Date of Scene: 16 December 2022
Location: Location
Synopsis: Summary
Cast of Characters: Gabby Kinney, Jon Kent

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Dress warm and be hungry. Those were some rather vague instructions from Jon, but thankfully they were easy enough for Gabby to follow. Down below on the street is her little Honda Trail motorcycle all locked up to avoid being stolen. Not that many wanted to steal such a clunky, retro looking bike in the first place. As for her, she's already found her way to the rooftop suggested where she stands waiting occasionally glancing down to her phone in hand.

Her attire is as warm a she currently has available. Some ankle-height boots are worn rather than the taller ones today. Jeans, and a sweatshirt with a bright pink hoodie overtop. The hoodie itself has the logo for the singer Dazzler emblaizoned across the back. It's all topped off with a beanie hat that has a little pompom ontop.

Jon Kent has posed:
He isn't late. His dad taught him better then that. Almost exactly on time, the boy appears from the cloudline and drops to the rooftop in front of her at a gentle pace, landing easily. He's wearing jeans, Hi-Tops, and a red hoody over a blue shirt with the Superman symbol emblazoned on his chest. Without his glasses and standing at his full height he actually isn't recognizable. Gone is the awkward, stumbling boy who strained to lift presents. He offers a lopsided smile and steps towards her.

"Gabby! Hey, you came! Awesome. So, how do you feel about a Drive-In movie to start? Or, well....fly-in, I guess?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney had just glanced down at her phone for a second when Jon's greeting comes. Snapping her head up again she grins toward him taking in the newer 'look' with eyebrows raising a bit. The phone is tucked away into a pocket. "Hey Jon. Of course I came, I said I would," she points out with a laugh as she strides over toward him.

Her head tips back to glance up as he was just a little taller now which meant she was all the shorter. Sadly. The offered suggestion gets a wide grin, and nod. "Sure! It's been awhile since I've flown. Though," she has to admit, "Usually it's more like 'I get thrown' half the time." Her hands spread in a little shrug. "You'll have to carry me though. I can't fly without help."

Jon Kent has posed:
"Don't worry. I've got you. We have about.l..I'd say a fifteen minute flight to California for the movie. After that is another thirty minutes to where we're eating dinner. I'll get you back before too late, though." He grins down at her, and if she doesn't stop her he leans in to scoop her into her arms. He holds her like she weighs absolutely nothing. He lifts up a few inches to get her a bit used to the sensation of his flight.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney instinctively reaches up to wrap her arms around Jon's neck when she's swept up like that leaving her looking momentarily surprised. The upward momentum of flight for a moment tears her gaze down to the rooftop. "Ah, well this is better than piggy back I guess." She remarks looking back to Jon with a sheepish, slightly embarassed grin. Apparently being picked up like this *was* a small surprise for her.

More seriously though she tips her head to the side. "Sounds good. Just to check though, you don't make a sonic boom when you fly, do you? If so I'll be deaf a few moments until it heals," she explains risking lowering one hand to gesture at her ear before looping around his neck again. "Just to warn."

Jon Kent has posed:
He furrows his brow a bit to consider that. "No. I mean, I can...but I also cannot if I wanna, I guess. I've flown with people at peak without it." He floats them higher, and higher. Soon the city is laid out beneath them like a beautiful, glittering model, and the air is colder. Thus the warm clothes.

"I never get tired of these views."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"One of the guys I know goes by Cannonball. Pretty sure he literally can't fly without breaking the sound barrier. Big boom," Gabby explains with a little grin. At least she had a good reason for bringing that topic up apparently. Though she hadn't really ever told Jon her power set yet. That would likely come up soon enough.

Gazing down over the city her expression softens taking it in. "Yeah. It always looks so different from up high."

Jon Kent has posed:
They begin to fly west, but at a leisurely pace at first. He'll wait to zoom over more open terrain. He cuddles her against his body as they fly along, and the fact he's wearing a backpack becomes more obvious from here. "Sooooo, how was your day?," Superboy asks with a small smile, glancing down into her eyes as he flies them over the city, which soon enough fades to woodlands and snow-peaked mountains.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney considers a few quiet moments. How was her day? A little shift has her tuck her head in closer to his shoulder so that she can just rest it there. "It was good for the most part. I got some presents wrapped, did some training. Checked in on the JLD for a bit. No big fights or anyone to go after right now so it's... Quiet. I kind of needed a break after the last several months."

"What about you?"

Jon Kent has posed:
"Spent a few hours in Kansas with my grandma. Helped her decorate the tree and all that. She was very amused to hear I had a date tonight. Made me promise to be a gentleman."

He grins softly, and the open land turns into a blur so far down below. The actual flight seems oddly quiet, the wind wooshing by silently as he soars with her.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney ahs quietly as she listens to his own day. "That sounds nice. She sounds nice," she adds a little awkwardly as she pauses to try and recall if she'd ever met anyone's grandparents before. The fact Jon's were around was a bit different than many she knew. Her gaze returns to the passing blur of land slipping slightly out of focus. It was oddly relaxing.

Jon Kent has posed:
The rest of the flight involves little conversation here and there, and a beautiful view. Soon enough, however, he comes down from the sky to reveal a small town in the middle of the night with the desert stretching out on all sides. Eventually they land on the rooftop of the snack bar for an old Drive-In theater that is still in operation, anhd he pulls a blanket from his backpack for them to lounge under, while the sound is played off his phone. It's a seasonal showing of the movie Elf! He hasn't seen it, and she said she likes comedies!

The movie involves some light cuddling, a lot of him laughing at the movie movie. Finally, another flight across the great blue ocean leads then to northern China, to an insanely beautiful town called Yangshuo Town. There, am9id the incredible scenery, he brings her to a little local noodle shop, and the two settle into a table in the corner, as hot bowls of steaming, incredible noodles and some side dishes and rice are set out.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Perhaps surprisingly it was a first for Gabby to see Elf, too. The movie goes without a hitch, and the flight off to dinner might have made her a little sleepy along the way. She manages though, and by the time they arrive she's wide awake again gazing with an excited admiration at the landscape.

Also at the restaraunt they go into to get the freshest of fresh noodles. "Oh my god this is amazing Jon. There's this dumpling place in Gotham that I heard of but I don't think it's anything like this!" Plucking up her chopsticks she uses them like a pro at least. A lot of her family were into Asian food so chopsticks were a must. She leans over to take a quick slurp of the noodles not really realizing she might look a mess doing so.

Jon Kent has posed:
He doesn't seem to mind her being a mess. He grins, in fact, admiring her before he works on his own. He's slightly more awkward with the chopsticks, but manages. He doesn't speak the local dialect, but it isn't hard to order when it comes down to it. "I'm glad you like it! I love this place. I try to come once a month, when I can manage it." They did seem to know him.

He sips his tea and glances across the table at her. "That movie was insane."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney reaches out to snag a napkin to dab over her mouth before attempting to speak. She had some manners even if they were forgotten at times. "Mmhmm, I see why." Lightly glancing over to the counter where the presumed owner and clerks were working she remarks, "I can understand a few words here or there, but I'm not fluent by any means. I probably know more Japanese."

A grin comes over her atthe mention of the movie. "Yeah it was. It was funny, just a bit off the wall. I mean, I've seen some off the wall things to begin with. No elves though yet. I did get to meet a Big Foot."
