Cast of Characters: Reed Richards, Franklin Richards

Reed Richards has posed:
Christmas in Manhattan meant cold weather gear. We've all seen Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and who knows how many other films that took place in the city so nice, they named it twice. Reed Richards elected to wear a dark grey wool coat, black leather gloves, navy blue wool v-neck sweater, light blue dress shirt underneath, with the top two buttons undone, a black leather belt, navy blue trousers, and black leather shoes. Which was typical winter garb for a gentleman of means in New York, if a bit old fashioned.

Although not a native, he had lived in the city for decades, and had acclimatized to its environment, including the street vendors. He was currently standing in the queue, waiting to order a New York hot dog, and perhaps a hot beverage to go with it, but he was pretty sure from his angle that none were on offer. Bottles of water and soft drinks were fair game. Perhaps as he got closer to the front, he might see something else. And yes, he could have stretched his neck to get a better view, but if he hasn't been spotted yet, why attract undue attention?

Franklin Richards has posed:
Standing outside dresses a bit light for the weather with just a fall coat on a young man smiles to himself not yet spoting the roaving Reed. He pets the dog that looks to have seen better times as he is ragged and wild looking. "Yes my friend it is a cold night. Stand by me for a bit and feel warm." as you can see the very snow falls around the pair not a petal landing on either.

Frankn is just out on one of his walks taking in the city and all it the people and thoughts inside of it. He sighs a bit looking disturbed by the thoughs as well as reasured by other thoughts that tonight.. is a good night maybe he will sleep tonight.

Reed Richards has posed:
The queue is moving along swiftly, with one person taking orders, and another making them. Soon, Reed would be at the front. He was among one of the more oblivious people the world had ever known. Incredibly intelligent, to be sure, but he missed the simple things, like emotional reactions, or what was going on in his vicinity. It wasn't that he was absent minded, so much as he was always multitasking, contemplating other things, and rarely paid close attention to anything. A lot was missed when he painted with such a broad stroke.

Like the fact that his son was standing only a few feet away from him, wearing garments that were inappropriate for this weather. As he was placing his order, he overheard Franklin's voice, and quickly added, "better make that two, and a side of beef, pork, chicken, anything you might have that would be suitable for a dog, please."

Franklin Richards has posed:
With a smile Franklin looks up in the air just listening.. Some might think it is a bit creepy him snooping in but he wasn't really listening to details. More feelings, and general thoughts to keep him warm in the cold night. As the dog lightly barks next to him he chuckles, "Yea your not too bad yourself.... Maximus." and then sighs to himself. There was a reason people didn't let dogs name themselves, they were horrible at it... Or maybe he just didn't understand the pattern.

It is wierd though as he stands there people don't address him, or walk near him giving him an open area around him. They don't seem to notice him even just instincly walk around like that area isn't worth walking though. He might pay for it a bit later, but now he was just enjoying the fine mood of the city... breathing it in and being a part of it. Though he couldn't miss the sound of his own fathers voice as he looks down and opens an eye. "Strange to see you out and about.. But I am glad. Fresh air is good for you." and smiles a bit. "I can let them see me again if you wish... I don't mean to hurt anyone I just... wanted a moment alone and it is a crowded city." and shrugs a bit embaressed a bit to be caught using his powers.

Reed Richards has posed:
Or perhaps Reed Richards had neglected to show his son Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, where Caesar picked his own name out of a book, and shortly thereafter, began a revolution to bring down human society. Of course, there were a number of actions in between those two events. And who doesn't like Gladiator, or perhaps, the dog was named after the Inhuman... well, perhaps not.

"I'm under strict orders," Reed says to his son, "your mother insists that I leave the Baxter Building for at least 210 minutes per week. She figured that I could manage an average of thirty minutes per day, jogging and adventuring, excluded." Reed was not one to judge. He trusted his children. He knew that if he and the others had raised them right, then no judgments would be required. Besides, he was guilty of bending a number of ethical rules in his time. They had a surprising elasticity. And just then, the vendor said, "hey pal, your order's up."

Reed turned to collect the little steak that they had managed to find for the dog, not the finest meat, but something Maximus would truly enjoy. This was clearly a common request. He would take off one gloved hand, bend down and set the food on its little paper bowl down for the guy, giving him a rub behind the ears, before sanitizing his hand, and re-applying the glove. Next, he would take the hot dogs, and hand one to his son. "Not the most nutritional item, so don't tell your mother." He said the last bit with a smile.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Frankling smiles a bit looking up again for a moment more as he listens, and cuts the connection between the city leaving only the dog connected incase Maximus had anymore to add. He doesn't appoach just waits as the food is brough over the dog actually well controlled doesn't leave his side though his eyes lock on the food as soon as it approaches with not even Franklin able to distract him.

"You best listen then, one does not cross mother lightly." and grins a bit to show he is at least half joking. "You should let her know her Pointillism piece is nearly done.. I plan to finish the Stippling tonight and I will let her have it."

The dog will eat the food without question or hesitaton as soon as it is offered. It was a rough life for a dog but it was his life, or what he had left of it. Franklin sighed a bit as he knew this was prob his last meal though these are the things that are best not to know.. Just the cost of using his powers. "I won't tell her out this little outing though if I know mom she would just be happy you are listening.. She is just like that." and grins a bit his image of her might be a bit more shiny then the real her, but he couldn't help his biased. "I am glad you are here though... I am afraid we need to talk." He looks at the dog as he is quiet for a moment.

"The dreams have started again... I have a feeling things are going to get active again/"

Reed Richards has posed:
Reed was of course joking about not telling his mother. He was a dad. He was entitled to make dad jokes. It may even be a requirement. He was still a little hazy on the legislation. That's what Jennifer Walters was for. Their shared bias when it came to Sue, and Johnny, Ben, Jen, Valeria, was simply because they were family. They saw the best in each other. It was only natural.

He didn't know just how bad Maximus' status was, but he could tell the dog had endured a great deal, far more than anyone, human or animal, deserved. It was nice to see him enjoy a good meal. Though at the mention of the dreams, Reed focused entirely on his son. He took no regard for anyone listening in. He simply said, "start at the beginning, and leave nothing out." He could only deal with what he knew, and right now, he was in fact finding mode.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin sighs a bit and frowns.. not in sadness this time but disapointment at how he had to explain. "I can't... or well it... well doesn't work like that.. Time is... well.. you know." he rubs his head a bit, "I turned up the limiters when they started.. There are things we are not ment to know." and he glances over at the person who knows everything trying to explain not learning something on purpose. He hoped he could makes sense, but it sounded like a hard sell.

With a sigh he continues.. "All I can say is its going to get active again.. I don't think there is a single big bad, but just an asortment.. Your help will be needed." then shakes his head the headache a bit too much to continue. "Maybe it was just a dream.. though I don't think so.. more like.." he falls off afraid to say any more about it.

Reed Richards has posed:
Reed Richards was well aware of the Dunning-Kruger effect. He knew where his shortcomings were, with really only one exception. He did not believe in magic. He perceived it to be science that he had not yet mastered. He could explain scientifically, virtually any magical event that he had sufficient data regarding, in time. He had yet to be disproven. It was either he had insufficient data, or he had figured out how it was done. So-called gods were just Asgardians, Olympians, or other species. But still. A lack of knowledge or understanding was difficult for him. With every fiber of his being, he sought to rectify it.

He was silent for a long pause, before saying, "I see. Perhaps we should adjourn to the Baxter Building. I'm sure that Sue would understand."

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin holds up a hand. "Go ahead, I want to stand out here a bit more. The fresh air.. You know, and that alone tips over one domino in the path. I kind of like it out here. Reminds me I am still human not living up in the tower." he glances back towards the building itself." he chuckles a bit. "Maybe I should write fortune cookies. would get me out house a bit more as well." and glances at his dad with a bit of a rebelious wink. He didn't want to leave of course. but he couldn't let him know that.

"Besides this is where I feel I can help the most.." he chuckles a bit.. "Well not right here.. of course, but down here not in a lab." He shrugs a bit.. "I think we can blame that on mother." giving a weak grin. "I.." he smiles a bit, "I don't know what is going to happen but it is going to get dangerous... I think.. and both of us will have to face it... without each other.." he adds trying to get around the topic more then discuss it.

Reed Richards has posed:
And now Franklin was speaking a language that Reed Richards did not speak. There was exceedingly little in this world or any other, that could not be solved in a laboratory. He had his senses, his observational skills, which could be considerable, when he focused it on something specific. He regarded his son, an adult now, coming into his own, and a certain sentiment began to wash over him: pride. It was pride.

He contemplated what he could do, but was getting the impression that this, for now, was something that Franklin wanted to deal with on his own, to await, experience, prepare, whatever it was, he wasn't yet ready to combat it head on, to lean on his family. He wanted to be his own man. And Reed coul respect that. "Very well. I will always be there for you, Franklin."

He had not thought one iota about the hotdog that was still in his hand, not since the conversation shifted. "Just don't..." and then he brought the hot dog to his mouth, biting, but not crushing it, just enough that he could take his coat off, and offer the sleeves to his son, "if you're going to stay out here, at least take my coat."

Franklin Richards has posed:
With a chuckles, he glances over at his father. "I know you are, and I don't mean always of course. You know me part of the team right? I don't think Ben would let me walk away even if I did want to." he says in a gruff voice. "Where you think your going... chuckle-head." and then grins. "Johhny tought me how to make it sound more like him." it didn't sound more like him, but the voice Jhonny used to irritate him when he acted like him..

"And keep your coat.. only one of our weakness is the cold.. I don't need mom asking me why your breaking apart." and chuckles a bit. though he follows up quickly with, "But I won't be long... just enough to say goodbye to a new friend." he glances down at the old dog then back up. "Lets not tell anyone else about him okay.. I am not sure they would understand." he glances at his dad with a nod, "And I don't want Jhonny to know I feel stuff too." finishing with a grin.
