Millie is certainly... in a whole new world.
Date of Scene: 03 January 2023
Location: Recreation Room
Synopsis: Laura is lurking around at Xavier's where she spooks the new girl with talk of magic, monsters, aliens and the horrible things which happen when mutants walk around alone. Welcome to Xavier's Millie!
Cast of Characters: Laura Kinney, Millie Nusia

Laura Kinney has posed:
It's a pretty rare sight to see Laura Kinney at Xavier's anymore. Aside from visiting Logan or her few friends who teach there isn't a lot of incentive for her to stop by now her sister Gabby has graduated. But every now and again she slinks around the Mansion generally confusing everyone.

After all her height and build make her seem like a student. While everything else about her clearly makes her seem like anything but one.

The ex-assassin is currently borrowing a chair in the recreation room. Draped over it in a vaguely feline manner. Unnaturally still as she loiters. Is she waiting for someone? Hiding from something? Who can say!

Millie Nusia has posed:
Millie Nusia is 'the new girl'. Blonde. Bombshell. She's pretty to the point she practically glows. The kind of pretty that someone knows they are. Makeup. Hair. Even her clothes. She's wearing a purple sweater thick and warm. Jeans under it that hug curves with an oversized belt and a buckle. She even has a purple ribbon in her hair tying it up in the back to make it a little less flyaway today.

She's been fed recently, something that is always monitored carefully of volunteers. So she is radiant. Still, that physical beauty gives away to a soft little pout as she's not quite sure about this whole 'school' thing. Or being around other people.

"Hi." She offers softly yet with a friendly tone to the unfamiliar cat-sloped person. "I'm Millie." She's carrying some of the course material in the form of books. Settling down onto the couch and tucking a leg inward to settle just under the round of her butt, the other is draped over the cushions as she puts the books beside her.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura Kinney is by contrast slender and sleek. Attractive but in a petite, pale skin and dark hair sort of way. Her clothing is bland to the point it's quite forgettable. Charcoal grey yoga pants and a matching hoodie. No logos or any branding that someone could remember.

She doesn't exactly rush to introduce herself. Giving the air a sniff before tilting her head. Letting her enhanced senses get a read on the girl before she opens her mouth. "Laura," she finally notes with a shrug. "New here?"

X-23 idly inspects her nails. Seemingly indifferent to Millie's apparent beauty. "Don't worry no-one will bite." She blinks a few times. "At least as long as you don't put your hand in their mouth anyway."

Millie Nusia has posed:
Millie Nusia smells like a bit of makeup - hair conditioner with citrus and various chemicals used in production. Like eyeliner and a very short spritz of perfume. She's rather scenty. There's a different scent from her mutation. Somewhere between teeming with life and being undead. It's a strange sort of scent that might confuse. Obfuscated by the fake, flowery scents of makeup and beauty smells.

There's a soft laugh "Well I will do my best to keep my hands out of unsuspecting mouthes". There's a soft smile on her lips and she gives a quick nod. "Mmmhmmn. Yes. It's been...a bewildering couple of weeks. But it seems..safe here. I'm not sure I'm comfortable yet. It seems like it could all be snatched away at a moment's notice."

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura Kinney raises an eyebrow. It's not the first time she's smelt weird magical things. Demons, undead, angels and monsters. Gotham gets a bit weird at times.

"Are you okay?" she wonders. "You smell like a funeral home." There's no malice in her question. Nor concern for that matter. "If that's just a power thing don't worry too much. Most of the people here won't notice."

A shrug. "As for being snatched away. You'll be fine unless aliens invade again. It's always worth having a bug out bag ready to go. No matter where you live. That way you can be out the door in moments when trouble starts."

Millie Nusia has posed:
Millie Nusia gasps and shifts tucking her knees up to her chest and hugging her arms around her legs. "That's a terrible thing to say! Do..do I really?" Of course she sniffs herself. But..she can't smell anything bad. Then again she doesn't have enhanced senses like that.

"I..I put on deoderant..perfume...is it the flowers you mean?"

"A..aliens?" Well she knew this place would be weird. But this is weirder than she thought. Her smile's turned to somewhere between a pout and a frown.

"That's not bad advice actually. I was locked in a basement for days by my parents as priests kept me chained up and tried to exorcise me. I'm not a demon. I'm a mutant. Not..that that's really any better. I'm not so sure they would have changed their plan if they understood."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"Is it? I'd rather people let me know if I had an odd aroma," Laura points out matter-of-factly. "Although my senses are sharp enough if I couldn't smell it then chances are no-one else could. I can tell what the last person to sit in each chair ate for their last meal." She eyes her nails some more. Then with a snikt a sleek metal claw pops from her hand. And she idly uses it to make some minor adjustments. Trimming her nails to a neater shape. "I think there's at least one alien who hangs around here. Some are good. Some are bad. Just like people anywhere really."

Her lips curl into a scowl. "Religion makes people... weird. Priests are always chaining people up. Or asking to be chained up." She blinks. "Still better than growing up in a lab I expect. People praying for you to recover is moderately better than being trained to kill people. Although less useful in terms of practical skill building."

"You'll find plenty of people with horrifying pasts here. It's not always considered polite to ask out of no-where. So word of advice, make sure someone is comfortable with questions before you ask them."

Millie Nusia has posed:
Millie Nusia frown drops a bit to just a neutral expression. "That must really suck when someone eats cheese or things like that."

When the claw comes out of Laura's hand Millie shrieks and points "There's a razer-thing in your hand!" She's wide-eyed and surprised when it not only doesn't seem to bother her, but she uses it as a nail trimmer.

"Mmmmn. You might...want to let people know your going to do that before you do it. If they dont know. Y'know?"

"I don't really know about labs. The only labs I've done are in the hospital for bloodwork. And in class like in science." She takes heed of Laura's warning "I do have to imagine that would really suck. I haven't done anything like that. So...I don't know if I can relate. But it sounds pretty crappy."

Laura Kinney has posed:
"If this is your benchmark for weird," Laura notes dryly, looking at her claw. "You're going to spend a lot of time getting startled here." She winks. "My family all have claws. Sort of family anyway. It's... complicated."

"As for specific foods it doesn't really make a huge difference. I mostly live in Gotham where the water is mostly industrial chemicals and sewage. And the air isn't much better either. My tolerance for unpleasant smells is, at this point, quite possibly second to none."

"There's a big difference between a hospital haematology lab and a corporate bio-weapons lab. Hopefully you'll never learn the difference. But to make sure you don't always follow the school rules about taking trips outside the Mansion. Try go in groups. Bring a teacher if you can. Sensible stuff like that. It might seem cool sneaking out. But when you're alone and vulnerable is when you're most at risk."

She practically flows out of the chair. Rolling to her feet with inhuman grace that'd look a lot more impressive if she wasn't so petite. "Anyway it was nice meeting you. But I need to track someone down for a classified discussion."

Millie Nusia has posed:
Millie Nusia nods very slowly. The realization really coming across her now. "Yes. I'm certainly...in a whole new world. I mean. I was just a pretty normal high school girl not long ago. So..it's all pretty new."

When Laura rises she lifts a hand to give a little wave. "Okay. Good luck with your secret communications. It was nice to meet you Laura, woman of mystery and intrigue."
