Synopsis: A preliminary mission talk. Jemma wants a nap before it but then Daisy drops a bomb.
Cast of Characters: Daisy Johnson, Jemma Simmons

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's certainly been a busy time at SHIELD. What with Superman coming by, the mention of those shadowy beings attacking Metropolis and who knows where else. And lets not talk about the mission that is going on in a day. Certainly enough to get one's mind all crowded. As for Daisy though, there's just been this strange glow to her... Happiness? Suspicious! Not that she has spoken about what it is exactly. But then again she has also been off in missions, and enjoying a couple of days off.

Late afternoon though she sends a message to Simmons for her to join her up in her suite.

> Lets go through some preparations for the field mission tonight!

Oh joy. But Daisy wants to make sure everyone will be safe in the mission... Or maybe she wants to talk with Simmons about something and this is just an excuse. Regardless, she waits inside her den, cleaning up her ICER quietly.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
Busy might be an understatement. The particular problem that was presented by the Man of Steel has been a perplexing one, to say the least. It had Jemma in the lab for quite a while, studying maps and grainy cell phone imagery and all sorts of data being gathered, just for a clue as to how to proceed. So, when there is a message from Daisy suggesting to review preparations, there is a moment of elation...and absolute panic. One, because she gets out of the lab. And two, Jemma completely forgot that there was a mission tonight!

And so, with a quick message returning that she is on her way, Jemma left the lab to make her way to Daisy's fortress of solitude. She didn't even bother to tell Fitz she was going...he was too engrossed in the problems of the day. Surely he will notice....eventually.

Jemma's presence is betrayed by a soft knock upon the door, then it opening partly to allow for the brunette's head to poke in. "Hello Daisy. Is it okay for me to enter?" Because, even though she was invited, Jemma knows it is always polite to ask.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's truly a den what Daisy has going on down here, her computer station off on a corner, the three monitors on because that's just what a hacker worth their salt needs. One for hacks, one for youtubes and another to tweet and correct people over on the internet. Because that always goes well. Yet there isn't as much of the rest of the furniture as normally is inside her place, some of the pics gone, the memento she got from her father as well. Curious..

The door being partially opened brings a smile out of Daisy though, again that glow about her. "Come in, Jemma." she tells the other woman, setting the ICER on the table near her (safety on!) and gets up to her feet.

She is dressed in a partially casual manner, the pants being one of her normal black and blue uniforms but the top one of the sleeveless training shirts, the SHIELD logo visible there.

"How are your preparations for the mission going..?" Yes, by the quirky smile on her lips, the slight arch of her brow, she seems to suspect Simmons may have just forgotten what was to happen tonight.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
That sheepish smile as Jemma enters betrays the fact that yes, she has indeed forgotten the mission tonight. However, it doesn't stop her from answering. "Well, to be truthful, I didn't realize exactly what day it was." There is a light shrug that accompanies the comment. "But, it would not take me long at all for preparations. I do plan on bringing along the DWARFs, if Fitz can bear to be parted from them."

zOnce fully in the room, it is blindingly apparent that Jemma was most definitely in the lab...and not just briefly. A tablet is visible in the lab coat pocket as the red trainers are visible beneath, with the coat partially open to show the jean-and-sweater combo she usually wears. "You simply cannot believe the amount of data that has come in...and trying to sort through it all. I mean, really, you are doing me a favor pulling me away."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It brings a grin out of her friend when Daisy sees her suspicions come to fruition. Yep, definitely forgot. Not a surprise either, but that can be good. Means Jemma is probably not as nervous about it. "I say this all the time, but we really need to get you out of that lab more often. Look how much fun we had when we went to Little Italy ..." to that festival, where they met quite the curious people ...

"And I am sure Fitz will comply, he always does when you ask him something.." Is that an hint?! But Daisy is smiling, gesturing for Jemma to settle down wherever she wishes. Bed, spare chair. Wherever. She sits back down on the edge of her bed, reaching for her ICER.

"I have taken a look at some of the reports about it, also spoke with someone that has been studying it but .., not exactly in a science-y manner. Do you know who Zatanna Zattara is?" she asks, "A supposed mage out of Gotham that has had some contact with the thing." Can magick beat science though?!

Jemma Simmons has posed:
The spare chair is claimed with a murmured "Thanks." Jemma sits with a noticeable flump. "Oh, I know Fitz will let me take them. All I have to do is threaten to take him with me and he will do whatever I ask to avoid such a fate." Then...there is that smile. That knowing smile that proves Jemma is fully aware of what power she has over her lab partner and friend. "But yes, Daisy. You are right. I really do need to get out more. Even if it does result in fraternizing with known felons." There's a wink given? Yes, Jemma quite hasn't forgotten who she was dangling from.

The name of Zatanna is given....and a shrug is given. "The name is not familiar with me. But really, Daisy. Magic? I mean, that is all well and good in fiction, but magic is just science that hasn't been fully discovered yet." And...that betrays Jemma's thinking on which one is better. Science always wins out.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
A snort escapes Daisy's nostrils when Jemma speaks of Fitz, she then grinning. "Oh, I dunno. He can be adventurous enough when he wants to.." her tone quiet but yes, she understands well that knowing smile out of Jemma. She has known the duo for a while now afterall.

"I hear she has been trying to go legit. And hey, don't forget I was a felon too. Well, maybe not a known one but ... one nonetheless." because nothing like talking about one's shady past!

"And look, I know..., but I have seen ..., -things-." emphasis on it! "Maybe science can explain it, but seems like magic to me. Still, she is looking into the creature through her occult circles so we might have some more info soon too. She mentioned that this creature could only be here if someone summoned it though, which is a scary thought all in itself. Means there's more to this than just a random creature popping up. And it's been around in the past too."

But then she waves one hand dismissively. "But anyway, I was mostly wanting you here to talk about the mission. Are you feeling rested? Or any concerns you got?" it's not as if Daisy seems to think Jemma to be unprepared for field missions, though she can't help to worry and make sure all is good.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
"Yes...but the trick is getting him to want to." Jemma actually offers a laugh to that, then moves on to to different topics. "Well, I can tell you that I *certainly* wasn't expecting to come face to face with her." The 'her' in question nebulously defined, but clear to both Jemma and Daisy. "And...good for her! Everyone deserves a second chance." After all, Jemma was all for Daisy. People being good makes Jemma happy.

The idea of magic is still something that Jemma is not immediately behind. "Oh, I know that things may seem mystical, but really, it is just a matter of finding the proper scientific principles and applying them accordingly." She seems pretty solid on the whole Science trumps all thinking. "But, I will keep an open mind, for your sake if nothing else."

Then on to the mission. "Oh...I am not too concerned. You and I both know I am mostly there for support. If I use the DWARFs, I should be just fine." The scientist does stifle a yawn with the back of her hand. "Though...I should really think about a nap between now and then. With no windows in the lab, you are really not aware of how much time actually passes." Meaning...when she gets going, Jemma loses all track of time.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Missions never go just as we want them to go though." And yes, Daisy has enough experience with those field missions to know something just always goes haywire, no matter how well planned things are! "So you might just as well take a good nap before then." she says in ways of agreement after that stifled yawn.

But then a pause, a sigh, as if she was debating saying something or not... But then she goes ahead with it. Because if anyone should know it'd be one of her best friends. A smile later, some color creeping up the sides of her neck she says in a low tone. "Anyway.., I am thinking of moving in with someone.." by the way she talks, and how her smile just seems to glow it seems she has done more than thinking about it.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
An affirmative nod is given at the suggestion of a nap. A suggestion that quickly dissipates as Daisy drops the gossip bomb upon Jemma. "Moving in with someone!?" And then...that smile...and that glow. "Oh, you already did, didn't you?" Because trying to hide certain physical tells from a medical doctor just doesn't happen. "and who is the lucky indvidual, if I may ask?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
An affirmative nod. Because indeed yes she has ... Daisy's cheeks gain an entirely new color. "Yes, I have. It's ..., well, it's a new thing.." and considering her 'luck' with previous relationships one must wonder how long this one has to live. Though she continues. "It's someone I have been on and off these last three years..." which is curiously about the time she joined in with SHIELD.

"He is a lawyer, out in Hell's kitchen.." Then a grin. "And yes, yes. I know. Dating sharks and all that. You should come and meet him sometime, I'd like that." a wink then offered. "I have told him about my best friend here at SHIELD."

Jemma Simmons has posed:
There is a small grin of understanding as Jemma leans in the chair. "Ah...so this has been going on for a while, then " There is a pause, as Jemma listens to Daisy gives a brief description. "A lawyer, you say? That sounds intriguing. And he knows of your current occupation of Daisy Johnson, super spy?"

That smile twists into a sly grin, then dissolves into a chuckle. "Well, if you wish, I would be delighted to meet this lucky individual. " The comment about Daisy speaking of Jemma as her best friend does give her a slight blush of her cheeks.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Something there seems to amuse Daisy greatly. "I will have to let him know you called him a .., lucky individual." she then letting out a brief laugh. Expected though! But then a nod when Jemma asks. "I dunno about super spy, but he knows I work for SHIELD. Though regardless, I am hoping you will be able to keep it just between us, right? No telling anyone!"

She leans forward a bit, resting her elbows on her knees. "We have met for a while now, yes. Same school.., or well, orphanage. Not highschool sweethearts though." she laughs a little. "But yea, pretty happy now."

Jemma Simmons has posed:
"Well, that's good. Both with at least knowing your general occupation. I always find it easier to be as forthright as protocol will allow." Then, as an aside, Jemma adds, "Because I am a terrible liar." A tilt of the head and a slight smirk is given to signify that yes, Jemma is certainly telling the truth.

"Same orphanage." The fact is echoed softly, as Jemma contemplates. "so, you grew up together. That's intriguing." 'Intriguing' in Jemma-speak means she is already working on putting details together, without actually coming out to ask for more info. Because, yes, Jemma is too polite to ask.
