Synopsis: Natasha and Yelena talk. Yelena is given a gift which she adores!
Cast of Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha is going through a light workout routine. By 'light' it's moreso something that an Olympic athlete might be doing to get ready in the days before a big competition. She's finishing her whilr around over on a series of rings in the survival area. Then as she reaches the apex of a swing, she goes to rapidly twist and flip in a triple sommersault, throwing three blades through the air over at a series of 'targets' popping up and out of nowhere, holographic simulations made by the arena.
THe first two strike reasonably close to the targets, the third goes through a shoulder to ricochet off. The resulting 'chime' is an announcement that the one standing target has sprayed her with automatic weapons fire, and hse is dead. She lands, irritated.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Is that a slow-clap Natasha hears? Oh, absolutely it is.

"You should have tucked your knees up like this," and to show, she crouches, drawing her arms around her shins, one hand over the other. Yelena is so very helpful.

Rising from her crouch, the blonde looks up and around, whistling. "This is much better setup than back home. Look. Even has giant wall." The woman is dressed for a work out. She's just not quite //there// yet.

"So, after that move, do I get your things?"

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
There's a very, very rare irritated look over from Natasha to Yelena that quickly vanishes over. "Yes, it is. Here things are properly steup for training. And it's an easier way to tell if I'm losing a step and working on things without.." Having it be other Widows with live weapons going to test her.

Mother's methods made for very low survival rates. Too many washouts over 'training' that were bodies thrown in a river.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena isn't quite as distant from her training as Natasha is, and perhaps she's also closer to just being able to kill with absolutely zero care, as opposed to Natasha perhaps, that has to take care for those pesky international incidents. Blue eyes rise to the equipment, and once again, immediately goes to the wall. "It would be better if they spray painted with graffiti. More realistic, I think." Just like the Berlin wall!

She looks up again once more and exhales in a sigh, as if this entire room offends her in some way. "You are not losing step," Yelena adds encouragingly. "You are still better than most." Walking towards the sheer-looking wall, Yelena finds the first couple of handholds by digging her fingers into those small spaces. She's not wearing any gear..

"This is like playground when I was young." Up she goes quickly, about 5 feet before she pauses and looks down. "Believe it or not, in Ohio."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would go to consider, "It's not quite the same as the real thing. It can make things here.. But they're never quite real. There's a better setup at Avengers Mansion if you'd like I can show you sometime. It uses hard light technology to make holograms with them for training." She would watch over at Yelena going up along the wall and starting to climb.

"Yes, yes, I can see that you would have grown up on a jungle gym." Natasha goes to look over at the wall.. And she goes to brace down a bit.. Then launches herself up and over into the air, leaping up several meters to land on the top.

Yelena Belova has posed:
"Really? That would be fun. Meet all of your Avenger friends like Captain America." Yelena looks up, looks down and drops a hand heavily before bringing it up again to find a side hold. Like a little spider, she moves another few feet up, her entire body used to find those precious holds.

"I was queen of jungle gym. I would toss anyone off who dared challenge me." There were many phone calls home about her, apparently?

As Natasha vaults up, Yelena gets a //look// on her face, a scowl/frown, though it's never there long. "Really? You did that just to show off, didn't you."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Looking down over at Yelena, Natasha would smile, "Yes, yes I did." Then she goes to casually flip her way back on down. "Your technique is good, little sister. You just need to go up more. Naturally. You're slowing yourself down looking for places to grab. That's time you're not going to have when you're at full tilt. Or there may not be places to grab."

She would go to watch. "That means that you have to be good enough, fast enough to not need them. Just to run right up it and not have an issue. Come, I have something for you." She would gesture at Yelena to come along with her.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena looks down once more before pushing herself off the wall itself, and dropping the ten feet. Landing on her feet, she absorbs the shock easily and shoulder rolls before regaining her feet once more. "There is more than just wall climbing. I was testing my finger strength," and she wiggles them in front of the now perching(?) Natasha.

Pressing her lips together, the blonde Widow chuffs and annoyed breath, and mutters under her breath some choice Russian before she takes a couple of steps back in prelude to doing exactly what it was that Natasha just did.

It's a running start, and while she doesn't get the height, she certainly doesn't lack for strength and speed, each spot picked withing a heartbeat of the next before she pulls herself up and //plops// herself down on a spot right next to Natasha.

"What have you got for me?" Like a kid!

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would watch over, "Good job. Very well handled landing." She watches the girl. "You don't have the physique I do, so the fact you were able to pull that off was amazing. You're in excellent shape, Yelena. And you've kept your edge." Those are rare words of praise from Natasha and there's actual pride in her voice from it.

"But, these are for you." She comes back a moment later with some climbing gloves. "I use them fairly regularly, you deserve your own." They're thick gloves with nanofiber 'clingers' on the end. "They're rather modular and you can pakc them with quite a few things. Poison, small contact widow's bites, claws.."

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena looks down; as much as she competes with Natasha, a most definite remnant of her training (must be better, must be better), the praise is still something that reaches the younger Widow. "You think so?" She's at the top now, perched, her legs hanging down over the edge. For a moment, she's quiet before she looks to mentally shift gears into her 'usual' persona.

Yelena is perhaps more than she appears!

"What?" Climbing gloves? Holding her hand out, she takes them, and gauges the weight, looking at them, pulling at them to test the tensile strength before putting one on. "Modular?" There's a pause before she fully understands the import of that, and when she does? "That is so cool." It's an honest enthuse. "You know I like pockets to carry things, and.. and.. this is perfect. I can carry toxins, I can carry small flechettes, I can carry.. oh, this is definitely cool." Yelena grins happily and looks beside her at Natasha, "Thank you."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would smile, "Yes, tkae them to a workshop and look them over. They're made of unstable molecules so they're quite effective at being flexible. With some experimentation I'm sure there's quite a bit more you can do with them. And I'm very, very pleased with how you're doing, Yelena. You've made me very proud."

The girl's enthusiasm gets a bright, open smile. "I'm glad that you like them. And I'm sure that you'll find them useful. Don't worry if you break them a bit, let me know if you need more. You learn better by experimenting, and that means breaking them in th eprocess."

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena leans to shoulder bump the other Widow even as she tests to see how the gloves feel as they mold themselves to her hands. Heavy gloves but light. She can feel everything through them. "I will not break them. If I do, I will be disappointed in myself. But, I will be filling them with little surprises." There is a gleam in those blue eyes as she considers, and it can't all be good!

Rising to her feet on the edge of that wall, she takes a quick look around and makes a leap for a bar that holds other equipment up. Reaching it, she hangs on, and moves to another, each move bringing her a little closer to the ground. (Why not try out the gloves!)

Once back on the ground, Yelena lifts her eyes towards Natasha, and they linger there for a long moment while she, herself, travels back in her own history. Her features are thoughtful, and whatever transpired, it gains only the outward response of a nod, coupled by a smile.

"Thank you, Natasha." For everything. Turning around, the blonde makes her way out of the training area for parts. Literally, for parts!
