Shayera Thal has posed:
Its one of those quiet days in metropolis. No big crimes today and nothing out boys in blue, although black these days, can't handle. It is one of those days that Shayera has off. Even member of the league know they can't be super heroes 24/7. So as the screen pans in to a small little shop in a out of the way corner of the city we find our Hawk Woman in her civilian around a table with four other people, one behind a GM screen with a map drawn up and little figures on the table and multi sided dice.
"Its your turn Shayera." Said the older gentleman with big beard and biker leathers. "The Wizard Morepork is getting ready to cast a spell."
Without to much thought she picks up her dice. "Well I am going to charge and try and hit him with my great axe while going into a rage."
"Role it."
Shayera gives the dice a bit of a shake and then tosses it. She grins. "Natural 20." The table erupts into some cheers as she picks up more dice and then rolls them onto the table, the clatter of plastic as she says. "So if I am right, this is a 2d12 for the greataxe and a extra 1d12 from brutal critial.."
Big Hank nods. "You are catching on quick.." She looks over the damage as she picks up a small ipad and look over her sheet. "So 27 damage.." One of the younger men with some acne goes. "Nice....And that is just the first attack>'

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Yes, compared to Gotham, Metropolis has a tendency to be quieter, all thanks to the Big Blue Boy Scout - and if it's quiet, then that's fine for Caleb. Gotham native, and thanks to the wonders of Hyperloop, he's able to go places and sell the stuff his mob boss tells him to without having to go through such harsh competition.

Now, the stuff he sold gone into the hands of others, he finds himself lured into his shop by his curiosity. As he gazes around, he finds the props, the replicas for LARPing, and approaches - being a tinkerer and a restorer, it's natural that he wants to have a look at the designs, after all. Maybe he'll make a few replicas if he finds himself inspired. (Hmm... Wonder how much some of these hardcore players would be willing to pay for these replicas?)

And, as he goes for the props, he finds Shayera, apparently playing and rolling a few dice for...?

He approaches, and looks at the board game title...

Shayera Thal has posed:
Do be mindful that the shop has a no weapons rules. So our local Hawk Woman is not carrying that power mace of hers, the wings are something she can't hide and while there are a few people who give her dirty looks because of a certain invasion of winged people, most of them are just chill right now. The owner seems to be fine, her money spends all the same.

Shayera nods as she picks up the dice and says, "Reckless of course."
"Of course." Says the DM.
More dice clattering as she consults her ipad and goes. "A 21..." The DM looks over his notes and they says, "After a smarting blow from your enchanted axe he raises his hand up and a shimmer barrier of blue energy deflects your second attack."
The geeks at the table go awwww and then then Big Hank kind of points over at the other at the table for them coming up on their turn.
Shayera kind of looks around the tables for a moment paying attention to the various turns. She doesn't notice Caleb yet, she isn't familiar with him in his civilian persona so she doesn't say anything.
THe table of course has various books from the player's handbook, dungeons master guide and of course the monster manual. Most of them however are using ipads for books and reference. It would seem Hawk Woman is playing dungeons of dragons and if one is paying attention she is playing a barbarian of all things. Mainly cause she identifies with the temper issues.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Oh, well - looks like there are no weapons or replicas, as he glimpses at a sign. At least, it was worth a try.

And, now that he saw the title, he glimpses at the participants...

And Caleb's eyes fall upon the redhead's wings. He's silent now, glancing. Memories flash in his head, of flying winged humanoids with maces and axes, swooping down to strike innocent people as they ran for their lives.

And he remembers how one came for his father and then baby sister.

And how he killed that same one.

Okay, back from the trip down memory lane, it's time to unclench his jaw. And observe. Right now, he's rooting for the wizard.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Hey that evil wizard has killed more fictional picture than she has. Big Hank runs through the people, got a monk, got a wizard, and a fighter in the party who roll through their actions with very little arguments on the rules, lot of haggling for extra actions. Finally it comes to the Evil Wizard and Big Hank gets his best authoritative tone. "Ok Ms. Barbarian since you hit the hardest and are right now in his face he is going to deal with you."

Consulting his ipad and making a couple of swipes he hit something on the ipad. "Alright, Shayera max a dexterity saving throw."

Shayera pause for a moment as she looks over her sheet, the ever helpful teen with a case of acne looks over at Shayera's pad and then helpfully points out her bonuses and a certain barbarian ability. But Shayera dfoes have to ask,

"Do I see the attack coming?"

Hank gives a nod. "Yeah danger sense should count."

Another two twenty sided dices and she rolls, she consults the numbers and then says. "Seventeen."

Big Hank takes a moment to pause for effect before saying, "As this sickly green ball of energy comes raising from the finger of the wizard Morepork....Your instincts kick in and you move at the last second, the beam hits the ground where you stand and nearly distingrates a hole where you once stood."

Shayera grins and pumps her fist and the table breaths a collective sigh of relief as the tension is cut. Hank points at Shayera. "Alright Ms Barbarian do your thing."

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb isn't really these sorts of games, even if he finds himself watching. And therefore, he doesn't really know the rules. Especially the golden one - no outside interference. And because he doesn't know those rules, he dares to ask, "Why don't you flank him?"

Shayera Thal has posed:
Big Hank is a patient guy and this isn't the first time he has fielded questions so he kind of lowers his aviators in that dramatic cool guy fashion. "Well flanking is a optional rule, I don't usually allow it at my table cause it leads to th--."

The door is kicked in and three people in ski masks holding small caliber pistols, glocks to be exact, with their leader yelling. "Alright Nerds! This is a robbery! Hand over your valuable and no one gets hurt."

Big Hank pauses in his speech. And then the four people at the table slowly remove their expensive electronics from the table and turn to Hawk Woman. Shayera sighs, "And it was my turn.." The table is hefted up and dice and figurines go clattering from it as the round table is thrown from the quiet little game corner towards the lead robber and is soon clobbered and buried under it.

The two remaining guns get pointed in that direction and then notice the winged woman. And hesitate. "Shit it is a meta human.."

Hank sits back down at his chair and asks, "This is what we call a failure on perception." Three of the people at the table laugh at the joke.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
'Okay, so much for quiet...', Caleb thinks. His muscles tense as reflex, that he moves into protection behind a counter. He reaches for the weapon he's got under his jacket, but decides against it - self-defense aside, he might be taken for an accomplice...

He can't help but sigh. 'How come I get into these messes, and I'm not even the perpetrator?'

Shayera Thal has posed:
Funny about that isn't it, the two men pointing gun at Shayera are rather distracted, so it is not out of the realm of possible for you to just bounce them on the back of the head.

Then again the might kill of Hawk Girl so that is a bounce. As for Shayera she is without her mace and just her enhanced alien physiology so that is something. The stand off continues as Hawk Woman glares them down waiting to see what they do first.

Of course not everyone who wears a costume can be a hero. While Hawk Woman is in this stand off, a regular plain cloths patron picks up a folding chair and comes up from behind one of the crooks and well clubs him with the chair.

The crook goes down and his partner spins on the man and before he can move to shoot Hawk Woman beats her wings to propel her forward and grabs the man gun hand and jerks it upward, with a loud bang the gun discharges into the ceiling and she wrestles it away before delivering a right hook and knocking him out.

Silence hangs in the air before she looks at the owner. "Better call the police...I'll stick around for a statement.." She says.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Well, one crook down, then the next... And the danger seems to be over. As such, Caleb gets up from the spot he hid himself in. "Huh. I wonder what they were coming here to steal." He looks around at the shop, "No offense, but it's not like you guys are the Fort Knox, or anything..."

Shayera Thal has posed:
The owner begins is in the middle of calling the cops as he looks over at Caleb. "Well you would be surprised." He does kind of take out a small binder of cards and open it. They look like trading cards. But when you look at the prices some of them sell for 50 or nearly 100 dollars not counting the ones that just retail for 5 or 10 a pop. There is money in collectible. Hawk Girl meanwhile sits down with Hank and the group. Hank thanks that is a good time to call it and is asking if they want to get some Chinese. Hawk Woman smiles and shakes her head. "Not tonight, gotta make a statement." Hank nods.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb Dykstra takes a look and he just... whistles. "You know, I stand corrected." He makes a mental note, in case anything comes his way from his Boss. He starts to head out, chuckling and dusting himself off, "Well I hope it was worth it, for these guys to get fifteen to twenty."
