Location: Gorilla City
Synopsis: The Bat Family members and Shuri make their way into Gorilla Grodd's palace!
Cast of Characters: Tim Drake, Kate Kane, Carrie Kelley, Shang-Chi, Shuri

Tim Drake has posed:
The stealth plane used to bring members of the Bat Family has landed outside of Gorilla City, a hidden(ish) city of sentient, intelligent, technologically advanced gorillas in Africa. Data has pointed to the gorilla portion of the recent trouble as having been manufactured and distributed by one Gorilla Grodd, erstwhile ruler of this city, and frequent pain in The Flash's speedy touchkis.

Red Robin hops out of the plane, surveying the area with a frown. He flips on comms. <<Check check. Red Robin, testing.>> He was the leader for this portion of the mission, and he was taking it seriously. <<Remember everyone, the civilians here may be gorillas, but they are just regular people who happen to look different. We're not here to fight them, just their boss.>>

He checks his wrist computer, tapping idly at the keyboard and bringing up the information the BatComputer has on Grodd. <<This guy is going to be trouble,>> he adds, <<So we want to be as fresh as possible when we get there. Stealth is the name of the game, but we're Bats. That's what we do.>>

Kate Kane has posed:
First time for everything, Batwoman thinks to herself as she hops out after Red Robin. Dealing with a Gorilla problem seemed more like a Central City problem rather than a Gotham City problem, but here they were, out to fix a mess that had become somewhat of a global problem. At least Red Robin wasn't going to lead them to Grodd by beating his chest.

Clicking the comm on, she responds. << Stealth seems fine. I don't really want to pick fights with gorillas if we don't need to. We'll probably have our hands full with the current task at hand anyway. >> She takes a quick minute to go through her belt and other bat gadgets to make sure everything is ready to go before they head out.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Sparrow follows out of the plane after Red Robin while he gives his synopsis of the general mission. A simple nod comes silent in agreement even as she looks down to her wrist at the electronic 'glove' worn there. With a quick twist-and-cut motion she activates the touch typing to pull up a small HUD in the augmented lenses of her mask. Not every Bat member had it, but those that did would receive access to the city overview that had been obtained from the overhead flight.

<< We've got a general map of the city and some potential high-travel hotspots are highlighted. We'll want to avoid these areas even though it may mean a longer route via detour, >> She explains even as she gestures forward with her free hand pointing two fingers in the direction that seemed best to start out.

<< Likely we'll need to make some split second alterations as we go, but so far this is the best way to start out. Go high when we can, use the shadows and avoid when we can't. >> One final look over the small grouping earns a grin. << Ready when you guys are. >> Not that she really waits as she starts out taking point. She was relatively small, and speed and agility were her strengths. Perfect for a forward scout.

Shang-Chi has posed:
Shang-Chi is a...peripheral Bat. A reliable ally who in this case has happened to bear witness to a fair bit of shenanigans involving Gorillas and Dinosaurs. He's also experienced enough that Grodd might not even be the first Gorilla he's fought. He is clad in what passes for his "costume" and while he does not cling to stealth and subterfuge to the level of most of the Bat-Family, he is not unfamiliar with the techniques. Even Ninjitsu was among the countless martial arts he has become familiar with, even if the very extended family of Kung-Fu is what he truly calls his own. Either way, apparently the Bat-family felt they needed the help, and so Shang-Chi was picked up along the way. The communicator is a borrowed one, but its' use is simple enough.

<<Be mindful of air currents. It is not just sight and sound we must avoid, but scent as well.>>

Tim Drake has posed:
<<Right. Air currents.>> A few taps of his wrist computer, and weather and wind data also is fed to those with the HUDs. <<Sparrow has point. Batwoman, you're second. Master Shang-Chi, behind Batwoman, and I will carry the rear guard.>> He begins moving as the short line of Gothamites wake their way towards the city, effortlessly scaling the outer wall and beginning to make their way across the rooftops.

Tim himself is perhaps the least stealthy of the BatFam, but that's like saying the least wet of glasses of water. Gorilla City is technologically advanced, and thus there are technological security devices. Once in, he turns his attention towards disabling and diverting their attention so the rest of the Bats (and Shang-Chi) can pass unobserved by cameras and other devices.

Kate Kane has posed:
Both Sparrow and Shang-Chi get nods as they make their way off the plane. Her quick recheck of her equipment done, Batwoman clicks on the comms. << Sounds like you've got a plan. >> She gives Red Robin a quick nod and then settles in behind Sparrow, following her lead as they begin their infiltration of Gorilla City. She goes quiet then, as she normally does when she doesn't have something particularly snarky or important to say.

As they move, she's doing two things. First, she's keeping her senses open from the time she spent in special ops training to get a feel for their surroundings. It's nothing mystical or anything, just paying attention to surroundings to start getting in a mindset of 'if I were going to put guards somewhere it'd be here' kind of thing. She's also making notes of how Sparrow is guiding them. Sparrow was young, yes, but she and Damian were the future.

Shuri has posed:
The mask she wears covers her face. It's like some kind of odd projection of hardlight that acts as both a face shield but also an information hub. Her wings are broad and typically white though today she has the computer actively altering the coloring to match their surroundings. She flew in on her own from, well, Wakanda. It was technically closer than the American Embassy so she came from out of there. She figured others might be involved and so she had sent out feelers to others who might be coming this way. Soon, Tim will get a message that the someone from Wakanda has arrived and is entering the city.

Already, her scanners pick up the group thanks to info from Tim and she flexes back the wings and comes in with the silence of an eagle. She lands lightly upon the roof top near where they are coming up and her wings simply vanish away soon after she lands. Shuri then looks to Tim and smirks behind her mask before she idly pulls up a wrist computer and begins typing. The girl's voice comes out slightly digitized from behind the mask through channels they have access to, <<Welcome to Africa.>> She then starts typing more and looks ahead, <<I assume you wish to not be seen but I also imagine you wish to find this Grodd. Yes?>>

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Sparrow does indeed have a plan: Scout ahead and look for signs of people passing by without alerting them. Also to avoid going in front... And as Shang-Chi reminds her, to be careful of staying downwind. That was something she'd recently learned herself after her identity was compromised due to a small issue of that nature. There's times she stops the entire group by crouching low and holding her arm out to the side in a staying motion waiting for some pedestrians or another to cross the path ahead of them so that they do stay downwind. Her HUD was currently updating with weather patterns as well as the overlay of the map she'd outlined earlier.

It's a small surprise, but one well received, when Shuri joins them earning a single nod from the other heroine. << Thanks. Kind of sad it's not raining though. >> Joking aside she ads, << If you have information, we're more than willing to listen. We're the strangers here after all. >>

Shang-Chi has posed:
Shang-Chi's feet do not fall heavy, and they are placed in silence. As the group sort-of-accordions its' way across the rooftops of Gorilla City, he manages to keep up well enough, and so far, so good. When Shuri makes her appearance, he offers a nod, and a look of consideration. A touch of familiarity to the new arrival though with her face hidden, he cannot be sure. Still, she has given no cause for alarm, and so he shows none. <<It seems a day for surprising visitors to Gorilla City.>>

Tim Drake has posed:
<<Welcome,>> Red Robin nods to the incoming Wakandan. <<And thank you. Yes, trying to just handle Grodd himself. We don't want any trouble with the locals. None of this is their fault, we're pretty sure.>> The palace is in sight, but they'll have to drop to the ground-- the tall buildings they had been snaking across end and there is a more open area between them and the palace proper. <<This is going to be a little more difficult than we thought. Sparrow, do you see a way across without being seen?>>

Kate Kane has posed:
<< I want wings, god damn it. >>

That's Batwoman's reaction to Shuri's silent appearance before them, she then glances between Red Robin and Shuri, and then to Sparrow as the tactical details of the approach to the palace are discussed. Quickly thinking it over she speaks again. << We don't all need to go at once. If we can work out the timing of anyone watching the palace, perhaps we can move one at a time or as pairs to limit our exposure? >>

Shuri has posed:
A look to Carrie and she tilts her head, <<You'd prefer rain? I would not.>> She smiles and looks then over to Tim a moment and then she hmms, <<Was thinking about taking the name Raptor but after hearing some of yours I fear you might slap me with one of your American Lawsuits.>> She glances back to Sparrow a moment and then looks forward and states, <<And if you wish to have wings, you will have to build them yourself.>> She looks back at Kate briefly, <<Only took me a week. No big deal.>> She laughs softly and looks forward, starting to scan the surroundings with her mask.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
<< It's referencing a song. 'I bless the rains down in Africa'? ... No? Ah nevermind. >> Sparrow would cough into her fist if it weren't for trying to keep quiet. It's tempting to do so anyway. There were more pressing things at hand anyway. The impending structure of the palace earns a nod of apparent thought as she scans over the area with a long sweeping gaze. Her lower lip is sucked in to chew on thoughtfully before she lifts a hand to gesture at Batwoman.

<< Yeah, best to go one at a time and preferably in different areas to reconvene together. If we all follow the same path that'd be like some weird video game. >>

Shang-Chi has posed:
Shang-Chi remain silent as the others discuss the plan, and eventually gives a solemn nod. <<I will take a more circuitous route, and approach from the other side.>> He's either confident in his stealth ability or his ability to get away if he's detected.

<<Or if nothing else I will provide a grand distraction for the rest of you.>> Or perhaps not! But there's a glimmer of a smile there that speaks to an assurance that he will indeed make it inside with the rest of them.

Tim Drake has posed:
Red Robin sticks to the shadows on one of the tall buildings rooftops. <<Once everyone else has gotten across, I will follow. Sparrow, Shuri-- once we get inside, we'll need a base of operations to take down Grodd from.>> He nods to Shang-Chi, and to Batwoman. <<Good luck.>>

Kate Kane has posed:
<< I'll have to get someone to make some for me then. >> Batwoman tells Shuri quickly before returning to the topic at hand.

<< Yeah, that sounds good Sparrow. >> She says before looking at the palace once more. << See you all on the inside. >> And because she is who she is, she gives the grouping of Batfam and Shuri a little wave and heads off to one side to scan the ground beneath them. Seeing it clear, for the time being at least, she pulls out her grappler, aims it at the edge of the building, and pulls the trigger. It digs into the rooftop and she hops off, holding on and letting the grappler and her weight take her to a point just above the ground, then releasing it to thud on the ground below.

Holding in a breath, she waits to see if there is any noise, then begins to work her way through shadows and what openings there are to head towards Grodd's palace.

Shuri has posed:
Working on her wrist computer, she smirks as she works on the thing. Looking over her computer from the mask, she starts to get an idea of how their security works. She then starts to try to set loops within the security, making the security see everything as just fine if she can and making it see areas as clear that aren't. <<Security here is rather impressive but I should have everything opened up for us shortly.>> She nods her head as she works, <<Be careful. I will tell you when it is truly clear.>> She then looks to Tim before looking again, <<One thing at a time. Let us have a clear path in before we have a base to work from. However...they must have a security room.>> She starts to search for that as well.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley simply nods while allowing Shuri to do her thing. As soon as she gets the go ahead though, she's gone. Soon enough to meet up with them later at a suitable spot.

Shang-Chi has posed:
As with Carrie, Shang-Chi does not move away without the benefit of further information, but once it is given, he quickly disappears from sight, heading to take the long way around, and with any luck they might manage to outflank a...telepathic Gorilla mad scientist. Maybe not the strangest thing Shang-Chi has encountered in his career but probably still in the upper reaches of that list.

Tim Drake has posed:
Red Robin waits until everyone else has made their way across, and up the side of the palace before he does the same. <<Shuri, do you have a location where we can hunker down, and you can get better access to their security and computer systems?>> he asks, slipping in through a window and finding a dark corner to hide in for the moment. He pulls up his wrist computer, hoping to get some kind of map of the interior.

Kate Kane has posed:
It takes some time to ensure that she makes it into the palace undetected. Or at least undetected according to her own knowledge (who knows what other sorts of techno-surveillance that Grodd had beefing up palace security. Once she's in, she hunkers down in what seems like a store-room of some sort. << Okay, I am inside. In a semi-secure spot for now. Waiting on further instructions. >>

Shuri has posed:
Looking through things as quickly as she can, Shuri finally finds what she is looking for and then immediately sends out the info to those within the link, <<That location will do. Secure, only two ways in or out. Though there is a wall that we can blow if need be.>> She nods her head and then takes off quickly and quietly along the ground. She literaly has 'sneakers' for just this very reason.

Tim Drake has posed:
As Shuri finds them all a place to set up, Red Robin sends a ping to the other Bats and company to meet up as able. This will be the location they will launch from, after they've regrouped, against Grodd.
