and his body and mind on alert.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake says, "I have no clue. I'll get in and do some recon and get back to you by phone text. You wait five minutes and then... let them know you're here, with no room for doubt. I'm going to scale the building and enter via the roof, then work my way down." He pulls the black, featureless mask of his stealth suit down over his face then slips into the shadows. He doesn't wait for a reply.

Artemis Crock has posed:
All is quiet although there is movement on one of the buildings. If they've been spotted there is no sign, but some figure dressed in black steps to the front, greeted by several guards who, after a check let him in. yup, front four heavily guarded how about the back?

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen nods his head softly to what Thomas says and starts counting down thinking and checking his phone periodically. His heart hammering he needs to save her he shouldn't have let her go alone. "Come on come on..." He whispers to himself as his left hand starts coating in Ice.

Thomas Blake has posed:
The font guarded? No big deal. If you knew where to look you might spot a shadow crawling its way up the side of the building. You might if you had really sharp eyes. For a moment. Thomas guessed he made it unseen so far as there was no bullet whizzing at him. Partway up, he stops in a patch of shadows and pulls his phone out to send a message he'd prepped.

<<Make some noise. Good luck!>>

He continues the climb. No sense waiting for those fool snipers all night.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen grins broadly when the text comes in. "Let's do this shit!" He shouts igniting the right hand and throwing balls of flame and streams of flame at the cars igniting them to try and blow them up.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake pauses to look at the pyrotechnics. "Okay... he dresses like an effing cosplayer but I have to say when you tell that kid you need a distraction, he gives you a distraction!" Mind back on business, Thomas." He peeks over the parapet and gets a rifle barrel jabbed at him. He yanks it, and the guard off the roof and listens to the thud. Not even a scream for his friend.

"You forgot your rifle... never mind." He sees the roof entrance is open. Taking the rifle he begins firing it into the air. Then he waits around the the corner of the entrance, waits for scurrying of little feet.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen smirks watching the guard fall from the roof or should he say thrown. Atrid starts tossing flames willy nilly catching anything he can ablaze laughing all the while as he carefully avoids the warehouse. the other hand starts freezing everything to the other side that he can reach.

Thomas Blake has posed:
A small group of men burst onto the roof shouting in some foreign language. Thomas smirks and slips nto the entrance as the last one exits, then shuts the door and locks it behind him. He fires through the door and hears screams and curses. Bullets penetrate the door as he runs down the stairs, throwing the rifle aside. Harder to shoot out a lock if you're afraid someone is shooting back. Now where the hell was Artemis. He finds a shadowy spot to look around.

Artemis Crock has posed:
As hell breaks loose on the ground, guards start piling out, yelling something and aiming and shooting their guns at Atrid. He's making a right scene and it means there are fewer guards guarding the prisons. Afterall half starved, tortured prisoners are a lesser threat than a crazy flame throwing, cosplay dressing mutant.

Tho as will have little problem taking down the guards who cross his path but once he drops dow; inside, he's in a long dim hallway. It branches to right and left and there are elevators in the middle of the hall, stairwells at each end with some sort of a map in the centre of the hall next to the elevators. Looks like the holding cells would be in the basement.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake walks calmly behind several guards, looks at the map. "Fuck." He hits a control on a panel and doors pop open. More confusion and a chance at freedom. Thomas looks at one of the guards he'd thumped and pulls on his jacket and skullie. He helps himself to the moaning man's pistol. He pulls back his mask and slips on stolen mirror shades, saunters to the elevator and hits the button and... waits. Isn't that always the way with elevators?

Artemis Crock has posed:
The elevator door swings open and a bell rings. A few people dressed in suits come out. As Thomas waits for the elevator, a guard comes huffing down the hallway, heading for the elevator. "You!" he says, pointing a fringe r at Thomas, "Have you seen anyone suspicious head down here in the past five minutes? There was talk of a security breach."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake says, I just heard gunfire from the roof. I have seen no one suspicious here. I was ordered to the holding cells. the controls have been hacked, look!" He points at the opened cell doors and backs into the elevator to hit the 'B' button. Thomas lets out a breath as the doors shut.

Artemis Crock has posed:
The guard blinks and frowns, adjusting his gun, "Hey..Don't think I've seen you around here before, are you new..?" but then he is distracted when he mentions hacked controls, diverting his attention to one of the cells. "Whu...?" he turns and marches off in said direction, the doors closing quickly before he can return.

The elevator is pretty old and shoddy and shudders and jerks a bit as it takes him to the basement. When it opens, he's in an even darker, spookier place that looks like it was a maintenance room converted in dank miserable prison cells. Most of the prisoners seem tired, starved, in pain.

There is a guard in the middle of the room and as Thomas steps in he arches a brow, climbing up from his post. "Hey you, what are you doing here?" he frowns, looking at his watch, "I thought next shift wasn't for another half hour.."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake fixes the man with a dead stare. "Are you fucking kidding? There's all hell breaking loose. A meta is blowing up the parking lot, the suits are crapping themselves and leaving. We have to get that stupid little blonde kid out of here to another safe house." He attempts to get closer to the man as he speaks, to try for a knockout. He reverses his grip on the pistol, to use it like brass knuckles, before he realizes he's wearing a jacket over a black stealth suit.

Artemis Crock has posed:
The guard blinks in surprise. "Uh..What?" he starts fumbling with his keys, pulling out the one marked 'C65'. "The hell they want with her? I thought the boss was planning on executing her tonight anyway.." but he's so busy with the keys and processing all this info about an attack outside that he doesn't see the brass knuckles til they connect with his chin with a resounding 'Crack!' He yelps in surprise and pain..Before stumbling to the floor unconscious, the keys clattering to the ground next to him.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake grabs the keys and fiddles looking for C65, also seeking the door. He finds both quick enough. He stops before the door and says, "Cub? Tiger girl? Artie," softly then says the hell with it and opens the door, shucking the jacket and hat. "Artie, you in here?"

Artemis Crock has posed:
The cell is pretty Damn dark and dank with the sound of water dropping somewhere. There is no light or even a window to let in fresh air and it smells terrible. It's way too tiny and consists of a tiny toilet to one side and a little metal cot with a thin and threadbare mattress on it. There lays Artemis, huddled in a corner, looking thin and tired and scared and weak, her body covered in bruises, dressed in a skimpy thin hospital gown that only degrades her psyche even more.

Her eyes dart around nervously, staring unfocused, confused as he opens the door, shrinking back against the wall, "No..No more! No more.." she shakes her head and shivers, not seeming to recognize him in the half light, her eyes red and blood shot from the constant drugs and torture and pain, her wrists and ankles particular bruised and puffy as if they were stretched, sprained.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake is not the most nurturing person. Even if he wants to be. Atrid should be doing this but he's playing his part outside. He grabs the jacket and skullie and holds them out to her, hoping she recognizes him. The pistol finally gets some of its intended use, as he shoots out a CCTV camera. He tries to stand in the light by the doorway. "Here, put these on, and lets get out of here before your boyfriend torches the whole neighborhood. Come on get up. We gotta move."

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock blinks slowly, rubbing her eyes as she recognizes his voice. She can't see too clearly still with all the poking and prodding and blasting bright lights in her eyes all the time..But his voice is familiar. She bites her lip, grabbing the jacket, wrapping it over her thin and shrunken shoulders, nodding, "Thomas.lThank you.." she blinks, glancing around with a soft frown as she stumbles to her feet, grabbing the door frame for support. "Atrid...? Where is he? Is he okay..?" there is a note of alarm in her voice, suddenly alert in spite of her haggard and weakened appearance.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake smiles as she gets up despite the pain. He helps her by putting the skullie on her head. "I wouldn't worry about Atrid. They may need more assassins by morning but screw them. Here," He hands her the pistol and draws a knife. "If you kill a couple people on the way out, it'll do wonders for your self-esteem. Or knee cap the bastards." One hand closes around her arm in an iron grip, offering a little more balance.

He looks out the door, seeking a stairwell as the mask goes over his face again. "Let's teach this League not to abuse kids."

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock swallows and nods, knowing how dangerous Atrid can get when he's really angry. "Y-yeah..Let's..Let's go.." she still seems confused, lost, although she leans gratefully against his arm for support, shuffle-stumbling on her injured ankles like an old lady, pausing as she steps out to peer around.

"But you know, I'd really like to get my clothes and valuables back first, got important info on my phone.." she points towards a cabinet by the security desk, nodding to the key Thomas might still have, which presumably opens the corresponding door that holds her valuables.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake says, "They only keep prisoners near their gear in stupid video games. You can brick your phone. No one cares if you get out flashing your butt. Here, you got two minutes." He opens the elevator doors and wedges a chair in there good. "Where are the stairs? I'll watch them. Hurry up, Cub."

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock frowns, hobbling towards the cabinet, grabbing her clothes and phone which are shoved in a bag and nods, hurrying after him as best as she can. "Yeah, sure..So up huh? But you know, they're probably onto us by now..You guys were pretty loud..Maybe we should just head for the fire exits..?" but still he's more experienced and she'll let him take the lead.

She nods and points towards the brightly lit exits, "Gotta head to the main floor for the external exit but the second floor exit is less guarded.." yea, she's been nothing if observant. She winces as she puts too much weight on one foot then, gasping a bit, trying to cover her pain with a clearing if her throat, unsure if she can make two flights of stairs on feet that feel like daggers with every step but too stubborn, too proud to admit it.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake nods. Then he scoops her up, arm around her thighs. "Grab my neck. We need to move." Then he's moving fast! Second floor! He gets to the stairwell door, listens a moment and then draws a 'rang. "I may need to drop you fast."

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock blinks slowly, a bit surprised and annoyed as he scoops her up. "Uh..Hey!" she practically snarls, "What the heck are you doing..?" but there's no time to argue as the alarm suddenly blares when they are about halfway up the stairs. Guards are piling in from below and through the main floor door. The second floor door leads to a plus 15 with glass walls which would make 'em painfully visible to guards below but there aren't a whole lot of other options save the fire escape which is a dead drop, and the option of climbing to an upper floor..

She nods, climbing out of his arms rather gratefully, staring doubtfully at the catarang, "What are you planning?"

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake kicks out the window to the fire escape. He tells Artemis, "You have to hold onto me. I'm going to climb down. I can't do that and hang onto you. Understand? Get on my back. Hold onto my LBE straps. I'll be quick. H climbs out onto the escape and snaps the claws on his gloves out. "Let's go!"

Jade Nguyen has posed:
As Thomas kick out the window to the fire escape, the tide of guards piling through the main level door slows rapidly. Beginning at the doorway, they turn outward rather than inward. And then they begin to fall.

Flechettes, too small to be easily seen, are flung by the handful into the ranks of the guards. They must be poisoned, for the guards go down like wheat beneath the scythe.

A woman in a familiar green martial arts outfit with a stylized Cheshire mask walks in calmly. "The grounds are not yet secure." she calls, drawing a pair of pistols.

The guards on the second level start to fall when she opens fire: one shot, one guard.

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock pauses briefly, hesitantly, climbing onto Thomas' back, nearly slipping from a stray knife throw or bullet not sure which, that clips her shoulder. She yelps in pain, nearly completely losing her grip on him, about to gal, to a sea of guards..When an unexpected sa riot comes to their aid. "Huh, who's that up above?" but right now they gotta focus on getting out of there. Has Atrid cleared the ground level yet?

Atrid has posed:
Well no one can say CryoPyre was bad at distractions and diversions some people frozen and parts of buildings. Cars blown up and ablaze with a few thugs running around all aflame. "Where is she you shit heads?" He snarls pulling up his ice Nordic broad sword and slashing down a thugs chest blazing fist slamming into another thugs face. "Give her back, it'll be much easier on you." but his eyes there's something there an anger...a joyful light perhaps. The flames surround his right eye as his left encases mostly in ice. "I swore I'd protect her and you bastards made me break my word!"

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake Unceremoniously drops Artie into some buses. For his part he does a backward tumble, landing in shadows again, then tries to divert attention away from the beaten down blonde girl. A guard, screams and is dragged behind a corner, firing a burst into another guard. And then? Somebody better take up the slack. They need a lot more firepower than he brought.

Jade Nguyen has posed:
Jade Nguyen watches as Catman and the precious cargo slip out through the window despite her warning about the grounds not being secure. (She didn't know about Atrid outside...) The guards on the balcony rush the fire escape and she unslings a grenade launcher from her back.

Doesn't everybody carry one for emergencies?

A well-placed shot lands just at the front of the guards, exploding in a burst of rapidly-expanding green gas. She turns towards the main doors and leaves without looking back. None of the guards will reach the fire escape.

Once outside, Cheshire follows the sounds of commotion. And the flash of fire. More guards, a crowd of them. This will be close work. Claws only.

Three guards are down before the rest realize they are being attacked from two fronts.

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock oofs as she lands on the bus, and rolls to the ground, limping a bit on her wounded ankles. Another random explosion sends her flying away a few feet, losing her gun and she scrambled slowly, awkwardly to her wounded feet, reaching for the nearby knife with her equally damaged hands, holding it awkwardly to her chest.

"Gotta get outta here.." she grits her teeth, eyes narrowed upon a nearby guard who sees her and starts running towards her. She grimaces, aims and throws her knife into his gun arm, causing him to Yelp and stagger back. "Tch, no way I'm letting you get the better of me, ya freaks! " she staggers to her feet, grabbing a nearby flaming lamp poke for support. Fire. Ice. Atrid must be near..

Then she catches a sight of red and white hair and her heart flutters with hope. "Atrid!" she yells, running towards him..Before a guard kicks her in the back, sending her scrambling to the ground again, pointing a gun to her head. "Shoulda killed you when I had the chance.." he growls..

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen hearing Art's voice he looks up as he shoves that ice blade through a thugs stomach pushing him off no Atrid's not messing around he's taking no chances. Seeing her fall he charges forward throwing a jet of flames at the guy pointing his gun at her. "Come on ass hole gotta pick on a girl? Well go for the girl I love and you deal with me! Come on fight me if you dare or you can ask your barbecued and icicled buddies what happens when you do!'

Jade Nguyen has posed:
The tide of guards is becoming more distracted from Atrid and the escaping Artemis now. The fighter is a flash of green silk, the creepy white Cheshire mask hiding their face. But Artemis knows who it is. Golden claws are stained with blood, the green silk spattered with it as well. Not hers, but theirs.

Cheshire cuts her way towards Atrid, because she knows that's the direction that Artie will be moving as well. Guards fight her, a few shoot until her dodges only result in wounding their companions. It's slower work, but more of the guards become distracted this way.

Artemis Crock has posed:
The guard with his gun pointed at Art suddenly yelps in surprise at the unexpected plume of flame that sets him in fire. "Ff, I didn't sign up for this!" he turns and flees along with a good deal of other guards, who were not expecting to come up against such powerful and explosive resistance.

Art lost Thomas somewhere back there but he's fighting the good fight, finding his own way out while thinning the crowd.

And a third unknown guardian Angel manages to draw enough attention from above to give them a break in the chaos, a chance to break for safety.

Artemis ducks as Atrid's flames sail over her head, about to say something when something behind hun catches her attention. Quickly she reaches for another knife, hurling it at the guard about to shoot him from behind and smirks. "I got your back. Guess we're even now.." she smiles softly, lovingly at him as she tries to staggers again shakily to her feet, reaching out to him. "Atrid.." her happiness quickly turns to a look of surprise as she glimpses a flash of green coming towards her.

"Huh..You..?!" and then, with the adrenaline that kept her going thus far now run out, she cries out in pain, collapsing to her feet, her shoulder still bloodied, her face puffy and bruised with a black eye, her ankles and wrists terribly swollen. How on earth did she get this far, even..?

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen watches as the knife sails over his shoulder and hits another guard. "That you do love that you do and I have yours. I'd charge into hell and back for you, I'd burn the world to ashes to bring you home." He says smiling softly and adoringly at her than he spots Cheshire and raises a brow. "Who's that? And you know when I'm in costume you should probably call me CryoPyre." He teases playfully not that he really cares.

Jade Nguyen has posed:
Cheshire fights somewhat like Artie, only moreso. And the claws... who uses martial arts with metal claws, anyway. But it seems all she has to do is -scratch- one of the guards and he is down for the count. Screaming. In fact there's quite a lot of screaming by now, and quite a lot of incapacitated guards left in her wake. Between the fire, ice-blade, and all the screaming, the remaining guards are losing their stomach for this fight.

"I am here for Artemis." declares the woman's voice behind the mask. "Ah. Let me clarify. I am her to -help- Artemis escape. I am called Cheshire. Take her and go."

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen holds Art close offering his hand out. "Thanks for the assist, and ya know for clarifying I wouldn't have to fight you. Though you seem like you'd be fun to spar with." He says though any features of what he's feeling are pretty hidden by the sub zero type mask he wears on his face blue contrasting well with the assassin's Creed looking sleeveless hooded robe with two dragons on the front one of fire the other of ice. "They call me CryoPyre it's a pleasure to meet you Cheshire. I wasn't leaving without Art anyway, I'd walk through hell and back for her take on gods and demons themselves." He says picking Art up Bridal style as he starts to run. "Nothing makes people more afraid than burning to death." Looking down at Artemis. "It's alright love I've got you, we'll be outta here soon."

Jade Nguyen has posed:
The filtered voice behind the grinning Cheshire mask replies. "Yes, I know that you would. Leave with her now. I will ensure that you are not followed."

Fun to spar with? Cheshire is spattered with blood, and each one of those golden talons is dripping with blood. The guards seem to be regrouping, and she turns to face them. This time she draws a pair of long katana, now that interposed friendly forces are no longer a concern.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen smirks as Cheshire clearly doesn't quite get or know his idea of fun but a brow goes up as she says she knows what he'd do for Art. How could she possibly know that he's never met Cheshire before. With a quick glance back he shakes it off and keeps running Art close to his chest.

Jade Nguyen has posed:
As Atrid dashes off with Artie close to his chest, he hear the distinctive <sching><sching><sching> of sword strokes. Some clang against metal, but most do not. The screaming resumes, as Cheshire begins methodically cutting down every, last, standing guard.
