A Teacher's Visit
Date of Scene: 26 February 2020
Location: Wakandan Embassy
Synopsis: What starts off with Jean approaching T'Challa about Wakanda's help with Genosha turns into T'Challa getting a guard in Bobbi and a shopping trip for the two girls and Megan. At least T'Challa didn't have to carry the bags?
Cast of Characters: T'Challa, Jean Grey, Bobbi Morse, Megan Gwynn

T'Challa has posed:
It has been a busy morning already in the Wakandan Embassy. With T'Challa's pledge to assist Genosha, phones have been busy and meetings have been steady thoughout the night. This morning brings a brief reprieve as the fires seem to have died down -- especially in light of the King using a certain editor's own words against him. T'Challa himself in down on the first floor, one of his guard with him as he glances aside to Okoye. "What do you think, my friend? A resonable response?"

Okoye just smirks and shakes her head. "You could have held back on that dig in the editorial. It is not your fight."

Jean Grey has posed:
Normally Jean Grey would be busy with either teaching at the school, or possibly coordinating some relief efforts for Genosha as one of the senior X-Men. But, well, she was skimming the editorial page for the Bugle when she noticed two things.

First, getting a replacement monitor for the telekinetic crunch that was inflicted after reading the editorial about Genoshans 'getting what they deserved'.

Second, after reading the comments, and Wakanda's own pledge for humanitarian aid and support... well, Jean decided that it was worth looking a bit further into Wakanda since, well, there's the public image of the place. Which is in stark contrast to what has been shown in recent days. Either way, it's best to do a little friendly investigating.

Leading to Jean walking into the Embassy lobby, dressed in a very sharp business suit. White shirt, dark green jacket and matching slacks, with black heels. However, to those in the superhero business (like, say, the Avengers), it's pretty hard not to notice that this is Marvel Girl stopping by for a visit.

T'Challa has posed:
After entering the embassy, that statue of the panther looms large in the foyer, the receptionist desk right behind it. The decor is distincly tribal and Wakandan, even if most of the staff only hae few accessories with what would be considered normal suits and office wear.

https://tinyurl.com/wakandafoyer

Of course it doesn't help that the receptionist has her head tilted in confusion. "I am sorry, Miss... Grey, was it? His Majesty can't just see anyone." she's trying to explain politely. After all, she doesn't know who Jean Grey is from Melissa Grey.

Overhearing the discussion nearby, T'Challa holds up his hand to Okoye. "It is all our responsibility. Any seed that is planted that could ruin the garden must be addressed."

"You took too many philosophy courses at Oxford, my King." Okoye responds, but doesn't stop T'Challa from going to investigate. And as he notices the redhead at the desk, T'Challa takes a few moments to realize when he's seen that face before. And in spandex instead of her 'power suit'. Clearing his throat politely, he asks finally. "Molo, unjani." 'Hello, how are you?' for those in the audience with mental powers.

"This young woman was seeking an audience, Your Majesty, I know you have been quite busy. T'Challa shakes his head. "This young woman is an old friend. Please, if you would?" he asks, offering his arms to Jean after crossing them over his chest in a salute. "It has been some time!"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles, "Hello again, Your Majesty. It has been a little while." She steps towards T'Challa, offering him her hand as she says, "Far too long, really, but with recent events, and your response... well, I thought I would stop by to express my personal thanks. Not too many people would have done what you have, in this position."

She pauses, then continues, "And, well, I did recall the last time we met that you extended an offer to visit the Embassy, so as the saying goes, 'no time like the present.'" A wry expression crosses her features, "Though with as busy as people like us tend to be, it makes it a bit difficult to make social calls."

T'Challa has posed:
Chuckling, T'Challa accepts the hand and gives her a warm and firm grip. After releasing her hand, T'Challa leads Jean a little distance away as they walk among the holographic representations of Wakanda's /known/ history. But the holograms themselves are very advanced, a hint of a clue of the true nature of the small country. "I would normally have to wonder about the terrible timing of it all. In this case, however, I would say it is appropriate."

"I am sorry for your... the world's loss, Marvel Girl." Because he's not sure if she wants to be called that, or if he even knows her real name. "Genosha is one of our closest neighbors, and despite how Magneto may have come to power, it does not give right to someone going rogue to lash out at a populace. It would have been no better than the United States launching a nuclear attack on Iran after the Revolution of 1979."

But T'Challa didn't bring that up in the editorial response, because Oshira knows that some people will wonder why they didn't nuke the place.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean nods, "You can call me Jean, Your Majesty, and yes, I appreciate it. My own relationship with Magneto was... troubled." Considering that she started opposing him, that's probably a bit of an understatement. "But even disagreeing with his methods doesn't justify the deaths of millions of innocent lives."

She smiles slightly at the holograms, perhaps reminded of the School's own facade in the midst of normalcy, and looks over at T'Challa, "In any event, I wanted you to know that certain groups do, in fact, greatly appreciate your public stance in this matter. Plus, it was a good opportunity for me to come and view your Embassy. Admittedly, I've always been somewhat curious about your home since we first met."

T'Challa has posed:
"T'Challa, then, if we are to be so informal." he responds as he gives Jean a quick smile as the Panther looks thoughtful as they walk amongst the different holograms interposed with displays of native dress and weapons. One display case in the center holds a small sample of Vibranium suspended in mid-air inside the case. Wakanda's backbone. "Is there any leads on who caused this?" he asks. Because Jean may know things he does not. "And did any of his family survive?"

"I was sincere when I extended the offer to you and your friends when they assisted me. You are honored guests of the Wakandan government." he explains, as he considers her for a long moment. "But I know that speaking on Genosha at this time may be a hardship. If you would like ask me about my home, I would be more than happy to provide distraction."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean hmms, "That, we're not entirely sure on... we haven't been able to do as thorough a check as we would like, since..." Well, it's not like there was any love lost between the Brotherhood and the X-Men, though she does have those she considered friends over there. "Lorna is unaccounted for, but I'm fairly certain Wanda is still here in New York. I was hoping to have a chance to stop by to see her today, in fact."

She chuckles, "Well, informal or not, I'm not a Queen of anything, T'Challa, so I wouldn't presume to call you that without permission." Maybe a bit of light teasing, to get her mind off of everything, as she hmms, "No leads. I mean, Sentinels were involved, but that doesn't really narrow anything down, does it?"

She pauses, then decides to change the subject, "So, how exactly //does// a small obscure nation that stays out of sight manage to handle such exceptional technology and resources?" Of course, she could just get the answer easily enough, but it IS a subject change.

T'Challa has posed:
"There are ways for one to become a Queen, Jean." that is T'Challa's rejoiner to her light tease as he gives her a nod. "I was not sure of how involved Wanda was in her father's political ambitions - but I wanted to open the door to allow for those that need a place to relocate to have a place. I know that mutants in America are not exactly... encouraged immigration."

He lets out a breath. "In fact, in Wakanda, the birthrate for a mutant is roughly one in every one point five million. As you can imagine, we do not have a large mutant population. And those we do have are revered." See Storm, for instance. "We just recently had a new mutant develop his powers. And had considered approaching Xavier's to see to helping him." he explains.

But, then she brings up the question du jour. He lets out a breath, considering the thought and chews on the inside of his cheek. "Would you like to join me?" he asks, as he moves towards a meeting room, tapping in a few commands on the pad, and the door unlocks to what looks like a plain room with a table and chairs and monitor. "This is something best discussed in private."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean laughs very softly at the mention of becoming a Queen, then hmms, "As far as I know, Wanda eschewed the ambitions of her father a while ago, she's a friend, a dear one." She nods a bit, "And yes, mutants in America are... well, for some that have less visible mutations, it's easier as we can pass unseen. But for others, well..." She sighs and shakes her head, "A problem I'm sure you're all too aware of."

Then at the mention of discussing things in private, she smiles, "Why, certainly, I'd be honored to join you." With that, she steps into the room, looking around curiously and... well, a bit of surprise on her face as it seems so generic in there.

T'Challa has posed:
Once they are in the room, T'Challa seals the room completely. "I must stress that this is a matter of secrecy. The things I am about to show you will be revealed soon enough, I planned to have a reporter come with me when I showed the true nature of Wakanda. But in light of this crisis, I feel that the time table must be advanced. I am showing you this because I know of your ties to mutantkind, and that you are genuine in the offer of assistance."

"Computer." he annoucnes to the system, and there's a chirp. "Bring up Project: Expose."

Immediately, the room changes. It shifts and shimmers -- it's an effect not unlike that of the Danger Room of the Mansion. Gone is the bland, generic meeting room. They are surrounded in holographic screens, an interactive crystal table, and the walls are literally moving with data.

"When the colonization of Africa came from Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries, Wakanda was able to repulse it and maintain it's isolation from the rest of the world." he starts in explanation. "We were never touched by the explotation and greed of the Western world, and it allowed Wakanda to determine it's own path of destiny instead of having to bend it's knee." he starts.

"Most countries are dependent upon the sale of natural resources for income fall under what economists call a natural resource curse. This curse appears when, as is too often the case, nascent governments use revenues from natural resources for self-aggrandizement. In many post-colonial African countries, money from the sale of natural resources are turned into expensive cars, extravagant additional homes in foreign countries, and immense personal savings accounts for members of the government. It does not finance education, health care, or infrastructure. My forefathers -- my ancestors, forewent the idea of personal wealth to better the counrty. We wanted to advance our populace." he explains. "The average lifespan of a Wakandan is one hundred twenty years." He'll let that sink in. He has not explained exactly /how/ this happened yet.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks a bit, not used to seeing this level of technology outside the Danger Room or the Mansion, really. Of course, having Forge and Shi'ar technology at your disposal makes it relatively old hat. Still, she looks suitably impressed.

And when T'Challa goes over details about how Wakanda was able to repulse invaders, she hrms a bit, looking over at him curiously with an expression that clearly shows she's putting things together. "Well, yes, the problems of post-colonial governments are that they exploit themselves for the gain of a few... not that much different than what they were as colonies, frankly." Or the thought that victims of abuse can often become abusive themselves.

Then she glances back towards T'Challa, and smiles a bit, "One hundred and twenty... well, I do think that there might be a certain metal that's at the heart of your prosperity, then?" She did notice the vibranium, after all, and she's seen the Black Panther in action.

T'Challa has posed:
"I always knew you were an observant young woman, Jean." T'Challa responds as he watches her response. Or rather - part of the non-plussed part of it. She's a woman that's seen alien worlds, after all. But T'Challa is willing to try. "Take us to Birnin Zana, please." he asks the computer. "Real time."

In Wakanda, it's currently night time, and the view changes accordingly to what one would see from the balcony of the royal palace.

https://tinyurl.com/waknight

"Vibranium is one of our cornerstones, yes, along with it's unique properties. We'e developed medicines, sciences, and other applications. While the world may see a country of warriors and goat farmers, we've spent our time developing intellects and thinkers. Cancer was eradicated in Wakanda in 1998." He looks aside to her. "You understand why this must remain a secret."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean whistles softly, "That's a view, all right. And not one I think I'd ever see on Earth." She smiles a little, "Reminds me more of the Shi'ar Throneworld, I was there as a guest once." Which was a nice respite after a lot of fighting.

She glances over at T'Challa, "Yes, I do, though... well, wait, you had a cure for cancer? For that long?" She seems a bit surprised that was kept under wraps for 20+ years. Not that she's judging, but... well, her expression definitely shows that she'd like an explanation.

T'Challa has posed:
He sees that expression. He's seen that expression. "I've never travelled off-world." he admits as T'Challa gives Jean a smile. "It is something I have thought of doing before - but my duties are to Wakanda first." he explains. Then he decides to address the question as he steps to the edge of the balcony, folding his hands behind it. "Let me answer the question on the tip of your tongue with my own question."

"If I were to announce right now that we could cure cancer..." he looks aside to her, and to show her the proof of his claim, he swipes his hand across an invisible screen and brings up the DNA inference and research. "...in a country where a drug that only costs four dollars to create but is charged at one thousand times that rate per dose... what do you think it would be responded to?" he asks her. "Immediately, America's FDA would decry it as a fraud. The world's courts would tie it in litigation for years, if not decades. Because if money cannot be made off of it, it is not wanted."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean gets a bit of a wry look, "I want to say people are better than that... but well, that's a good point." She sighs, "A painful one, admittedly, but a good one. When I think of what we could do, if we had the real opportunity..." She trails off, resting her hands on the back of the chair in front of her.

Then she looks over at T'Challa, "And well, to be honest, I'd love to go visit some worlds when the fate of the galaxy was //not//, in fact, at stake. But it seems the only times I ever get out there are for emergencies. Which is a shame."

T'Challa has posed:
"Real opprotunity. That is what I want to give with Wakanda, Jean." T'Challa admits. "But it's a painful truth. Marco Polo's travel was for commerce and riches. Ponce de Leon wanted to find the Fountain of Youth to sell its waters and give himself eternal youth. Jaume Ferrer came through Africa in the search for a 'River of Gold'. Even in Wakanda, we have had to turn away Romans, Knights Templar, the Dutch under Klaue."

"In the second World War, the Germans attempted to take Wakanda by force. It was the first time that Wakanda had contact with Americans. In this case, Captain America and Sergeant Nick Fury assisted my grandfather in turning back the German threat. He had hoped that it would be the start of relations with the Western World." There's a soft chuckle. "In the Royal museum back home, we actually have the Capatain's shield on display. It was a gift in trade after the battle."

But then T'Challa sombers, "However, my grandfather soon discovered the greed and corruption that undercuts the American Dream..." Ah the 1950s, "...and once again... we withdrew."

He draws in his breath. "In this, with what happened in Genosha, Wakanda is willing to help. We are willing to treat. We are willing to provide comfort and aid. What we are not doing is selling Wakanda. There will be no... afrotourism from this. We do not want to become just another destination for an 'Influencer'. We are a serious country, and we want to be accepted as such."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't all about spycraft. For example...is in a gown. An actual gown. With frills. And....God help anyone who doesn't look at her face, a neckline. Eyes are up here. With her staves strapped to her thigh, Bobbi's like something out of a....a...Victorian era novel. All she needs is the corset. Her cleavage is on show with the gown's cut. She's made a promise to herself to pummel anyone caught staring. Her currunt count? two SHIELD agents. One quinjet pilot who got a hell of a sassing and dropped Bobbi five feet off the ground for being called choice words.

The gown itself? Jade green. Oh, Bobbi's not done. Earrings, and makeup complete the set. Apparently, her employers let her get her hair done professionally, nails done, and professional makeup. See. See? S.H.I.E.L.D. do care about beauty. And killing folks.

Sweeping weeping in, Bobbi'sjoining them. She got guard detail. And it's not all bad. She nods to them and smiles. Strict orders. Keep her sass in check. Do /not/ tick off Wachanda. And no picking a fight with royalty or guards...

T'Challa has posed:
When Bobbi comes strolling into the embassy, the receptionist presses a small button under her desk, which alerts Okoye. Okoye gets out her own communicator, and presses a button on it. In the meeting room where Jean and T'Challa are, Okoye's image fades in as a full-body hologram. "Your Majesty, Miss Grey, you have company en route in the form of Agent Bobbi Morse."

She pauses, and then adds wryly. "If that is standard issue SHIELD," she comments, "...then we are in a steampunk novel and I demand a dragon to ride on." she says with a playful lift of her chin.

"Unlock the door for her, Okoye." T'Challa asks.

"As you wish, Your Highness." The door clicks and Okoye's hologram derezzes just as Bobbi arrives. "Good morning, Agent Morse." the Wakandan king offers in greetings. "You are ... interestingly dressed today. Was there a Reniassance faire I was not aware of that you got redirected from?" he asks curiously. He's dressed in his own Wakandan clothes, a tailored suit with hints of tribal markings along the collar and sleeves.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi looks amused at the question. "Well, no I came right here. I got given all this to wear" she says gesturing to her gown. "They wouldn't let me wear my suit. It's not becoming of visiting royalty" she says, the sarcasm so thick it could be cut with a brick. Looking over them both, Bobbi nods. "I'm sure there's agents back at HQ who are snickering at my clothes. If I'd gone to a renaissance faire, I'd have dressed much, much better" she says, with a nod, and lowers her gaze in deference to the king. Bobbi may be sassy, dangerous and a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent...but....she knows when to defer to royalty. She's royalty in her own right, a royal pain in the ass, so say people who hate her.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean gives Bobbi a wry expression at that, "You know, if that's standard issue for secret agents, I might have to reconsider my career path. Psychiatry seems a bit boring in comparison." She quirks a bit of a grin at Bobbi, "Jean Grey. Nice to meet you."

She then flickers a glance to T'Challa, using her telepathy, << Guessing you weren't expecting her. >> She then catches a flicker of surface thoughts from T'Challa, and can't help but smirk a bit, << In multiple respects, from the looks of it. >>

T'Challa has posed:
"I fear, Agent Morse... that someone has played a cruel trick upon you. We never had a Victorian phase in Wakanda." T'Challa offers in apology. Some poor SHIELD agent pulled a very very good prank on Bobbi. Sadly, once Bobbi catches him or her, we may never ever hear from this unspoken hero ever again.

A chuckle comes from T'Challa in a response to Jean's thought. "No, I had expected a SHIELD agent, they contacted me, much as you, after I made my announcement on Genosha. There is a thought that some... short-sighted people may take exception to my words as pro-mutant and attempt an attack. When in fact, it is more pro-all-of-humanity. It was not just mutants in Genosha, after all. If you would like, though Agent Morse, the Dora Milaje does have a wardrobe here if you would like to change?"

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi nods to T'challa. "Indeed. You know how we operate. I have something in mind for the unlucky agent however" she says, a gleam in her eyes. The freezer's mild in comparison to her wrath. Yeek, if anyone gets on her bad side....run, and pry she don't catch ya. Still she listens attentively, nodding. "I've been assigned to protect you" she says with a nod then smiles to Jean. "Well then. So you're the face that peeks out of the file" she nods. "Yes, I know who you are. You're an interesting one.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "That's me, Miss Interesting." She chuckles, and glances over at T'Challa, "Perks of royalty, being assigned protection from SHIELD and all that. Though, well, it //is// a nice dress, Agent Morse. I might have to talk to that agent before you throw him out of the airplane." Look, when you need to have a certain ruby-glassed mutant to notice you, sometimes you have to play dirty.

T'Challa has posed:
Chuckling softly, T'Challa glances at Jean. "Should I leave you two to discuss fashions? I'm not sure either of you would appreciate Wakandan dress." his voice is offered in a teasing manner as he reaches up and rubs the bridge of his nose. "I did tell SHIELD that despite my own training and skills as the Panther, and my royal guard, I would not want to stretch their resources..." he sighs.

"At least they honored the request of a female guard to better fit in with my own, especially if she is staying with us." Letting out a breath, he explains. "The Dora Milaje, the Adored Ones. They are each a daughter of one of the tribes of Wakanda. They are trained in the mountains in secret. Two daughters. One remains in the mountains, the other becomes a Dora Milaje. A royal guard, and should the need arise... they are to me to chose a Queen from." he explains. "Though that option has not been exercised in the last two geneations."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi watches, looking....just a little uneasy. "Wachanda dress?" she asks sounding a little worried. "I could wear it if I'm to ptorect you" she ndos. "Wait. I'm staying with you?" she asks looking to T'challa. "I wasn't briefed on that. But I am happy to stay here in a beautiful embassy with...."

She shuts her mouth. Uh uh. Not finishing that sentence! No just no, she's close to stepping in a world of trouble...

She spins to face Jean, "Oh I can tell you where I got this dress and the earrings. It's from Manhattan, there's a place near Central Park that sells dresses. The earrings are from several jewelry stores" Bobbi nod.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins over at Bobbi, "Well, I'd appreciate that store, just so I can pick that up on the way back." She hmms and looks over at T'Challa, "And well, I don't think I'd mind Wakandan dress that much. At least if what I've seen from the people here is accurate."

She grins, "Also, all female guards? I think I like Wakanda more as you describe it." She hmms, "Though, I'd hate to be keeping you from important business..."

T'Challa has posed:
"I do have a few things I need to tend to." T'Challa admits and chuckles. "If you would like a look at some of the outfits, I can...." he moves over to the computer. "Please end the program." he asks, and puts in some information. After a moment, the room shifts from the war room of the Wakandan palace to a boutique and a holographic representation of a woman comes up. "How may I help you, Your Majesty?"

"Agent Morse and Miss Grey are looking for an outfit. Can you please assist them with their design needs and measurements and fabricate what they wish. Within our parameters." The 'seamstress' pauses for a moment. "Level of protection?" she asks.

"Civilian. Perhaps formal wear if asked." T'Challa responds. Very little vibranium use. As he is setting that up, Okoye appears again. "You have another visitor. Well, not you, Your Majesty, all these beautiful women are not here to visit you today after all." the main guard offers teasingly. "There is a Miss Megan Gwynn looking for Miss Grey?" The main monitor comes up, showing the reception desk, where Pixie is.

T'Challa glances towards Jean. "I believe this meeting is out of sensitive range, if she is a friend of yours?" He's allowing the entrance.

"As for you, Agent Morse. You can stay with the other guards, if you want. As King of Wakanda, my hours are different, so you may be placed on call. Otherwise, it is your decision. After all. Only the Queen stays in the King's chambers." he points out.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
There is indeed a Pixie hanging about the main reception area, peeking at this and that. Hey, at least she's in her New Mutants uniform so she looks all official and stuff! And she's probably totally missing school..Or maybe she has a free period? Whatever the case, here she is, snooping around and stuff.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Once the fancy tech tricks are done, Bobbi comes out of the room with a form fitting Wacandan dress. She smiles and looks to Jean. "Oh no no. I wasn't going to take anyone skydiving" she says. Which is a coded way of saying nobody's being tossed out of a quinjet. "I was going to just sit them down and talk with them, that's all" she says. Descending the stairs to the reception, she spies a Pixie....and pulls up short. "Hey" she says with a smile. She eyes the uniform and smirks. Okay. Smirks more than her usual expression. Oh the irony of a Miss Grey upstairs. Bobbi nods. "You here on a field trip?" she asks. Oh she couldn't ever be a Wacandan guard. But...now she's here, away from the king. Her thoughts race. She feels like she's won the jackpot. Take /that/ Hawkins and Moris. Take that!

The earrings and gown are left for Jean to take if she likes, neatly folded up and just there. Bobbi won't need it again. And there's no tech to in it...

She does though need to talk to the king about things, mind. Problem is. He's....she's not sure how to put it, but he's not a bad looker, powerful, and dangerous. Plus, the whole panther motif is kinda sexy really. Cats are after all powerful and graceful and beautiful majestic creatures...that king too. Though she's wondering why Pixie's here.

"I thought school was in session?" she asks with a little confusion in her voice.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean hrms, and picked out a nice red and gold dress, with a decidedly avian theme. A bit unlike the cats, but well, she was the Phoenix after all. Even if she isn't at present.

Jean then grins as she comes down just after Bobbi, arching a brow towards Megan, "Well, Miss Gwynn, no classes today?" She tilts her head, looking a bit curious since, well, if it was an emergency one of the students wouldn't be here like that.

T'Challa has posed:
With the two women making their decisions, T'Challa takes the time to end the program. Poor Megan, no dress for her for skipping school. Following after the pair as he heads down to the meeting, he's no offer on the questioning of the young woman and smiles politely. "Good afternoon, I am T'Challa."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, peeking up at Jean Grey as she arrives, a hopeful look in her eyes. "Miss Grey! I'm so glad to see you! Umm.." She bites her lip then, looking down at her shifting feet. "Well, I did have a free period and I was really really worried when I heard about all the chaos going on in Genosha, cuz I have a couple of friends down there, see and I hadn't heard from them in a long while.." When T'challa comes in, she blinks and smiles a bit shyly. He's kinda..Cute! "Hii! Umm...I'm Megan..Umm nice to meet you, Mister..T'challa.."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi nods to T'challa and Jean, with a grin. "Keep the dress and earrings" she offers withh a nod, then to Pixie. "Ah, you're worried about Genosha?" she asks Pixie then looks to Jean. "You never really lose your students, do you?" she asks with a a smile. She's managing the Wacanda dress well enoughh...though in a way, she feels bad for Pixie not having one. Watching her, Bobbi looks Pixie up and down with a knowing nod. She's staying with the guards. Okay then, but Morse is also on call too if T'challa needs anything however.

T'Challa has posed:
"A pleasure to meet you, Miss Gwynn." T'Challa offers politely, a warm smile that touches his eyes and makes the dark irises twinkle in some private joke as he gives a brief cross of his arms over his chest in greeting. "Your wings are very colorful." he offers in way of a compliment of Pixie's bright appendages as he lowers his arm in thought. There's no denying his physique, even in this outfit. He is the Black Panther after all.

"I am sympathetic about your missing friends. The recovery mission has just begun and there are millions that are unaccounted for still. I have hope that perhaps the first estimates of death may not be as high as first projected."

He frowns slightly, but reaches out to place a warm hand on the young woman's upper arm. "You can leave the information with my liaison team. When we make contact with the remains of the Genoshian government, we can pass on the information for what can be reported official. But I ask you for patience. This will not be a swift process. It may take decades to locate all that are missing." They're still finding identifying remains from 9/11 after all.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins over at Megan, "Well, if you're free, that's fine then." She nods, "We'll be sending a group down there to look into things soon, don't worry." She doesn't mind saying that out loud, since... well, Bobbi and T'Challa know already, and Megan's in the school.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn bites her lip as she peers back at Jean and Bobbi's very beautiful attire. "Oooooh wooow, youre dresses are sooo pretty!" she's wandered around the embassy enough to realize that this is typical Wakandan attire. "Awwe, I wish I could get a dress like that too..." when T'Challa tries to comfort her, she blushes all the more. He's so..Polite, and handsome and very princely! "Umm, Thank you, Mister T'Challa, I really appreciate that." she nods, "OKay, I will do that then.."

Glancing over at Jean, she beams, breathing a sigh of relief. Yay, no detention for her! "Thank you, Miss Grey. I hope that I can be part of one of those teams, once the immediate danger is clear. I believe that my teleportation powers would be very helpful.." She may not be X-men yet, but she is on the cusp of graduating very soon..Plus, her uniform defines her as a New Mutant. Hopefully that will give her clearance once the most immediate threat is over.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi nods and edges a little closer to T'challa. She's still needing to work this whole 'guard the Black Panther' thing out. Like...it'd help if he lays down ground rules with her. Though she can get to her staves in this outfit. Hey, at a glance she'd pass for a Wakandan guard too.

"Thye are. Could she have one?" Bobbi asks. yay. Impulsiveness. Yay for all but asking the King of Wakanda....to get Pixie a dress. See. Seee. Bobbi can be nice.

T'Challa has posed:
"As I was saying to Jean, Megan..." T'Challa relaxes his hand as he lowers it from Megan in thought. "The fields of Wakanda are available for refueling and I will open the city to those that need to rest, as Wakanda is only three hours from Genosha by air, and it would prevent Jean and her team from having to go around the world each trip." he explains.

"Once I have spoken with the Genosha leadership, we will be able to offer more. But I do not want to step upon the remaining atonotomity of Genosha in this time of crisis. There will be plenty already that will be trying to force their opinion upon those that survived. This is a time of healing, not conquering."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean then adds on, "And I'm certain there isn't a problem with you having a dress. Is there?" She gives T'Challa a rather amused look, arching one brow towards him as...

Well, look, she's not adverse to using the fact that she is gorgeous, particularly in a sleek new Wakandan dress, to her advantage. And she does tilt her head just so in the direction of the King.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn beams at Bobbi, "Oooh, that would be cool!" she glances back at T'Challa, a bit pleadingly, "Could I...?" When he explains Wakanda's position in all of this, Megan seems a little relieved, nodding, "Thank you, Mister T'Challa, I really appreciate all that you are doing to help those poor people.."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Ouch, thrown under a bus by the cutest panther se's seen. "But it's more fun teasing a hot..." she shuts up.Oh. She said that out loud.

Erk. Great. Great. She's just...totally fngirling on T'challa so hard now. Oh no. But..."I could be on your side" she says batting her eyelashes at him. This is so not Bobbi. "Though" she muses stepping toward the King. "Better?" she teases more. There's a thought she's had, that's....not safe in any way, shape, or form.

T'Challa has posed:
There's an arch of a dark brow as T'Challa finds himself double, and then triple teamed. The Wakandan King looks from Jean to Megan and then Bobbi. "You're supposed to be on my side." he points out to the SHIELD agent assigned to him. Though the tone lacks any true heat. He's teasing her, before he shakes his head, surrendering. Because that head tilt from Jean is cheating. Totally.

"I suppose we could use the meeting room to bring back my seamstress." he finally relents in mock-surrender, a coy smile that tugs at the corners of his lips. "Just so you know, I did tell them you were here before they had their dresses done, or you'd met us there." Oh yeah. Bobbi. Jean. Met bus. Your driver is T'Challa. License plate: D-R-E-S-S.

"However. There is a price for this prize. I would like to know one fact about Wakanda that you know that is not from Wikipedia or recent news articles." Is he going to allow Jean to cheat and feed her an answer? Maybe. But he's curious as to how her school views Wakanda. If at all.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "Seems more than fair to me, T'Challa." She doesn't do anything for cheating, since well... she's pretty confident in Megan's abilities. The school is small enough she knows most of the students, particularly the older ones.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles and nods, "Thanks everyone! I look forward to seeing these Wakandan dresses. They look so pretty!" she glances at her watch and turns, "Umm, I guess I should head back to class then...Thanks again, Miss Grey!" she nods to Bobbi, "Sorry didnt catch your name but hopefully we can talk more later!" and with that, she's out the door, waving hurriedly to the others.

T'Challa has posed:
"I have things that I should attend to as well on the official front." T'Challa lets out a sigh of a breath and shakes his head. "Thank you for coming by Miss Grey. Please stop by again if you have any questions." he offers, and smiles towards Megan. "And I will be happy to have someone assist you with a Wakandan dress." Since it was asked nicely.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi nods. "Let me know where you need me" she says to T'challa. Oh that is a loded question, Morse.
Mostly since she gives him a sly smile. "I got your back and I'll go introduce myself to the guards and find where I am sleeping" she nods. it's a step up from the Triskelion, definitely. With that, she gives the panther a smirk and heads off back up the stairs, eager to find where she's sleeping. Animal magnetism....totally a thing!

Jean Grey has posed:
Megan gets a wry grin from Jean, "Come on, I'll walk you out. I should get back to the school anyway, and it'll be faster to go with you." She chuckles, while she is an Omega-level mutant... teleportation isn't one of her powers.
