Lifting a Weight Off Emma's Shoulders
Date of Scene: 14 February 2023
Location: Recreation Room
Synopsis: Discussions about food. A very slow game of chase.
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Sharon Smith, Tabitha Smith

Emma Frost has posed:
It's sometime in the afternoon over at the Mansion. Emma Frost is currently sitting over at one of the chairs in the room, a laptop out in front of her as she goes over various quarterly reviews from different departments of Frost Industries. Occasionally working over at filing her nails down to fine points. Having just gotten the invite to the Hellfire Club Valentines, she was idly preparing for how she might start to go about on her 'discussion' upon her arrival.

And skimming down over various financials and things related to the Spaceport on the side.. Oh, with their lovely interstellar Shi'Ar friends up to things, of course they were going to need so many replacements..

Sharon Smith has posed:
A small black cat snuck up behind Emma. Her four, soft paws indistinguishable from silence as they carried her small, black furred frame across the empty space. Emma would eventually get that familiar, uncomfortable feeling of small, sharp claws digging through her clothes as the small cat clambered up to take up a temporary home on her shoulder.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
A different blonde woman is making her wat into the rec room. Unlike Emma Tabitha Smith is not quite as burdened with resposibility. No where near as much responsibility really since she mostly spends her days helping kids with chores that erally should be hers. Or just doing the whole X-Men thing.

Luckily she's not doing any of that so she can kick back and chill till the next round. Dressed in old ripped but dark blue Levi's and a cropped yellow Xavier's hoodie. yellow belt, collar, and wrist cuffs in spiky leather accessorising while red uggboots are on her feet fighting the cold weather when she inevitably has to go back to her dorm in the student housing facility.

Seeing a cat pounce Emma gets a chuckle and a huge grin. "Not even Colossus could stop pointy claws digging in." she points out rather amused as she adjusts the red tinted glasses sitting on her nose.

Emma Frost has posed:
And as Emma is going to flip through one of the screens on her laptop, her shoulder has a visitor. She would muse over, and then reach up to stroke over along the cat's head, knuckles going in to rub over ehr ears. "Why hello there darling. Did you have a good night? And did you have any more adventures while exploring?" Had the laundry room been raided again by the adventurous one?

Turning over to glance at Tabitha, Emma would give a nod, "Miss Smith, this is Catseye." Emma would continue to rub along Catseye and scritch her over the chin. "If she's given you the privilege of it, of course." Because a cat was going to cat.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith allowed the petting, at least for the moment. She spun in a slow circle, which allowed for a a more even petting, and offered the light prickle of sharp claws to dig against Emma's skin a bit more before finally relinquishing them. The cat sprawling lazily over her shoulder as she offered a very stereotypical purring sound.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha keeps her smile playfull and drags a beanbag chair closer to the pair while they're engaged in feline pets and snuggles. "I think I heard that name. One of  Marie's friends?"she states and hmms. Though the keeps the smile.

"I thought she'd be a bigger kitteh. But then I'm probably too used to Wolfsbane when she's in a pupper mood." she adds with more playfulness.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would laugh softly and move to lean back, "Perhaps." She would lean over and continue to rub her hand up and over to stroke Catseye behind the ears. "She's her own thing. Why doesn't she have to be anything else than it?" She would keep up the scritchings, leaving room over for Tabitha to keep rubbing.

"And nothign quite that. She came to the school a couple of years ago and has settled in well."

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith allowed the petting for only a fleeting moment. There was something about Tabitha's words or presence that prompted her out of her comfortable trance and caused her to lift her head. Emma would feel a weight on her shoulder (Literally, not figuratively). The weight and cat slowly grew until there was barely enough room for any of her to remain on the woman's shoulder other than a single massive forepaws. "Would it be weird if I ate you right now?" she asked as she slowly shifted into a more human like figure. She still had the same black fur and pointy ears, but it was far a less intimidating form than the massive panther she'd briefly become. She released Emma's shoulder to settle at her feet instead. Sharon didn't have much of a talent for comedic delivery, but she didn't seem serious about her 'whimsical' threat of cannibalism. It was either a joke, or wild, morbid speculation.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
The shifting gets a chuckle and more hmms as Catseye posits a question about about eating. "It depends on the given value of eating." the unexploding bombshell winks back. "But being that kids come though here, any kind is totes gonna be weird and someone gonna get yelled at. Probably me. Even if I'm catfood!" she points out.

Tabitha can at least roll with a joke when it comes up. "So you settling in, you are living here?" she sasks curiously and freety welcomingly. The place is a home for all mutants that wish it after all.

They let Tabby stay after all.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm, "She's fast food, dear. It's all fat an dwill go right over to your stomach and you'll be queasy." A light nudge is given to Tabitha. "And it's not nice to play with your food." A light, teasing chide given to Sharon over at her feet. Going to keep up with the stroking.

"And yes, Ms. Smith does have a rather positive view of the world. She's one of the studetns from here that's graduated and gone on to make her own path in the world." Continuing to stroke over while listening to Tabby.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith tilted her head lightly to speculate where she lived. "Here and there." she vocalized the philosophy of all non-housecats and probably most of housecats. "You don't see me?" she asked Tabitha, a sense of pride in her voice at not being noticeable. In fairness, it's easy to overlook a small black cat as a pet. Whatever human, hybrid thing she'd become now was far more noticeable, but previously rare to see around the school.

She leaned back against Emma's knees, still accepting the idle petting. "Fast food?" she asked with interest. A spark lighting behind her blue eyes. Luckily, it was only an imaginative daydream, since she didn't immediately leap up to start chasing Tabby around the room.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabby not one to let the occasional shot go unfired gets her grin aimed back at Emma. "At least I'm all natural and organic incredients, More than some of us!" she teases back. Tabby only ever lied about dying her hair.

There's more smiles aimed to catseye though. "I don't need to see you. I'm a telepath. And we've got a few people with normal non shifting animals as companions, so like seeing a cat, there's plenty of cats around. Dogs, we've got horses. A donkey. Best ass in the school1" Girl gotta rep her boy Jerome Badonk Smith.

"So most critters go about their biz and stuff. It's a challenge to not give scritches and stuff but they probably don't all appreciated being constantly bugs for pets either." she states. "But I'll totally keep my peepers out now. I may even being burgers and fries." she adds.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm over at Sharon, "Yes, you are quite the sneaky one, aren't you darling?" Hand pulling back over then to withdraw, and then go to stroke her hair a few more times and then slide up and over. TOne musing and amused.

"I suppose that you could always try and meet. Though I'm no tsure how well that would go." Emma would deadpan over while going bcak to stroking Catseye as she was allowed. "She does however respond rather well to treats if you find something she likes. She's particular to cookies."

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith lifted a hand to cup her chin, a clawed finger prodding her black, furred cheek. "You don't look like burger and fries" she said, purposefully misunderstanding her words. She lounged back comfortably against Emma's legs, her black frame sinking slowly lower, almost out of reach of the hand that tried to pet at her. "I am quite sneaky" she proudly agreed, closing her eyes as she lounged. "I like fish." she stereotypically added to the list. "I will take bribes." she made sure to point out, not that there seemed much worth bribing her over right that moment.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"Emma are you talking to Catseye about me or the opposite?" Tabitha half jokes. "Double chock chip." she points out and grins. "And being sneaky is actually a handy skill. I save it for when I need to be. Or the folks here would put a bell on me." Tabby was a thief as a kid after all.

She just prefers to be upfront more oftebn than not. When your power set clashes against your skill set.

"We do sometimes have fish in Breakstone lake. When it's not too cold to hit the water. But we can always make sure there's some stocked in the kitchen fridges." she adds. Notes made of successfull bribes.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would grin, "Yes. I'm sure that you'll be set for life if you bring her something that she adores. Of course, she reserves the right to change her mind whatever it is at any point. And the risks of fast food is that it can sometimes get away faster than you can chase it."

She would glance over at Tabitha, "Or you could just some sushi delivered. I'm sure that would work just as well if you don't feel like cooking." She would chuckle. "Or do you want to have it fresh from the lake?" She would muse down to Sharon, casually rubbing over at her ear.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith 's descent continued, her black frame slowly sinking down until she sprawled out on the floor like a human-shaped rug of black fur. She gave a light huff as her journey to the floor came to an end. "I know there are fish in the lake," stated the all-knowing cat mutant. "I will remember to find you a bell." she added all too seriously... or maybe it was her form of comedy. It was hard to tell with her always serious tone of voice.

Her blue eyes opened to look up at Emma from between her feet. "You don't cook sushi." she informed her. Surprisingly, Sharon knew about sushi. Despite her seemingly feral mind, she seemed to pick up on a number of odd subjects.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
There's a beep from her phone and the blonde girl is grabbing to check it. "Okay, looks like I gotta haul down to the Salem mall and pick up some kids. "I'll bring back some sashimi bentos if I have time. No rice and seaweed to get in the way Catseye." she beams as she lifts her behind out of the beanbag and makes her exit down to the garage.

Emma Frost has posed:
Of course Sharon would pick up things on food. Particularly fish. She was an intelligent thing. As Catseye would go on about fish, Emma would smile and laugh. "Yes, yes they are darling. I'm sure that you can if you want get some of the others here to provide you with fish. You can be very, very good at giving instructions when you wish to and having them obeyed." Fingers going to keep up scritchings over with a lazy arc as Tabitha would leave.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith stared up at her hand, making the gesture of clawing at the air as though catching invisible fish from the sky. "Very good at giving instructions" she parroted with a sense of introspection in her voice. She smirked as much as she could given her half-feral face, pointing her curled claws at Emma. "Belly rubs," she demanded, as though casting a spell, knowing her supine frame was mostly out of reach.

Emma Frost has posed:
Well, now this was a command over. Emma Frost would muse, idly. "If you insist on such a thing. However, you'll have to move for it." Emma would go to casually first take up her arm to stretch, folding her laptop shut and sliding it over on her lap. Then going to lean over and move to, inch by inch, take her hand on down to start to rub it over Sharon's ears, and then down.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith 's knees slowly bent, dragging her supine frame ever so slightly out of reach. She waited until the perfect moment of interrupting Emma's work before starting the slowest, most awkward game of chase the school had ever seen. Sharon couldn't help but breaking into a fitful snicker at the ridiculous game.

Emma Frost has posed:
OH yes, she knew this would come. Ah well. The sorts of things she had to do to engage over with the students. Oh yes. SHe would give Catseye a light glare, and then go to stretch over as she would move to instead lightly kick out with her foot playfully. "YOu are very, very insistent Catseye. I suppose those of us that haven't been properly trained have to learn toa ccept our places in the grand scheme of things."

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith rolled blissfully away from the kicking foot. She was caught up in a near silent fit of laughter, which only let out a few snickers and hisses. She sat up to give Emma an endearing grin. Her toothy expression was only mildly frightening compared to one from a human face, mostly due to the pointy teeth encased in her mouth. She didn't say anything in reply. Instead, she shrank into the form of a small black cat that darted away.
