Date of Scene: 28 November 2022
Location: Swordfish Bar (SHIELD)
Synopsis: Natasha and Yelena make plans to go clothes shopping.
Cast of Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff is settled over in the Swordfish bar, on a rare enough time she was actually trying to be engaged i one of these 'social' things. A large board was setup for Go, with marbles spread over that she would be occasionally moving one on, replacing the other marbles as need be. Rather than playing anyone in particular, she seemed to be waiting periods and then moving another piece almost at random.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Rumours of the Swordfish are true, then? It holds the most boring of all games, plus a couple that perhaps were not counted upon? A bundled up against the cold Yelena comes in (as only a Russian could), her coat of a plaid fashion, midi-leather skirt, a crop-top beneath a sweater that has dubious ability as proof against temperatures, and rings on most of her fingers. Blonde hair is up in her french braid, with wisps dangling down on either side. Like most of her entrances, it's deliberate showcased as she walks towards the bar for that first drink of many.

Natasha is espied, and once the glass is gained, she holds her hand up in request for a second one before heading towards the other Widow.

*clink*

The drink is set down beside the brunette, and Yelena pulls up a chair easily. "You did not tell me about so much sales."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would glance over at Yelena for a moment over while she would move to sit back, "Why, I supposed that if anything would catch your attention it would be mass looting and possible slaughter. I didn't want to take the joy away from you for your first time getting to experience it. Some things are better left to oneself aren't they?" She would do a rare enough tease over of Yelena.

"So how many did you have to neutralize between you and what you were after?" She decides to use 'neutralize' rather than 'drop' as in theory they are treating Yelena as normal.. So within the hearing range of the others.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena grins broadly, following Natasha's commentary with a quick laugh. The glass she'd brought over is lifted, drained, and set down on the table near the cache of marbles. "It was wonderful. Such anarchy for stuffed animals, but they are so cute." There's a sound of victory in her tones, and the smile turns a touch sly. "There will be presents this year from Father Christmas."

Yup. Squishmallows.

Leaning back now, a booted foot is lifted to rest on a nearby chair. "None that can be tracked back to me." She shrugs lightly, and that smile lingers with a quick underlying nod to her head. "Definitely fun. Will do it again next year, now that I know what to expect."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would smile over at Yelena, "Good. I'm glad that you had a good experience with it. And you did it of your own initiative. I'm proud of you." she would give a rare enough smile over to Yelena. "And I'm sure that you left more than your share of scars with everyone, whether they were physical or mental regardless of whether they knew it was you or not."

She would lean back. "I'm rather uncertain of this season. I've never been sure whether I want to like it or not."

Yelena Belova has posed:
"I have fond memories of Christmas as child." There's a hint of wistfulness that can be heard in those tones before she shakes her head, pulling herself out of it. Years of training. It's a battle, and at the moment, it's not quite certain as to which side will win.

"But," Yelena's booted foot hits the ground again, and now she's leaning forward. "Shopping is always more fun with someone else." Tag team. "So, I discovered this store, and it is big. Huge. It takes up entire city block." FAO Schwarz...

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would nod over at Yelena, "I see. I'm surprised it took you this long. So how much did you appropriate over for yourself from it?" She's not bothering to ask for the distinction of whether it was 'bought' or 'taken'. That's not important in the scheme of things.

"I've been there. mostly onb usiness. And I'll tell you what, if it means a lot to you. You've been good lately.. S O we can go clothes shopping together."

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena shrugs lightly and looks down at her outfit before looking up again and around the room. "It is new. Novelty will wear off soon enough and I will be looking for next new thing." Which, if her former handlers ever heard that, they'd probably start sweating. Of course, new handlers may not like the idea either!

Holding up a hand, her finger arches up and she shakes it, "No. That would be telling. This, however, is new outfit." Yelena takes the upraised hand and gestures down, showing off her clothing selection. "Sometimes is helpful having large bear who can carry a lot." She chuckles, and her words drop, "Even if he does smell." Like bear and booze.

With her feet on the ground, she looks over at the glass she'd brought for Natasha and nods towards the glass, "Drink, then we will go shopping for your hero friends." A woman on a holiday mission!

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
This is why Natasha doesn't keep constant track of Yelena. She may be old, but she doesn't want to force herself into becoming a Babushka. She has far too many of her own terrors to deal with. And she's the only one in SHIELD she trusts to keep an eye on Yelena.

Which is why she put a great deal of effort into ensuring that Yelena became a regular field agent. Best of all possible worlds. "OF course. I'm sure that you can find some others to help carry. Or you could just challenge them to a drinking contest so they not only have to pay for the drinks but also to carry the things. And very well. To drinkinga nd shopping it is." On Stark's expense account! She would clink her glass.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena has no babushka. She now has a 'dya-dya', that is, 'uncle' in the form of a bear, however. No one ever said that a Black Widow's life was //normal//, nor could it ever truly be so, regardless of status. Everything is taken in a measure of grace, to be used or not as the case may be. Opportunities abound!

"Good. Shopping it is." Holding out a bent arm to the other widow, she's ready to take on NYC again.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would go to finish her drink, "Very well. We'll have arrangements made." The two Widows out shopping for clothes.

Poor city.
