Cast of Characters: Kitty Pryde, Bruce Banner

Kitty Pryde has posed:
It has been quiet awhile since Kitty Pryde has last seen Bruce Banner. Originally bumping into him after attending a talk he gave at a university, she'd stood out at the time as the only person who had a physics question for him, rather than a Hulk question. Chatting after the symposium had turned into Bruce sharing a few books with Kitty and discussing them over lunch a few times. Kitty had been determined to help get Bruce out rather than see him stuck in the mansion all the time.

Though life had gotten busy, and Kitty realized a whole year had gone by since they'd talked last. And she still had the last book he'd given her. Rather than call ahead, Kitty decided to surprise him. By now Bruce Banner knew that Kitty was one of the X-men, if perhaps not much more than that.

Kitty pulls into the mansion's drive in a new LexCorp electric car. She gives her name at the gate to JARVIS and is admitted. Not long after she's climbing the stairs to the residential wing, carrying the book with her down to Bruce Banner's door where she knocks.

Kitty stands there waiting for him to answer, book in hand. She's wearing a black skirt and boots with a dark blue blouse, and her hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Bruce Banner has posed:
Microscopes and blood.

Bruce thinks an answer to his condition lies in hematology. He poked himself with a needle in a classical blood draw and dripped a sample onto a glass piece and put it under 250x magnification. He's in his white lab coat, a black dress shirt and same-colored slacks adorn his legs. He hears a knock at the door. A single knock and his eyes turn towards the door.

Who would be knocking? Do they need the Hulk again?

"Steve, I already told you that I don't-" He opens the door, looking more than a little surprised when he sees a rather comely girl that he hasn't seen for...oh, it must've been a full year know.

"Katherine?" He looks at her with a strange look in his eyes. "I uh...it's been a long time. To what do I owe the honor?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde's face lights up in a brilliant smile. "I realized I'd been negligent in coming to see you," Kitty tells Bruce. "I haven't been in the city as much of late. Or, I hadn't been anyway, and so what had used to be just dropping by when convenient, well, I need to make more of an effort, I figured," she says.

She holds up the book, which is not one Bruce probably would ever need to refer back to, but it's one of those books that anyone in his area of physics would have a copy of. "I made it through this awhile ago and figured I'd drop it back. And see how you're doing," she says.

She looks up at Bruce's hair and he can tell she's trying to suppress a grin. She reaches up and pushes down a lock of hair that could only be called unkempt and unruly, enough to make him look like he'd been doing science and probably not thinking about a lot else.

Bruce Banner has posed:
Negligent?

"W-well, I get that people you know, get busy." Bruce starts to wrigle his hands together. A constant nervous habit even as he regards the young woman. "Well, the good news is, you're not inconvenient." He smiles warmly towards her, though he looks at the book that she holds up.

"Hah..." He looked thoroughly entertainied as he accepts it. "This old thing? I thought this would be in a trash can by now." It was one of his first ones growing up. A limited edition copy. He's surprised she even decided to /keep it/ and even more surprised that she wanted to see how he was doing.

Her hand moving some locks of his hair makes him blush more than a little. "o-oh." He clears his throat. "I'm doing alright...I think I'm getting closer." He frowns, but he takes in her appearance. "But I'm well. How are you? Thank you for returning this book."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty smiles to Bruce and tells him, "I'm doing really well. Been working at the school mostly, guidance counselor. And the whole superhero thing. X-men saved a bunch of abductees from getting sent through portals into another dimension, last night. So I'm a little short on sleep," she says with a chuckle. "Though as far as jobs, I'm looking to get back into doing some IT work again." She had been consulting at JVD Fashion and at Fisk Enterprises, back when she and Bruce were having lunches to talk physics.

"So, I don't want to take you away from your work. But I'm wondering if you've remembered to eat? And if not, I could stand a bite too. Maybe we could order something from the cooks here and you could catch me up on what you're working on?" she asks. "If I'm not interrupting or getting in the way that is. If so I can head out. Just... missed talking to you, Bruce," she tells him warmly.

Bruce Banner has posed:
"Good, good. You have a kind, warm demeanor. A counselor is a good fit for you, I think. The X-Men and....dimensions?" Bruce looks a little baffled. "I don't recall the X-Men tackling matters of interdimensional nature, but it /has/ been some time....maybe you always have and I'm just out of the loop." another reason for Bruce and Kitty to get back on the track, so to speak.

"IT? That could work. It's a bit...interesting of a field to get into." He smiles at her, though he hums. "I...uh...haven't eaten." In two days. The man is focused on his work. Always. "I could stand for some food. Is there umm...a type of food that you're wantng?" Sh etells him that she missed talking to him, and his cheeks flush red.

"I missed talking to you too, Kitty."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty lets out an exhalation at the question about other dimension, blowing a few stray wisps of hair that made it out of her pony tail to dangle across her cheek. They fall right back after the breath is done. "Oh, yes, this one... well, Rogue's father was being held there and escaped and... revolution to free people and," she says, waving her hands about as if this kind of stuff happens from time to time.

"It's not our forte, not like the Richards and the rest of the Fantastic Four. But yes, we have some happenings there. The Brimstone Dimension. One of our people is the Queen of Limbo because... ah... ask me that story another time. It's not short," she says with a sigh.

The talk of food is much better. "How about a couple of sandwiches?" she suggests, and then eyes Bruce's body. A bit thinner perhaps than she remembers? "Maybe you should get some soup too?" she asks, resting a hand on his shoulder. "Shall I call something in? What kind of sandwich and soup do you want?"

Bruce Banner has posed:
"Rogue's father?" Bruce titls his head. "I thought that most people at the school were orphaned or had...well, difficult relations with their parents?" It surprises him greatly, but he seems happy that Rogue and her father had reunited. "Sounds intense. The Brimstone Dimension?" He looks as if he wonders that Hulk has been there or not. Sometimes it feels like he's in the back seat, forced to watch everything the Hulk does.

Other times? Like he just got hit in the back of the head by a brick and he blacks out the rest of the time.

"Dr. Richards and the Fantastic Four are always pushing the boundaries of the known universe." He laughs a little bit. "But the Queen of Limbo? Is that...I could've sworn I may have met her." He likely has.

"Sure." He states, though he seems oblivious that she's looking at him like that. Yes, he is a little scrawnier, though not by much. He hasn't been taking much good care of himself.

"Can I have a BLT? And uh, whatever the soup of the day is?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty gives Bruce Banner a smile and a nod. "Sure thing, Doc," she tells him warmly, and then calls down to the kitchen. "Yes, Dr. Banner would like a BLT. Extra bacon, and toast the bread. And chicken noodle soup, if you can make it really hearty with a few carrots and some other vegetables that would be good," she says, before lowering her voice to a stage whisper. "I don't think he's eating enough. And I'll take a French Dip if you can make that? Great. And pickles for both of us, and maybe some vegetables with some dip. Iced tea is fine. Thank you!"

She hangs up the phone, and moves to takes a seat. "So, have you, ah, has the other guy been around much lately, or have you managed to keep him under wraps?" she asks.

Bruce Banner has posed:
"Thank you."

Bruce starts to turn around to head to his desk, though he is completely oblivious to what Kitty had spoken into the phone. But he heard the letters 'BLT' and assumed everything was fine. Thankfully, he's completely unaware of what she had spoken about him not eating as well.

Sneaky!

He shakes his head. "Been keeping him under wraps for awhile. Nothing has come up where he's needed....and nobody has tested my composure." He frowns. "I call that lucky." He chuckles. "What about you? Learn anything interesting about your powers, any new tricks?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde listens to the comments about the other guy. "I'm glad you haven't had any incidents," she says. She looks thoughtful, as if she might say something else, but then seems to think otherwise of it.

She then shakes her head in reply about her own powers. "No. I'm still not quite sure what their extent is. When I phase... I can't really describe it but when I hit that point I'm phased... that doesn't feel like as far as I can go. I just stop myself there. I'm a little afraid what might happen if I kept going. If I'd end up... somewhere else. Somewhere I might not be able to get back from," she says, her arms going about herself in tight self-hug.
