Cast of Characters: Sam Wilson, Morrigan MacIntyre

Sam Wilson has posed:
While Sam seems to be perfectly fine, SHIELD is erring heavily on the side of caution, keeping him in the recovery ward overnight while they try to figure out exactly what happened, and how he ended up with what seems to be a brand new power. Sitting on his bed that's been elevated into the sitting position. A tray of food is set in front of him, and he's poking at it. But he keeps glancing over at the falcon sitting on the window sill and he shakes his head in disbelief. "You really want this fish, don't you?"

Then he pauses. "This is strange for me too." he admits to Redwing with a sigh as he cuts a piece of the fish off and offers it to the falcon that eagerly snacks on it.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan was expecting a mess when she got lead to the recovery room. The redhead steels herself against what might be happening, her violet gaze trying to stay focused. It was late and there was weariness on her features. There's a soft knock and then she's turning the knob on the door, poking her head in slowly, "Sam?" she asks as she hears someone talking.

Holy crap he's feeding the bird and talking to it! She closes the door carefully and stands by it for the moment, "I don't want to spook him." she admits.

Sam Wilson has posed:
Glancing up from where he was, Sam gives Morrigan a swift smile. "He's not seen you before, but he's smelled you." the Avenger points out. He's got a few bandages from his crash landing. "So, I should rectify that. Morrigan, this is my falcon, Redwing. I found him as an orphaned hatchling during a deployment, and he's been with me since. Redwing, this is Morrigan." he offers in return. "She... is quickly meaning a lot to me." he admits quietly.

"There. No need to be spooked." he points out with a grin. "Especially by you." There's a teasing wink to Morrigan as he gestures to the seat next to him. "Want to join me?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan tries not to get all choked up for a minute, but, she has to reach up to run a hand over her face. He was alright. Everything was fine. This was fine. "It's nice to meet you, Redwing, I promise I don't mean your dad any harm." she tells him.

Then here heels are clicking across the floor as she makes her way swiftly over to him. She makes sure she's not going to knock anything over as she wraps her arms around his shoulders and hugs him, "What happened?" she asks him.

Sam Wilson has posed:
There's still an IV line and a few leads, but when Morrigan closes in to hug him, Sam's arms immediately go around her waist, trying to hug her back as best as he can. He's okay. This time. And he saw her reaction and that brings a look of concern as he pulls back, his hand settling in hers as he draws in his breath. "The Penguin had some type of machine that was controlling birds. I was making a pass to try to take it out, and another hero fired at it at the same time. I got caught in the overload of it and it knocked me out." he explains quietly.

"Mo... you know I'm a SHIELD agent. And an Avenger. I'm going to get hurt. Even as much as I'd rather not, there's going to be times..." he swallows hard. Last night, it was her confession. Apparently it's his turn tonight. "...there's going to be times this happens." he admits quietly. "And if that's going to be an issue... because I really want this between us, Mo."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a bit of a look to him as he pulls back, her hands gently tracing down his arms and careful to avoid the IV's and things. She was a doctor after all. She listens to him though, her face less worried now that she has touched him. "So it was friendly fire?" she asks him.

Then she chuckles, "Sam, I am aware of you being a SHIELD agent and an Avenger. I can still be worried. If I wasn't...then I'd be very inhuman." she tells him softly. "I know you're going to get hurt. I just...didn't really have time to build up for it." she chuckles. "That sounds stupid I know." she adds. "I'm glad you'll be alright." she whispers to him.

Sam Wilson has posed:
"I'm better now that you're here." he points out to her. Hopefully that helps things. Sam draws in his breath as he considers her and then explains. "...it seems that... as weird as this sounds, Mo, but I can talk to birds." he says quietly. "I mean not like whistle or bird call, but they understand what I think, and I understand what they think. And like, right now, I can see you with my eyes, but I can also see you through Redwing's eyes."

There's a sigh at that, and a shake of his head. "I was just complaining the other day that compared to the other Avengers, I'm not really anything special. And now..." he trails off with a chuff of amusement.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a soft laugh, "Mhm, it's all that good medical care you've been getting really." she teases him. Then she listens curiously and there's a look between him and Redwing, "It's very curious." she admits. "Some psychic powers or mutations are sometimes triggered by trauma sustained or events. It might have awoken something that was just waiting." she smiles to that.

"I think it's cool. And that'll learn you. Shouldn't be complaining." she teases him gently. "Do you feel alright other than the new bird development?" she asks.

Sam Wilson has posed:
"I did tell you I had a huge roost back when I was in school." Sam says with a light chuckle as he keeps his attention on Morrigan, his smile for her warm and affectionate. "We're not gonna talk about what happened at school today. I'm sure you'll tell me soon enough. What I would like to know, is more about you." he admits quietly.

"What do you like to read? What's your favorite meal? Color? There's so much I want to know and learn."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"You did. I've been wondering about getting some birds at home, I think this is seredipitous really." Morrigan grins at that. "Or a dog. Maybe some big drooly bulldog or something. Occam needs friends." she muses "And thank the gods. School was...odd." she admits. "But, not until Monday." she smiles to him.

She pulls over a chair so that she can look at him while they talk, "Remind me to toss out all of my romance novels before you find all of them and find out how much of a nerd I am." she winks at him. "If it's a book I'll read it. I like fantasy and things of that nature." she tells him. "I like rare steak and seafood. Pasta is really nice. Butter, anything with butter on it." she laughs. "My favorite is black." she tells him. "And I like purple and red as well." she grins.

Sam Wilson has posed:
"So, I need to find you a bodice to rip off." Sam teases her playfully, only releasing her hand so that she can get the chair. He watches her, listening as she explains the things that she enjoys to him and he smiles. "I admit, beside falconry, I'm a bit of an orinthologist. Well, amateur at that." he admits with amusement, glancing down as he digests the information.

"Well, I'm not gonna change my costume colors to black and purple. But I have red." that's point out in warmth.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan fans herself a bit comically, "Stop it, we're in the infirmary." she whispers at him. "I like sharks. If I could have been a marine biologist I would have. But...sun." she muses. "Nothing wrong with being an orinthologist. We get a lot of birds around the house." she smiles to that.

"Your suit doesn't have to be in colors I like. You're in it so it's golden." she winks at him.

Sam Wilson has posed:
"I know Aquaman." Sam is teasing her now. "And I heard he has a thing for redheads." Though his hand in moving to capture her's again, settling their fingers together. "It sounds silly, and we'd have to do it late at night so it doesn't end up on Youtube.. but I'd like to take you for a flight sometime." he admits to her.

"I like a good steak. Rare. Which, considering all things, maybe explains why I found you anyway." he says playfully.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Oh really?" Morrigan asks with a bit of feigned curiousness. "Can he talk to great white sharks?" she is actually curious about that. More than his liking of redheads. "Oh, a flight? With the suit?" she asks him. "That would be neat, just don't drop me." she muses.

She'd be fine. But he didn't know that.

"Mhm. If you ever ask how we met or what drew us together you can tell them barely cooked steak." she giggles.

Sam Wilson has posed:
He doesn't. He has a lot to learn about her. Hopefully she'll give Sam that chance. "Probably." he says with a shrug about Aquaman being able to talk to fish. "And I wouldn't drop you." he promises her.

He laughs. "I was just going to say we met at the school and I won you over with an apple." he points out to her teasingly.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I wonder what Great Whites actually think..." Morrigan murmurs to this. She was sleepy if this was an actual question. "And I know you wouldn't, but, freak accidents happen." she admits. Then she gives him a grin, "I like that. It is a sweet thing. It will be something that I'll always think of." she admits. "Are they going to run me out of here?" she asks him.

Sam Wilson has posed:
"What do great whites think? Dun dun, dunn dunn... they probably think that Jaws was either really great or really terrible." Sam says with an amused grin as he considers her and then sighs. "Mo? Sleep in your own bed tonight. You don't need to put yourself in an uncomfortable spot. I should be back at work on Monday morning and we have the whole weekend to spend time together." he points out to her.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"JAWS is a fantastic movie. It's stunningly horrible." Morrigan muses. "And the sequels are just..." she shakes her head. "They are good to turn the sound down on and just add your own script really." she admits. "Aww, here I was hoping to sleep in a hospital chair and sneak out to see what faces I could see before being tased by Triskelion security." she winks at him. "Taking all the fun out of my Friday night." she teases him.

Then she's standing, smoothing her skirt out as she does, "You'll call me if anything goes wrong?" she asks as she steps closer to him.

Sam Wilson has posed:
"Oh, my gosh. You're a MSTy?" Sam asks her curiously. "We can totally do that sometime." he offers up to her. "The movie thing, not the getting tased by the security thing. I'll make it up to you next Friday night." comes the promise as he watches her step closer. "I promise to call. But I should be released tomorrow." he admits as he draws in his breath. "Sleep sweet."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I might be." Morrigan grins to that. "Come on, you don't get through college without some weirdness." she teases him. "Aww, here I was hoping to get tased." she laughs. "No, please no tasing. I don't want to bite someone." she muses. Then she's leaning in and pressing a kiss to his lips, soft and warm, not urgent. Then she pulls back, "Sleep well when you do and text or call. I'll be up for a bit doing some lab tests." she tells him.

She didn't want to leave though, but she needed to.

Sam Wilson has posed:
Sam was about to respond when Morrigan takes the initative and kisses him. He closes his eyes, enjoying the warmth and closeness of her before he lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding when she pulling back and preparing to leave. He doesn't want her to leave, either. But she needs to.

"Text me if you get bored." he manages, glancing down before turning to watch her go.
