Catching Up with Shayera

Location:	Diana's Office: Themysciran Embassy
Synopsis:	Diana and Shayera meet up to discuss Shay's return to Earth, return to the Justice League and what to expect.

Diana Prince has posed:
The embassy isn't very busy tonight. In fact the bulk of the appointments were done late this afternoon. thus when Shayera arrives, she's greeted in the foyer by a English woman named Greta. Greta is friendly, and happily escorting Shayera to Diana's office through the fancy embassy interior. Down the main hallway, and around the central courtyard, Greta leads Shay to a set of double doors that lead in to a smaller office in front of Diana's larger office beyond that. There the Princess is seated on the sofa with her legs crossed, dressed casually in a black suit with her legs crossed at the knees, and her phone held up to her right ear. Her dark hair is tied back, and the makeup on her face is light, but perfectly accentuating her natural facial features.

Greta garners Diana's attention, and soon the Princess is saying a few parting words to whomever she was talking to, and rising up from the sofa's edge to smile toward the newly arrived.

"Welcome... come in, please." She says in a happy tone of her naturally husky hued voice.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Shayera must of been gone awhile if the amazons have set up a embassy. Is not dressed in the Hawk Girl uniform she usually walks around in but in a white t-shirt that leaves room for her wings and a pair of jeans with practical foot ware. She doesn't wear much make up, never bothered much with it. She takes a moment to stare at the various people coming and going marveling at how things have changed since she has been awhile. She feels slightly undressed for an appointment with a old friend.

"Hello Diana. You most certainly have been busy since I was gone. How is life as an ambassador treating you?"

Hawk Girl extends her hand for a shake, hoping to at least renew some old friendship she hade with the League before having to deal with things on the Home World.

Diana's history with the Justice League was an interesting one. She was with it when it was formed in 2012, but she did not become a public super hero until Superman's apparent demise at the massive battle in 2017. It was then that Diana became publicly known as Wonder Woman, and it was there after that she joined the Avengers when the JLA went on hiatus for the next three years. In 2020, when Superman returned, the Justice League followed, and with it Diana ramped her participation back up within it, publicly now, and with the Themysciran Embassy in full swing. Thus, she's happy to see Shay, and happy to shake her hand.

"It is very good to see you." She says in a sincere tone, a warm tone. When they part hands, Diana motions to the small kitchenette in the front corner of her office. "Would you like something to drink?" She asks. "We have many options, much of everything you could desire, I believe." She says, holding her smile for the winged woman. "I am well, I should say, and you appear to be also? I hope."

Time lines are funny aren't they, never know whose is inheriting whose memories or past. She glances to the kitchen, she wouldn't mind something to drink so she just asks for something simple. "Yes, please. A coca-cola if you got it." She is rather fond of that particular earth beverage and the slight sugar rush it brings. Shayera's posture goes slightly rigid, much like a soldier at attention. "I am well. Only recently returned to earth and was wanting to return as a active member of the league."

She has been out of contact with earth and what has happened on it for a couple of years and is hoping Diana can shed some light on recent events. "What all has happened since I've been away? I finally managed to get assigned to earth as part of the diplomatic core, trying to improve the image of Thangar after they tried to invade."

Diana's red hued lips maintain a smile after the drink order is placed, she steps over to the kitchen with a few steps and listens as she prepares them both a beverage. There is a snap hiss and she's pouring a half can of coke in to a glass, then laying some ice in to it from the glass container the ice resides within. "Well... that is hard to sum up in-short." The Princess states, as she turns back to face Shayera, and walks to her, holding a cup of tea for herself, and a glass of Coke for her guest. She offers it to her before she takes a seat back at that leather sofa in the sitting area, remaining just on its edge.

"But... there have been a number of situations involving aliens to this world. The Shi'ar most prominently. There have been a number of world related issues as well, from your average governmental squabbles to unusual magical manifestations. But... I can say, on a personal level, my own project has been the creation of, and opening of, the Earth's first surface-based Starport. We opened it out in the Atlantic ocean this past year, and built it as a joint effort between the Themyscirans, Wakandans and the Atlanteans. With so many connections to interstellar contacts coming in these days, it seemed prudent to have a Starport for them to arrive at Earth within. It has had its own challenges, but we have risen up to them, thus far." She smiles again to Shay.

Shayera relaxes when the beverage enters her hand, she takes a sip from it as the bubbles tickle her nose a bit causing it to wiggle. "Part of the reason I was dispatched was to help with the interest on the planet. And yes I believe it is about time earth work to becoming a galactic power. Lord knows it gets invaded or targeted by space fairing civilizations."

Hawk Woman continues to stand but more at ease as she think about it. "Part of the reason why I wish to rejoin the league, if I'm allowed. I like to help do some good while I am working here. I am a much better soldier than I am a paper pusher." Not that she hasn't done her fair share of paperwork, her reports when she was apaart of the league were written like a standard after action report for those who bothered to read them.

"Has earth had any luck in building a working space ship?"

Diana Prince has posed:
After a sip of her tea, Diana holds the glass between her hands over her lap, she sits with good posture on the edge of that sofa, her attention fully on Shay. "Of course you are welcome back in to the Justice League." She tells her. "In fact you were never locked out of any of it. You are welcome at the Hall of Justice in Metropolis, the Watchtower on the surface of the Moon, and wherever else the League may acquire an operation base." She states smoothly, flashing a little grin before the question of Earth and starships garners a nod from her.

"There are a number of projects regarding such. There is a lot happening in the civilian space agency field, including an international joint effort to begin the construction of a Lunar Colony on the surface of the Moon, not too far from where the Watchtower is. A space station in orbit of the Moon is well underway in production as well... So, yes, quite a lot has been happening to push Mankind in to the stars. We will be eager to have more support with that too. I trust things back home are in a good place?" She asks then of Shay's homeworld.

A visible wash of relief appears over Shayera when you tell her she is still part of the League. A smile appearing on her face and a nod of the head. "Thank you, as much as I liked seeing my home world, I've come to think of Earth and the Justice League as my home an family." She raises the glass to her lip and takes a drink, trying to savor the carbonated drink before she looks at you.

"I think man kind is ready to voyage to the stars." She holds the cup in one hand and lets her finger circle the rim of the glass as she thinks for a moment. "The earth has alot to offer and I honestly think it would be good."

"So what is the word on the rest of the league, how are the other members? You would be the first one I have managed to contact here."

Diana Prince has posed:
"I agree." Diana says quietly with a smile touching her expression when it comes to Earth traversing the stars. "From Earth, to the Moon, and beyond..."

She draws in a breath then, and holds the tea cup in her right hand then as her left just gently touches it with fingertips alone. "The rest of the League, well... they stay busy in their own ways. We do not reside as closely knit as some of Earth's other teams of mighty protectors, but we do come together when needs arise. Many will show up any time they're called upon. You can always find a few up on the Watchtower too, as it is a nice retreat from some of the hustle, and bustle, of life down here..."

A breath is taken in then as Diana nods once toward Shayera. "I trust you still have living arrangements setup here on Earth? If not, I can certainly help you get setup again, here in New York or perhaps Metropolis?"

Shayera Thal has posed:
Living arrangements would be nice, she is still getting settled in on the planet and has been staying at a embassy. She frowns a bit when you say the league is not as close as it used to be. She does like the companionship that she had with the team.

"Living quarters would be nice, I have been staying at the New York Embassy for now but I wouldn't mind helping out with your embassy either. I don't mind staying at the water tower but I prefer to stay on earth, I am currently pursuing a case myself. A convoy was targeted sometime ago.." She takes out a small Thanagarian data device and it pulls out a bio of the Vulture. "This criminal, known as the Vulture, stole something out of the convoy and got away before i could pursue. I'm doing a follow up investigation of the convoy before it was attacked.." She puts the device away. "So I'm staying busy."

Diana Prince has posed:
"Well, I will see what I can come up with for you." Diana says as she puts her drink down on a coaster on the table in front of the sofa. She stands up then and starts to step over to her desk just to the east of the seating area. Moving around it, Diana continues to listen to Shay's words. "Captain America was involved in that, was he not?" She asks. "Black Panther too?" Apparently she's familiar with the situation that Shay is referring to.

Once she has her phone set down on her desk, she regards her tablet computer and picks it up. "All of that seemed quite harrowing, I'm glad that you were there to help..." She says, on her way back to the sofa then. "If I can help with any of it, just let me know." She tells her as she settles back down on the sofa's edge, and then offers another faint smile.

"Have you gotten setup with a phone, or League communicator yet?" She inquires, assuming not. "I will have one sent to where you are currently staying..."

Shayera Thal has posed:
Captain American and Black Panther. Shayera makes note of those name and tries to place the folks. "I believe the guy in the red white and blue with the shield would be captain America. I'm not sure which one Black Panther was. There was quiet a showing of supers to help prevent casualties and keep the body count from escalating." She takes out her tablet, the alien one, then taps on it and small digital hawk flies from it, does a loop, then hits your tablet and you get her after action report of it. "I stayed to give the police a statement and assist with clean up."

Ah yes, phone. She reaches into her jeans and pulls out what looks to be a droid. "Let me give you my number." She sways her digits with you and then pauses. "No I've not got a communicator yet, I only just arrived.." She puts her phone away, mind you it is in a otterbox because protection for those expensive pieces of equipment. She also pulls out a small card and give it to you, it has her current address at the Thangarian embassy in New York.

Diana Prince has posed:
The transfer of information is well received, Diana glancing over the card as she then looks to the tablet. "Black Panther is King T'Chala, he is a member of the Avengers, but an ally with the Justice League. I fully recommend that you get a chance to meet with him. The King of Wakanda... a very influential voice within the world's geo-political landscape these days." She tells Shay with a quick smile.

"Well, I will have a Justice League 'return package' sent to your current address, and you will be fully back with us." She tells her friend, showing the winged woman a playful little grin.

"It is good to see you too. It is always nice to have a strong ally, and a good friend, return home."

Shayera Thal has posed:
Wow a King? Then again Diana is a Princess so it takes all types to be a super hero. "I'll try and arrange a meeting with him then.." She takes a moment to breath a sigh before smiling. "It felt so much easier back in the day, beat up the bag guy and file a report." She brushes some of her crimson hair a bit. "Now I'm having to play diplomate and actually work -REALLY- hard to control my temper.."

Yeah she was known for being a hot head back in the day but she seems to have mellowed, a little bit. "Thank you for all you have done Diana, it is really good to see you again."

Diana Prince has posed:
"Of course." Diana says back to Shay then. "Besides. You write the best after action reports of any of the League's members." She says with a much larger grin visible for the other woman.

The tablet is set down on her table then beside her cup of tea, and Diana gathers the tea up again in her hands.

"Would you like a tour of the Embassy?" She asks then. "When you left, we had not established Themyscira as a publicly known society. Things have.. changed, with regard to that." She holds another little warm smile then.

That is something she is curious about. Hawk Woman was interested in the amazon culture, after all they produced fine warriors.

Shayera smiles and gives a nod of her head. "I would like to take a tour. How is the island doing? You been able to go back?"
