Synopsis: Balder is shown around Happy Harbor High School and meets some new people as well!
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Balder, Michael Hannigan, Richard Stadler
Tinyplot: The Count of Monte Cristo

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I think the only things that we didn't get to yet are the outside places. We have an equestrian ring and things, just been trying to find a person suitable to teach the students. I had one, but...that fell through." she frowns at that. "Anyways..." she shakes her head. "Vision is almost back. People won't have to see me mope all the way around the school." she muses to that.

"I'm not sure if we have anyone else in at the moment. I'd go up to the dorms, but don't want to encroach on the students private time or wake someone if they are sleeping." she offers to the large man that's with her. "Is there anything you're curious of, your Highness?" she asks him.

Balder has posed:
For an Asgardian, his clothes look remarkably Midgardian! A nice suit, dress shoes, wool coat for the cold. "Horses... wonderful animals." Balder comments. "Father is quite fond of his." A wry grin, knowing that Sleipnir is quite different from the horses here. "They have instructors for riding, then? Is it a less common thing these days, with the automobiles?" He's catching on, clearly.

"Congratulations on addressing the issue, and your mending of your vision. Can you see at all? Is it blurred or distorted?" He does turn to regard her eyes, to see if there is any change there.

"Balder is fine, Morrigan." He adds. "No need to stand on formality, while I am blending in." He teases. "No, do not disturb the students - they do not need to be made aware of the goings on." Likely referring to the odd dark elf issues!

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Even with the acknowledged presence of super powers amongst a sizable chunk of the student and staff population. Mike finds Happy Harbor High to be unusual for another reason. Presently he is situated in it, standing to one side of a doorway, looking through the upper opening to one of the stall residents of the school's stable.

Mike smiles as the horse approaches, offering up a carrot to the dark colored equine. As the horse takes the treat, he brings a hand up to brush the side of the horse's neck. Task completed, the musician moves to the side to collect a bucket, bringing it back over to the attendant's station. "Thanks for letting me in."

Richard Stadler has posed:
It wasn't the best form to get distracted while walking; paperwork generally could wait until one got to a desk... for most people that saw it as a burden and didn't understand the magic one could do with the right forms going to the right places. Plus there weren't enough hours in the day as it was. Which explained why Richard was walking quickly enough toward the two touring tutors with a metal clip board, quickly flipping through a few pages in sequence, a pen tucked behind his ear for the moment, and what looks to be the almost used up remains of an apple in his mouth to conserve hand space.

Thankfully, he wasn't completely devoid of situational awareness, so there's no comical collusion between folks as he approches... well. There's at least a semi-suprised shuffle of feet and a muffled apologetic sound before he manages to extracate the fruit from it's storage place between his teeth. "Doctor MacIntyre! Sorry, a little bit distracted." He notes, before looking over to Balder, a quick scan up and down, before his eyes track around and alight on a trash can nearby, tossing the now-apple core into it, and, with the free hand space avalible, offering it to the man next to her. "Don't think we've met."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a smile to Balder, "They are. I learned how to ride at night growing up." she muses to that. "They do have teachers for it these days. There are olympic sports involving horses these days." she admits to that. "Much less common and something that seems to be branded for the rich and afluent. I'd like everyone to be able to access them if they like to. No matter the money." she explains.

When he congratulates her there is a bit of a chuckle, "Well. Someone told me to take care of it or shut up about it, basically." she muses to that. "So I took care of it. Vision is mostly distorted. Like I can't see your face." she frowns at that. "We could go see the stables if you like?" she offers.

Then she hears Richard and there's a smile, "You're fine, Mister Stadler. I was just showing someone around. We're heading out to the equestrian center to look around if you wanted to join us for a break?" she offers. She lets Balder do the introductions!

Balder has posed:
A nod from Balder. "I suspect they are fallen out of fashion for some - though I do tend to fancy them more than the more modern conveyances." I mean, Bifrost excluding of course. "I think children should learn of them, though. What would happen if they needed a steed, and their automobiles were broken?"

He looks a bit proud that his advice was heeded. "I am sure you will be happier, and less concerned about being an imposition on others." The man assures her, nodding. "We could visit the stables, aye. I would like to see the fine horses you have here."

Turning to face the newly addressed man, Balder offers a nod. "I am Balder Odinson. It is a pleasure to meet you, Mister Stadler. Are you a student here?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Having given thanks and returned property, Mike opens the smaller access door of the stable. With the opened door, the trio touring the grounds is revealed to the entertainer.

The musician lifts up a hand to give the approaching group a wave. "Hey Mo-" There's a pause before Mike tilts his head down, bringing a curled up hand to his lips while he clears his throat. Looks like she's working. "-Dr. Morrigan."

God that feels weird to say.

He looks to Richard for a few moments, "Dr. Stadler."

Balder gets a longer look. "...I'm sorry, if we've met I'm having trouble remembering."

Richard Stadler has posed:
Richard gives a nod to Morrigan at the invitation. "I'd be glad to. This isn't anything pressing; just a favor I'm doing for a friend. Amazing what you can do with the right forms." He notes, flipping the clipboard and tucking it under one arm. "I'm glad to hear that eyesight is getting better, however. Any idea when it might be back up to snuff?" He notes.

Balder gets a bit of an open mouth. "Ahh." It takes a moment for the mental gears to set things off on the right direction with the evidence avalible. "Not... from around here with a name like that, I take it? No, I'm-" He starts, before looking over to Mike clip clopping on one of the self same horses that was being discussed... who does a reletively good job at answering the Asgardian's questions. "While I don't like to use the... Doctor around here, Mr. Hannigan's correct. I'm a teacher here. Biology; intro to life sciences, human physiology, the like. Do you have a child that might be going here?" He asks, before pausing, and turning. "And I'm sorry, I have to ask what you're doing playing 1st Cavalry, Mr. Hannigan?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a smile to Balder and she's feeling a bit less stressed now in things. "The students mainly take buses and things like that. Streets aren't made to accomodate horses much anymore." she admits to that. Then when he asks Richard if he's a student there is a bit of a chuckle. But she lets him straighten that out.

"Michael! It's good to se...hear you." she grins at that. "Mo's fine as well." she points out. "This is Balder Odinson, he's on leave from Asgard and wanted to see the school." she tells the musician.

Then to Richard, "Hopefully over the next few days. Had to get over some squeamishness was all." she tells him. Then Richard asks a very curious question of Balder and she listens in on that.

Balder has posed:
"All these machines, all these juggernauts of metal running rampant on the streets." A wry grin. "I'd much rather keep to horses, but even back home, that is not always possible." A sigh. "I do miss carring for steeds, though. Brushing them was a calming pasttime."

A shake of his head to Michael. "I do not believe we have met, no. You are?" Introductions and all!

Richard gets deep, happy laugh from Balder. "Nay, no children as of yet." The man muses, scratching at his chin in thought. "Perhaps one day, but I fear they will be educated elsewhere, all things being as they are. The future is hard to predict, however - so I may be wrong. Midgard has many fine institutions of learning, I am told."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Hmm. I think name varies on the person. Hank's preference kind of depended on who was saying it. He didn't seem to be a nickname type until he actually got to know someone." Mike blinks, looking over to Richard for a moment for the question. "First C-" He shakes his head, "I'm not playing soldier. I was just refamiliarizing myself on being around horses."

When Mo states for the group that she's fine with Mo, he gives a smile. "Back to Mo it is then."

Looking to the one Mike has not met yet, the musician offers his hand over for a handshake while Morrigan introduces Balder. "Michael Hannigan." He supplies for Balder, piecing together the pieces of information that Mo and Richard previously supplied in their comments. "Although when I'm working I tend to use a different title."

Ok that's confusing, "Uh, I'm not a teacher. I just help out by acting as a bit of a liaison between the school and the entertainment industry. Primarily Shaw Studios."

Richard Stadler has posed:
"Squemishness?" Richard asks, before shaking his head, just a tiny bit, to himself. "No, no, bad question to ask. I'll try that later. Just glad you're getting the vision back in that case. But ahh. I imagine that horses couldn't handle the ferry very well, getting over here, at the very least." He notes, bewfore his question is answered about those hypothetical children.

"Midgard... that's what you call... the country? Or the, ahh... planet, here? Sorry, I'm a little rusty with my Asgardian knowledge; last information I've gotten has got to be out of date. But that is true; Happy Harbor's got a wonderfully diverse student base, with a lot of students in situations that they can benefit from others going through... unique situations. Not that I wouldn't recommend Ann Arbor if any of your children decide to go to college, though. Sentimentality, I would say."

Michael on his high horse gets a bit of a look. "Could have fooled me. It looks like you know what you're doing, though that's another thing I'm quite the neophyte on. Went through some familiarization, ages ago, but I haven't had the need to ape Roosevelt... though, come to think of it, he didn't have horses, did he?" He muses. "Though... this is the first I'm hearing about that different title."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Richard and there's a soft nod, "Better for another time, yes." she tells him. Then to Balder, "When I have my sight back I'll take you for a drive in the Challenger. I'm not sure if you'll fit on my motorcycle." she muses to that.

"Is this part of the production you're putting on, Michael?" she asks the musician. Then there's an idea, "Maybe you should audition?" she looks to Balder. "You might be a good fit for one of the swashbuckling parts." she grins at that.

"And no, he's not a teacher. But he is a liason and we value him a lot. He's been through a lot with the school." she admits.

Balder has posed:
Balder's eyes go to Morrigan for a moment, before turning to the other men. Michael's hand is shook - firmly, but not overly so. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Michael Hannigan. A liason to the arts? Interesting role you serve, then. Do you represent artists, then?" The Asgardian wonders. "Do you arrange for performances at the school?"

"Midgard is the name given to this realm, of the nine Asgard tends to." He explains to Michael. "And I suspect the travel for each lesson would take a good amount of energy from the Bifrost." A slight chuckle at the thought of the repeated rainbow beams to Earth. "Who is this Ann? Is she a teacher here?" Clearly, he's not familiar with Michigan.

A glance again to Mo. "I have not performed in some time. Swashbuckling? An adventurer? Do your stories speak of history, or of things imagined?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Pale eyes glance down to the hand being shook for a moment before looking back to Balder. "More we arrange for field trips to where interested students can attend concerts, see the work that goes on behind the scenes to produce the show, and find ways to where they can get a little of involvement in the industry directly. Sort of a work study program. Or a bit of an mini-apprenticeship."

Mike looks over to Richard once more, lowering his hand. "When I'm touring or am acting It's usually under my stage name of Nick Drago. I mean, I have a few recording sessions and songs credited to my legal name but the stage name is my main brand."

Morrigan's question gets rewarded with a nod "Yes. There are going to be some scenes involving horses in the movie. Last time I rode a horse was for Descent from Darkness so I definitely need to get back in practice for that." He glances over to Balder, "There's also some sword fighting- If that's a specialty of yours, I'm sure casting would love to speak with you."

Richard Stadler has posed:
"Ahh." Richard says, when hearing the name. "You know, that name rings a bell. I've heard it before. Or seen it, a few times, looking through a streaming service. Can't quite recall the titles, though, but certainly the name rings a bell, he notes. "But I can envy you a bit in that your job allows you to do some of the more interesting activities avalible. Those are generally hard to come by, from my personal experience." He bites his tongue a bit from saying something about maybe not /quite/ thinking 'movie star' is a carrer the student body should aspire to. Tactiful but leading to a bit of ignorance, that.

"I didn't realize they had a name for this... err... realm. We call it Earth, though I haven't exactly sat down with high level diplomatic talks, so I might be mistaken. Willing to admit when I'm wrong! But..." He pauses. "Ahh. Well. It's... I suppose it'd be Ann... Allen or... gah. I'm getting old. But it was named after the wives of the founders. The city. I'm talking more about the university there, though. Wonderful biology program and some good research insitutes to their name. I'd say it also benefits from being close to Detriot... I want to say that, but I... really can't." He winces, slightly. It /was/ Detriot after all.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan is happy to let the men converse and for the Asgardian Prince to meet more people. She was just listening. Then she gives a sheepish look, "Asgard tends to nine realms. Those are Alfheim, Asgard, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Midgard, Svartalfheim, Niflheim, Helheim and Muspelheim." the Irish woman states. "I think I got all of those correct." she gives a smile to that.

"I think Michael is working on the Count of Monte Cristo. It was a book that was written long ago here." she tells Balder.

"I think it might be fun. That's the only reason I suggested it." she admits. Then to Michael, "If you need to borrow the horses just let us know or we're happy to have them on loan. Given it's Winter not a lot of people want to go riding." she admits.

"Ann Arbor is a city in Michigan." she points out, but Richard already had it!

Balder has posed:
The Asgardian nods to Michael, seeming to catch on. "An apprenticeship, those are good. It readies the child for the profession they are interested in, and gets them experience working with a tradesmaster." A smile. "A noble position to have, facilitating such things. And you are an artist yourself, then? An actor?" There's the mention of swordsmanship as well. "I am among many who know the blade in Asgard." At least he's humble about that.

"Aye, Midgard." He grins to Richard. "Earth, as well I suppose. Languages are fantastic, to see the different names each thing or place has in another culture." As the explanation goes on about the college in Michigan, he ahs. "An institution named for a good man, then? Is that the same for this Happy Harbor?"

A wide grin as Morrigan provides the answer of the realms. "Indeed. While not always in peace, Asgard does strive to tend to each of the realms in turn. Monte Cristo. That does ring a bell - is that a book?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Streaming?" Mike repeats, "...Sea Wolf perhaps?" He wonders aloud. He shakes it off but he does end up nodding to learning different things. "Well, one of the roles did cause for me to have some violin pieces added to my repitoire. It's not my most asked for instrument for session work but it did get me a chance to play with the Roman Philharmonic so that was a pretty nice experience."

The musician looks over to Morrigan and smiles, giving a nod. "Yes. But the movie is an adaptation of the musical which is not a straight from the book script."

He glances over to Balder, "I'm a musician first. I started off with Silver Round about 12 years ago. My bandmates were masters of their instruments it was- more or less an apprenticeship for me. They were, very patient. And I've been fortunate that Wade has been with me since the others passed. The acting is more recent."

Richard Stadler has posed:
Richard Stadlergives a bit of a snort. "I haven't read that book since high school. Still, las it was mentioned, there's certainly some swashbuckling and swordplay avalibke, if I recall. Though sword play isn't something I've experience with, either. Always more of the opinion that a proper polearm could handle a sword in most situations." Well, isn't he conceited. "And it's... more named for the city, honestly. Not that there isn't some buildings on campus with the names. Angell Hall, for one, though don't ask me anything about the man." He stops, musing, and looking over to Morrigan. "Doctor, how was Happy Harbor named? It did always seem to me like it was a bit of an odd name for a city."

Rick pauses again, before nodding slowly. "That might have been it...Or that vampire one? Honestly, it was a very quick perusual. I'll have to look things up again when I have the chance in between various tasks. But you're a bit of a renassiance man, aren't you, Mr. Hannigan?"
