Synopsis: Noriko hides away from the night time world by 'sleeping in.' Jubes is making her pancakes but Noriko does not eat the pancakes!
Cast of Characters: Noriko Ashida, Jubilation Lee

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Noriko has long lost herself somewhere between the where and who of planning her and Jubilation's wedding.  Between that and doing some side investigation for the Duchess among her usual 'favors' like her laundry, since no one seems to like the noise of that business at night.  Anyways, somewhere between the perpetual and infuriating static cling of their socks and unmentionables and her job at the school...somewhere again...somewhere among worrying over Jubilation's domain and subjects.  Somewhere she has lost herself.

At some point, she stopped running just for fun.

Noriko realizes this as she stares at the inside of the coffin lid, unwilling to remove herself from its comforting scent and embrace.  It's night time, but Noriko has extremely abnormal sleeping patterns compared to a human or a vampire.  It's to be expected though.  By now, she should be bouncing into the kitchen for a-

Grrrrrrgle.

The stomach has spoken.  Noriko ignores it.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
These things come in cycles, maybe. Not long ago, it was Jubilation's turn to be down, but that's hardly the outlook she's known for. She has, once again, found peace in her situation and continues to thrive. While Noriko remains sequestered in the coffin she has, more or less, been forced to sleep in, Jubilee has set up shop in the kitchenette outside the bedroom. She's a resident now, neither a teacher or student, and this is her first fall semester without classes.

"Are you still sleeping?" Jubilee shouts, trying to overpower the music that she's blasting on a Bluetooth speaker on the kitchen counter. She's in rare form -- a rat's nest 'coffin head' hair situation, wearing nothing else but an oversized sweatshirt and a pair of those Japanese-style 'loose socks' she got off Amazon. Jubes is violently whisking the contents of a large bowl cradled against her breast as she rocks out to whatever song is playing.

"Get up! I'm bored! Entertain me!" Jubilee rests her case with that one.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Ugh.  Noriko realizes immediately that she had slipped into Jubilation's rhythm without realizing it, slowing down without realizing it.  The root of that thought gives the speedster pause, but a pause that passed by quickly for everyone else.  Of course she's not still sleeping.  She'd never be sleeping this long.  So now, whether Jubilation knows or not, Noriko assumes she does know that Noriko was lingering in the coffin.

"No."  Yes.  Noriko lifts her hands to give the top of the frame of the coffin a little push, shooting herself out of the foot of it where a flap swings open at the force.  She lands on her feed with a sort of sleepy, or is it lazy grace.  It's the sort of cool ease she epitomized in her jaded high school years...way back when...last year.

The speedster's hair is violently twisted about, which still seems to happen with the tiniest nap sometimes.  Noriko slow-fast pads her way barefoot into the kitchen as she straps on her gauntlets.  For her, it's a perfectly normal velocity, but for everyone else, it's an old fashioned cartoon on fast forward.

The very first thing Noriko does is walk up to Jubilation and wrap her arms around the violent whisker from behind.  Her gauntlets are bulky and inconvenient.  They weren't built for Ghost-in-the-Kitchen moments.  She has on a pair of blue cotton runner's shorts with a white stripe up the side and her black sports bra.

"What is this?"  High hopes are tied up in the Japanese girl's tone, especially after the last thing Jubilation cooked.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
"So, like, it's night time, but..." Jubilation stops whisking and tilts her head down so she can look into the contents of the bowl. "You all still like pancakes at night, right?" She looks up at Noriko and tilts her head to the side, ear to shoulder. The question itself is weird, implying that she can't remember the simple joy of breakfast-at-night.

"I'm making you pancakes," is Jubilee's explanation, delivered right in time to lean back against the speedster, a smile forming. "But, I mean, I'm one second away from dropping this bowl right now..." Jubes makes her point by pressing more of her weight back against Noriko, but it's all in jest. Seducing Nori while she's hungry? That's a fool's errand.

Jubilee steps forward, out of the speedster's embrace, so she can resume the whisking. NO LUMPS. "Hey, Nori... Do we /really/ have to invite Rahne?" she asks, tilting her head back to watch Nori, perhaps even to do a little puppy-dog-eyes routine. "She's, you know..." Vampire prejudices are tough to explain, but inviting a werewolf to her wedding... /to a mortal/ is just asking for trouble.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
I don't deserve it, Noriko thinks.  There's a vulnerability to the speedster, at least behind closed doors, more evident around the edges of her interactions, like how she seems to just be lost in her thoughts, that solemn air that continues to haunt her.  "What do you mean 'you all'?" she responds with lightning impulse, but it's an innocent confusion, nothing politically charged.  "Oh...Jubes I eat way more many times than other people."  Which apparently implies somehow that breakfast at night also is an obvious go?  According to Noriko it is.

"It's not her fault her mutation is like that.  She's not a real werewolf I don't think...Look, there are just-" she shoots through all these words but that look, those socks, those legs.  Noriko tilts her head, lips pressed together in uncertainty.

Noriko could maybe come up with a solution to this problem in the time it takes for her to push herself back toward her fiance, no definitely, but truth is she doesn't care.  "Can we not talk about the guest list for like...an hour and a half?"  She pleads as she steps forward to loop her arms back around Jubes in hopes to snare her and drag her with a little tug or two hintingly toward the bedroom.  Jubes doesn't actually move but an inch from each precise little tug.  Tug.  Tug.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
"You know," is Jubilee's answer to Nori's question about what she might mean with 'you all.' She is, unfortunately, no longer of this mortal coil, and each passing night makes those memories foggier and more distant. "I remember breakfast-at-night being, like, some kind of forbidden pleasure..." She can't quite contain her smile as memories of her mother and father flood her dried, decomposed synapses. That excitement and wonder produced from eating scrambled eggs and buttered toast for dinner. It only happened a few times, but it was always oh-so-sweet. It's a memory that she isn't willing to part with. Not yet.

"I know," Jubes replies, her shoulders slumping dramatically. She wanted to sigh but she didn't have any oxygen saved in her vestigial lungs. These nights, Jubes needs to plan ahead for any demonstrative exhale or sigh she might need. "But, like, what if..." Mutant or not, having a wolf at her wedding -- again, her wedding to a /mortal/ -- is not going to earn Jubilee any social points in the complex social structure of her kind. Her tone is tainted with the same uncertainty a child might have before her first day at school as she asks her parents 'What if they don't like me?'

But, it's just a moment later that Jubes finds Noriko drawing her back in. She clenches her jaw, but her lips curl upwards in delight. Jubilee, even with that rat's nest hair, still has what it takes. "Miss Ashida..." she teases, apparently quite happy about it. Jubilation turns to face the speedster, leaving the bowl of nearly-pancakes on the counter. "..." She looks down.

"Oh, the socks," Jubes drones, her shoulders falling a little. She purchased them partly as a joke, but also so she could occasionally rock the styles that are popular in Noriko's motherland. But, tonight? "...They're comfy!" Jubes announces, grinning from ear-to-ear as she does absolutely nothing to prevent the speedster's tug. After the third tug, Jubilee takes over for Nori, guiding them both towards the heavy wooden door that leads to the coffinroom. Click, clack, kisskiss, click, clack, thud. They're not even out of the living room before Jubes sends Noriko's first gauntlet to the floor. "I won't talk," Jubilee tries, kisskiss, click, clack. "...about the guest list..." Kisskiss, click, click. "...or anything else..." Kisskisskiss, clack. "...For the rest of the night." Thud. Jubilation gives the second gauntlet a gentle kick with her foot before yanking Noriko into coffinroom with both hands, causing them both to fall into the coffin together.
