Taming the Tigress: Jailbreak!
Date of Scene: 29 October 2022
Location: Blackgate Penitentiary
Synopsis: While Art rushes to warn her mom, a jailbreak wrecks Havok at her prison and League agents move in..
Cast of Characters: Artemis Crock, Conner Kent, Tim Drake, Michael Hannigan, Atrid, Talia al Ghul, Bart Allen

Artemis Crock has posed:
Early evening and the sun is just starting to set, casting brilliant golden light across the sky. There is an early winter chill in the air and light snow falls softly from the sky. It's not enough to hamper movement, just enough to lend a chill to the air. It is tonight that an armoured truck arrives, carrying a very special and dangerous prisoner: His name is Wrecking Ball and he is HUGE. And even at some seven feet, he is not at his biggest. Red Robin likely has files on him and other 'special guests' here tonight. Following after him is a small slender woman with flowing dark hair and pale skin, looking quite willowy and fragile next to the massive wrecking ball. Umbra has her own unique set of powers and it soon becomes clear that there are a number of metas at this prison, which is why security is on an all time high tonight as they escort the villains into the compound.

Artemis is here, having learned that The League of Assassins is planning to attack and capture her mother 'for questioning'. Which never bodes well. More digging had taught her that tonight would be the night, so she brought a couple of allies and contacted Red Robin as well..Although knowing him, he probably already has some info on these punks. She keeps herself hidden, out of sight of both criminals and guards as she surveys the area. "I need to find my mom, I need to make sure she's safe. Other than that, we gotta figure out what their MO is."

Conner Kent has posed:
"It is sunny in New York and snowing here," comments Conner, giving Tim a theatrical glare. It is somehow Robin's fault Gotham's weather always sucks. Or at least, Conner never lets him live it down.

That said, he is quite watchful. An attack in a prison with super-criminals is a sure recipe for a mass escape. Who was the genius that put a prison like this one so close to a major city? Only in Gotham!

Tim Drake has posed:
There are enough prisoners in Blackgate that have been put there by one of the Bats that even the faintest suspicion of a large-scale attack or escape guarantees the area the highest priority spot on the patrol schedule. That there are a number of metahumans currently contained within the Penitentiary's walls only means that Red Robin has no qualms with pulling in Outsider support for tonight, because Tim is nothing if not cautious.

Adding in the possibility of the League making an appearance and the only possible result of that equation is chaos. So he's already tapped into the prison's CCTV system, doing his best to monitor things from out here.

"Understood. Do you know what cell block she's in?" he asks Artemis, briefly minimizing the camera feeds in his mask's HUD to look over at her from his own hidden perch, high on the prison's outer wall. Conner, on the other hand, doesn't so much as get a glance. "I'll get right on that with my secret weather manipulating powers."

Though after a moment, he does actually turn to look at Superboy. "You know, at one point when I was a kid I was convinced Weather Wizard was an evil clone of Nightwing. Their costumes were too similar for it to be a coincidence."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
A purplish black raven glides down, pitching forward into a slight tumble before elongating and shifting. A darkly clad, humanoid figure takes the bird's place. The outfit is by far unimpressive and looks like something done by a person on a budget and access to a Halloween costume store would do. But for its faults, the outfit seems... comfortable. Not a bit of skin or hair is exposed in the outfit and where the face should be under the hood is fabric. Enter Phantasm.

There's been a running joke that emergency warning systems should be simplified from the number and color scales to something simple. One suggested example contained three stages: Everything's fine, Get a helmet, and put on a helmet.

In other circles this might apply to masks. Everything's fine. Get a mask, put on a mask. While Mike's not very good at mask wearing. When he eventually got notice that the destination involved Blackgate prison well-

That seemed like a damn good reason to wear a mask. He doesn't need to advertise to EVERYONE that he's got powers after all. The darkly clad man looks quietly to those that have gathered.

Conner's joke is noted. "That's because we're technically in Jersey." He adds in, "And yet there are some places in New York that make me long for Gotham."

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen crouches beside Art he takes her hand momentarily his eyes surveying the area He's in full costume complete with black hooded gothic style robe a fire and ice dragon upon his chest looking similar to a yin yang and blue mask that covers just his mouth and nose. "I'm with ya till the end you know that." He says with a smile and a squeeze of her hand. "Your mom is first priority, the rest we will figure out as it comes yea?"

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock narrows. her eyes as she surveys the scene. A lone armoured van has entered the compound, carrying among it, two notoriously dangerous villains. As it arrives in the courtyard, the back door opens and the prisoners are led out in special reinforced cuffs. And there are interesting little collars around their necks to suppress their powers. Seems like they have got every angle here covered.

Artemis nods to Red Robin and Superboy as they join her, "I believe she's in Block C52..According to my research..That wing over there.." she points to one of the corridors at the far end of the courtyard. "A bit of a walk but for Superboy, you could probably get there in no time. And you can walk through walls, can't you, Phantasm?" she doesn't know him well but he is a friend of Thomas so she trusts him.

Atrid is given a tight smile as she squeezes his hand and nods, "I know..Go with them, I know you'll keep her safe. The rest of us can oversee things top side." One would think things are under control here..But it doesn't take long for all hell to break loose..

Two of the guards step back, overseeing things as other guards come to lead the prisoners into the prison. There is something slightly off about the two who stand back, one of them pulls out what looks like a fancy remote control, pointing it at Wrecking Ball. The other does the same to Umbra, and with a loud 'Click!' both collars fall off.

'Hey! What are you doing?" yells one of the guards, rushing at the one who freed Wrecking Ball. Even as the guards turn on each other, Wrecking Ball is already plowing through the guards, easily deflecting their attacks and the attacks of the snipers on the walls. But he is not fleeing away from the prison. Instead it seems he is aiming to plow a hole right through the walls of the prison.

Umbra is more subtle, slipping out of her collar, becoming a shadow that slips through a crack in one of the walls, making a beeline for Block C..

Talia al Ghul has posed:
She's had them infiltrated them ahead of time. Talia is particularly out of Ghtam at the moment, having gone back to one of her little monasteries over in the Himalayas. It's been somewhat tricky to track her, but no doubt that iwth her recent arrival in Gotham the Bat-Family has probably spent some assets keeping track of where she's going, so they very much probably have a good idea as tow here she is, if not even more thorough.
WIthin the prison, there are a number of guards that have been replaced. They're tensing over, like the nromal sort of corrupt Gotham types that are aware something bad is going ot happen. The League infiltrators go to start yelling, cursing over the radios like the rest of the guards <<Fuckers are getting out! Fuckers are getting out!>>

Conner Kent has posed:
"Aha, that explains it," smirks Conner. Since he had plenty of time to prepare, he is wearing his 'official' Superboy outfit, with the boots and all. And of course a leather jacket.

Phantasm is given a quick glance. But if Tim has not objection to his presence, Conner will assume he is part of the Gotham masked crowd. "Can't you visit her, Artemis? I mean, if she is about to be released. I don't even know why she is still kept in a Super-Max place, someone must be pretty angry at her."

The young man narrows his eyes. "Something is going on, I don't think those guys are guards," a second passes, as the criminals are freed. "Crap. I am going in, Red. Before that guy can kill someone," he says quickly, flying at high speed towards Wrecking Ball.

Tim Drake has posed:
Even if Talia's out of the country at the moment, Red Robin can't help but feel her presence here. Detectives aren't fans of coincidences, and the uptick of League activity just as Talia's decided to reappear in Gotham is too suspicious. He has no idea what her angle is here, though, beyond getting at a (former?) League member now held within Blackgate.

And maybe that's it. Maybe that's enough motive. Still, even knowing that the League has a play doesn't mean he can pick the plants out from among the regular guards, especially not at distance. For now, he's consumed by the what-ifs, the arrival of Phantasm via crow only noted distantly as Tim busies himself by pulling up a map of Blackgate and some prisoner information to confirm the location of Artemis's mother.

Which he's still in the process of doing as two of the guards below release the incoming metahuman prisoners. "If they are, they're about to their jobs," Red Robin says, though he does silently agree with Superboy's suspicion. Either way he nods, reaching for the grapple gun at his hip. He's a few seconds behind Conner on the descent, and a smoke pellet obscures the area immediately around the transport vehicle and the guards as he lands atop the van, then rolls onto the ground and swings his leg out to sweep the feet of the nearest guard-slash-possible-League-member.

Bart Allen has posed:
The Flash after not being seen for the past little bit has been making appearances around the US mostly, but not really in the same place twice. So tonight when he was dropping off a criminal at Iron Heights and got the message there was something going down at Black Gate, he was on his way. He considers changing before he gets there but no he may have to answer some questions but it works for the best. There is a blur coming in and up one wall, and into the prison. The man in the familiar Red and yellow looks about. He moves about and grabs a couple guards, who took hard hits and moves them out of the way. As Superboy "S... Superboy you keep the big guy busy." He says trying to make his voice deeper and more commanding sounding, but Conner has hears this young man before, and this is not the normal costume he is in. If that was not enough to give one friend a clue, the fact that he is wearing his own communication gear so shows up on Red Robin's HUD as Impulse, not Flash is a dead give away to his other friend.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen says, "It's more complicated than that, I mean from what I hear this City is more corrupt than even mine." He says with a nod over to Super Boy. "Listen I'd rather be by your side, but Ill fight on the front lines if that's what you'd prefer, know if you get your ass captured after I rescue you I won't be happy with you." He gives her hand a final squeeze. "Always." CryoPyre states with a laugh and spying what's going on. "Ah Shit! Not good not good! I'm on your six."

With that he uses his left hand creating an ice bridge underneath him as he slides off down to the battle following behind Superboy."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
As the location of the potentially endangered prisoner is revealed, Mike looks in the direction indicated. Hearing the question, the masked form of Phantasm looks over to Artemis. There's a noted pause as he considers the response. "That highly depends on what you're asking." Unlike the comment about Gotham before, there's a bit of a change to the tone being used. Less casual, less relaxed. More to the point.

It is also a wasted display of cool response as a less than relaxed one is going on near the guards. It is very hard to set the mood when there's screaming in the background. Alas.

The musician turns, watching as Conner flies off towards Wrecking Ball and sighs. Another glance is given to Artemis. "Your mom, your pick. Do you want me with her or down there dealing with that?"

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock frowns a bit, "Exactly..Looks like they wouldn't let her out on early Probation, or even move her to a more relaxed prison. It seems like we hit a wall at every turn.. Sure I could come visit her but right now she's in danger. Phantasm, please, save her..Less talk, more action, let's go!" she tightens her grip on her bow, glancing around, "Looks like the sniper guards on the roof could use some back up. I've got this covered." and she shoot ps a grappling arrow along the wall of the compound, flying towards the rooftop and out of sight for now.

Wrecking Ball has already managed to create a hole in the compound wall, and prisoners are already starting to spill out, clashing violently with the guards. They don't have any real weapons aside from bricks dropped by Wrecking Ball's attack, but they are far more numerous than the guards.

Wrecking Ball continues to trudge along, kicking guards out of his way as he tears open prison bars, freeing more prisoners. He's so busy with creating havok that his back is totally open to attack from Superboy and Cryopyre.

Umbra is more subtle, carefully avoiding the havok and chaos as she slips in and out of flying debris, headed for block C52. In fact that entire corridor is now shrouded in a thick veil of darkness, making it hard to see anything..

Talia al Ghul has posed:
There are yells over from the 'cops' that are falling back, going over to try and duck for cover along where the rampage is going on. They're wearing the normal armor of prison guards, with the tasers and small bore guns used for handling things. THeir weapons are armed with rubber bullets; they'er clealry not setup over for dealing with things like this. There are about four or five of them trying to pop up and pepper Wrecker ball with them to no remote avail if he even notices them.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner hits Wrecking Ball before he can open a second hole. Although not exactly by surprise, which is rude. Instead he tries to grab the big man by the collar of his shirt and toss him back to the floor. "You know, this is not a good way to start your twenty-to-life. I mean, those guys might look happy now, but they aren't going to once we finish with them," mentions Conner, gesturing to the unarmed escapees. "By the way, I thought you were a crew, not just a guy." If the man tries to stand up, Conner would aim to punch him down.

The Flash appearance takes him by surprise. For a second. Then he laughs. "Hey, Flash, I thought you would be taller! But okay, consider him busy!"

Tim Drake has posed:
See, Red Robin called it. Chaos. No doubt at least partially assisted by the League, though trying to determine which of the guards aren't actually guards is no longer Tim's top priority. Not with prisoners spilling out from the newly made hole in one of the compound's walls. Now it's just crowd control.

The initial two guards that had kicked everything off are down, at least. Taking them out means that

Tim's close enough to feel the gust of wind move past him, tugging at his cape. "Good ti--," he begins. Then the words catch in his throat, and he does a double-take as he throws a batarang towards a prisoner in mid-air, leaping towards the railing on one of the guard towers. It pins the prisoner in place against the wall where he's left to hang for as long as the material of his prison jumpsuit is willing to bear his weight.

"--timing, Flash. We could use some help keeping any of the escapees away from the perimeter."

And with that, Red Robin throws himself at another prisoner who has just sprinted past him, taking the man down with a grapple so that Tim can hog-tie him with a couple of zipties from his belt. Which are, yes, probably made of some fancy polymer just so that they can be officially called Bat-ties. Then he's off after a trio of prisoners wielding improved weaponry who are advancing on a lone guard.

Bart Allen has posed:
The Flash is pretty sure the guards he are helping are legit, since they been bounced around a bit. He will lean in asking one of them where they keep the leg irons for transport, and then he is off going to get some. As he comes back, he would put Jacob Marley to shame with the sound of chains rattling. He starts going for the normal guys letting the others handle the super powered bunch for a bit. He goes from man to man slapping leg and wrist cuffs on people, more often than not, each person is only getting one cuff put on unless, he knows they are specially dangerous. The speedy hero counting on the fact that the crooks won't be able to work well together, to help limit their movements as a group, that and the face he makes sure to loop the chains around something heavy now and again, creating a long line of criminals chained to one another. He resists the urge to grab the last guy in line and call out Conga Line as that is something Impulse would do and not Flash... well maybe Wally would but not Barry. He looks over to Superboy "That was a prison break too, you know." he says as his mind goes to Stormtroopers.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen leaping off of his ice path his right hand pushing outward and emitting a jet of flames at the nearest enemy combatant. "Lets rock and roll!" He chuckles looking around and throwing a kick at another. "Come on come on this is all ya got, I figured you guy's would be tougher, where's the challenge??" CryoPyre is clearly having a good time right in his element the thick of battle a fight always seems to perk him up a bit. His left hand tossed out and a jet of ice freezes what he can reach and get into range. The real challenge he starts looking for. "Who's next, who's next come on? Come and get it!?

Michael Hannigan has posed:
When Artemis choses for him to go to her mom, Phantasm gives a nod. And yet despite her demands of more action and 'let's go!', he doesn't move forward. Instead he stills, the head turns, directed to the area of the prison Artemis indicated earlier. The gloved tips of the index fingers join with their respective thumb tips while the rest of the fingers curl inwards. The head tilts slightly to the left before tilting up and shifting a tad to the right. "Hmm."

It is subtle in the dark and unless one were looking directly at Phantasm and watching for it, it could easily be missed. The darkly clad form mirrors itself. With two quick steps and a jump up, he vanishes from sight. Stepping into the awaiting dream, he takes a look around.

Artemis Crock has posed:
Wrecking Ball snarls as Superboy interrupts his playtime, turning to face him wuth a growl, even as he is thrown to the ground. Superboy is strong, but Wrecking Ball is no slouch, almost able to keep up with him as he springs to his feet with surprising speed and agility, and when Superboy tries to punch him down a second time, he is ready, blocking the attack, attempting to grab him by the fists and hurl him against a nearby wall. "Mind your own business, boy!"

Really, rubber bullets don't do much to a super strong, super tough thug like Wrecking Ball and his laughter is like a boom, "Hohoho, that tickles!" he rips out a chunk of metal bars and uses them to swing around at any who get too near, not really caring who he hits. Cryopyre is closest and he snarls, trying to hit him with the bars, but some of the ice catches his arm, freezing him, slowing him down.

Between Artemis, Robin and Impulse, the bad guards are slowly being subdued, the prisoners being steadily rounded up as the6 take control. But in wing C it is eeerily quiet and everyone there falls asleep, including Paula, who is still in her cell, sleeping deeply, dreaming of the last time she said goodbye to her daughter Artemis before entering this dreadful place..

Talia al Ghul has posed:
The group of guards that are actually members of the League hit the ground, all of them ducking adn flailing over. two drop thier guns, one yelling, "Let's get out of here!" He moves to try and scramble back up to his feet, another two nodding in panic along with him, them going to try and stumble away, not even bothering to go for their wholly useless guns. "We're all gonna die!" One of them wails over. This bit of chain panic perhpas hitting some o fthe other guards as well - at least, any that might still be around.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner is not really surprised by Wrecking quick recovery; he is very quick himself, after all. Getting shoved off doesn't work well either when someone can fly. So, Wrecking Ball has him back in less than a second. "It is Saturday, this is not business, but hanging out with friends," he kicks at the chunk of metal to try to keep it off the tall man's hands. Then aims a punch to his face. "Flash, we need that power-dampening collar this idiot was wearing. I can't really cut loose here or I will wreck more walls."

Tim Drake has posed:
The thing about being friends with someone is that after a while you tend to start thinking alike. This isn't on the same level of finishing each other's sentences, not really, but out in the courtyard Tim has just mentally tuned into Conner's brainwave.

That the smoke from his entrance has finally cleared enough for Red Robin to notice the discarded collars on the ground may have something to do with that, admittedly.

A quick spin sends him flying through a gap between the two prisoners still standing of the original three he'd gone after, and a quick smack to the back of the head with his staff sends one to the ground. The other is waylaid via electrified batarang as Red Robin scrambles over one of the downed guards.

Just in time to hear Superboy's request over the comms, Tim yells, "Flash, heads up!" and overhand tosses the collar in the air, only seconds before he gets caught up in a rush of fleeing guards that pushes him halfway across the courtyard and away from the action.

Bart Allen has posed:
Flash will come back by catching the collar as it is thrown, he moves in to come in from behind to put the collar around Wreckingballs' neck. He tries to close it but has not been briefed on these things, maybe one of the others can activate it. He does move to cover the Bad guys eyes with his hands, as he says "Hey who turned out the lights, where did everyone go." He dodge any grabbing at him, and waits till Superboy and or Cryopyre are coming in with an attack to let the guy see again, and launch himself off his back. Superboy, Red Robin, and the Flash, have this good of teamwork odd. The flash does stand back with a goofy smile for a moment, and then covers it and is off again, doing a quick spiral circuit outside the walls trying to make sure none get away.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen watching the ice creeping up that arm CryoPyre laughs. "Oh look at that big guy can't seem to get away from my ice? What's all that brute strength good for if ya ain't got a brain to tell ya how to use it!?" With that his right hand thrusts forward and lets a jet of flames out at his target. "Come now big guy lets do this! You and I pal you and I!"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
While the others do battle, the phantasm treks through Paula's dream, quietly observing the tearful goodbye to the element of the dream that identified this to be Paula's. He takes care not to interrupt what is playing and instead hops out of the dream, placing himself inside Paula's cell.

Finding there no roommate to contend with, Phantasm reaches over, giving Paula a gentle nudge. He steps back soon after. Considering the family's nature for 'attempted murder first, asking questions later', it seemed important to have a little space between the two to start.

With the mask in place, there's no facial expression to get a read off of the figure. The head turns, seemingly observing the abnormally growing amount of dreams happening in the area. Something is really complicating the situation. Phantasm shakes his head, moving over to pick Paula up. "Things are never simple." He mutters, scooping up the woman. On the bright side, if she's still sleeping this will make moving around with her easier. He takes a moment to filter some of his energy into her before he falls through the floor with her.

Artemis Crock has posed:
Things are starting to calm down as the heroes round up the errant prisoners, putting them back in their cells and binding them once more. Things are starting to calm down although Wrecking Ball continues to put up a fight. He snarls angrily, stumbling back a bit as Superboy punches him once more, a mighty punch but still not enough to knock him out..It's enough to distract however, allowing Cryopyre to didge him and set his arm in fire, causing him to roar in pain. Enough for Impulse to dash behind him and replace the collar around his neck. But can he reactivate it?

One of the guards creeps behind Impulse, pointing a gun at his head, "Drop it!" he snarls. oh hey look, he's carrying one of those remotes too.

Meanwhile darkness continues to spread through Block C as Umbra appears in Paula's cell, reaching for her..But wait, where did she go..? And now sleeping most begins to spread to other wings..

Talia al Ghul has posed:
As Red Robin goes to dart past the group of cowering guards that had been ducking over (quite a reasonable thing, given the sheer power level of the metas in the breakout) suddenly they would rise up. Three of them moving in a sort o fdazed maneuver to their feet with an 'is it over' sort of stagger.. Then, as soon as Red Robin's back is turned they're going to try and pepper him with several throwing darts that are all covered in extremely potent paralytic poisons and neurotoxins! The blades are edged in such a way to make them more effective at piercing through armor at close range and they're thrown within six or seven meters depending on how close Tim is going past them!
It's designed to try and hopefully pepper him with enough darts to drop him like seeing Fred Dukes shaking it like his mamma gave him in a g-string and pole dance!

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner is a little disappointed the collar won't activate right away, "there was a remote somewhere," he points out. Another punch for the guy, since he has an arm on fire he can't block that side.

"You know, I knew a thug in Hawaii that called himself Firearm," he offers Wrecking Ball, "you could use the name now, pretty sure Wrecking Ball is taken."

Somewhere in Hawaii a small time cybernetic criminal yells 'it is Sidearm! Sideaaaaarm!'

Tim Drake has posed:
There's no chance for Red Robin to help with the collar effort now, since he's been separated. Unfortunate, but he has his own problems now. Even knowing that there were likely League agents within the penitentiary, he can't expect to be surrounded by them all at once.

Still, fast reflexes save him from being totally pincushioned. A sweep of his cape obscures precisely where he is, so a few of the darts slice through it and miss entirely. Another couple cut closer but Tim twists out of the way to avoid them, but one does find a weak joint in the armor plating and hits its mark.

The time starts ticking down on how long Tim can manage to be even semi-effective, but he has the wherewithall to drop a smoke pellet and launch a grapple line that pulls him away, out of the group's midst. If he hits the edge of the wall hard enough to knock the air out of his lungs at the top of his ascent, well... there's no one around to witness it, and he manages to pull himself over the edge rather than dangling precariously.

"Downed. Gonna be a few minutes before I can rejoin," he announces over the Outsiders comms while his shaking, half-numb hands works to administer a broad-spectrum antidote from his utility belt.

Bart Allen has posed:
The Flash will look over to Superboy "What a Maroon." He says in his best Bugs Bunny." He has about a dozen ways he can get out of this, but does the whole phasing bit vibrating his molecules so he is out of phase with the guy. He will step back through him, and then comes solid as he reaches up and disassembles his gun, and grabs the remote from his hand. The he pulls a bit more of the super speed shenanigans and grabs the guy who was behind him and moves him into the path of one of Wrecking Balls punches. He thinks about it for a moment, and then hits the button right before Wrecking ball hits the goon. He looks over to Superboy again "I'll check on him." He is off towards Tim, and once he is there he helps with the antidote. He asks the other young man, if time will help him recover quicker, and when it is confirmed "Ok, got a new trick." He tells him and puts his hands on Tim's shoulders, and leans the other young man speed. It is a trick he has learned recently and while it is not a lot for a good couple seconds Tim has the metabolism of a flash, healing and cycling through the sedative quickly, at least thats the plan.

Atrid has posed:
Atrid Torsen laughs at Conners pun. "I got this man, you find that remote and get this blasted collar activated so we can ya know get him back in his cage yea?" He laughs. "So Barbecue'em?" And another jet of flames sent towards Wrecking ball. "Or put'em on ice?" And a jet of ice goes at the large man as well. "Or ya know there's always icey hottin'em" And then he pulls his hands closer together and laughs as the intertwined fire and ice head for wrecking ball. "Looks like all hells breakin' loose, he buddy if ya gotta go check on your other pal I got this clown you go. make sure your friends ok."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Considering most would be checking stairwells or elevators, doing a drop zone through the prison floors seem to be the best option at the moment. This tactic is further supported by the lack of wakeful witnesses in the cells being passed through. Good that they don't know what they're missing.

But as the blatantly basementy looking level comes into view, Phantasm stops his descent and starts walking forward. There's no sense dropping into solid earth.

Phantasm is not inclined to actually break Paula out of prison, but considering she's being targeted, he's going to do his damndest to make sure she doesn't get hurt with the chaos going around. And right now he's REALLY wishing he knew what the other people were doing so he could better plan his next step.

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock is already making quick work of League guards outside as well as subduing any stray prisoners, shooting them with sleeping darts. It won't take long to subdue Wrecking ball with that collar and now there's just Umbra left. But with her prey gone she is already fleeing. And where is Paula but with Phantasm who will hopefully get them to safety.

EMTs are already arriving to offer her and anyone else assistance. Art quickly checks in with her friends sending Mike and Atrid a quick text message. When she sees Robin go down she darts towards him, flying off arrows to those nearby, checking on him. "Hang on, I'll get help." she looks for EMT or do Outsiders have other meds?

Talia al Ghul has posed:
The EMT's are arriving, several groups of them in ambulances. Come to treat the prisoners that have no doubt been injured or hurt in the chaos, and those guards that can't be treated safely on site - of course, any of the escaped prisoners will of course have to be held 'on site' to ensure there aren't any further issues with attempted escape and to secure them.
By which we mean some of the guards to get in some revenge..

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner spares a second to knock out Wrecking Ball with a gentle tap to the noggin, and then flies to check with Tim and Artemis. "Hey, don't tell me they got you, Boy Wonder. Art... is your mom safe? I didn't know where to look and that big idiot was trying to free the others, so..." vague apologetic shrug. He also lost track of the shadow woman, but it looks most of the fake guards and all the escapees got taken.

Tim Drake has posed:
Speaking requires more effort than Red Robin wants to expend at the moment, preoccupied as he is, but at least with Impulse-slash-Flash's help he gets the antidote circling through his system, which will hopefully counteract the toxins. The question Bart asks gets a nod even though Tim has no idea why it's being asked in the first place.

At least, until he finds out. The change in the passage of time -- from his perspective, at least -- is enough of a trip that he spends a good chunk of his gifted superspeed just looking around, observing the snowflakes frozen in mid-air and the mixed crowd of prisoners and guards below, those still able to move on their own power as still as statues.

Also he spends at least a few minutes of superspeed feeling really ill. Neurotoxins are no joke, folks!

Once he's back on his feet, and experiencing time at his usual 1-to-1 speed, Red Robin rubs his side where the dart got him and shakes his head at Superboy. "It's the League. I've been hit by that particular blend of posion before," he says to Conner, and then "Thanks," (probably over comms) to Bart before he grapples down to the courtyard to rejoin the battle. On cleanup duty, this time around.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to the others, and says "Well looks like you young heroes have things under control now, I will check the outskirts for any convicts who got back, and then I am heading back to the Hall of Justice to do my taxes." Yea that sounds goofy but was first thing that came to mind as an adult thing. He does check things out but after finding none heads on out. Over the Outsider com he will say "Thanks for playing around, but the less people who have to hear me talk the better while I am wearing this."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Hearing the slightest of blips in the dark shadows, Phantasm shuffles Paula in his arms to retrieve the phone and checks the message. The response is slowed as he types one handed.

The darkness makes the passage of time seem at a crawl as the back and forth of messages go on. After it appears that it is safe to bring Paula topside again, the phone is put up. Cradling the slumbering prisoner, Phantasm makes his way on up with his charge.

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock hovers protectively over Robin as Flash gives him an antidote. As Flash and superboy near, she nods and smiles to them. "Thanks for helping, I think my mom is safe and looks like Atrid's just trying to track down Umbra now..With the EMT here and backup, I think we'll be okay.." and then Phantasm arrives with the unconscious Paula and Art rushes to check on her. "mom? Is she okay...?" but her thoughts are interrupted when one of the EMTs approach her, "Sorry ma'am but we need to take her back in to custody. Don't worry we'll make sure she's alright." they're already loading her onto an ambulance and heading out before Artemis can protest..Unfortunately that ambulance never quite makes it to the hospital like the others..Nor does it make it back to the prison compound..
