Date of Scene: 26 February 2023
Location: The Coffee Bean
Synopsis: Coffee and conversation is had by all!
Cast of Characters: Shayera Thal, Franklin Richards

Shayera Thal has posed:
Shayera Thal is wearing her casual clothing for a change, she still has her belt but has left her hawk helmet at home and is sitting at a small booth in the coffee shop with a little laptop and a pair of headphones. The only thing that gives her away is that she has actual hawk like wings. She seems to be holding her cup of coffee as she watches what looks to be a spooky videos, creepypasta as they are called. Some get a chuckle, some just get her to shake her head as she sips her coffee.

A waitress comes by and then waves a hand in front of her to get her attention. She removes the headphones after pausing the video and she looks up with a smile. "Yes?" The waitress smiles and asks, "Can I get you anything...Hawk Woman right?" Shayera nods her head. "Just Shayera please. Yes could I get a scone?" The waitress nods and walks off.

Franklin Richards has posed:
There is a sound outside as Vans strart pulling up on the other side of the street outside of the Coffee house. There are no armed men in these vans, as they are way out of shape to be any threat in combat. No these were photographers, and they had lost their target for now as they scan the air for the floating Franklin. As they search the door opens, and a young man that most would reconise as Franklin Richards actually in his Fantastic Four outfit quietly looking down he shuts the door behind him.

His eyes glance around as some here might even reconise him, but he had to get away from those people as they had been following him since he made that helicopter dissapear. He sighs a bit to himself, and walks to the counnter taking one of the open chairs looking down still as the lady approaches him. "Coffee black, please.." and smiles a bit at her looking up for just a moment. He started to think about what the heck he was going to do to get out of here as he knew it was a matter of time before they found him again.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Ah the paparazzi, they love to follow around supers and upcoming supers and as always the love to give badness and smear campaigns. Trust me Shayera can tell stories about the Invasion and if she is just a under cover agent. Those days are gone. She looks up and takes notes Franklin in the costume, she at least keeps a ear to her ground about supers and groups. o O (Fantastic Four.) Still she doesn't recognize Franklin as a super hero she has noted. Still even heroes need coffee and food so she doesn't think to much about it. She at least give him a nod of respect as she puts her headphones back on and turns her video about 'If you hear a bell in this forest. Run. Run in big bold letters.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Being reconised not just as Franklin, but a repeat customer the lady gives him a cup of coffee not asking who he was, or why he dressed in such wierd clothing, she just gives him an eye as he chuckles a bit with a nod. "Thank-You" telling her, as he gives her the money. He sips on it, and it was nice and strong as that sure got the mind spinning. He holds a finger up, and snaps looking around a bit and sighs, the waitress looks at him as to ask if he had just snapped at her, and with an an embarased wave he assures her it was not so.

To himself he says, "What is going on.." and snaps again the drinks of everyone suddenly freezing as Franklin looks down with a "Oops.." stoping that for now as that was not the result he was looking for. With a sigh, he holds up a hand for another drink, as he tucks his head down incase anyone realised it was him that just froze their drink.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Shayera reaches for that coffee cup and tries to take a drink only to pause for a moment when hot liquid doesn't hit her throat. She examines the contents of her cup and notes the frozen liquid and then frowns. She didn't hear the snap, didn't see it either cause she was watching her video. But she is pretty smart, so after pausing her video she takes off her head phone and looks over at Franklin with a slightly good natured smile. "Still getting the hang of your powers their buddy.." She raises the coffee cup and shakes it a little bit before sitting down. The waitress sits the scone in front of Shayera as she notes the cup and then giggles a bit. Apparently this isn't the first time so she just says she'll get her a fresh cup. Shayera thanks the waitress a she smirks at Franklin.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin looks up at Shayera, "It's.. I used a lot at once so things get a little out of wack." he looks at the waitress, and nods to her. "I will cover the new drinks." and sighs a bit as it was his fault after all so was only trying to make it right. He smiled and nodded to the waitress, and was glad he still knew some places with some good people before he turned back standing up, and walking over to Shayera noticing the wings but not really sure what that ment.

He holds a hand out, "Franklin Richards." he offers, though adds.. "Just try not to tell those guys outside alright?" and chuckles a bit. "Sorry about that.. I will try not to use them any more, but I am trying to turn back invisable." he sighs a bit. "It shouldn't be doing this, but sometimes I think they have a mind of their own." and grins a bit at that, though realises he might be over sharing again like his sister always says he does. What can he say he just trusted people, and didn't see them generally as bad as she did at times.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Hawk Woman shakes the mans hand with a smile. "Shayera Thal, I'm only Hawk Woman when I am on duty." She motions for you to sit down across from her. She then saves a report she was filing with the Justice League of America and then closes the small notebook and pushes it aside. "Sometimes the best way to be invisible is not wear the costume. And sometimes glasses don't hurt either, work for a friend of mine." The new cup of coffee arrives and she reaches over and add some cream and sugar, not being the type to take it just black. She sips the coffee and then asks, "So how long you been a cape?" Using the street slang for super hero. Also it was used in City of Heroes too and well, she used to play the game.

Franklin Richards has posed:
He smiles, "Shayera Thal... That is an interesting name where is that from?" he asks curiously as Hawk woman was surprisingly easy to put together. She must also be a fellow worker as she had the nickname and everything though he hatted his so always just went by Franklin. He looks down a bit and nods, "Yes, well I usually wear this under my clothes, and I was a bit too close to an exploding rocket." he explains, "My mother, Sue Richards is the Invisable Woman, and I also have her skills with the shields, but it doesn't seem to be working." he sighs, and also gets a cup he just holds it and looks at it. "Though how long is hard to explain... Always?" he offers with a smile, and a shrug.

He takes a sip and enjoys the black coffee looking at her. "Born into it, never known anything else.. How bout yourself? I bet it must be hard to hide with wings.. Though it must be nice being able to fly without lifting yourself each time."

Sure he floated in the air, but that was TK not actually flying. It was always an effort, and he thought it might be a bit freeing to actually glide on the winds instead.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Shayera arches her eyebrow for a moment, "Well it is Thangarian to be honest. I'm one of the many aliens living in New York, I am a diplomatic envoy from Thangar to help improve relation with Thanagar after the invasion. I figured the best way I could help was be a super hero and just kind of fell into it.." She sips her coffee after having sweetened it enough to off set the bitter taste. She sits the coffee cup down and then nods her head, "Family business I see. And yeah the wings are a dead give away at who I am. I know some of the Hawk family has wings they can hide. "And its nice to fly, but the wings are a obvious target point if someone has fire or ice or a way to disable them.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin thought about that, Thangarian. As his powers sometimes lead him to space though he doubt he has been there. With a shake of his head and a shrug, he smiles a bit. "So you know what it is like out there? I mean off planet." he says quietly looking at his cup again quiet for a moment as while earth had its super heros, it was way back in relative power to a lot of empires out there. Honestly sometimes Franklin wondered how more did not invade or at least try to.

Finally looking up again he nods, "Well still it sounds like a nice name." he admits, as he had heard way worse, and at least it was unique. With another sip he glances out the window at the guys arguing by the van, and smiles. "Ah the invasion... right. Well welcome to Earth, we are not all as bad as the standard New Yorker." and chuckles a bit as he gets a "Hey!" from the waitress with a smile. Shaking his head franklin looks at the wings a bit. "Have you ever thought about a covering? It would have to be light, but I have seen such magic that could do it." he thinks about the, self described Witch lady, he has ran into a couple times now not to mention some others.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Well funny you should mention that. She pushes a hawk symbol on her belt and then from her harness metal begins to slide out and clink into place over her wings, forming a flexible and durable layer of nth metal over them and giving them almost mecha eagle look. "We did. We learned early on that we have to protect our wings as damage to them will hinder our ability to fly." She knows the Hawk Woman fan sight and some of the interviews she has done had brought up the metal that Thangarians use, peopple even recovered this after the invasion. "Thanagar has nth metal on it, we use it for anti gravity that allows us to float hover or if we use or wings achieve amazing speeds and protect us from the heat build up and friction of those high speeds." She flexes the wing a bit drawing it out kind of like one of those angels you would see in all those religious pictures.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Fraklin chuckles, and looks at the metal, "Of course... alien.. Alien tech." he nods at it, "I have heard great things about Nth Metal though I have never seen it in person." he admits with a smile. "Truely facinating, though I doubt your people whould share a precious gift so I will hold on to my requests." and chuckles a bit as he considers all the stuff he could make with a metal like that being an inventor as well. Though he had learned to work with the restrictions of earth's technology kept him here so was happy to work withing its limits.

Franklin thinks about it, "Have you ever heard about a place called Nowhere while you were out there?" he had reciently returned from space himself though it was pretty far out there. He grins a bit, "Recently I have had to go out there, but space is truely vast so I thought I would just check."

With a smile Franklin did like meeting up with Aliens, as they were not from Earth so none of this was shocking, or really out of place, though that is if they were not sent here as a baby. Who would ever just send a baby here though I mean that would be crazy. With a chuckle he nods though saying a bit outloud, "I have met Angels.. they are not all they are made out to be." he shakes his head a bit at that. "Though I don't mean to step on any theological feet here."

Shayera Thal has posed:
Hawk Woman tilts her head back and thinks for a moment. "Well. Space is a fast place, but I used to be friends with Green Lantern and when we weren't using javelins to get around he would fly us in his power ring. And while Nth metal can protect us from extreme temperatures the vacuum of space is alot different. While I trust Green Lantern with my life there is always that little bit of fear that this bubble is the only thing protecting me from that void." She takes a sip of her coffee and thinks about it. "I always like a good story, tell me about Nowhere. I've visited some strange planet. Also we recently had to deal with a recent alien incursion. We are looking into a civilization that has been taken over by a fantatical cult.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin nods, and chuckles as he tries to imagine flying through space surrounded by just a bubble of as far as he knew light. It was truely fascinating that someone could do that. "I see... Yes, that would be harrowing. I tend to Fold space, so there is no traveling." he shrugs a bit, but continues. "I could not imagine traveling like that. Though I bet he is used to it as Green Lanterns must come and go so often." he smiles a bit as the getting lost in the void of space was a valid worry so he did not doubt it.

Franklin rubs his chin thinking, and looks at her. "Well I think it is actually Knowhere excuse me, there is a difference!" and grins as he explains know other then No. "Anyway, it isn't much a story. Some fragment of another reality had fallen into ours, and I had to go to this big floating head in space to find it!" he grined a bit at that. Sure he didn't actually see it since he was on it not in space, but it still counted darn it! "Supposedly it is lawless, but there is this talking dog from russia up there that is enforcing the rules." he says again in a low voice as is letting her in on a secret. Though he smiles, "And she loves bacon. Apperently." nodding to give that time to sink in.

He then hears about another alien incursion, and he eyes her. "You know about that? I thought they were supposed to be cloaked?" then is quiet again as he didn't want to give too much away. They had just learned about Hydra he didn't want to add worry to thier already busy schedule.

Shayera Thal has posed:
Shayera Thal taps her cup of coffee, she moves her hand in a small circular pattern to slosh the liquid a bit and get a feel for how much coffee she has left. She might need a refill soon so she sits it down and then thinks. "Well to be honest, they were pursuing another ship. The ships was Kalanarians, they were once peaceful agrarian race until some took over and whipped them into fanatics." She looks down at the cup and thinks for a moment as how much she should reveal. She decides to withhold the information about the artifact.

"They were a bunch of zealots that were pursuing a non-believer and decided to use downtown Metropolis for their shoot out. We managed to drive off the attackers but one went in for a kamikazi. I think some of the tech gangs scavanged some of the remains of the ships before we could do clean up."

She is reminded of another case, "If you wish to study Nth metal we are pursuing a artifact that was stolen from a museum. Provided Hawk Man doesn't squirrel it away when we find it you can take a look at it. The thing is a old ship part that the ancient Eygptian added some boneyard bling too.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin chuckles, "I want to get a spaceship of my own to be honest." he eyes around a little with a grin. "I have been practicing working with cards, and was going to go back to no-where and get me some credits." though he chuckles a bit. "But perhaps I shouldn't if I get risked getting chased by a Green Lantern, and a Hawk Lady!" he lightly jokes. To be honest it was his own little pipe dream to be on the bridge of a space-ship, and unlike some could possibly make it happen though it would not be easy. He didn't ask much about the Fanatics but nodded "There are a lot of vulnerable folks out there as well though I am glad they are getting help." he sighs a bit with a shrug, "I wish I could get out there sometimes, and help them, but one planet is enough unless I spread myself too thin." he nods just having to face the facts sometimes.

Though he stops silently he listens to the shoot-out, and just nods and smiles as he was glad to know she did not actually know about the other invasion. For now he could not share that with her as he wasn't time. Though he thinks about how to answer her last statement, and thinks about this he falls into silence again.

After a moment he starts, "I am sorry I think you may of missunderstood me. I do not require to study it to help." he smiles a bit "I would be happy to help in the search how I can though this might just mean keeping an eye out for anything ancient Egyptian in my travels as I am not the best detective that is out there." he chuckles a bit, "Though if you need my assistance you have but to ask I try to help wherever I can."

Shayera Thal has posed:
Space ships, yeah they are impressive vehicles but she is used to the javelins that are employed by Justice League. She always thought they should of arm the things, but they insisted that they shouldn't because of them wanting to remain a peace keeping force and not a military. "Well any help would be welcomed. Believe it or not we actually had it stolen by ninjas and broad daylight." She sighs softly, "Not our proudest moment.." She drains her cup of coffee and then picks up her little scone and takes a bite out of it and chews it calmly.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin smiles, and nods. "Of course! And if your friend does not mind I will be happy to take a look at it after, but I get it with people wanting to keep some things to themselves. All of you and your secrets I tell you." and chuckles a bit at his joke though he had his own secrets though that was for a different reason. He tilts his head a bit, "Yes ninjas.. I wonder." he thinks about that for a moment. "I figure if their are still ninjas in this day in age they must be very good." he grins a bit, "For the same reason you don't underestimate the old man in a dangerous job." though he doesn't fully explain it from there

As he brings his cup up to drink from it something wierd happends, and as he apperently leaves normal sight the cup for a moment does to though as it passes a field and put back down it appears again. Not realising it Franklin's voice comes from the now empty chair across from you. "Did they have any marks, if they were ninjas maybe they have like a house or something?"

Shayera Thal has posed:
Shayera Thal nods. "He is interested in getting this ancient Thangarian ship up and running again. The thing is an antique of old technology and stuff we stopped using ages ago. But it is important to him so I don't mind at least humoring him and helping him try and get it back in working order." She motions for her coffee to be refilled and then takes another bite out of the pastry. "Well to be honest I thought ninja was a thinking that just existed in bad action flicks and kids cartoons.." As her get a refill she then looks at you curiously. "So what is your ideal space ship?

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin nods, and smiles even though he was invisable not knowing, though some sound different depending on the face expression, "I don't know why, but I think I get it. Your friend sounds like a reasonable person working on something like that." he shakes his head a bit with a shrug, "Maybe it is the engineer in me."and chuckles considering what he would do in the same spot, and came up with generally the same answer. He considers a bit on her last question, he does give a slight wave for a refill as well though again no-way the waitress would be able to see it.

"And about a spaceship... I don't know. I know it has to have a bridge, and well... levels. Definetly large enough for a crew, and some space to walk around on" he shakes his head, "I know it sounds silly, but there are so many it is hard to narrow it down. Though something like that would be expensive. A blaster is like a thousand credits anymore." and shakes his head at that. "Ninjas are real unfortunetly. Do not underestimate them as their hand to hand is good. Sure they are usually only human, but still in enough numbers they can be an issue."

Shayera Thal has posed:
Shayera Thal chuckles a bit. "Well ships kind of new certain parts. I am not familiar with slime space however, what the heck is that? Sounds kind of disgusting to be honest and rather messy." She finishes her scone and then picks up her cup of coffee and then takes a drink. She takes a moment to glance over at the window and notices the reporters have gone by now, apparently having given up trying to follow the hero and then she lightly motions to the window. "The reporters are gone.."

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin nods, and sighs a bit as it was time to go. Moving out he never appears even though he is standing right next to the table, or at least that is where the voice is coming from. "Right.. Well time for me to go. Good luck with that ship Shayera. and your invasion." he smiles a bit at that with a nod, a refrence to the invasion she mentioned earlier, "You maybe an Envoy, but you fit well in this place." he chuckles, "Well maybe not chairs in general though."

He gives a wave, and though no-one opens it the door opens, and he gives a final wave hopefully he will realise he is invisable sooner or later as he leaves the coffee house again.
