The Obligations of the Job
Date of Scene: 30 October 2022
Location: The Lab - Playground
Synopsis: Monica is inducted into Daisy's cult while Alex gets a job and Kora makes fun of them all.
Cast of Characters: Daisy Johnson, Monica Chang, Kora Johnson, Alexander Aaron

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The Playground has become the Secret Warriors base of operations for the time being. Minimal SHIELD personnel, just the secret warriors at times here or there means the place itself looks almost like a ghost base at times. It had come back online after years of being deactivated when SHIELD had to go dark and leave the Triskelion. But now that things are back to 'normal'?

Daisy just took advantage!

It's also good for the purposes of keeping an highly unstable sister in without having to endanger others at the Triskelion. "So, I suppose I should tell you about the Secret Warriors." this to Kora while they are sitting at the lab, going through another session of tests to check on Kora's recovery after so long in cryo.

"I am waiting for someone to arrive that I am recruiting to it. You should listen in, and then maybe consider it too." a beat, "Once we are able to train you in your powers further."

Yes, it had been a long time coming. But there was a certain Agent that had caught her those years ago. It was also why she had been transferred back to the Triskelion, but no need to share that just yet.

Monica Chang has posed:
The message said to report here. Monica had been given a lift on a quinjet that was delivering something to the area. That area being a lovely bit of the rural countryside. Not what she had been expecting.

Even more surprising when she was show into the facility there. She glanced around as she was escorted in, noting the layout, exits, the normal things for people in their line of work. She was dressed comfortably in a pair of jeans and a black blouse. No labcoat in sight since she'd had no idea where she was going precisely. Just who she was meeting. Instead, she wore a lightweight black leather coat.

Eventually she was brought into a place that looked far more familiar. Not because it was somewhere she'd been. This was her first visit. But it was very much like an R&D lab and that's where she spent a good portion of her time. She was surprised to see a familiar face when she spotted Daisy.

"Hello. Monica Chang, level 4. I was told to report here?" That little lilt at the end making that a question.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora has sat herself down on a table top cross legged. Tea in one hand and a book on particle physics in the other. She -was- reading when her sister rudely interrupted her with very interesting things. The book plays second fiddle to anything Daisy has to say.

"That's a dumb name," she states. "But go on..." Because it wouldn't be Kora if she didn't blurt out her opinion without hearing all the details first. "You were gone a while. Was that a Secret Warrior Mission?" Which is her indirect way of saying 'You told me we're go see mom soon'.

The tea is sipped. She's wearing the dark blue SHIELD jumpsuit but there's velcro on the arm where a SHIELD badge would be slapped on. It's bare. It fits her surprisingly well. This version has no special armor in it of course.

Of course, then there's a Monica Chang in the room. Kora raises an eyebrow, "I thought you all had the first name of Agent." Agent of SHIELD Kora is not. Level 4 though? that sounds weird to her. "I made it to level 17 in Tetris once," she remarks not at all sure what the level announcement was meant to mean. Then again - she kind of looks like a typical snarky SHIELD Agent who happens to be off duty right now.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Dumb name?! Must resist urge to noogie. Daisy does stare at Kora for a few moments before just commenting. "You can be a real sunshine when you want, you know?" yes, the tone is sarcastic in case anyone was wondering.

Daisy is dressed in her usual shield uniform today, black and blue, pair of advanced yellow goggles on her eyes while she is looking down at a tablet, going over the diagnosis for the tests on Kora. So far so good at least, "We will go later today." as if she could read between the lines on what Kora truly meant. And she also dodges having to say what she has been up to.

"And the good news is you are cleared to go on that trip." she puts the tablet away and looks up when Monica comes in. "Hello, Chang. Been a while." and there's absolutely no surprise about finding Monica here today. Suspicious! "Yes, I asked you to come. I wanted to make you a proposal." then a glance to Kora.

"But first. Introductions. This is Kora, my sister. She's a .., guest at the base for now." there's clearly a long story behind it that Daisy doesn't seem keen talking about right now.

"I wanted to talk to you about the Secret Warriors." this to Monica.

Monica Chang has posed:
Monica walked to close the distance, moving to within conversational space instead of being across the room. A proposal. Now that was interesting. She'd only recently been transferred to the Triskelion, something she had not asked for but certainly wasn't going to turn down being assigned there. Many people tried to get that posting and failed. For her to get it without asking? She knew something was up but not what.

Upon the introduction, she smiled at Kora. "A pleasure to meet you. And I don't like using the name Agent unless they make me," she added, offering her hand automatically for a handshake.

At mention of Secret Warriors, that brought Monica's gaze back over to Daisy. "Do we get swords? Cause that names sounds like we should get armor and swords." But then she gave a half apologetic grin and shrugged. "What are the Secret Warriors?" Just to prompt that she was trying to behave now, since she knew Daisy would be explaining.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora wiggles a finger in a twirling motion up in to the air, "Woohoo." It's said rather lackluster, "My midi-chlorian levels are normal." A true tragedy. The last movie Kora ever saw before she was taken by HYDRA was George Lucas's monstrocity, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. She was not impressed.

A sarchastic thumbs up is given to Monica at the news of her being cleared for travel. A fairly normal routine for SHIELD agents. Kora hates it. The last people to poke and prod her were HYDRA and before that Afterlife. At least this is her sister.

"Only biologically. We have nothing in common what so ever," she says deadly. Apparently she shares the same black humor as her sister. Kora is not taking any of this seriously yet. She puts a finger to her lips and says, "Sssh. It's a secret."

She sets the book aside and takes another sip of her tea. Jane, she has decided, is awesome. Tea's. So many tea's. "And by guest she means VIP. There's not a door I can't open in this place. Welcome to the SSR," she motions to the faded ye olde emblem on the brick walls. She still has no idea what the SSR was. And by 'open' she means blast open. There's context to that - she had to blast one open recently.

The weird truth is - all this snark and dark humor is the calmest and happiest Kora has been in a while. Between Jane being so hospitable and learning her mother and father are alive AND her baby sister. But actually it's Daisy more than anything else; capable of containing her gift when it goes haywire.

Kora does take a moment to stare at that hand. There's something deeper to her expression though. Fear. She almost goes to take it but stops. She gives the agent an awkward wave and then puts her hand back on the tea mug.

"Level 4 here is right Daisy. Swords. If there's no swords there's no point to being a secret warrior..." Her mind drifts to her mothers fancy jade sword.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Hold up. Did Kora just say midi-chlorians. "We don't use that word here." so serious. She even arches a brow at Kora. It's clear on her expression what she thinks of that particular movie. But then a broader grin, "We will get you to watch the actual good movies eventually.." pause, "Wait, maybe we will just do the original trilogy rerun..." yes, that sounds safer. "And maybe Rogue One.."

She ignores the rest of the jabs with that roll of the eyes of someone that's starting to get used to that kind of thing. No matter how much it makes her grind her teeth.

So she focuses on the Secret Warriors itself. "It's a group that was created with the rise of mutants, Inhumans and the rest of the metahumans that began appearing last few years." she explains, "We work with SHIELD but we do not truly belong to any specific division." she says, "Or answer to anyone but Director Fury himself." she folds her arms and leans back on her chair. "Our objective is to both protect those with powers like us, but also to protect the world from those that may threaten it. It's why Director Fury gave me leeway to choose Agents within SHIELD itself, those with powers like I do, to create this group."

"And it's also why I want you to join. It's why I asked you back to the Triskelion after all."

Monica Chang has posed:
"Ahhh." Now things were starting to click. Her transfer was arranged by Agent Johnson, wanting her for this specialized unit. They'd met during an assignment a bit back, where she'd seen some of Daisy's abilities. Though she didn't truly know what she was: Mutant, Inhuman, Meta.

The concept of the team made sense. When dealing with powered enemies, it was always good to have powered members of the team. Plausible deniability was huge in the espionage agencies. But something stood out to her.

"I only vaguely know what you can do and it's damned impressive," Monica says. "I appreciate being offered such a chance but not sure what I bring to the table. I am basically just human. Peak human but still just human. Unless you're wanting me to handle the R&D side of things? Though I figure you have people above my skills you could tap for robotics."

She shrugged slightly and tilted her head. "So, why me?"

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora's face screws up a moment, "What's Rogue One?" She never gets answers. No one has told her what youtube is yet. Only thing she knows is tiktok is like youtube. So that leaves her still not know what tiktok is either. Still it is super fun razzing Daisy. It's Kora's way of figuring out how she interfaces with her sister.

"Hah!" she blurts out at full volume as Daisy says 'Fury himself'.. then she double takes, "Wait, there's actually a person named Fury? Now THAT'S a dumb name. Ben Stiller eat your heart out." Though Ben Stiller played 'Mr. Furious, not 'Fury'.

Read the room Kora, apparently this Fury person is highly respected. But she did listen a little more. Protect Inhumans. Something Afterlife wouldn't even bother doing as it might 'expose' them. Well, it's not like they didn't have a point. HYDRA nabbed her quickly because she was unprepared for the world.

But it means her sister does good work. And if her solution is to bring people back to this base, perhaps she can convince her putting them in a cell is the worst way to start off a new relationship. Her lips twist a little and she looks at Monica.

This person has powers? meeting non-Inhumans with powers has been a bit of an eye opener for her. There was always a sense of superiority that ran through Afterlife and the Inhumans that lived there. Valid, perhaps, especially with their focus on helping new arrivals put the modern world behind them and find peace within their hearts.

But if people other than Inhumans can be special too, have gifts too, then what does that mean for supposed Inhuman superiority? More Afterlife lies unraveling.

Kora raises an eyebrow again as Monica describes what Daisy does as 'damned impressive' - everyone she's talked to has an extremely high opinion of her sister. Her lips twist again as she looks at her sister. A touch of envy in her eyes. Suddenly Kora is all quiet, letting Monica's question linger in the air.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The SHIELD experience is different for everyone.
Sometimes it's tons of paperwork slammed onto a desk with an angry looking agent demanding it be done before quitting time. Other times it's angry fishmen shooting net guns at you from the side of their submersible aircraft carrier. For some people it can be both, especially when those worlds collide or when one has a job within a job. Such as Agent Aaron.
At times he's a low-ranking level 2 SHIELD Agent still tagged for advanced training with the Tactical Response Teams under Agent Wilkins. At other times? Well, he's a low-ranking level 2 SHIELD agent... though under Agent Johnson's command. Sometimes the two worlds butt up against each other and now just so happens to be one of those times.
He makes his entry with little ado, barely any fanfare save for him giving a smile and a nod to Agent Avery who had been escorting Monica in to the meet. Wearing civilian garb, the ubiquitous jeans and a black t-shirt, he carried under his arm a manila folder and in his hand held between two fingers was a folded slip of paper.
    He advanced.
"Ma'am. Ms. Johnson. Agent Johnson." He extended the piece of paper to Daisy, giving a wan lop-sided smile as he presented it. Not exactly enthused.
The slip of paper reads, 'R&D/Field Agents on Duty: Agent Aaron to be aided in undercover activity, creation of identity using expertise of agents available to manufacture viable cover.'
After letting her read the note he presents the folder with the details of the op. Such as they are.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Everyone that has joined the group is impressive." Daisy says in a manner of agreement to what Monica says then leans forward on her seat when the other Agent plays down her own abilities. "I have read part of your file." did she learn about the Red Room? She certainly doesn't say it explicitly. "And of my years in SHIELD I have only seen a very small number of Agents doing the kind of moves you did. And only one with the same kind of ease you do."

So yes, Daisy is basically calling out Monica's bluff. Or maybe she just believes her powers are also damn impressive. Which they are.

"The R&D is bonus, and you'd find some already part of the Warriors as people you'd like to work with."

As Kora speaks of Fury's name she just looks at her, "He also wears an eyepatch.." then a shrug. "Lovely man, I am sure he will enjoy meeting you one day in the future."

There's a pause as Alexander. "Hello, Alex." a brow arching at the note that's given to her, then she opens the folder to read it.

"This is Monica Chang. An Agent I am recruiting for the Warriors. Alex has been with us for a bit now. Care to pitch in how your experience with us has been so far?" she asks him. Pause.

"They want you to infiltrate in a Games store?"

Monica Chang has posed:
That answered it. As Daisy made her points, Monica realized what she meant. There were only so many Red Room graduates in the world. They were an elite and specialized group. There were only two Black Widows though, one of which was a member of the Avengers and SHIELD. The other? Monica wasn't sure where she might be in the world currently. She'd been out of the Red Room for a few years now, thanks to SHIELD rescuing her.

Not only that she was a Widow but her other skills were a bonus. It made sense. Now that she knew Daisy was in on her secret. Not that it was a /big/ secret. She just didn't generally talk about it. "I see."

At mention of Fury being a lovely man, Monica had to nod. "He really is." Because he was responsible for giving her a chance. Taking those steps that they didn't have to, to break her conditioning. letting her know she could do anything she wanted instead of serving as she had been taught to do from infancy.

She turned at the introduction, considering offering her hand and remembering Kora's reaction to it so she opted for a nod. Maybe hand shaking was forbidden. Or one had to know the Super Secret Warriors handshake and she wasn't in thee club yet. "I saw you before," she murmurs. "R&D lab my first day at the Triskelion. When things went crazy for a bit."

Then she looked curiously at Daisy when she added the last "Games store?"

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora spills some of her tea as she leans forward and her legs unravel from their cross, "No...." She doesn't believe it. An eyepatch on a guy named Fury? this is some next level trolling from her sister, surely. She finishes unraveling her legs and dangles them over the edge of the table, the tips of her feet touching the ground. She wipes at the tea wetting of her jumpsuit. Oh well.

She looks over to Alex. This is the most at ease Kora has been since she got here. She gives him a nod, Agent Two First names." Harkening back to their quiet night chat in the lounge when Alex was doing the rounds.

There's a small snortchuckle and she covers her mouth. "What, Gamestop? Or has Blockbuster finally branched out in to games too..." No one has yet told her Blockbuster went out of business or that newcomer Netflix was no longer a by-mail-order video hiring service.

Kora gives Monica a slightly puzzled look and she asks a deliberate pointed question to Daisy. A serious one, her tone indicates she's not joshing around this time. "If it's a team of people with gifts, shouldn't we all knows what they are?" Because she wants to hear about the 'moves' that Daisy liked so much.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
When Kora greets him, Alex's return is a slight widening to the smile, a subtle crinkling of his nose. Then his gaze is directed to Agent Chang, Alexander meets her eyes and gives that easily offered smile. "Agent, think I remember." He looks away for a moment though perhaps steals a second glance albeit briefly before his attention returns to Daisy.
Then she asks her first question and he answers, "They're good people. Agent Johnson is in no way a harsh taskmaster and is a pleasure to work with." Which perhaps displays his utter mastery of the dead pan delivery, considering his smile remains just steady and stable the entire time.
Then the second question and his answer to that? At first it's merely a rise to his eyebrows, widening of his eyes, and his smile broadening to perhaps almost the realm of being sardonic. Likely not pleased about it. Then he adds, "Underground, in Pentagon City. Some shenanigans in that complex. But. Yeah."
And, to be fair, that folder does have a secure marking and Secret level clearance. Inside are some reports from government personnel about suspicious after hour activities. It's a fair lead, reasonable. But believability rated only moderate. Could just be a wild goose chase.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"That will come when Monica actually accepts joining us. And at her own time too." Daisy replies first to Kora, looking up from her perusal of the op file, "Also ..., no one has told you before but .., RIP Blockbuster." so unfortunate. Daisy actually mourned them. They were the biggest source of her pirate VHS collection. So RIP indeed...

"So, what do you say Monica? I believe you will bring a lot to the group, and you'd be welcome in." a glance to Alexander when he delivers that dead pan about her not being an harsh taskmaster. She arches her brows at him, "I keep my whip on my other pants."

"After hour suspicious activities. It's close enough to the Pentagon that this merits investigation to be honest. I thought this was a 'prank the newb' kind of thing but no .., seems legit." and opens the dossier on the table.

"Alright." And she looks between Kora and Chang. "We need to nerd this guy out to get him ready to go. Because Alex here was too cool for nerd stuff back in school." And Daisy knows that well! "Volunteers?"

Monica Chang has posed:
That had Monica looking a bit surprised. "Nerd him up?" And it was obvious she was trying very hard not to laugh.

Before she let herself get off on a tangent though, she did give a nod. "I accept your offer. Though I still think we deserve swords."

Which either is psychopathic or nerdy. Or both. Why must it be limited to one?! She considered the tall blond and shook her head. "I can help some. When it comes to computers and computer gaming, I'm your gal. Clothes seem to be fine." Jeans and a black t-shirt. The staple of most nerds. "Smells too good for some of the gamers I met." And why is she able to tell that at this distance? It's best not to ask questions.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora looks a little shocked. Blockbuster RIP??! Just thrown about, bandied, like it was nothing. Gordon would go to Blockbuster and steal VHS for the kids at Afterlife all the time. She puts down the tea and folds her arms defensively, in annoyance.

"Nerd him up?" she looks a little lost. Growing up in Afterlife she was not exposed to the social clicks and hierarchies of the American schooling system. All the kids learned similar stuff depending on their own level of interest in Afterlife.

She looks at Monica as they say the same thing. "Hang on what is going on here. What is a nerd?" The look of confusion on her face is genuine. She knows Aaron is extremely tight laced but is nerd simply the opposite of that?

Alexander Aaron has posed:
At the phrase, 'nerd this guy out,' Alex closes his eyes for a brief moment, then nods to himself as if this was a suitable fate. Just another burden to shoulder, clearly. He glances over toward Monica and says, "Agent Chang, surely you're not equipped to properly apply a suitable cover of nerdhood?" Which might be his way of saying clearly she's too cool considering that leather jacket is so very fashionable.
No such caveat is given to Daisy, however.
Though he does seem to cotton to Kora, considering he says. "A nerd in common parlance is a peripheral social entity usually with a good brain for tech things or science, but socially inept?"
A glance is given to Daisy and Monica to see if they might add something.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"It's a way of life..." Daisy adds in an helpful manner at Alexander's textbook explanation on what a nerd is. Because indeed Daisy had been one for a long part of her life. Well, she still was even if her stay at SHIELD had truly improved her social skills.

And that Monica accepts the offer? That makes her grin. A grin that only grows when she reveals liking gaming and computers. "Gooooood." she rubs her hands. "We shall have some fun. I am something of a gamer myself." this told with all the DaFoe panache she can muster.

She lifts her hands up to frame Alexander between her fingers as if she was taking a photo. "Maybe a pair of glasses to make the whole package more believable." then she is thinking about it. What could they get Alex on that would be relatable to him and in a way make it believable if he went undercover?

"So, you ever heard about Warhammer 40k?" she wonders. It's all about War after all. And she knows how Alex is tied to it. For better or worst.

There's a glance over to Kora, "You said midi-chlorians earlier. You are a certified nerd too." there.

Monica Chang has posed:
At the textbook definition of a nerd, Monica started to nod. Then she froze. As those words ran through her brain a few times. Good brain for tech or science. She was good at both, particularly tech. Socially inept? Check. Though, she already knew she was a nerd. Which has her looking back at Alexander since he didn't seem to think she could be a nerd. "Nerd. Geek. Whatever you want to call it. Pretty sure I quailify on some level."

She glanced to Kora, to try to help a little more. "Stereotypically, they are usually into certain areas of pop culture. Such as science fiction, fantasy, tabletop gaming, computer gaming. A lot of different hats that can be worn."

At mention of Warhammer, Monica smiled. "Great game. Love it. The video game, that is. That whole playing with maniatures on a table? Pretty sure it's the guy version of playing with dolls. Not that there is anything wrong with that," she added hastily. "No judgement here."

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora makes a pssha sound when Daisy suggests she's a nerd. She slips off the table and scoops up her tea and particle physics book. "Well. You all clearly have secret secret warriors business to figure out here. Glasses. Warhammer 40k. Whatever that is. Soooo..."

She turns to the door and lifts up the hand with the tea in a salute, "Later nerds." She pushes open the door to the lab and heads off back to the lounge to continue trying to read Jane's book. She's still stuck on the introduction having read it four times.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
In this moment Agent Aaron is all wide-eyed and accepting of what they tell him, his gaze going from each person in turn. Though when Daisy suggests a pair of glasses he gives a nod, already forming a mental list. "I've heard of it, was a good game on the X-Box a few years back?"
That said at the mention of midi-chlorians he shoots a glance at Kora and then winces a little, as if knowong how egregious it is to mention such in Daisy's presence.
"Your leather jacket argues against your nerd status, Agent Chang. Instantly voids all nerd claims. Much too fashionable." The young Olympian gives a nod then looks back toward Kora.
He lifts a hand to wave in her direction, "Goodbye, Kora." That smile turning up at the corner a little. He looks back toward Daisy.
"I was thinking glasses, maybe suitable like trendy t-shirt with I dunno. Something goofy like a Thor t-shirt?" He makes a face, "Big wrist watch?"
Though his eyes slip back toward Monica. "My dad has a collection of little soldiers. Like, not 40k, but historical. They look kinda cool."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
There's a sagely nod out of Daisy at Monica. "Exactly! And Alexander is perfect to be playing with those mandolls!" oh yes, Daisy is proud of having thought about getting Alex in as a 40k nerd. But then something else forms. "Ooorrr...., it could even be an historical war figures nerd. There's a market for that too and ...." Daisy fishes out her phone, quickly thumbing through it.

"Turns out the games store you are going does have an historical section so ...."

She nods at Chang. "We are in agreement. Jeans. T-shirt. Glasses. Unhealthy knowledge about old war figures..." she points a finger here and there as if still considering him. "Maybe not take a bath for a day or two but eh..., lets not go too stereotype. You can be the handsome nerd."

"Also, you leave Chang's jacket alone you hear?" She teases.

With Kora turning to go she keeps her eyes on the door for a time, "Get ready, we will leave a bit later today." lips press to a thin line as if she was troubled with something.

Monica Chang has posed:
"You have an unhealthy interest in my jacket." Monica just lays it out there on the table. She eyes Alexander critically a moment then Kora is about to depart. "Nice meeting you."

But then it's back to business! She eyes Alexander. "And yeah, though the game is far better on PC. Most things are, admittedly. But I still just love a console sometimes." She shrugged and continued, focusing back on the task at hand.

"He already has the unkempt hair. The glasses are a bit of a stereotype but they'll help since they interrupt the lines of the face and thus make someone more difficult to recognize without them."

Then she was walking around him, critical eye picking up on things. "You work out a lot. Which kind of fits. Because the hot nerds are usually the ones that are more secretive about their nerd status as they don't want the guys on the football team to know."

Then she spotted something. "Wait!" She eyes him the Daisy. "How come /he/ gets a sword?" Because there were telltale signs on his hand, the way the calluses were that showed some of his interests. Swords. Martial arts.

"Nevermind." She was going to get herself a sword, dammit. "He really doesn't have to do the stinky thing. Should read up on Warhammer, get a bit more knowledge about the lore. And the historical figures, since he was apparently raised with them." She glances to him for confirmation of that.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Aww, the handsome nerd." Alexander says with a little more warmth to his voice, grinning a little smugly. "But I can do that... military history is a strong point for me." He looks between Monica and Daisy. Then he leans forward and a little around to peek over and see what he can see on Agent Johnson's phone, nodding as he looks at the historical section. Then he leans back.
A comment is made about his hair and he pushes it back with the brush of one hand... only for it to fwumpf back into its disheveled place almost instantly. Then there's a Monica walking around him and he's eyeballing her sidelong as she moves, "I dunno." About his working out, "I'll wear baggy clothes." Since better to have it not come up than for it to come up. "I'll read about the brands. Maybe I can fake it by sort of sneering about Warhammer and say it's for poseurs?" Since that can work for nerd street cred.
"I like her jacket." He answers in defense toward Daisy, gesturing as he looks to her. "It's a nice jacket."
A pause, however, catching that end look from Daisy. "Are you alright?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Chang mentioning consoles gets a bit of a wrinkled nose out of Daisy. "PC Master Race all the way.." look, Daisy has her convictions okay? And she's a PC girl all the waaaaaay!

Daisy continues to sit though, perhaps a touch amused as Monica begins to do the 'tour' around the blonde one. In a way Daisy is studying her too. Watching how she adapts and reacts. And it's very much how she expected someone from the Red Room to do. Find a way to blend in, not overdoing it. Yes, she was a good choice for the Warriors.

"You let the pro nerds worry about what you will dress, dear." She says when Alexander starts talking about wearing baggy clothes, "Though you actually could go that route, fixing on your strong point, historic military stuff." then a glance to Monica. "You can join him on the assignment if you wish. Think of it as the first Secret Warriors mission. I feel we need more eyes on this Pentagon City thing." she tapping a finger on the dossier. "As for swords .., Alex brought his own. In a way many of us in the group bring our own things to it, you are not limited to just SHIELD gear. In fact many don't.." she considers it a moment. "Also, think of a codename." a grin, "And don't tell me to choose one. The last ones that did that came to regret it."

Alexander's last question has her shift her attention to him and she shakes her head. "No, I am bringing Kora to meet our mother and ..., I don't really think it will go well."

Monica Chang has posed:
Daisy picked it out perfectly. The best way to blend in is to not stand out. Just be one of the crowd. Do nothing extraordinary, don't make oneself the center of attention. Pick up on the people around and adapt to fit.

"T-Shirt and jeans is fine. Graphic tees even better. So yeah, a Thor shirt wouldn't be that out of character," Monica murmurs as she stops in front of him, putting her arms akimbo as she considered him critically.

At the suggestion she too could go undercover in a games store, she snaps her head over toward Daisy. "I think I'm good...wait, you aren't actually asking are you?" She can recognize an order that isn't given as an order but really is an order. Which has her looking at Alexander and frowning because clearly it was his fault.

"Good to know on equipment." But the concept of a codename has her stumped. "I'll think on a codename. Don't want to be completely obvious, y'know? Maybe something spider-centric still." She pursed her lips as she considered.

Then she fell silent as things turned serious in regards to familial matters.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Alexander's eyes lower but his smile grows, though trying to hide it to hear Daisy and Monica's opinions on the proper utilization of technology in the exploration of recreational gaming. Maybe he wasn't the best choice for this mission, considering. Or at least that's the thought bouncing around in his head when he finally lifts it back up, looking even more smug or self-amused as he looks to the two women.
Then at the suggestion for Monica joining him on the mission he quirks an eyebrow at the secretive Widow. He says, "Well if she comes along, I'll have a clean run at their facility since all eyes will be on her." Considering the impact of someone of her standing wandering into a game store might well be a strong one.
"Though I'll consider it if you nerd her up too?" A possibility as he looks back at Daisy, smiling a little.
But then codename is brought up and he lifts his eyes upward. "Agent Danger Jacket." There, settled. At least as far as he's concerned.
Though the mention of family does bring things around at the same moment as Monica seems to sober a bit. "Family can be a trial. I hope it goes better than you think."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Hint. We already got a Spiderwoman." A wink following that. And who the heck belongs to those Secret Warriors after all?! "I will get you a folder with the names of the others. Suffice to say, if the name didn't make it obvious already, this is a secret group. It means very little people outside know, even higher ranks. It's Fury, an handful of others, and then the members themselves. And we want to keep it that way."

Daisy just arches her brows when Monica realizes Daisy wasn't asking. Maybe Alex wasn't so wrong about that 'harsh taskmaster' comment earlier on. "You two will make a good team. I know it already." she grins at them, perhaps trying to put them more at ease on that mission. Then she points at Alex. "See what I mean about not letting us pick your codename?"

"Family is .., yea. One way or another I am just glad to have found her. I didn't even know I had a sister a few weeks back so .., whatever happens after will be better than before." she looks between them a moment. "She may come to join us in the future too. When things are .., better with her powers."

Monica Chang has posed:
"I wouldn't have picked that anyway. A little too on the nose," Monica says with a little grin. But she is already having to think about this assignment. "Could you forward the relevant files for the mission to me?" Since she needed to have that data plan.

At the codename suggestion, she narrowed her eyes at Alexander. "Yeah, no. I definitely see what you mean, Agent Johnson. I promise I'll figure it out in the next day or two."

Then she glances to the side as the conversation about Daisy's situation is mentioned. Not knowing she had a sister. Better with her powers. Obviously much more to this story. But she felt kind of like she was intruding, being the newcomer.

"If you both will pardon me. I only had an hour slated for this and I am supposed to be reporting on duty at the Triskelion soon. Just enough time to fly back."

A smile to them both. "Thank you for the opportunity. I look forward to meeting the rest of the group and working together." And with that, she would turn to head out.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
As it becomes clear that Daisy is definitely not suggesting but instead ordering... well Alexander smiles a little ruefully. He lowers his eyes, then looks back up abruptly as he puts on a happy face, though when he shoots a look toward Monica he mouthes the word, 'Sorry.'
For ultimately it's his fault she got roped into this.
Then he looks back to Daisy and gives a nod, "Kora seems like a decent person. She's doing well for being put into a rather tough situation. Do you need any operational support with it?" Since yes it's a family trip, and a visit. But these are extraordinary people and sometimes... it's good to have safeguards.

It's only after a few moments while Monica departs that he looks back in the direction she left, then back toward Daisy. "I like her."
