Cast of Characters: Billy Batson, Razili Darnell

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson exits the Palm Tree Apartmrents, looking over his listings and the rrents thereof. Being a Champion of Man and Defender of Magic doesn't pay at all well. Actually it doesn't pay at all. His podcasting was doing all right, but rents were still steep -even in Happy Harbor. "I wonder how Sunny is doing with her house hunting? I mean she lives with her folks so they aren't kicking her out. I am to e out of my dorm end of July." He pulls out a newspaper and starts looking for part time gigs.

Razili Darnell has posed:
Raz, contrarily, is taken care of. Her mother has made sure she's set up in that private school. Seeing Billy, Raz decides to be a little mischievous. She pulls the warm hat off that she's been wearing and unzips her coat, pulling it off of her shoulders. Hiding behind some things, she ducks down and looks out, waiting for her friend to walk by. She doesn't usually do this, but she's in a good mood and feeling confident at the new school, so when Billy's walking by, Razili barks, "BOO!"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson looks up! He doesn't really start or jump. It takes more than a boo for that when you get hit by lightning repeatedly. He peers around looking for who is booing him. Newspaper is folded and held a little defensively. "Hello?" The voice is way too smol and high pitched to carry a lot of menace. That voice. Hmmm. A suspicion begins to form. "Boo?" He tries to home in on the voice.

Razili Darnell has posed:
Raz stands, pulling her coat back up onto her shoulders and zipping it. Putting her hat back on with bemittened hands, she steps back out to stand next to Billy. "Hi," she says. "Sorry," she adds. "I thought I'd be playful." Her outfit is a bit of an unusual mixture. Razili's usual tearaway pants are scrunched up as she's just shoved her bare feet into fur-lined boots she can kick off if she needs to. Her zip-up hoodie has been replaced by a zip-up winter coat, still easy enough to shed, but there's also a winter hat and mittens. "I didn't scare you, did I," she says. It's not a question, even though it could be taken as one.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson peers and says, "With what I've experienced, it takes a little more than a boo to scare me. See, the Juggernaut is scary. You're a surprise. What brings you out today, Raz? I haven't... met you in a while." He struggles a moment with the wording. Then he decides she's very aware what he means and did not temporarily forget her status. "I'm looking for an apartment I can afford. One thing he'd say for the foster care system, it made you self reliant.

Razili Darnell has posed:
Raz nods. "Okay," she says. She has no idea how that is, and as much as she wants to help her friend, she doesn't have a spare room; she has a room mate. However, she can do something. "I could look with you, if you want," she says. "Sometimes, I see things other people don't." With their EYES...eyes that see COLOR, if there is such a thing.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson sticks the newspaper away. "Thanks. I have a couple of very promising apartments. The problem is finances. My podcasting is doing all right. But it isn't enough. I need a side hustle and one with very flexible hours. I'm thinking being a news carrier. I'll work it out. I'm going to take a break. Are you hungry?"

Razili Darnell has posed:
Razili shakes her head, as evidenced by her hat. "I don't have any money," she informs her friend, "or I would help you." She puts mittened hands on her slender belly through her baggy coat. "Though, I AM hungry," she realizes.

Billy Batson has posed:
Well that is enough to tell Billy, being he is pure of heart. He drapes an arm over Raz' shoulders, in a grandiose manner. "Oh well obviously I'm treating. I invited you," he says, indicating himself. Yes him. H let's his arm drop off after a second and a pat on an invisible back. "I mean friends can treat friends. Maybe we'll run into Sunny, if we hit Joe's. I'm sure she'd like to meet you. She's a server there. Uhm... no I don't have a picture of her... yet." He should deal with that. A picture is way easier than a lock of her hair.

Razili Darnell has posed:
"Who's Sunny?" Raz says. She squirms just a little with the physical touch, but not too much. "What's Joe's?" she continues.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson ahs. "Sorry. Joe's is the cafe my girlfriend works at. Her name is Sunny, despite her being female." Being female is an understatement for Sunny at times. "I like Joe's for several reasons." Something does tickle his curiosity. "Maybe I could get a roomie. But... I don't think I should have a roomie. Poor roomie -lightning all hours. Plus the whole secret identity thing."

Razili Darnell has posed:
Razili shrugs. "If you went to Xavier's, I still wouldn't be able to keep your secret as a roomie. We're opposite sexes. That's inappropriate," she concludes, more parroting adults than coming to the conclusion on her own.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson rolls his eyes. "I was thinking in general, Raz. And my point is I'd be a lousy roomie. I'm kind of a loaner anyway. Aside from living with my family a couple years I'm used to being alone." He says that last observation in a slightly heavier tone. He buries his hands in his pockets pondering. Freddy and Mary would bee great roomies. But they're off on their own. The other kids are too young, and Sunny would be inappropriate. So a side hustle to make ends meet is now plan 'A'.

Razili Darnell has posed:
"Break," Razili says, realizing pretty quick she can't help Billy. "Sunny's cafe?" she asks, a smile in her voice.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson nods. "Yeah. Thanks for listening. You helped me put things in perspective by letting me talk. A break would be good. A short one. I just realized I haven't done my daytime patrol. It never ends."
