Date of Scene: 18 January 2023
Location: Dazzler's Music Studio
Synopsis: Stuff happened. Songs were written. Snoop Dogg gave Ali a blunt.
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Alison Blaire

Rogue has posed:
With the recording studio being a new added, and completed, element of the Xaviers house, Rogue hadn't had a chance to stop by it. Until now!

With it being around 11pm, she was waiting for her laundry to finish up and saw the light on the door saying stuff was happening inside the studio. Dressed in a long sleeve tshirt, some track pants, and tennis shoes, the southern Belle opens the door and peers inside... Her eyes dart around as she draws in what's going on.

"Hey, whats up in here?" She asks, interrupting whatever it may be that so happens to be going on!

Alison Blaire has posed:
Alison hasn't really had a chance to use some of the equipment, much less spend any time in the studio since it was built. Always seems to be something keeping her busy or just keeping her away... but she's here tonight. Sitting at the mixing board with a set of headphones, pushing up the mix-adjusters on whatever she's listening to with her head gently bobbing as it plays.

With Rogue's very intentional interruption, Ali pulls off her headset and glances back at the doorway with a grin, "Nothing, not really. Was just doing some audio for a song I've been working on." She turns in her comfortable swivel chair as she speaks, barefoot, hair tied back, and wearing casual clothes far outside what anyone would consider stylish. "How about you? Can't sleep?"

Rogue has posed:
Once it's clear that Dazzler is not going to yell at her to leave, Rogue slips all the way in to the room and lets the door shut behind her. She grins and walks over to the equipment that the performer is seated at. Her hands go to her hips and she just grins back at her, shrugging her shoulders. "I only ever need about four hours of sleep anyway. So, I could probably sleep right now if I wanted, I just figured I'd stay up a bit and do some late night chores, ya see." The southern gal says with a grin before she finds one of the chairs at the computer boards to sit down on the edge of.

Her green eyes wander over all the controls. "How the hell do you even remember how t'operate this stuff?" She asks, leaning forward to read some of the small printed control notes.

"Hey, if ya ever need someone to do like the triangle or cow bell, don't hesitate t'ask, okay?" She asks, glancing to her left to the other woman with a grin.

Alison Blaire has posed:
Ali flickers a grin and shrugs, "Yeah, I don't sleep much either." Whether because she doesn't have to or for any number of other reasons. She settles back in her chair and turns to the mixing board with another half shoulder shrug, "It's not that complicated, but it was all trial and error. Usually I hire a producer to adjust all my levels for me, but I wanted this album to be more personal."

Another glance over at Rogue, laughing, "Hey, don't knock the cowbell. There was a whole period of music it was on every single song." The headphones remain looped around her neck, fingers knit together in a loose ball atop the soundboard.

"Thanks for this, by the way. Getting them to build the studio I mean. If there's much interest in it and I have the extra time, maybe I can start doing classes or something?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's green eyes go back to wandering over the board, and the computer screens showing the music tracks as they mix and play together. She doesn't look back over to Alison until 'thanks' is brought up. Her shoulders shrug then. "I just was one of the sign-offs on it at the meeting back in September, or October, or whenever it was." She says. "Of course I'd give my vote for this use of school money." She says then with a grin appearing on her dusky pink hued lips.

"And yeah, that kinda music is pretty much all I listen to anymore. I love the classics. My dad got me inta them when I was little, an' now that he's back around, well... I guess I've gotten kinda like a reinvigoration inta them, I guess."

She draws in a breath then and leans back in her chair. "So, ya got headphones, or whatever, so I can listen t'what you got so far? I don't wanna bother ya, just hangin' out till my phone beeps and it's time to go change the machines."

Her eyes wander up and over to the play area beyond the sound proofed window. "I sure wish I'd actually indulged my aunt, and learned how t'play the piano though." She says, glancing back to Alison. "She was a music teacher, and always tried t'sit me down in front of her piano to learn, but... I had to fight authority at all costs back then." She says with a glimmering grin. "Seriously though, don't wanna interrupt ya..."

Alison Blaire has posed:
Alison snorts a laugh and grabs a second set of headphones, wireless, which she holds out to Rogue. "There you go. Should work anywhere in the mansion. If you listen all the way through the mix, I got a few tracks from Beyonce on there too.. I've wanted to work with her for a while." Not that they're really in the same music category, but... who doesn't want to work with the Queen?

She likewise grabs her own headphones from around her neck and goes to pop them back over her ears, "Wasn't an interruption though. This is all post-production work. Most of the album is finished, I just wanted to adjust a few levels on one of the more complex sequences." Pointing to the part she'd paused when Rogue came in, "I'm not even sure it's going to work, but we'll see."

That last part, though. "You know the only thing stopping you from learning the piano now is laziness, right?" She says it good natured, winking at the woman as she goes to leave. "Don't be a stranger. I'll be here all night when your chores or done. I have a fat ass blunt Snoop Dogg gave me that I'm going to smoke later."
