Synopsis: Carol returns from space to catch up with the lovely Princess of Themyscira!
Cast of Characters: Carol Danvers, Diana Prince

Carol Danvers has posed:
Carol had been gone for a few weeks. Something about the Kree and a border dispute. Whatever the truth of it is, she'd not been on Earth and phones still begrudgingly refused to work outside the Solar System. It makes her sudden return to the Embassy a surprise as she stops by the Receptionist and asks to see Diana, patiently waiting at the message is passed up the chain to the Princess herself.

She's still wearing her Captain Marvel uniform, long red sash bound about the waist and - of course - Themysciran bracers fastened about the wrists. She stands with her hands clasped behind her back with the sort of military informality she's been unable to shake.

Diana Prince has posed:
Carol only has to wait for a minute before a tall Amazon woman steps through the central hall of the main foyer, of which the reception area just sits off to the side of. The tall brunette woman spies Carol. "Captain Danvers?" She asks in her husky accented voice. "The Princess awaits you. Come with me?"

And there-after Carol is lead down that central hall, between the curving dual staircases of the main foyer and toward the center of the embassy. The double doors leading out to the courtyard are opened up and Diana is visible outside, standing with two other women out by the fountain. It's chilly outside, but not unbearably so, nothing either of these two women would have issues with.

Diana is dressed in a crimson sweater, fit to her form, and tucked in to a pair of black slacks that go down over black leather boots with two inch heels hoisting her up over six feet in height.

Diana affords a glance toward the arriving Carol and she offers her a smile and a wave before the woman can reach her. Her eyes go back to the two much shorter women, who clearly are not Amazonian. Their conversation wraps up before Carol can reach them along the small courtyard pathway, and when the two walk past Carol they both offer her smiles before heading back the way Carol had come.

Diana turns to Carol, and moves to offer her a light hug. "Welcome back, I heard you have been gone for several weeks."

Carol Danvers has posed:
Carol leans in to return the hug, shifting her head a little to give Diana a light kiss on the cheek. She pauses for a moment, thoughtful, before stepping back but keeping Diana's forearm's gently clasped in her hands. She watches the others leave in silence, before turning her eyes back to the Princess and nodding her head.

"More or less, yeah," she replies, "Ever since word got out about the Spaceport, the Kree have been trying to set up outposts closer and closer to our system. It's good news in a way - they're interested in dealing with us directly - but we need that buffer zone. At least to start with."

She gives Diana's arms a slightly squeeze: "And what about you? Been busy?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana steps back then and lets her fingers lace together in front of her lap as she listens to Carol's rundown of events she's been partaking in. The last question has the Princess glance away, summon a smile to her red lips, before she looks back once more. "I guess that you could say that I have been busy doing something similar to that of the Kree, though I am sure on a much smaller scale." She says in good humor before she clarifies.

"The international missions to the Moon have been underway, the site for the Lunar Colony is being cleared, and the final preparations are in-order for the construction process to begin. Thus... Mankind is pushing a little further out toward the Kree in return."

She smirks then and motions toward the seating beside the large fountain pool that is not spraying water at this time of year, but does have standing water in it, that is only gently flowing to keep it clear and keep the pool fresh.

diana would lower down to sit on the edge of the bench then, and look back to Carol. "I do not think Earth is ready for large amounts of alien species arriving, and walking freely amongst the people. I believe, by and large, Humanity needs time to warm up to the very idea itself..."

Carol Danvers has posed:
"That's what you've got me out there for," Carol answers with a cocksure twitch at the corner of her mouth, "A lot of them figure that since you hung up the shingle, you're open for business. I'm trying to make sure they take it slow. Especially since, in most cases, the last time they had any experience with Earth was operating here without our knowledge."

The mention of missions to the Moon seems to visibly envigorate Carol and her hands squeeze and relax several times as a broad grin crosses her face.

"Do you know how jealous I am? I mean, I can just ... " she makes a little upward motion with a light whistle, " ... zip up there, but I was an astronaut, Diana. I wanted so badly to wear that flag on my shoulder and walk on other worlds."

Diana Prince has posed:
There comes only a half glance from Diana toward the sky. She then just shows a reserved smile at what the blonde says back to her. "Yes." She starts her reply with a small pause. "We, the ones graced with gifts that allow us to 'zip up there', could take the forefront of this endeavor and build the Colony ourselves, and do it in short order... much as the Justice League did with the Watchtower facility. But..."

She glances away again, and lets her eyes roam around the courtyard. "It would not push the Human race forward,if we did that. Yes, we could, but 'we' are few in numbers. It is up to Mankind to forge forward, and it is up to us to simply be there for support."

Diana looks back to Carol, and shows her a grin. "Would you like one of the arm badges?" She asks, tilting toward her and whispering coyly. "I can pull a few strings..."

Carol Danvers has posed:
"You're teasing me," Carol says, giving Diana a light and playful slap on the shoulder, "Besides, it wouldn't feel right. I wouldn't have earned it. But that said, I hope you won't be mad if I stop by up there to watch or help out from time to time. Hell, maybe there's room for a Themysciran Embassy up there, hmm? Everything's more fun in low gravity."

There's a pause, and the former astronaut lifts her fist to her mouth to cover up a cough. Then, turning back to Diana, she swiftly moves the conversation onwards.

"I'm sorry I didn't make it to the Justice League meeting. I know I'm not a 'proper member', but I would've gone. I heard the message on my machine after I got back."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is just smiling through that response and then laughing lightly at the part about the message on the machine, as it dates Carol back in time some, a time that Diana certainly remembers too! "It is fine. We have many of them, overall. The Embassy on the Moon may not be that far off, either, in the grand scheme of how things play out... The territory on the Moon, its surface, is already up for debate on which country controls what parts, as is the space between the Earth and the Moon, already being ... bickered over, about national affiliations. The squabbling is endless, as it were."

Diana then just smiles more warmly, and evenly, to the Captain of Marvels. "The men and women on the Moon, doing these missions, would take comfort in having you there to observe and oversee, I think. Though they are amongst our bravest, it is always nice to know someone is there to offer a helping hand in case of need. We live in a era of great achievements, and great threats too, after all..."

"How long are you staying around this time?" The Princess then asks.

Carol Danvers has posed:
"A while," Carol explains, "A long while, if I can help it. We've got a lot going on here and I want to help."

She runs a hand through her hair, turning her eyes up towards the sky as well. She doesn't have the sort of vision that allows her to see in any detail beyond a normal person, but she still imagines she can see the land up there that might one day be a burgeoning city.

"Besides," eyes flick down to take a sudden interest in the still fountain, "I miss you out there."

Diana Prince has posed:
When Carol looks at the reflective water mirroring the grey sky above back up toward it, Diana looks to it as well, but only for a moment. She looks back to Carol and shows her another light smile. "Well, that is good. We are all safer when you are here, after all." She says back before the last bit that Carol says has Diana reaching out to put a hand over the other woman's forearm, across that bracer that she's wearing. "I am glad to have you here too." She adds with a sincerity to her tone of voice.

Diana glances toward the pathway leading back toward the double doors inside. "Would you like to stay for a bit? I believe we are having dinner soon. You would be welcome to stay and enjoy it with us? I am sure some of my newer sisters to the city would be thrilled to hear some of your stories involving the Kree, and otherwise, out amongst the stars. Some of them are still getting used to just ... well... cars and the internet, after all." She says with a little smile before she'll rise up to stand again.

Carol Danvers has posed:
"I'd love to. I sublet the apartment out, and I hate sleeping at the Mansion. You don't have to ask me twice."

Carol's mood visibly lifts at the prospect of spending more time at the Embassy. It's no secret that she enjoys the company of the the Themyscirans; a whole culture after her own heart.

"War stories, huh? I can't wait."
