Secret Warriors: Trouble in Actual China Town
Date of Scene: 09 October 2022
Location: China
Synopsis: The Secret Warriors answer a mysterious kree signal in China, finding a very confused and terrified Kora and a device they recover.
Cast of Characters: Kora Johnson, Daisy Johnson, Alexander Aaron, Mary Jane Watson, Jane Foster, Matthew Murdock

Kora Johnson has posed:
China was only once briefly welcoming, begrudgingly, to SHIELD. Back in the 90s. That didn't last though and now whenever they travel in to the airspace it is under cloak. The operation in China is kept very small and low key, enough to have a necessary foot print to be able to act when needed.

The bustling huge city of Shanghai below, a skyscraper landing pad above. The team is met by Agent Zhi wearing a suit and an ICER subtly tucked in to the back of his belt. He offers his hand to Agent Johnson when she disembarks.

"I have a van for the team in the basement. Try not to draw too much attention," he cautions and moves out with them. The drive from landing point in to an older part of town - townhouses with businesses on the bottom floor; traffic and neon lights everywhere; and the pervasive smell of street food. It's hard not to want to get out and enjoy the place.

They reach their destination. One of said buildings but it's boarded up and there are no lights on. This is the place; the readings indicate so; somewhere in this building is a device emitting an alien signal. A Kree signal. It started less than 8 hours ago and the team responded rapidly.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
SHIELD certainly isn't welcome in China. But the Secret Warriors? They have plausible deniability if they are caught. Do they even belong to SHIELD? Not really, with it being a secret group that works under the radar from any international and national recognition. Just like how Daisy likes it with her hacker past. It helps that the signal coming from this place matches the device they already captured in the past and had up in the labs under the caring hands of the FitzSimmons combo. So they have an excuse to be here.

The special Quinjet they have for the Secret Warriors lands, cloaked, the hangar doors opening. "We are meeting Agent Zhi. The objective will be to infiltrate the area where the signal is coming from, investigate the signal and figure out whats going on.." she speaks about the mission they have at hand now.

"This is hostile territory so let's be careful not to give too much notice about our presence here." She advises them. But she knew if anything the team she had assembled was known for their subtlety.

Shaking Agent Zhi's hand she moves into the van, waiting for the rest of the team to move in before they near the place, curiosity in her eyes.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Junior member and operative, Agent Aaron takes what time he has in the back of the Quinjet to peruse the mission briefing and to chase after what small threads of curiousity catch his attention. Operating through the proxy into SHIELD information that Daisy set up for the team so they leave less of an electronic footprint, he peruses the information for this particular operation. Kree. Alien signals. China Operations. Protocol changes.

Every now and then he'll look up from the rumble seat and listen to the rest of the team, looking around now and again. Since this is an operation in civilian areas at least in passing he's wearing clothes that don't stand out too terribly. Brown leather shoes, black slacks, white button up shirt, and a tan windbreaker. The baseball cap and sunglasses, however, work their mystic charm and clearly make him unrecognizable.
Once they set down he falls into place near the back of the pack, no weaponry at the moment and his silhouette is clean at a glance. Perhaps in case they needed an operative that wasn't packing.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson has only seen aliens a few times. Barely in the field. They're outside the things the junior agent has been accustomed to engaging. She's been briefed on the Kree by some of the general purpose files, fought agaisnt them in sims, and knows what they're like from training. This could very well be a first, however. So there's her massive broadsword on her back, and a beam saber taken from the armory that might prove more effective against their armor than her primary blade. She's quiet, going in, listening to the rest of the agents on what to do and what to expect.
She goes to jog along, a large coat over her that was covering the blade so it wouldn't stand out, the dank colors on it helping to blend in with the shadows even though it wasn't any sort of special weave.

Jane Foster has posed:
Agent Foster is, to the wider world, no agent of SHIELD at all. Her reputation as a Nobel laureate precedes her, and in a nation like China, probably perks the attention of any official of the Party who knows of her presence. All the better she's opted not to be obviously herself, glasses and black hair in place of always unchanging brown. At a glance, she fits in that much better, especially in dark plainclothes.

Besides, they need her for another reason. Signals that transmit information require advanced decryption routines, SIGINT to understand what they mean. Having a resident scientist around who deals in strange radio signals or the crackling sounds of space pretty much on a daily basis, and can tell the difference between a narrow-band burst projected from a pulsar out of a deliberate alien intelligence shouting, "Turn your music down!" at 1950s space may be helpful. She's there, wired in, the tablet in hand not one that relates to SHIELD or anyone other than an Indian factory. Sometimes espionage requires technological protections, and besides, she has something to work with on that front. The algorithms crunching in the background provide a cover. The real part is reading or listening, ferreting out truths in a lie. She barely looks up until Daisy tells them to hit the road, and from then, until someone reminds her to leave. They have Scary Sword, Shaky Sword, Berserky Sword, Silent Sword... and to round out the Secret Warriors?

Spectral Sword, evidently, jacked into listening to the truths of the universe with a grim awareness. Hang from a World Tree for nine turns of the moon, you learn weeeeeird stuff. Like where the missing socks so. Maybe what the Kree broadcast is. What that sign for a restaurant has as the day's specials. Nomnomnom! See busy, distracted girl about town, right?

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Rising from his seat is the only person who isn't a SHIELD agent. Daredevil is wearing his normal costume, batons in hand. He grabs a hooded long coat and dons it, slipping the batons into a holster in the coat, a slit in it allowing him to pull them out even if the coat is closed. He pulls up the hood to cover his mask and helmet. Hanging down to his ankles, there isn't much unusual to see about him now outside of the coat itself.

He doesn't say anything, just gives a nod to anyone who meets the red lenses that cover his eyes. Belting the coat to keep it closed, he follows along, focused on his surroundings. Listening to the beat of Agent Zhi's heart, making sure it's not racing or otherwise might signal a deception is underway.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Pulling off the boards that close up the building. It was once a laundromat. There are no machines left - either they were sold or stolen but this place is stripped bare. Whatever the reason for it to be abandoned it happened likely a decade ago judging by the calendar on the wall. Upstairs the signal starts to get weaker. Downstairs it gets stronger again.

The hunt for the signal leads them to a false wall. Time has not been kind to the secret doorway. This whole building might have been a front and breaking it down reveals the why of it.

HYDRA

This base has seen better days. There are scorch marks on the walls; parts of the walls cut through; burns on the ceiling and floors. This is older damage. There's newer damage too; bullet holes, energy weapons fire, grenades. A pitched battle took place here and the evidence still lingers.

Bodies. Some dressed in Chinese Specops clothing. Some dressed in stereotypical HYDRA science uniforms. There are weapons scattered about on the ground. No one won this battle and it seems the base in question was mothballed when no one turned up for work.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
How's Daisy dressed as today? Dark jeans, leather jacket. A beany on her head for good measure and a backpack with some of the tools of her trade. You know, hacking tools. Not exactly looking much like an Agent.

As they investigate and open way to what is an hidden base there's a frown from Daisy. She makes a gesture with her hand when that visible Hydra sign comes into sight. "Hydra.." she throws Agent Zhi a sharp look. "Any indication of a base here?" she looks to the others. "Careful, let's keep our attention sharp."

She steps over one of the bodies and begins making way down a corridor. "See if we can get power going on this building and let's look for the source." a glance to Daredevil, "Are you sensing the device anywhere close?" she asks him.

"Whatever happened here seems to have triggered that signal.." a worried look appearing on Agent Johnson's expression.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson keeps her weapons on her as she darts along slowly, keeping her hand over on her sword and ready to draw it. Ther'es no real need (as far as she cares) for stealth, but unless they are under immediate attack she hsould at least go along with the group and keep a low profile.
Over on the wall, there's a poster with a 'Hail Hydrant' on it along with a chibi dog wearing a Hydra outfit.
Someone's part of keeping up morale!

Alexander Aaron has posed:
During the trip from point to point, Alexander keeps quiet for the most part. The experts will voice their thoughts as they do, though he keeps himself mindful for their current situation and what facets that could be tactically troubling as they move along.
When they reach the base proper and move into the area where the firefight took place, that's when he starts to move around and investigate. Assuredly there would likely be forensics officers that would be annoyed with him for he doesn't pay much mind to the disturbing of the scene nor the rest of the fallen. Instead he takes up several of the weapons, clears them, checks the clips or power sources, then proceeds. Not as thorough as he could be for he only examines three before he rises from the last and shakes his head toward Daisy.
No further intel to be offered. Instead he turns his head and frowns, brow furrowing as he listens to the low thrum of the world's fear, the hint of anxiety in those that might be around him. When the crew starts to move again he tilts his head, "Get a vibe," Alex finally speaks up. "That way." He indicates.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The cloaked devil-themed hero stands still as if focusing on something. Maybe he's got some sensors in his suit that he's using, or magical awareness. It's hard to tell with those costumed folks, especially the vigilantes.

"Yes," he replies to Daisy, falling silent a few more moments before he gestures with a hand to indicate a direction. In an even, clipped timbre he says, "That way, probably a few rooms away. There are walls between us. It's active still. Nothing else besides it, that I can tell."

He crouches for a moment by one of the bodies, a hand reaching out to touch it. Though in fact he's smelling it, gauging how long it has laid there from the scent of the decay. He rises without comment then, a hand moving to assure his batons are ready at hand.

Jane Foster has posed:
Jane preoccupies herself between the details fed through the tablet and the sensory array she carries in a small crossbody bag, and sewn into the lining of her coat. Earbuds give a ready supply of information without dampening the conversation to the point she cannot hear her peers. She circles around Daisy, staying within arm's reach of her fellow Furiae for the most part. When HYDRA-goop hits the fan, always have an ally ready to snatch you up!

She approaches one of the fallen bodies where the others might go around it, kneeling down. Gloves are a practicality, a pair of disposable latex ones pulled on in perfunctory, quiet fashion. A bit of forensic investigation follows, mostly to confirm state of decomposition and obvious source of injuries. "Been a long while since..." She gestures, rocking back onto her heels to rise from the crouch. Some duties suck but this constitutes better than mucking out a stable by a short stretch. Death speaks to its handmaiden in soft whispers, not keen wails, so that's a plus.

Back again to the findings of her tablet, the backend scans translated into some kind of sensible information. She points downward at the ground, gesturing ahead.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Agent Zhi, whom Matt can tell is not being deceptive, gives a small shake of his head to Daisy. "That's the problem with HYDRA. They fly under the radar until suddenly they don't." He looks over the uniforms and spies the calendar on the wall though. Everyone else checking the bodies can tell too - this fight happened a decade ago. "There was talk about a decade ago of a specops team looking to emulate SHIELD. I think we found them."

The labs proper are concerning. Rows of cryofrozen bodies. Each one of them dead. All except the last in the line which is open. There's still water pooled at its foot with foot prints. The temperature is still cool but not freezing suggesting it likely shut off recently.

The wet foot prints head in the same direction the Secret Warriors are headed - to the storage area. Inside there's only one object. An energised farade cage of unusual construction. It has no power now but it's evident that when it was on it probably blocked the Kree signal. Now that it's off - the alien device within is broadcasting. It has a lot to say in an encrypted alien language.

Notably, there is a large hole in the side of the room. Blasted open it leads in to the building next door and stairs that return back to street level on the opposite side of the block. Dusty wet foot prints have been left behind traveling that way. 'That way' from Alex is certainly also this way.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
They weave and wander past various corridors to where Matt gestured to until they are finally face to face with the device. Similar but not exactly alike the device found in the moon. And that it's active is sort of worrying. "Stargazer.." she looks over at Jane. "Can we get this secure to bring with us?" she asks, a look to the Faraday cage. "Maybe we can get that cage running again.."

It's only then that she notes the rows of dead people. Inhumans most likely. It has her expression turn somber. "An Hydra base for Inhuman testing..?" there's a spike of anger out of Quake, just a brief tremble that barely notes on normal senses but on sharp ones? It's quite visible.

"We have one alive at least." A glance to Alexander, "Lead the way." she tells the man, figuring he's being able to detect whoever it is by the fear they most probably emanate.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson goes to move after Alexander as Mary Jane lets Sonja take over, broadsword out in one hand, beam saber out in the other. The way she's wielding the broadsword one handed with ease is perhpas somewhat surprising. How she keeps the leverage on the blade and force is another thing entirely.
Mary Jane does, at least, have enough self control to not be grinning like a madwoman the way Sonja normally would at getting to face something dangerous.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
A nod is given to Daisy, and he has his orders.
With a quick step he breaks into a half-run starting down the corridors and through the gap of that large hole and then the stairs. He takes those stairs quickly, moving quietly though not as silently as some. The prints do help, but it's that feeling of anxiety, hints of fear, anger that serves more as a beacon.
Once he's out and beyond he gestures to the team that's moving along behind him in the direction he intends to go and then he breaks into a run, trying to pick up the pace and close the distance.
There's no weapon in his hand, but he does move quickly and intently, clearly in pursuit.

Jane Foster has posed:
Carefully the staggered lines displayed on the tablet form their symphony, a crescendo spiking from general fluctuations while another complementary line harmonizes by spilling jagged pitches in a faster 3/4 time. Or so it might seem to someone more versed in music. A downward trajectory marking distance converges on the upward-bound red line until it's apparently Christmas in Shanghai. Jane must have some understanding of these readings other not, though she looks up to Daisy belatedly at the start of conversation in her direction. They're not noise-cancelling earbuds, promise! The look on her face is guilty for all of six milliseconds, the expression any bookworm hauled up from their study wears before expression returns.

To something disturbed, though she makes a point of masking it. Alex might taste the twist of fear that bubbles and dissipates. "Something triggered strongly," she warns, gesturing ahead. "I'm trying to work through the encryption patterns though this will take me more than a few seconds. I'm not used to seeing anything like this on Earth, it's not quantified regularly by our arrays." Like Agent Simmons, that doesn't preclude actually searching for it. "The regularity of the burst transmissions became a whole lot more complex. It's relaying far more data than the packets were before." The impulse to just run on ahead is checked, barely.

The need to bite her tongue strengthens, and she returns to the grid of details. This makes her by far the easiest to randomly strike; lady engrossed in scientific tables compared to everyone else. "I can get that up and running, but be careful. I'm not sure I can /block/ the signals it's sending, and the transmissions must be critical to be speeding up like that. Unless someone wants to scramble on the fly?"

Wishful thinking.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Daredevil brings up the rear as they move out again, keeping a figurative eye on their backs and making sure no one comes up from behind while they pursue the wet tracks. "How long has it been active?" his somber voice asks Daisy quietly.

He pauses by the open cryo container, nose drawing in whatever scents there are left in it, perhaps getting a scent of the person who was in it. He moves to join the rest then.

So this is what it is like doing a SHIELD mission. Somehow he expected there would be more donuts.

Kora Johnson has posed:
On this side of the street the people tell a very different story. There's a car that is sliced in half. There are a few police cars around. Angry people shouting at them and then saying they're sorry. It seems this has been going on for hours.

There are scorch marks like those in the lab too and a street lamp similarly was cut in half and fell over across the road. An elderly woman is sitting in the back of an ambulance with oxygen. She seems fine but perhaps got quite a scare earlier.

People are frustrated, angry perhaps, and very self absorbed which lends the team some stealth in their sprint. The foot prints disappear but Alexander can feel a growing source of fear as they approach a shop with its door blown open.

Eight hours earlier the power had been cut off to the building containing the HYDRA lab. Kora's pod ticked down its battery reserve until it eventually ran out. The door locks released and the cocktail that kept her on freeze dissipated. Stumbling she awoke back in the laboratory where she was last conscious but it was older now and darker.

Confused, dazed, disoriented, she fought her way out on to the street. The lights and sounds and faster moving cars startled her and she lost control. It's what she does after all. Running she burst in to a random building and hid. Dressed in nothing but a hospital style gown she curled up and cried in fear.

That fear is still there when the Secret Warriors arrive but she scrambles back to her feet defensively and her eyes begin to glow. "I won't go back. I WON'T GO BACK!" she shouts at them in Mandarin.

Strange exotic energy readings spike on Jane's equipment in the direction the rest of the team ran off to following Alexander. The kind of thing an Astrophysicists geek out about coming from black holes. Stuff that shouldn't be casually coming a few blocks down in Shanghai. You need a giant particle accelerator to make this stuff usually.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
While Daisy isn't too happy about leaving Jane on her own with the device she also knows that they need to find the Inhuman that most likely stepped out of that cryopod. Yet she also trusts Stargazer to be able to handle herself so a decision is made. "See what you can find, keep in touch.." she taps the earcomm on the side of her ear and then she is dashing out onto the street after the rest of the team.

"Eight hours ago." She tells Daredevil about when they began detecting the signal. "It matches when power went down on the building and ..." she stops at the devastation they find in the street.

"Careful." She tells them, "And everyone go non-lethal, whoever it may be will most likely be confused.."

With Alexander leading the way over to where Kora is she lifts her hands in a peaceful gesture. Mandarin? She can speak a little now that she has spent a good while with Jiaying.. So she speaks in a clipped manner back at the Inhuman girl.

"We are.. here.. to.. help you." a sign of peace done afterwards. From an Inhuman to another. A sign of peace used in Afterlife.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The young agent skids to a halt once he has eyes on. That hat and sunglasses are pulled off as he holds them in one hand, the other empty as he extends it outward and away. His shoulders hunch a little as he lowers his stance and then says in perfect Mandarin, "Hey. Hey. It's okay. Nobody is going to hurt you."
Even as the handsome Olympian tries a small smile, his pale hazel eyes trying to catch the gaze of the fearful woman... he extends that mystical power granted him by his heritage. So often he is called upon to inflict fear and terror upon those before him, it is at times a welcome moment when he can embrace not just being the God of Fear. But the God of Courage as well.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson goes to keep her weapons over in front of her, but goes to mvoe to the side so she's out of direct line of sight. The girl is going to be terrified already, seeing a woman with two large blades in front of ehr is not going to help her calm down. So Mary Jane goes to a point where she can cover the flank in case someone goes to try and pincer them or attack from the rear. Where she can intercept and defend. And if the girl is hostile or waiting in ambush?
Well, they have the God of War with them. Poor her.

Jane Foster has posed:
Data unreels its tale to willing eyes, though what the story is clearly doesn't appeal to the brunette astrophysicist. She can detect both the sprawl of exotic energy that simply makes no sense, but the underlying matter behind that narrative concerns her as much as a traumatized woman shouting in Mandarin. She can translate back easily for the others while Alexander speaks, but there is another problem at hand.

She shifts the tablet to her side, arms rising sharply in front of her. A defensive posture to be sure. "The machinery is submitting genetic data, and was set to narrow parameters for anyone who entered the vicinity. Specifically to a hostile receiver. Quake, you're compromised." Her teeth on edge, she draws back a few more steps, still specifically scanning for the source of that machine. The zigzag draws her back away from Kora in the event the fraught young woman might view her as another casualty. <<We aren't with them. We heard a call and followed the trail,>> she haphazardly replies softly in Mandarin.

If Daredevil can help /find/ the machine, then maybe the expert fighter can silence the thing.

Kora Johnson has posed:
It almost works. Alexander's mystical power quells the fear inside of her but that unfortunately exposes the rage and anger within. His words might have gotten through to her if Daisy hadn't done that hand gesture. Something that only those people from Afterlife would know. Something she grew up thinking meant friend, peace.. but she learnt was just another hollow lie from a false family who feared her. Alexander gives her the courage to fight her enemy.

Her lips curl in anger and disgust at Daisy and she lifts up her hands. "I WON'T GO BACK! NEVER AGAIN!," she yells in Mandarin as she blasts the exotic energy, lashing out like a coronal ejection from the sun at the older woman. Even the words from Jane are taken in - yes, she knows. They aren't HYDRA. They are Afterlife and that is just as bad. Perhaps worse.

The energy levels saturate and max on Jane's detection device. It's enough to drown out the Kree signal briefly. The energy whips out around Kora wildly as her eyes continue to glow. The secret hand sign Daisy knew was certainly enough to trigger such a violent response but the experienced warriors in the group can tell when someone is fighting defensively; strike first before the enemy can close the distance.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
That Kora seems to recognize the Afterlife signal is ..., good? Maybe? Daisy is almost starting to smile until that reaction comes from the woman. Anger and disgust? Not the reaction she is expecting from an Inhuman. It has her react perhaps a split of a second too late and so when her own vibrational shield is put up it still takes the full brunt of the blast that sends her flying out of the room and out onto the street and skidding across the ground, teeth gritted together at the pain..

"Damn it.." She curses on comms, getting up to one knee, "We need to put her unconscious. Engage.." she tells the team, still gasping for air.

Daredevil in the meantime has set up a defensive posture back out in the street near Daisy.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
A twist behind what cover is provided by the shattered doorway and broken furniture provides some respite for Alexander as he ducks out of the way, though visible to the team still. He lifts his head and touches a hand to his ear as his voice comes over the comms. << I think we'll need a bigger ICER. >>
Another blast zorches off the top of some of the nearby debris forcing him to displace to another point of cover, rolling to press his back against a fallen block of concrete. He extends one hand to the side, silvery flame washing over it and then drawing out to produce a crimson bladed sword in his hand.
Once armed he'll break from cover, moving to try and sprint to the next point and flank Kora perhaps trying to draw some attention to allow the others to get a better angle.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Oooh, a fight! But, the girl is probably just freaking and disoriented from her captivity. Which means that she doesn't need skewering. And there are plenty of others in there that can incapacituate her without lasting harm, which is.. Well, Red Sonja's specialty. So, as there's a yell which echos down the streets, REd Sonja braceds herself. No matter how quiet they've been so far, they've -definitely- had their presence announced.
And something did gut everyone else here they've seen, and it's not the girl.

Jane Foster has posed:
Combat help is not exactly in Jane's bailiwick other than ICER shots and staying on the run. She is much better on that front than directly engaging with an enraged woman hurling that much radiant energy such that even Daisy flinches. Her dash for cover vaguely resembles Phobos', except he does it with style and she jerks into the shelter of anything bigger than herself. Notably, the damn Faraday cage halting them from reaching the broadcast signaler. Team Science, 2-1. Fishing around in her bag takes precious seconds in which her skinned knees throb and hip reminds her of pain, at least the /memory/ of pain. Memories can swamp logic, and they do, a bit.

A set of domed black devices resemble ladybugs of a sort. The minor magnetic field on the bottom comes to life with a double-tap, and she tries to angle three of them around a generation point for said cage. A corner will do.

Three. Two. Nothing to see here but the momentary bending of space to break things. Preferably by eating small parts of them through tiny temporary holes in space, slurping up matter or energy particles in a perfectly disruptive way. Jane Foster, destroyer of air mattresses, slip-n-slides, and happiness.

Kora Johnson has posed:
The Kree device is now within reach of Jane Foster, destroyer of Farade cages. A new title to add to the list.

Alexander does indeed draw Kora's attention and fire. It's Mary Jane she hasn't quite noticed but the yelling from Kora and the blast has certainly caught the attention of the underpaid police who come rushing toward the building in question.

Kora's lips are pressed tight together as she pauses a moment. She trembles as the energy flows through and about her and she is starting to lose control of it again. This always happens and the anger on her face is replaced once again with a new fear.

The energy crashes against the walls, burning them and blasting through them and she lets out a cry of despair. Her hands clench closed as she pulls them tight to herself. Her eyes squeezing shut a moment and she tries to make a run for the back of the store looking for another exit even as the building bursts in to flames.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
<< In pursuit, >> Alexander says on comms.
He breaks from cover and moves after quickly, shaking his head at himself. He had hemmed and hawed over whether or not to bring an ICER for the mission, only now to murmur to himself and thankfully not on comms.
"No need to bring an ICER I said. Everyone else will have one, I said." But as quick as that he's off after Kora, but not before stabbing Grasscutter into the ground and leaving it there for the moment, since the last thing the arisen Inhuman would like to see would be armed people in pursuit.
He skids around the corner and looks to follow her into the back room area, making sure to cut to the side out of the doorway so as not to be an easily silhouetted target. "Please, miss. We're not here to hurt you. Please don't shoot me." He says, and to be fair there's quite a good amount of sincerity there. Though he does have that posture of a guy looking ready to jump one way or another. Since he saw that car outside, dangit.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daredevil notes the police officer's approach and sharply turns the man's way. "I will keep the innocents out of here. Go, Quake." and he jumps over a toppled-over car to reach the man, swiftly moving him out of the way just as one of Kora's bursts break out from the building, glass flying everywhere.

Daisy gets up to her feet a moment later and dashes back into the building, moving after both the other Agents and Kora. She steps out of the way of a burning bookcase that topples down in front of her, jumping over it, "Sonja. Icers!" she tells the other.

She takes the corner over to that backroom, watching Alexander get in Kora's way to distract her..., she levels the ICER at Kora and shoots..

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Going to rapidly draw out her ICER at the command, Red Sonja goes to dart to a 'backup' position over to Daisy. With the comment on the comms she has enough time to dart to the side and ou tof immedaite view, hopefully. That puts her in a position where she can get a backup location to shoot at the girl if she makes a run over past Daisy. Sonja's not the stealthiest, but the girl is in a panic, she's wearing a dark outfit and braced against a building so if will hpoefully work in a pinch

Jane Foster has posed:
Too much energy and far too much risk do not make a good combination. <I'll follow, but I have to halt this first.> Jane speaks softly into the comms as she continues to commit burglary against the broadcasting device, glowering at the cause of so much agony. It probably cannot distinguish any possible genetics around her, being keyed to Inhumans, and her genetic code simply doesn't exist.

Not in any way even a Kree device can trace. If it could, it would probably be shrieking about ghosts in the machine.

Indeed, who else is present but... Her thoughts stray a moment, interrupting someone's savoring of a most superb apple cyser to the elevated delights of kicking wolves in the face. Naughty wolves; /blood wolves/. The tired sigh emanates across the distance.

A moment later, someone related to Thor and Loki Odinson very closely emerges, the sounds of whimpers behind him. A faint trace of rainbows plays off his white feathers. "I daresay, needs must, lady scholar, but what do you try me with today? Will the lady physic proffer that fabulous cobbler again?" Hope springs eternal when you're a pegasus the size of a mini-sub. Possibly a satellite. Plumes ruffle when she points to the box, and Mr. Horse tosses his head. "The things I do to impress yon lady physic and lady miner. Verily, this noxious box shall be dropped off at the usual?"

Jane doesn't have time to reply. Proper Aesir war-mount, and most definitely not a posh pony, pokes the device with a hoof. Contact, and the rainbows wrap around him and Naughty Kree-Friend Box to disappear back into... well, somewhere. A confounded warehouse half a world away.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora stares daggers as Alexander chases after her. He looks unarmed but she grew up in Afterlife and as far as she knows he's from there too. A team from Afterlife is going to full of people with gifts. She hears his words and she states emphatically, "Go home. Tell them I am dead." That's what Gordon did. Why can't they just leave her alone.

A blast lances out from her hand even though she's not aiming at anything. She lifts the other and it sweeps across the room dangerously.

She looks panicked again and goes to run for it as Mary Jane predicted but Daisy's ICER shot hits her squarely in the chest. She stops where she stands and the glow leaves her eyes. She drops down on to the ground and - despite the fire and the police coming to investigate, the danger is now over.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
As soon as that ICER shot hits home, Alexander is moving forward. Not quite quick enough to stop her from hitting the ground, but quick enough to at least make sure there's no double bounces to the noggin. He reaches into his back pocket and removes one of the zip ties that are used at times for apprehending targets...
Though instead of doing so he looks at Daisy, "Think these might just cheese her off if she comes to." Still he moves to heft her up one arm under her knees and the other across her back. A few steps carry him over toward Daisy.
    "Are we good for evac?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
With the ICER hitting means the threat is gone for now. But they still need to evacuate and there's a looot of destruction they wrought around here. Ugh, great. Another international incident? With some luck no one will know who they were...

"We are." A sharp nod given to Alexander. "Let's go. And good job.", then she tapping her comms. << Sonja, lets get a path open back to the quinjet. >> << Stargazer, we good with the device? Let's move out. >>

One way or another they had to get out of here. And so they begin moving out. To Agent Zhi she says, "Hope you got a good cover story ready.." a sigh.

Jane Foster has posed:
Mr. Horse vanishes and Jane finally drops to her knees in an untidy slouch. Her palm goes to her side, the stress catching up as she metaphorically catches her breath. A mess of bruises and scratches make her look like a hot, err, mess. Dust on her coat, tears in her jeans, it's all in a day's work. First, though, the practical priority of recovering her three little devices so HYDRA or others do not acquire them.

Once she gets those, she can worry about stuffing the in her bag again. Time slows as she hears the others. <I'm not going to be running fast, but yes. It's dealt with.> That must sound rather ominous, but not entirely in the effort to get up and start hobbling. <We're not going with 'gas line issues' again, are we?>

Kora Johnson has posed:
With the device 'secured' by mystical horse hoof and the stranger subdued with ICER, the team makes their exfil away from the incoming fire trucks and police who want to figure out what's going on. The devil appeared before them and was gone just as quickly.

Agent Zhi drives the van back to the building and helps get them all back on the Secret Warriors quinjet. As it lifts off from China they leave the airspace safely with the mysterious woman unconscious as their passenger. As far as new Inhumans appearing randomly this one was one of the more destructive but none the less in need like all the others have been.

Question is.. why is she and why did she respond so violently to Afterlife?
