Date of Scene: 24 December 2022
Location: Camilleri Condo
Synopsis: Priscilla and Henry are welcomed warmly to her childhood home by her parents.
Cast of Characters: Priscilla Camilleri, Henry McCoy

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
The trip to Valleta was a rather boring one. Priscilla had booked a private jet for the occasion as she didn't want to deal with the lines at the airport. Most other times she didn't mind, but this time she was traveling with Henry and she knew that sometimes things didn't agree with him. She'd been dressed down for the trip. Jeans, t-shirt and boots. It was decidedly warmer in Malta than it was in the states. Thankfully!

They had landed in Valleta on Christmas Eve and there was a car sent to pick them up. There wasn't anything out of place really. She'd made sure that things would go smoothly. She'd told Henry not to be nervous and that her parents would love him. But she was sure that was easier said than done really.

After a trip through the city and closer to the countryside they pull up into a driveway in front of a house that's basically fit for royalty. There are a few people waiting outside of the doors that lead up into the house. A rather petite looking raven haired woman and a man with long dark brown hair that is slicked back into a ponytail. As the car stops one of the butlers moves to the door to let them out and there is a smile, "Welcome home my Lady and Doctor McCoy. We're thrilled to have you as guests." the man states.

Henry McCoy has posed:
He'd packed with the warmer climate in mind, as well as potential formal or dress events. No idea what to expect, after all! Henry was wearing a nice polo and roomy shorts, with sandals for the travel. The cold of New York wasn't a problem, so he'd be ready when they touched down in Malta. Flying didn't seem to trouble him, so much - especially on a private jet. There was plenty of room for him to stretch out, after all!

As a car met them at the airport, Henry glanced over to Priscilla. "This is fancy..." He chuckles, letting her climb in first before joining her. "Is this how you normally travel?"

There's a low whisper as they approach the grounds. "My stars and garters..." He comments, looking out the window at the estate. As the door is opened, he steps out and turns to offer a hand to Prisilla. "I think I under-packed..." He mentions with a chuckle.

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Priscilla gives a look to Henry and there is a soft smile, "I like having a bit of privacy when I travel." she tells him with a nod. "If you'd like to do a regular flight next time we can?" she offers to him. "It's a bit fancier than a normal flight, but, there are benefits to it." she explains.

Then there's a grin to him as they are driven up, but she allows him out first and then takes the offered hand to get out of the car, "We can always take you shopping." she tells him with a smile. The older pair at the top of the stairs move down with smiles on their faces, "Priscilla, you made it." her mother coos to her as she reaches them and hugs her daughter warmly. Then she steps back from Priscilla and then looks to Henry and then delivers a motherly hug to the man as well, "And you must be Doctor McCoy. My husband and I have followed your work for the last few years. I'm sure he'll have lots to talk to you with that." she smiles.

Then her father steps up and offers a hand to Henry, "I'm Doctor Marcellino Camilleri, but you can feel free to call me Marcellino if you like. This is my wife, Tamyra." he offers. "Welcome to our home and we hope that you see it as yours as well while you are here." the tall man states.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The big blue man chuckles. "No, I am fine with flying private. Some of those airline seats aren't really made to accomodate someone of my size or mass." A wry grin. "I'm used to private flights from work - the Avengers generally don't fly commercial." He admits, with a sheepish chuckle.

"Shopping might be a good idea." He whispers, not wanting to make a bad impression on his first meeting with her parents. As the older couple approach, he stands up a bit straighter, correcting his posture to greet them both. The hug was not expected, but he returns it with warmth and gentleness odd to see in his bestial nature. "Pleasure to meet you, Tamyra." He greets.

To the elder doctor, he nods and shakes the hand. "Pleased to meet you as well, Marcellino. Please, Henry as well - I don't feel the need to stand on titles in this pleasant visit?" A look to both. "Your daughter has only had good things to tell me of you."

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Priscilla was watching the greetings going on and there is a smile as she stands aside. She was wanting to let Henry meet her parents and this was definitely something that she was hoping would go well. "We'll take the jet then from now on." she tells him.

Tamyra moves over to stand with Priscilla, "We have your rooms set up and all situated. I hope that things are agreeable with Henry." she grins to that. Pris gives a look to her mother and she chuckles, "Separate rooms? At least they are adjoined." she muses to that.

"Henry, a pleasure. Priscilla has been telling us wonderful things as well about yourself." he chuckles. "If the separate rooms are too much of a problem we can put you together. We have another guest that got the bigger room, so figured that the suites would at least be big enough since they are joined by the door." he looks apologetic. "Henry do you have any allergies or anything food wise? I forgot to ask Priscilla about that before your arrival." he comments as he motions for everyone to move towards the doors. "Lets go in and take a rest. I'm sure the flight was long." he adds.

Henry McCoy has posed:
If they could read body language, they'd certainly feel the sheepish embarassment from Henry at Priscilla's comment about the bedrooms. "Whatever lodging works best for the home, really." He clarifies. "I don't want to cause any fuss." A slight grin. A nod then to Pris. "And yes, private flights if possible. I can help arrange some." Not that she needs the help, but it's clear he wants to contribute!

Looking to her father, he shakes his head. "No, no allergies or restrictions, though I do tend to eat a bit more than most folks due to my metabolism." He grins. "I'll be glad to help in the kitchen, if there's a need for such?" Again, he's trying to be a good guest - not wanting to be a burden. As such, he turns to collect up the bags - to notice they've been already gathered and are heading inside. "Er, yes. Inside then." A shy smile. "After you, of course."

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Tamyra is very good at reading body language and she gives a chuckle as she reaches out to give Henry's arm a gentle pat, "You are both adults." she tells them. "I appreciate the understanding though. Our other guest was a bit of a last minute thing. So that was our best decision." she states. She then takes Priscilla by the arm to to walk with her ahead of the two gentlemen, "He's very handsome." she whispers to her daughter as they are walking into the house.

Marcellino gives a look to Henry after the girls have moved off, "I will have the chef make extra for us then. If I remember correctly the last few holidays that Priscilla has been home she's raided the kitchen for food early in the morning." he chuckles to that. "Plenty of food to be made and shared." he nods. "We won't be putting you to work in the kitchens or anything." he points out. "This is a place for relaxing and for celebrating the holiday. We've been quite excited to meet Priscilla's other half." he admits.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry offers a nod of thanks to Tamyra, then grins at Priscilla - almost apologetically. He's sure she'll still manage to sneak in, of course. She has that aire about her.

Walking with Marcellino, he chuckles. "Of course, I just want to offer - I don't want to be a burden or trouble to your family." He comments. "I'm more than fortunate to have found my way in meeting Priscilla, she is quite a breath of life into my days. Someone to talk shop with, to enjoy beautiful sights with, and to generally drink deeper from life with. I am very fond of her."

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Priscilla gives a look over her shoulder to Henry and she winks at him. She was definitely going to be using the door! She seems very at home with the place. There is the far off sound of a pair of dogs barking, but that's before they turn the corner in the hallway and Pris gives a little squeal of delight, "Hello loves!" she calls before she drops to her knees and is quickly pounced upon by two very large Cane Corso's. There little nubby tails are going at full speed. So excited. "I brought you treats." she grins at them.

Marcellino gives a look to Henry and there is a genuine smile from the older man, "She can be very stubborn, but she is a lot like me in that regard. She works too much and doesn't focus on finding someone she can share life with." he admits. "I hear that she is also rather fond of you, so I hope that we'll see this as a long and happy union, Henry." he tells him. "The dogs aren't a bother are they? If they are I can have them blocked off for the time being." he assures him.

Henry McCoy has posed:
His eyes go a bit wider at the size of the dogs, though he does not seem frightened. He returns the wink to Priscilla, watching as she is overwhelmed by the happy dogs. "I had not expected her to be a dog person." He laughs, looking to Marcellino.

"I ... understand that view all too well. I get rather bogged down with my work, finding little time to relax. Hopefully we can encourage each other to look beyond the research, theories and papers." A chuckle. "The dogs should be fine, so long as they are fine with me. I am hoping my appearance won't put them off."

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Marcellino gives a look to Henry, "She's a lover of animals, I'm surprised she's not bought a huge piece of land somewhere and started some sort of sanctuary or something." he muses. "She brought all kinds of things home as a child." he adds. "She likes cats and dogs fairly well. Horses, she's always been an avid rider." he states. "Come, we'll get you both settled in and then we can take you on a tour of the grounds if that is wanted? I know you both are probably tired from the flight so I could also just let you rest this evening and explore tomorrow if that is wanted?" he asks.

The dogs scent another person, but they are loving on Priscilla, "Can I introduce you to Henry? Best manners." she whispers to them as she gets up. They seem to follow her orders easily. "Henry these are the family dogs, Godfrey is the bigger of the two and this guy is Archard." she introduces them. The dogs are silent and look at Henry, Godfrey's tail wags though in a happy way. So it wasn't a threat.

Henry McCoy has posed:
All these notes to take mentally - Henry nods to the older doctor. "Good to know! I think her current residence doesn't allow for pets, though I am uncertain." He scratches at his chin. Nodding to Marcellino, he smiles. "I think rest would be fantastic - an early dinner potentially." He decides.

As the pups trot over with Priscilla, the Beast kneels to be down at their level. Not smiling to show teeth, but smiling all the same, he extends hands to each of them. "Beautiful dogs - nice to meet you, Godfrey and Archard."

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
"It sadly does not. But she's safe where she is. We checked out the condo a lot before she moved in." Marcellino explains to him. "We'll let you two retire then and have an early dinner." he smiles to that. "We've thought about contacting the company to see what we could do about being lenient on that, but, we've got time." he admits.

The pups sniff and snuffle at Henry, getting in the new scent. Godfrey chuffs when Henry speaks and then the tail wagging is a go again. "You want one of them to nap with you?" Priscilla gives a smile to that. "They're very well trained boys." she adds to that.

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a smile and a scritch between each of the dog's ears, if they will allow. "I am certain she's safe there." He assures her father. "It's a good building, and I try to keep my eye on the place." A wry grin. "I tend to deter most problem behavior, thankfully."

Slowly getting to his feet, he laughs. "If they wish to, of course I would not mind. Though I have a feeling they've missed you, Priscilla." He winks. "Dinner then rest, so we can start anew on the new day schedule?" All these timezones!

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
The dogs are more than happy to accept scritches from Henry. Even if it seems that it might be odd for the feline man to be patting them. "I appreciate that you look after her. I always worry that we're going to have another incident like we did a few years ago, but it's good to know she's well safeguarded." he states to Henry.

Tamyra gives a look to Priscilla, "Let's go to the dining room and we'll have them bring in dinner and things." her mother states. "This way, Henry." she adds with a smile to the man.

Priscilla reaches out to take hold of Henry's arm, "This way." she whispers to him.

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a friendly smile to Marcellino. "It is my honor to look after her well-being. I'd be a rather poor boyfriend if I shirked in that duty." He gives a slight bow of his head. "I hope to keep her safe and sound." Henry assures the other man.

With Priscilla on his arm, he nods - grinning like a Cheshire cat. "That sounds splendid - I'm famished." He's got an appetite! He does give Priscilla a look - trying to gauge how things are going. Did he mess up?

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Priscilla gives his arm a soft squeeze and there is a smile to him, "You're doing wonderfully." she whispers to him. So far everyone is all smiles and there doesn't seem to be any ruffled feathers. She leads them to the dining room and opens the door to enter.

Marcellino gives a chuckle, "I assure you that when my daughter has a blade in hand that she is nothing to be trifled with, but, I'm sure you know of that." he chuckles. "Come on in and have a seat. We'll be eating shortly." he tells them.

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a wave of relief over Henry when she whispers that everything is going well. He walks alongside her, his free hand out for the dogs to snuffle at should they choose to. It was clearly important to him that he made a good impression with her parents - family was crucial, and running afoul of them would not do.

His eyebrow arches. "No, I was not aware." He grins. "I don't think we'd come to the dueling portion of our relationship." He grins, chuckling a bit. "Fencing, or something different?" He asks of Priscilla. At the mention of food arriving shortly, his stomach gives a bit of a growl. "Pardon me." A sheepish apology, even as he slides a chair out for Priscilla.

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Priscilla heads for the chair that Henry pulls out for her, "Thank you." she tells him softly. Then she pats the chair beside her. When her father talks on her sword fighting there is a snort, "Dad..." she chuckles. Then she looks to Henry, "Fencing and sword fighting. I do pretty well on both." she admits. "If you'd like to get to the dueling though we can do it." she winks at him.

There is a chuckle at Henry's apologies to them, "Do not worry on it. Dinner is on the way." she chuckles to that. And soon enough, food is being delivered to the table.

Henry McCoy has posed:
A wide grin. "I have a friend who is the consummate swashbuckler." Henry offers over. "I don't tend to do so well with a sword, now with my changes to my hand." The man smiles. "Not that I was ever that dashing with a blade. But I'd be willing to learn!" A nod, the man taking his seat after her mother and father.

A napkin is placed on his lap, settling in next to Priscilla. He watches as the various foods are delivered. "This looks and smells wonderful."

Priscilla Camilleri has posed:
Priscilla gives a soft chuckle, "I'd like to meet this friend of yours." she admits. "Maybe it'll help me keep myself on my toes." she nods to that. "Maybe we just need to find you the right blade? Or have one specialty made?" she offers. She gets herself settled and there is a soft smile as food is brought out, "If there is anything that you don't like we can look into something else, Henry." she points out.

The fare is fresh sea food, breads, fresh salads and wine to drink. It's actually a very nice dinner after the long trip.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry blushes a bit. "I fear he might charm you." He teases. "He's quite the gentleman." Teleporting, swashbuckling blue elf that he is! "I'd be open to finding a proper blade built for me. I would imagine I'm more lined up for a heavier style blade, honestly." He comments, looking to his hands. "Either way, I'd be delighted to learn."

As food arrives, he waits patiently for the elders and Priscilla to take their share, before sampling a little bit from each offering on his plate.
