Synopsis: Damian comes by stock new armor in the Red Cave and maybe check on Jason. Words are shared. Even friendly ones at that.
Cast of Characters: Jason Todd, Damian Wayne

Jason Todd has posed:
With the new year unfolding, life in the Bat Family is as busy as ever. Between patrols, cases, crisis and public events requiring the presence of one Wayne family rep or another, the first month has already come and gone.

Jason has been his usual friendly self. Not that he hasn't been making the effort to be better about family things over the last year. It's just Jason. He's pretty hard to tolerate in more than ^small doses most of the time.

Tonight finds him in the 14th Steeet Garage, the garage that doesn't have customers not named Jason Todd or that aren't friends or Bat Family.

His '69 Mustang Mach 1 has the hood lifted off and he is leaning over the fender, wrenching on the engine.

A beat up boom box fills the cavernous space with the sounds of Creedance Clearwater Revival's _Run Through The Jungle_.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian had a delivery to lay out at the Red Cave, or at least the auxiliary Batcave that was attached to the Red Cave.

Damian's midnight blue GTR pulls up, rumbling with a high timbre in front of the 14th street garage, once he got out, opening the trunk and taking out a decently sized suitcase, rolling it up to the Mach 1. "Todd." He comments, its the usual Damian greeting, very neutrally said. "What is wrong on the engine?" That was said softer, only a little, but it was interested in what was going on under the hood of that Ford.

Jason Todd has posed:
The benefits of having an auxiliary cave under the garage are legion. For one, Jason doesn't have to go all the way out to the Estate to access the network or perform investigative work and research. Another is that the proximity alerts let him know when anyone is close to the garage and whether they are friend or foe.

And then there's Damian.

Somehow the odds he could be both at the same time must be considered.

Still Jason doesn't react to the alert, letting Damian find his way inside. At the question of what's wrong, Jason waits a few seconds to reply as he finishes tightening down the bolt he was working with.

"Just maintenance."

Another few clicks of the socket wrench tighen another bolt farther and he stands up, setting the wrench on a rolling work table with a metallic thunk.

Grabbing a rag he wipes off his hands as he turns to look at his brother.

"What's up?"

Damn it was still so strange to be almost looking the kid in the eyes after the past few years with Damian running around like one of the Keebler Elves.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian taps the suitcase with his shoe gently. "Updates. All of the sites with suits get the new model." Of course it also serves to check in with everyone, but that would mean Damian would have to admit he was curious to keep up with the rest of the family.

"Oh." He comments, once the maintenance is brought up. While Damian does keep up with his car, it isn't the same kind of beast as Jason's.

He was definitely different than three years ago when he got to Gotham, not nearly the brash and crass Damian, but settled into his own groove, so to speak.

Jason Todd has posed:
The family does have that issue. Wanting to be a family but not exactly seeming to know how to make that work. Alfred has to be the source of gravity that keeps the family in proper orbit. God knows if it were just up to Bruce.. well. But really everyone tries in their own ways. That's what family does. Even the more dysfunctional ones.

Tossing the rag down, Jason looks to the case, then nods. "Makes sense." He studies the case a moment, then walks over to one of the car lifts. He presses one of the buttons, then reaches up to press that second hidden button only the Family knows about.

A hollow metallic clunk is followed by the floor beside the lift starting to sink downward to form the ramp that leads into the Cave.

"Any good updates this time around?" he asks curiously while waiting for the ramp to finish lowering into position.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Umm. Yes. At least for me." Damian comments while travelling down the ramp. "It's a new suit. Completely. I told Father it was time for me to be something bigger. Something more. So, after many experiments and prototypes...I finally put together something worthy of being my next suit."

Once they get to the suit area, he opens the suitcase, biometric scan opens the case from the side, and a black and red suit can be seen, at least the cowl and the chest can in this storage mode. "I wanted to be a Bat." The suit was advanced, armored but not too heavy, the wearer had to be nimble in it, but also survive blows that Titans villains can dish out. "It is made for stealth."

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd had figured it was just new gear for Damian but nods as it is confirmed. "Yeah?" As they enter the cave, he walks toward the suit lockers then turns to lean against one of them wit his shoulders.

He watches as the case is opened and the armor is glimpsed. He arches a brow. He'd question that -Want to be a Bat- statement. But this is Bruce's kid. His actual progeny.

"Well I guess if any of us has a claim to that, it'd be you." How does Jason feel about that? Probably mixed, but the tone of his voice (he hopes) stays neutral-to-positive.

Pushing off the locker with his broad shoulders, Jason walks over to look more closely at the armor. What he can see certainly suggests it would suit Damian's fighting style.

"Nice. It looks good."

Turning to walk toward the small break area to grab an apple from the mini 'fridge, he calls out, "So. Got a new name then? Or are you going to be RobinBat?" It's an honest question with a hint of sarcasm. Because, Jason.

The snap of the apple fills the cave as he bites into it. "Bruth ith good with thith?" Try and understand that one.

And apparently he just had to question it after all.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian looks a bit proud of the suit, without too much pretention. "Batwing. At least that was the best one I could think of.

When the question on if Bruce is okay with it comes up, Damian gives a nod. "He apparently was wondering when I was going to want to move on from Robin. And he gave his blessing." He was suprised at that still.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd listens and watches as Damian explains.

"Huh" he grunts as he swallows the bite of apple.

Walking back over he again examines the armor and offers a nod.

"Good job. He doesn't like indecision." Or killing.

Then as quick as this little almost-bonding moment between the two may have started, Jason starts in motion, "Well there's plenty of storage space for you to keep a spare here." As if it were up to Jason and not simply a fact of the Cave's design.

Turning, he begins to walk back up the ramp. "Lock up when you're done, kid."

Because tall or not, he was still the youngest of them.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian gives a nod. Part of him wanted to say more, but he never had the wherewithall to do small talk. "Yeah, sure." He offers before unpacking the suit, he'd end up taking the Robin suit back with him, one more for the archive.

Admittedly, Jason was one of the brothers he got along well with, never feeling pressure to be more than what he was comfy with.
