Morning Exercise for the Residents of the Skel
Date of Scene: 24 April 2020
Location: Athletics: Triskelion
Synopsis: The morning workout: The time before work is a time for contemplation
Cast of Characters: Bobbi Morse, Daniel Hastings

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi is keeping up a fast pace on a treatmill. She has earpods in and listening to The Alan Parsons Project. A watch on her wrist is keeping track of her heart. She checks it from time to time. Her skin is glistening as she pushes herself just a little more every few minutes. Wearing a tank top, sports shorts, and sneakers. As is typical for her, she has her hair tied back in a ponytail. Her heart rate is quite low despite the exertion of running. A water bottle is resting in the front console. She grabs it and takes a sip.

Daniel Hastings has posed:
Towel. Water. Watch. That's all Daniel needs as he trods into the gym and finds an open treadmill next to Bobbi. "Morning." He offers with a chipper smile to her as he begins stretching his legs out. "What's your distance?" It's a casual question followed by a curious eye to the digital display of the machine she's running on. As a long distance runner, he always likes to know the competition. Rogers notwithstanding.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Of course she knew he was there, even if she didn't glance at him. This is a zen time for her, she lets her mind open up and her thoughts flow freely. It's when she makes decisions, decisions that usually end up getting her in trouble. It was morning exercise when she decided to investigate Dr. Allen. It's morning exercise now as she contemplates the ambush on their convoy yesterday. "Seven miles," she answers with a calm voice. The incline set on her machine is a gentle uphill rise. She increases the speed a little bit more. She needs to beat the energy out of herself so she knows the decision she makes is a genuine one and not at all rash. She knows she can be too rash.

Daniel Hastings has posed:
"Not bad at all." Daniel observes with an appreciative tone as he steps up onto his treadmill and keys up a good jog. "Anything interesting happen yesterday after the briefing? I hear tell there was another event out in Metropolis." He gives his mouth a little spurt of water just to keep things lubricated then punches in his id number so he can track his progress. "I remember when I got back. Could barely run a mile. I'm up to twenty these days. Not quite my goal but somehow I'm not sure I'll ever have time to run another marathon."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Intensity best describes the way she looks, despite how calm she looks she is usually far more animate than this. Her irises twitch left to right as she reviews her mental notes again and again, picturing that lolita gothic LMD. Why those four nobodies, .. probably they got paid to do it and have no idea who the true orchestrator is. "Ahh nothing you're cleared to hear about and nothing I'm technically meant to be working on." There's that lingering unspoken 'but' to what she just said. She increases the speed again and her steady breathing increases in depth. "That's good to hear though, you should try and work to that marathon anyway. We all need goals outside of SHIELD."

Daniel Hastings has posed:
Daniel Hastings laughs. "You know. I said that to a friend of mine and she got worried I was going to quit SHIELD entirely." He doesn't seem to be in any great hurry to pick up his pace or show off. He's set a marathon pace and is likely going to try to make that twenty a tenty one. "You should make sure to keep earplugs handy if you're going to be arond Metropolis. Just an fyi. I'm sure you've read the report but R&D's been assigned to work on a resolution there. We've been putting up detectors as a sort of phase one."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
This cracks a small smile on her face and she slows down her treadmill so she can run at a more comfortable pace. She turns her head to look at him. That stoic expression gone, the decision is made. There never was a decision to begin with. Fury would be disappointed if she did anything else. "Yeah I know, I was the sucker they sent to run that set up. We walked west to east along Queensland Park, then up north. Only three LEOs stopped our agents to ask what we were doing and out of them only one was a problem, until I got his Captain on the phone to get him to move on. I'm just glad I was with so many great agents, many hands made for light work."

Daniel Hastings has posed:
"I'm sorry I missed it. My sleep schedule's been all over the place. My biorythmn is still on Kirit time which isn't a twenty four hour cycle so I find myself with borderline narcolepsy." Daniel opines wanly. "Still, most bobbies are just happy to help. They get paid to be nosey too so if you tell them to bugger off they aren't like to. I'd rather they ask questions anyway. Just in case the people out there flashed a fake badge, you know?"

Bobbi Morse has posed:
"We got to bust out the caps and blazers. You would have enjoyed the long walk setting up sensors everywhere. It felt good to be working in a team again, you know? yeah, of course you know." She checks her heart rate on her watch and rehydrates. "I wonder if R&D has any useful data from the sensors yet. I'll have to stop by sometime and poke my nose where it isn't needed. Besides, I love watching Jemma's brain tick. I'm a biochemist but she's on a whole other level." She whistles, "I'd have thought they'd prescribe you sleeping pills to help with the uh.. jet? lag? jet lag."

Daniel Hastings has posed:
"I don't think they've made a pill yet that can fix an eighty year time jump." Daniel replies with a laugh as he gives his mouth another squirt of water out of a mirror reflex to her own. His pace is steady. A comfortable rythmn. "R&D is my destination after breakfast. I'll probably be in there crunching numbers all day unless something active happens. Though I'd like to get out on one of those dispersement runs if another one is done. You've got my code right? Beep me." He grins.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi chuckles, "I've got everyones code. Even Fury, though I'd be daft to call it. The mind boggles at any reason why I'd actually need to disturb the director directly. Besides, Maria is fantastic and doesn't have judgey eyepatch syndrome." She lifts an eyebrow and throws him a playful grin. She slows her machine down to a jog and starts to wind herself down from the run. "Somehow the day is new and it's already full for me. If we're doing more sensor drops in Metropolis or New York hopefully someone else will get voluntold. It's not my shtick to be in charge of people. I'm terrible at it."

Daniel Hastings has posed:
Daniel Hastings arches a brow at Bobbi. "No? Then you're in the wrong line of work Agent." He chuckles as he jogs, taking his towel and wiping a bead of sweat as it forms before it has a chance to drip into his face. He exhales hard to clear his lungs of carbon dioxide but his stride never falters. "To be fair, my day will never be empty. I've got eighty years of culture to catch up on that everyone on the planet considers to be historical and formative. Lots of reading to do."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
She jogs down to a walk and then starts to wipe herself down with her towel. "Mm that's a lot of culture. I don't envy that. I wonder how Rogers did it, have you talked to him about it?" She turns off the machine and steps off. A bit more water and she throws her towel over her shoulder. "Okay I'm going to go hit my shower and jump in to work. Lots to do! the fun never ends in the skel."

Daniel Hastings has posed:
"We've talked a bit. I think he just does it in small chunks. Writes down notes when people recommend things." Daniel observes after some thought. "You take care. I'll see you out in the field I'm sure." He tips her a British style salute then sets his hands to the handrails briefly to get his balance back before its back into jogging land. No doubt he had his own day to mull out in his brain.
