The Results Aren't In...
Date of Scene: 08 January 2023
Location: Wellness Office
Synopsis: More puzzles arise, and more research to be done!
Cast of Characters: Henry McCoy, Razili Darnell

Henry McCoy has posed:
The whole swab test did not work! Not even moisture or any cells what so ever. Henry was perplexed - then again, all mutants are unique in their composition. It was another puzzle for the man to sort through. He'd send word to Razili, indicating that when she had time he'd like to talk to her again. No rush, no bad news to be fearful over.

Sitting in the Wellness room, he'd spent the time alternating between staring out the window at the snowfall, then back to Razili's files - or rather the lack of information in them. It's quite vexxing, not knowing. He can only imagine how she might feel!

Razili Darnell has posed:
Razili comes in fairly obviously. She's not wearing glasses or gloves, but her sleeve shows her waving at him. "Hello, Doctor McCoy," she vocalizes, as respectful as any teen has ever been of an adult in a position of authority over her. She has a seat where she did last time and kicks her bare feet as evidenced by the legs of her breakaway pants. Despite the coldness of the floor, there's no 'foggy footprint' situation around where she's stepped. No ghost footprints left behind from heat transfer. She is just patient, not asking why he wanted to see her. She figures he'll get to it when he wants to.

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a smile on Henry's face as he turns to face the door and the arriving Razili. "Good afternoon, Miss Darnell!" He greets, lacing fingers in front of him on the desk. "How have you been fitting in at Xavier's? How are things with you?" Pleaseant small talk - he's a friendly chap, after all!

"Have you had a chance to get out in the snow and join the others in sledding?" He wonders.

Razili Darnell has posed:
Nodding is a lost gesture without glasses or a hat on. "Yes, sir," she says. "I like the snow. I'm bad at making snowballs, sometimes, but snowball fights are a lot of fun." From the indentations under her legs, she shifts back and forth, her hands sliding palms-down under her thighs nearish to her knees.

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a chuckle. "I am certain you might even have an advantage, depending on the situation." Henry offers over, a sly wink. "Some of us were sledding yesterday - quite the fun time. Seeing everyone let loose a bit and enjoy themselves away from scholastic endeavors, is always a good thing."

Nodding once more, he leans back a bit. "Well, the news is that there is no news." A slight grin. "The swab, while collecting some of your saliva, didn't have any of your DNA... somehow." A good laugh at that. "You are quite the interesting young woman." A tap of his finger on the screen. "We may want to try a blood draw, if you are amenable. If not, I totally understand."

Razili Darnell has posed:
"Oh," Razili's voice says. She looks a little hesitant, but not afraid. "What do I have to do?" she asks, honestly. She's never had to do that, which is backed up by her medical files which have a whole lot of nothing in any blood information, including her blood type.

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a nod. "Well, I have a pinprick device to poke your finger. That way I don't have to try to find a vein for you, and cause you undue distress." A small tester is pulled out of a draw, very akin to one of the diabetes testers, but far more high-tech. Certainly not one you could get at a Walgreens!

"This one should do the trick - it can adjust to some of our more robust students, myself included." He grins. "It's just a poke on the finger, then we draw the bead of blood there and see if we can test it."

Razili Darnell has posed:
Razili nods and pushes up her sleeve, since that's what you do when you get blood taken. She reaches out and touches Henry's hand to guide it palm-up, then places the back of her hand into his, mostly just so he could find it. She was, after all, kinda hard to do precision work on if one couldn't find a finger at all. "I'm ready," she says, shoving her other hand nervously into her pocket. She'd never had blood taken before. It was both a little bit exciting, but also nerve-wracking.

Henry McCoy has posed:
It was an odd thing, doctoring by feel! Henry took his time, positioning the back of her hand on the desk, palm up. Her finger is gently squeezed a bit, to direct the blood flow there. Nothing painful - not a bit. The reader is positioned at what he believes to be the pad of her index finger.

"OK, quick breath, a poke, and we're all but done."

Razili Darnell has posed:
The needle quickly snaps as it attempts to jab at Razili's skin. "Ow," she says. Then she realizes it broke. "Oops," she says. "Um...sorry?" she tries. "Did I do it wrong?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
His brow arches, setting the tool down with a hrm. "Well, no." He chuckles. "You didn't do anything wrong." The man assures. "I suspect we'll need to look into some other form of testing." A shake of his head. "Quite the puzzle. You say you've never gotten hurt in a childhood accident? Fall at the playground, or some such?"

Razili Darnell has posed:
"I mean--" Razili hasn't really gotten badly hurt, but... "--I did that thing kids do where you swing and let go and see how far you can go. I landed once when I went really high, and it hurt." She pulls her sleeve back down. "I got hit by a car once. It was going pretty slow, but that hurt for, like, a week. I guess it bruised or something." The shoulders of her coat shrug. "I don't know. I've been really lucky. Nothing serious. No cuts or scrapes or whatever. Just...just some bruises I guess. I couldn't see them." She can sense herself with something that replaces sight, but whatever happened when she got hurt wasn't something she could see. Was that relevant? The tone of her voice says she doesn't know.

Henry McCoy has posed:
That does have him thinking. "So no broken skin, no bleeding - except for any internal brusing." Henry murmurs, tapping at his chin. "Thankfully for you, it wasn't more serious then." A smile to the invisible girl. "Did the poke cause you discomfort?" He wonders, looking to the machine. "Or was it just a pressure?"

Razili Darnell has posed:
"It did hurt a little," Susan says, rubbing her thumb over that index finger her doctor couldn't see. "It's a little bit of a dull sensation, now, but it's fading. I'm not hurt," she reassures him, not realizing he's probably digging for all the information that he can.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Another smile. "Well, that's a good thing at least." He smirks. "I might have to consult some others, or look into some other technologies." A shrug. "If, of course, you would be all right with that. If not, then I will do all I can within my reach to help you sort out whatever you'd like to know." A laugh.

Razili Darnell has posed:
Razili's shoulders shrug again, hands stuffing into her pockets. "What--" She starts, then hesitates. "What's cold supposed to feel like?" she asks.
