The Ol Danger Room Switcharoo
Date of Scene: 02 November 2022
Location: The Danger Room - Titan's Tower
Synopsis: Kate gives a Danger Room scenario design lesson to Terry and Kaida with Gar's Assistance. Kaida's first project, CyberNinja Beach Death Match.
Cast of Characters: Kate Bishop, Terry O'Neil, Gar Logan, Kaida Connolly

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate has the holographic controls up for the dangeroom. It is the easiest way to create complicated scenarios and probably the easiest for people not quite as, familiar, to interface with as well.

"Okay so... this is how you interface with it, every Titan with access permissions can create scenarios through these controls. It is very intuitive and sort of helps paint out the structure as well to connect and populate scenarios. Natural language interfacing if that is what you want."

She twists the holographic controls and then says "New York Street. Midnight. Raining. Convenience Store Robbery." and the scene shimmers to life around the room. Frozen not started but it is all there. "Replace robber with Intergang members. Replace convience store with New York Star Lab facility." and the senario adapts.

"You can always go under the hood and code it in directly but... thisnatural language and holographic interface can do a lot of the heavy lifting if you want to get a starting point for it all." she pauses then twists her hand in the controls. "Clean Slate." and the whole scenario vanishes.

Turning to the others she settles on Kaida and Terry "One of you want to give it a go?" she knows Gar has done scenarios before, he has been playing with all this longer than she has really. At least she thinks.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The Cheshire cat raises an eyebrow, "So, just off the cuff question here, but how likely is this thing to create a Star Trek Moriarty scenario? Because I am not keen on accidentally creating life that then feels entitled to take the tower hostage so that we can give it a body. And then we'd have to find a way to extricate it from Vic because it decided his was the perfect vessel."

Why, yes, he has read a lot of science fiction, why do you ask? "Has it been updated with data from our recent jaunts? Like, could we recreate a Wonderland scenario here, or are we keeping things more... grounded in reality?"

Gar Logan has posed:
Beast Boy's gathered with a couple others, though he came over with Vorpal. "I've done a lot of them, but I'm not feeling all that creative today and I was thinking someone else could pick. And not you," he finishes, gesturing to Vorpal.

He's already in costume, arms crossed loosely before him, leaning a hip against the wall. "But it can do just about anything you want. Giant hamster wheel, Upside-Down World, a bed filled with $240 worth of pudding. Awww yeeaaahh." The reference is delivered without the usual level of panache.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Oh! Oh! I'll go! Bring me up something super dangerous!" Kaida leaps on to the back of a chair and grins before looking to Vorpal and rolling her eyes. She puts her hand on her hip and pffts at him. She shakes her head and gestures toward the controls.

"This is reality, Terry, not some science fiction scenario. This thing isn't going to create some sentient being that we gotta fight. In the real world, you get turned into a mouse or are the descendant of a cat." She nods and gestures at Terry before looking back to Gar and then looking at Terry again, "Or you're green."

Kate Bishop has posed:
"It should have all our mission reports and a lot of data from the recent adventures. We do that so we can replay those missions and random adventures and try different tactics to see how it might have gone. Probablistically though... not like it can account for literally every curveball thrown by nature." she shrugs a tough.

She has her gear too. Kitted up because she knew she was going to offer up the controls and not just run the scenario.

"I ... after the roomba incident I'll never say never about things like... the danger room going rogue and sentient. Too likely around here." she smirks.

Kate's attention settles on Kaida. "Okay, well." she twists the controls and tells the danger room to accept Kaida's requests to create a scenario. "Okay Kaida, tell it in as much detail as you like what you want to have as our scenario."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Thank you for the vote of confidence, Gar, I love you too," Vorpal smirks and turns his attention to Kaida. "Kaida, dear, might I remind you that our 'real world' comprises.... well, me? Anything is possible."

He leans back against the wall and crosses his arms, "Go ahead, Kaida. Create something awesome for us!"

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan flicks Vorpal a peace sign, or what could be considered a 'V' instead. "Yeah, because I'm not sure we're ready for whatever you'd come up with right now." However, as Kaida already wishes for something 'super dangerous' he holds out his hands. "Mmmaybe not. Couldn't we just do something chill, like a beach scenario in the Caribbean, pretty people all around us getting us whatever we want? We could do that for real sometime, too. Green or not, cat or not, mouse or not."

He adds to Kate, "I record as much as I can when I'm out doing something official, then I come back and upload it to the system here. We can play back anything we've ever done, as long as it's coded up. And if it isn't, we can still piece something together. Let's not think about things going sentient, though. I'm really not ready to think about that."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Looking at the controls, Kaida's tail twitches left and right while her ears swivel to listen to requests before she grins at Gar and then claps her hands. She bounces a little and giggles.

"That's a great idea! I believe we need a scenario at a resort with beautiful guys and girls all around, many working there as servers but unfortunately a secret clan of ninjas masquerade among the guests and servers ready to fight us in combat using their cybernetic attachments and weapons!" She nods her head and claps her hands before looking back at Gar and giving a thumbs up.

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate watches the banter and then looks around as the room shifts to a beachside resort, with all the beautiful a-list types you could imagine. Men and Women.

There are of course servers asking people if they would like fresh drinks. Bringing extra towels out for the beach chairs down off the patio area. A couple of life guards.

"Well. This should be interesting if nothing else. I bet Vorp gets sand in his fur. Gar too." then she lets go of the holographic interface and notes "Engage." and all of the guests just come to life and motion all around them going about their business. Ordering slushy tropical drinks.

Which lasts like five seconds before one of the waits points and shouts "Titans!" at the clustered up group of heroes.

Then he pops cybernetic mantis blades from his forearms and charges at Terry.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan raises a finger. "That's not what I..okay, fine. Let's go." The scenario loads up, and they start out in relax mode.

However, it isn't long at all before the waiters move in to change it up from peace to problem. "Really, we couldn't have enjoyed, like, a couple hours of kicking back first?"

Rather than engaging immediately, he leaps upward into the form of a bird, putting some space into things so he can prepare a method of attack.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Wow, that's amazing and look at all the nice a-oh!" And Kaida is cut off before she can say much more when a man in an outfit straight out of Baywatch goes full Cyberpunk and leaps toward Terry. She laughs happily and pulls out her sword and shield. A moment later, she is rushing right at the ankle of the cybernetic attacker, her tiny blade aimed right for the side of his foot in an attempt to stagger him in the worst way.

"What do you mean?!" Kaida calls out as she spins around and faces Gar, her weapons drawn, "Nothing better than kicking some cyberninja butt before we get drinks and take in the scenery! It's better when you earn it!"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Huh, that reminds me of that grumpy guy who is the gardener at that school..." Vorpal comments, leaping back to get some distance from the robo-ninja while Kaida has a go at him. "Yes, we're Titans, that means you get five brownie points in object recognition, but the question is- how good are you at dodging?"

A purple bowling ball construct is tossed at the cyer-bully, giving him a distraction while Kaida works her happy, gleeful warrior mouse charm.

Kate Bishop has posed:
The Cyberninja Waiter leaps over the purple bowling ball. "Plenty good!" he remarks, right in time for super mouse to pull an achilles on his foot, causing them to go tumbling down.

The real problem with this though, is all the rest of the staff. From waiters. To the Lifeguards. Even the hottie Bartender all pop cyberware and focus on the four titans. There are blades. Monofiliment whips. Big chonking guns extending from robot forearms. The whole gambit of deadly body modiciations.

All pointed at, and in gar's case up at, the Titans. "Get Em!!" one of them shouts.

Which is when Ball Room Blitz starts playing over the whole beach scene and all hell breaks loose.

That last part is probably Kate's fault, or maybe the whole thing is improving musoc sound tracks now.

Kate draws her sword instead of her bow and engages one of them with a sparking cyberKatana. "Ok.. this was a good call Kaida." because Kate is at least enjoying herself.

Gar Logan has posed:
"Aww, are you trying to shoot down little ol' me?" the green bird taunts, and he pauses in midair to call out, "Really?!" as the song starts up from both everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

A blast comes a little too close for comfort, which snaps him out of it. "Fine. Fine! You want some? You want some of this?" The wings spread wide, like he's gesturing at them to bring it, then he descends lower at a quick pace, only to pull up about equally between two tracking him with their shots.

The idea? Get them both to shoot at him without realizing they'll hit each other when he's no longer in the line of fire.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Ya know, bullets are really crazy for me!" Kaida declares as she ducks down behind her little shield for a moment as one hits it and shoves her back a bit. She then races forward, zipping between spots to try to become a terribly hard object to hit even as a large man with what appears to be hammer hands slams the ground in front of her. She whistles.

"I see them moving so much slower than they should." She jumps on to the back of one of the hammers as it hits the ground and rides it back up only to leap off of it and spin through the air at the front of one of the big guns a woman in a two piece is wielding. She seems to be aiming to get shot only for her shield to be right in front of the barrel so when it fires, she gets sent flying back at ol' Hammer Hands with insane force. Her tiny form is going both feet first for his nose and the impact is startling.

"Like, I can't just dodge any old bullet. I'm not that fast." She says as she rides the hammer handed, broken nosed, bald man down to the ground.

"I just have more ability to react to them, which helps a lot!" She nods even as the man lands with a thud, "Helps me that is, not this guy."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Are we really doing a musical fight number? Are we?" Vorpal says, as the cyber ninjas close in on him. "Alright. But I am doing this under great protest because I only dance-fight to ABBA."

A flash of purple light, and an enormous mallet appears in his hands, large enough to make Harley's eyes turn into twin hearts, "But you owe me!"

And off he goes. The mallet flies, just as he does, glorying in his acrobatic prowess to make himself hard to catch and hard to hit. He jumps onto the shoulders of one, and steps on another's head, only to leap off and bring the ban-hammer down. Blades cut at him, though he manages to only get minor scratches here and there. He is being deliberately careless, perhaps to lure the enemies into a false sense of security? They might confident and attack at an apparent lapse in his form, leaving themselves open to a Rabbit Hole dodge and counter attack.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"Not your scenario so you don't get to pick the music Vorp." she quips as she ducks under the bladed assassins swing. She does have to admire the body on this female lifeguard. No idea where she hid the Katana. It is also a shame when Kate brings the sword up and into the cyberninja and then steps away to see what is next as the lifeguard slumps to the ground.

Meanwhile the two Gar setup do what one would expect, shoot each other soundly in the face when Gar moves out of the way. It is almost comical, if not so lethal. One of them was like "Oh FRack!" right as the triggers pulled, but the cyberreflexes don't help.

Speaking of Comical, well Vorpal is dealing with the cartoon approach, as only someone who could have been costars in Who Framed Roger Rabbit could be. Hell there is tweaty birds when that Mallet connects around one of the robbers. The danger room is having fun Riffing. Should people be worried. Probably.

It isn't too hard for the four Titans though to mop up the Resort Ninjas. Hell some of the booze in the beachside bar even seems to have survived. Bodies piled and sprawled all over in various states of taken down.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan miiiight not have been intending for them to kill each other, but this /is/ a simulation. All the same, he recoils visibly at that, then picks his openings in a more definitive way while making use of some of his typical forms. This time, he goes for disabling rather than anything more than that, and all four of their unique sets of skills make this challenge on the easier side. Good idea for the moment.

"/Now/ can we kick back? Even if that means we have to get our own snacks and all?" he asks, back to normal in the end, none the worse for wear.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Once the last of her targets falls, Kaida leaps over to a spot at the bar and leans on to one of the still intact whiskey glasses and shakes her head.

"Silly robot ninja people, don't they know that the fighting comes AFTER the drinking." She chuckles and casually looks over at the others, "Stupid to have a fight near or at a bar before you're drunk. Really need to work that out with the AI that decides these things." She grins and then Kaida casually considers and then looks around.

"Wait, did hte program make them /ALL/ evil androids? I mean, honestly, that's just silly." She then shrugs and looks to Gar before considering, "Wait...are all the snacks simulated?! I hope not..."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"You know, I once watched this movie called Surf Ninjas. It was just as bad as this. The only reason I watched the thing all the way through the end is because the older brother was hot." Vorpal says, dismissing his mallet and looking at the pile of defeated enemies. "I just want you to know," he says to those who can't hear him anymore, "That I am giving this place one star on Yelp."

He walks over to Kate and Gar, and hooks an arm around the green titans' waist. "Hey, if we wanna kick back, why don't I Rabbit Hole us to an /actual/ resort in the Caribbean? We'll be back here in time for dinner. And we can stop by the rooms to grab our swimsuits. We can make a day of it after some good training."

He rubs at the slight cut on one arm. It was merely a scratch, and he had urposedully fought fast and loose to give the enemy a false sense of security. It did work, and the cyber ninjas found themselves regretting having underestimated him- but whether he was good enough to fool flesh and blood enemies? That was to be seen.

He gives Gar a raised eyebrow and leans in to whisper in his ear, "You know which one you should get," he says enigmatically and leaves it at that.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"I mean that way Kaida can have real snacks even, instead of hologram snacks, and also real drinks.. and sun.. and waves..."

She trails off but seems quite sold on the whole idea. "I'm a big fan of Anguilla or St. Vincent." putting in her vote for beach side destinations. Then she speaks up "Program End." and the fake beach and defeated Ninjas just fade away.
