Getting The Deets
Date of Scene: 07 October 2022
Location: Text Message Exchange
Synopsis: After running into Peter at Oktoberfest, Kitty has a text exchange with him.
Cast of Characters: Kitty Pryde, Peter Parker

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty comes into her room. She has a box of cereal and a half gallon of milk from the kitchen, and a bowl and spoon. Crunch Berries, of course.

Lockheed looks up at her from plush purple pillow that Rogue got him. "Want to get the fireplace going?" she asks the dragon as she goes over to open up the window to help make sure the room is cool enough the fireplace won't make it too hot.

Lockheed rises, stretching and going over to the fireplace. The wood is already stacked there. No kindling, but then they don't really need it. Lockheed breathes fire on the logs and they catch quickly enough.

Kitty settles on the bed, her phone beside her. She pours a bowl of cereal, but waits to add the milk until she pulls up a contact in her phone. Peter Parker. Kitty taps out a text message to him.

> Wasn't expecting to run into you, and out of the City. Was good to see you!

She adds the milk then and begins munching on it so the milk won't have time to make it soggy.

Peter Parker has posed:
A few hours after dark - the prime time for minor crime time in the city, and so your friendly neighborhood Spider-man is swinging along on patrol. He has already stopped a few purse snatchings, muggings, and the like, and helped one struggling young man impress his date by showing up and claiming to be a friend of his. He always had it out for the little guy, and was willing to pitch in. Not everything about a hero had to be buildings on fire.

He had just finished extolling the virtues of the studious young man to his would-be paramour when he felt the vibration of his phone. He twists a bit reflexively. "Uh, gotta go, I think I'm being told to pick up some milk on the way home!" He reaches out and thwhips his way up towards a roof top. There is only one person he'd imagine to be texting him at this time of night.

Dropping onto the ledge of the building to perch much like a gargoyle, Peter fishes out his phone to look at the message, surprised to find it is from Kitty Pryde. A smile comes across his lips as he sends a reply.

> Yeah, sometimes I brave the great outdoors! Was a nice event, and glad I ran into you. Funny that you also knew Gwen!

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty goes easy on the Crunch Berries as she eats them. Of course the "berries" are saved for last while she eats the part that looks like it could probably be served as cat food. But tasty cat food. Have to be careful eating it though as it tears up the roof of your mouth.

Her phone chimes and she looks at it, then taps out a message back.

> Yeah, was like two years ago at least. Might be closer to three. So time for you to dish! What's going on with you two? Give me the details!

Peter Parker has posed:
There is a soft laugh from Peter as he looks at the screen. "Yeah, it was a surprise to me too," he says, to no one in particular, as his thumbs start to work out a response.

> Long story short, we've known each other for a long time, and a few weeks ago just decided to see what would happen if we tried to just relax and be. And it worked out better than I could have imagined.

Peter lets loose a long sigh. He really was truly happy for the first time in a really long time.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Most of the Captain Crunch is gone now. Kitty picks out the last few pieces and then gets to enjoy nothing but Crunch Berries. She tried the actual cereal that only has Crunch Berries. It just wasn't as satisfying as making the bowl that way herself though.

Her phone chimes again and Kitty checks it. She finishes off the cereal first, setting the bowl aside and then taps out a reply.

> Great, happy to hear it's going so well! You were really nice and she seemed so too when we met at the party. You know I wasn't going to mention the comic book, wasn't sure if you were on a first date or something and weren't sharing that stuff yet. You know how people can be about comic books. Lead figures. Owning several dozen sets of dice just because they are cool colors!

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter tilts his head as he looks at the phone. How considerate. Typically Parker, Peter never really entertained the notion that their prior meetings were anything vaguely date-like - cute girls like Kitty rarely showed an interest in him.

> Oh, I wear my nerd-dom on my sleeve, no way to hide that. She isn't quite as geeky as I am, but she has her quirks too.

> Are _you_ the dozens of dice in cool colors type? I know you're a comic book person, but I don't want to assume that you have ALL of the doms.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
It will take about a minute for a reply to come to Peter's phone. When it does it's a picture of a bed with a dark green blanket on it. In the foreground are 10 different dice sets, each containing the various sided dice you would expect. Some are blues or smoky greys or greens or purples. Kitty seems to like Autumn colors. Some are more exotic, with color gradients or are sparkly.

In the background can be seen a stuffed animal of a bear cub wearing a Chicago Cubs hat. There's another beside it, one that looks more realistic and seems to be some kind of small purple dragon, curled up and posed with its head on the Cubs plushy.

> Oh yeah. I don't really play that stuff much anymore, just don't have time. My friend Doug and I used to run a lot of campaigns when we were in school.

Peter Parker has posed:
Frowning at the phone, Peter thinks for a moment. He could just ignore it, but the gentlemanly side of him wants to respond in kind. The responsible side of him tries to figure out if he should send an old photo, but he does not really have any good selfies to send. He glances around for a moment to make sure that no one is around, and then hops back onto the roof. He pulls his mask off, takes a quick selfie with the night sky and moon in the background, and then slides the mask back on. Sure, his hair is amess from being matted down under the mask, but it is an honest photo of him at the moment. And does not exactly show the Spider-tinged neckline of his costume.

Zapping the photo off towards Kitty, he sighs for a moment and then responds.

> NEEEEEEEERD.

> J/k, sounds like fun. I haven't done that at all, same reason. Too busy. Maybe some day I can get back into it, but just not sure when I'll ever be able to stop or slow down.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty has cleaned up the dice, returning each to its bag and stowed them, by the time Peter's picture arrives. She scoops up Lockheed and moves over to one of the chairs in front of the fire, setting Lockheed into her lap to curl up as she enjoys the fire.

> You so need a comb, Mr. Parker!

> So are you still taking pictures? What else has been going of late? I decided to work at my old school a bit longer rather than go get a job at another company. Maybe I don't want to go fully be an adult yet? Oh! Turned 21. Went white water rafting and camping in Oregon for it. 10/10 would recommend.

Peter Parker has posed:
Deciding that he may just be there for a while, Peter flops back onto the roof and leans back against the chimney as he replies on the phone. Mask back on, he is just your regular Spider-man, texting a friend. Nothing to see here.

> Yeah, well. Lucky for me, my hair isn't my only redeeming feature!

> That sounds like a lot of fun! I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do for my 21st.

> Actually, you didn't see that. I don't want to get your friends in trouble for serving me. Pretend it never happened!

Kitty Pryde has posed:
> Oh so busted! I'm sending the FBI to raid your place right now!

Kitty grins and ruffles her fingers over Lockheed's horns as she looks thoughtful for a moment. Then she taps out another message.

> When is your 21st? Also, what are you two doing near to Halloween? We should go out somewhere together, all get dressed up and go have a night on the town. If you don't mind having a third wheel along.

Kitty sends a picture of a bicycle with three wheels after.

Peter Parker has posed:
> Oh, I don't think the FBI would want to bother with me.

Peter laughs for a moment. If she only knew. If they only knew.

> February. So not exactly really close. Gwen's already had hers, and she will NOT stop lording that over me. Although it was nice that she could buy the beer the other day.

There is a bit of a delay on the next response. Peter scratches at the side of his head. He had not actually had any thoughts about that at all.

> No plans yet. Honestly, hadn't even thought about what I would go as. And yeah, I'd be happy to have you join us. We're really used to hanging out with people and not being all weird about being a couple, so trust me, you wouldn't be a third wheel at all.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty smiles and says to Lockheed, "Sounds like they are doing well as a couple. Happy for them. Though I admit I thought he was kind of cute," she says to the dragon before tapping out a text back.

> Great. I've got a costume idea I'm working on already. Making a mummy costume. I'll start looking for clubs and bars that are having things that week, see if we can find somewhere fun to go.

Kitty sets her phone back down and then looks over at the fire. "So glad it's cooled down now," she tells the little dragon, fingers going back to scritch his head.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter scrunches up his lips as he looks at Kitty's texts again. He doesn't _think_ Gwen would have an issue. And it's not like Kitty and he did much of anything other than meet up, and he wasn't even sure if that was a date, or would have been a date. She was cute and he totally would have asked her out again, maybe, possibly. Probably not, typical Parker.

> Awesome! I'll have to think of something good. Maybe I can be a big scary Spider and Gwen can be a web. Or something.

"A little to on the nose?" Peter asks of the pigeon that is staring at him in the moon light. "Yeah, maybe not."

> Or something. And yeah, that'd be great. I'm not a huge partier, but for Halloween, I can make an exception!

Kitty Pryde has posed:
> Sounds great, will let you know what I can find. You two can get to work on costumes. Gwen would look great in anything I'm sure. If you need an idea, I suggested to someone doing characters from The Breakfast Club. But I wanted to be Judd Nelson and have this guy be Molly Ringwald.

Kitty snickers softly. She'd have to think up a prank to pull on Bobby again soon.

> Going to head to bed. Take care of yourself, Peter Parker!

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter laughs at that suggestion, and taps at his chin. "Breakfast Club. That's a classic. I'll have to ask Gwen. Not sure if she wants to go red head, though." He coughs a bit, and looks back to the phone.

> She definitely would. I'll think on that, I'm not sure how good *I* would look, but I can try.

> Yeah, get some rest! I should turn in soon myself. But thanks for reaching out, let's meet up soon!
