Synopsis: A small next of vampires unfortunately learn they are not alpha predators and just leave a mess behind.
Cast of Characters: Mercy Thompson, Susan Sullivan, Eddie Brock, Caleb Dykstra

Mercy Thompson has posed:
THe sun is setting as an unassuming car parks about a block away and a lean woman with dark braids gets out and checks a few things in a bag. She pauses to look off annoyed at her side. Seemingly she's mad at the air near her. Taking out her phone she places a call, or at least seems to, as she begins to walk toward the edge of the grounds, coming from downwind for those who pay attention to such things.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan's vehicle is...NOT subtle. It's not the Demona-mobile, it's Gloria. It looks like something out of a scifi that takes place on Mars. It parks and the woman is already masked when she hops out the back of it. That's definitely the thing Mercy chose not to help her create. It's...yeah, that thing's not a car any normal mechanic would know how to work on.
Demona locks up the back and only door and spins her staff as she walks toward Mercy. There's vampires around, and in the dark, it's unwise to be unprepared. Heck, even if you know somebody, they might be a vampire. Susan approaches Mercy like she's a vampire until proven otherwise.

Eddie Brock has posed:
"No, you don't call her two hours later, that's crazy. You call a day or two later," Eddie says loudly into the night as he cruises towards the cemetery on an early 2000's Triumph with a matte black body.

   <<Venom>> "We are hungry now."

"You literally just ate!"

<<Venom>> "Vampires are like candy shower puffs. So much flavour. Not filling. We want more!"

"Candy shower... Candy floss, dumbass!" Eddie mutters. He pulls his bike to the curb a bit up the street, leaves the helmet and walks towards the cemetery. He catches a glimpse of Mercy and slows his roll, observing.

"Just wait for the vampires at least, okay?" Eddie grumbles. "But they're yours. They're all yours."

.

Eddie turns sharply as if arguing with someone behind him. "Are you fucking serious right now?"

From a short distance, Eddie is a man arguing with the air. His hair is a tousled mess, he has three days of stubble and his faded leather jacket looks... Well loved.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Deep amid some thicker bush and scrub of the older part of the cemetery around a mausoleum and been going after some of the late night youths or unfortunates that wander too close and alone. One of those is the recently deceased Yon Jarlson, a tall fit young man who is busy yelling at the only woman who can hear him. Mercy however is distracted by the 'car' that just pulled up and more so by the masked woman who is walking up to her. "I want my money back, private eye didn't tell me anything." She huffs silently to herself and shifts her stance to a relaxed and ready stance, the bag shifted to her left shoulder. "Be quiet," she snaps the ghost.
She then calls out to Demona, "Hello again. Not sure if the mask is really useful with so distinct a car that you drove in public." Her head tilts some as she hears the approach of a motorcycle she doesn't know about either. "This is my luck isn't it." She sees her phone light up, looks at it and sees that her friend isn't showing up. "Yep. That's my luck alright." She subtly turns toward the sound of Eddie's voice and says, "So... what's up," she asks the general area." All three of those arriving so far have not seen any vampires, but the smell of blood is in the air.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Vampires are up," Demona says. "Not really in the mood to try to breathe nasty things." She looks toward Eddie as he arrives. A smile reaches her eyes as she turns back to look at Mercy. "I brought some help. Also...who are you talking to? Something unholy?" She thumps her staff down in front of herself. It appears to be made of iron with silver holy symbology etched into it like a grandmaster's magnum opus from the middle ages. "I can make it go away," she points out.

Eddie Brock has posed:
"Oh... Hey," Eddie says when Demona greets him. He focuses on his surroundings, seems more present. "Yeah, that's a nice... Moon lander?" he gestures towards Demona's ride. Eddie looks at Mercy. "Hi, I'm a... acquaintance of..."

<<Venom>> "He is annoying! He is ruining the mood"

"Would you shut up?!" Eddie suddenly yells at the tall young man yelling. "Seriously. I'm in a graveyard, at night, and you're... Why are we in a graveyard again? I mean. That seems really on point. Is that part of their cover?" he asks, suddenly turning his attention back to Mercy and Susan.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Okay, whoever thought a Cemetery at night was a good place for a drug buy really needs to get their brain pans checked. Sure, it's quiet and secluded. But /holy shit/ is it creepy quiet and secluded! Plus, not any signs of life for yards and yards (heh, one for the pun jar) but yourself and your clients. But /holy shit/, do you come to prefer there were signs of life!

But, the transaction a success, he walks down the path in the cover of trees with a slight smile on his face. Easiest sell ever!

He snaps his head as it looks like he hear a sound off in the distance. An owl comes flying above the trees, the animal's eyes coming to rest on Caleb.

He sighs and chuckles, stance going more relaxed; he steps backwards... And his foot hits a stone, which causes him to fall. Down a hill that is known to be a little steep. And there he comes, tumbling down, and cursing his luck. Also miraculously missing any gravestone, but the noise he makes could wake up the dead!

(And that would be another for the pun jar, if he weren't so tied up right now.)

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy is pocketing her cell as she switches it to silent and no vibrate, "Don't do that." She says to Susan about calling something she doesn't know 'unholy' even as she eyes that silver staff cautiously. "I was mostly talking to myself, and can promise you I am not 'unholy' never mind I only find zealots using that word casually."
Then there is the wrong smell from Eddie and the two voices, "Great act, and really off putting too. Take it you two are friends or something?" Nodding from Eddie to Susan. "Look I got gossip that there was some not nice things in the park and trouble going down. Tried to call a friend and thought I would sniff around some. Looks like I got stood up as it were."
The night is often full of sounds, it rarely goes full silent. Be it frog song, crickets, the rustle of a dry branch from a squirrel or mouse on the trees and ground. A sound not usually heard is the tumbling roll of a body going down a hill. Most wouldn't be able to recognize that sound, but it stands out to those with sharper senses and paying attention. It's the sound of trouble. The sound of prey. It draws the attention from the ghoulish vampires in their crypt hideout as they begin to step out. Thinking they just got delivery for another meal. Even as poor Yon's body is still in the corner from last night. Mercy turns her head quick at the sound and sighs. Then her eyes flick to that empty spot. "I know!" Then just shakes her head after another quick look at Susan and Eddie. She's quicker then she looks as she turns for the fence at the cemetery's edge and uses it to help vault over it. "Please don't be dead," she whispers under her breath.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Sounds loud enough to wake the dead are noticeable by the living, or at least by Susan. Turning toward the noise, she says, "That one's not one of mine." She spins her staff once, readying it in a martial arts stance. "Big guy, I didn't get your name, but if you smell any vampires, feel free to chow down, okay?" Demona doesn't have night vision or anything of the sort, so Susan is having to use all her senses to pinpoint any dangers. Smell, though, doesn't factor into things with that gas mask on.

Eddie Brock has posed:
<<Venom>> "We will not eat this one, she feeds us. But you..."

"Just... don't" Eddie says, eyes unfocused. They snap back to the moment suddenly. "...worry. I've, he's got it. And there she goes."

Eddie shrugs to Demona. "Guess we're going that way." Eddie starts running after Mercy, but slower. When she disappears from sight it happens. The ooze envelopes him and vastly increases his size. The teeth close over his face, then the long tongue snakes out. He crouches, leaps into the air, and lands on top of the mausoleum in one jump.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Arriving at the bottom of the hill, he collects himself. "Motherf...", he contains as he dusts himself off. Nothing broken but his pride.

He takes his hand up to his coat pocket, and sighs in relief as he finds it still there. Weah, you don't want to lose this money, Caleb.

He straightens himself, sore all over now. "Still luck of the Irish, all things considered. Could've been a lot worse..." He looks at the gravestones. "Could've ended up dead, no offense to you guys!" Yes, how he's still alive is a matter of sheer dumb luck, by now.

And as he's thanking for being still alive, he finds there are people coming his way. "Ffff... Spoke too soon, I jinxed it, didn't I?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
People may be a generous term for those drawing closer to Caleb. Their thin lips stretched over sharp fang filled teeth stained brown and read. Forming a foul smelling rictus grin of the macabre. Their clothes are little more the tatters and torn remnants of a former life that cling to them. This is not Hollywood where they hiss and snarl. That's for the movies. No there's just a widening of eyes as they spy prey and as one they begin to rise from the shadow, surging for Caleb.
Kra-BOOM the silence shatters from a gunshot as Mercy has pulled a large calibers pistol out and the slug of silver tears the bottom jaw off of one. The creature hardly slowing down however. "GET UP and run this way stupid!" She's already drawing aim as she fires off two more fast shots. One misses the other striking the leg of a second vampire. "Dead boy maybe get out of the way huh?," course she's talking to Yon the ghost, but maybe it is also at Caleb. "Su.... Mask keep that stick away from me." She can hear two others coming up behind her, and one sounds a lot bigger then Eddie was when her back turned. "Please tell me he's really with you." She doesn't want to be in the middle of a cross fire. Not once does Mercy stop running as she tries to get to Caleb and is just covering the ground a bit too fast for a normal girl. "Come on kid!"

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan is decently fast. The most important thing is that she's a martial artist in good control of her body with the ability to, for short periods, ignore biological niggles like pain. She vaults over the fence with her staff like a pole vaulter, but isn't really sure how to 'keep it away' from Mercy. "We only just met this evening!" she says through the speakers in the mask as she closes distance to the vampires. "But he called, so it's looking hopeful." She draws a chain from around her neck as she runs, a prayer in latin echoing out as she tries to keep up with the various faster people in the scene.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Venom laughs. He jumps off the top of the mausoleum and lands behind one of the undead. He grabs it with one massive, black clawed hand.

"Come here..." Venom starts, but his tone shifts from excited to aggravated. "Disgusting. We do not want to eat this!!!"

Venom palms the head of the thing he caught and rips it clean off. He tosses the head and body in opposite directions, then looks over his shoulder at Demona. "We do not like these ones!" he growls.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
There's really no need for Mercy to tell Caleb to bolt away from the undead, because he's hitting it fast before she's finished talking. "What the fuck is this, 'Dawn of the Dead'??" Which is a good thing that he's so light on his feet, since a vampire just misses a good old-fashioned bearhug by less than an inch.

Now, there's one thing that serves Caleb the dumbass teen, and that is whenever he finds himself in a tight spot and pulls through, he learns from his mistakes and takes something with him for when the occasion calls for it.

And, during a trip to the Hospital where he faced the Hand alongside Daredevil (long story), he got away with a katana. A katana that he took for cases of self-defense - just like this one.

The sound of moanings and growlings just behind him call upon his reflexes, and he pulls his sword from under his coat and swings away as he spins mid-air. "Get back, freak!"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Things are happening quickly. You got a panicked young teen with a sword, a monstrous alien popping heads and not liking the PEZ flavor, a silver staff wielding gas mask woman, and Mercy standing there with a bit of a 'da faq' expression as she sees all this happening at once. She is not going to get near the sword and Caleb, "Just bolt man," she points. "That's the way to safety." Even as she looks around and fires off two more shots at the knee joins of the vampires. They may not feel pain but it's hard to walk and lunge when your body has no support. She gets distracted just as one of the vamps lunges at her, the claws of its hands slashing her left arm. Causing her to hiss in pain. "Damn it Yon. Can't you see I am busy!?" The ghost apparently trying to insist she find his body in the crypt near by the vampires all came out off. She grabs a branch that snapped in the fight and pulls up a stake. Using the opportunity to stab the one that clawed her. "Cops are gonna be here real soon with this much noise."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Dude," Demona says at the dismemberment, mostly because she very much wants not to get covered in that ichor spraying from the...whatever these things are. Skidding to a stop near Venom, she looks around. Her next thought is disjointed from the first. "Yeah, something's different about these guys. Take me out for pizza, next time, huh?"
Susan swings her staff in front of her, giving it a spin like Darth Maul before picking the run back up toward one of the other creatures. She brings her silver and iron clad rod to bear against another of the monstrous...pseudo-people. They could be vampires, for sure, but if they were, they were weaker and more feral and kinda grosser than the ones she was used to dealing with.

Eddie Brock has posed:
"We do not like pizza."

<<Eddie>> "You. You don't like pizza. I love pizza".

"We like tastier things..." Venom's gaze wanders to Caleb and Mercy. His tongue writhes and he drools. One of the undead attacks from the other direction and a pseudopod splurges out of Venom's back and crunches through its torso.

   <<Eddie>> "No! You can't eat /them/ they're fighting vampires."

"Fine," Venom grumbles out loud, disappointed. "But we are still hungry."

With a flick of the tendril the impaled undead is brought close enough for a swipe from Venom's claws to trisect its head.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb runs away from the area, katana in hand. Once he finds a safe place - okay, safer place to be -, which be near Mercy, he gathers his thoughts, "Okay, what the flying fuck is this?" And that's when he spots Venom, "Well, at least that one's on our side..." He looks at Mercy, "Lady, I could really use some quick lessons on the supernatural, right now. So how do we kill these things?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy looks around and is reloading her gun trying to ignore the gash on her arm. "Well those two seem to be on a messed up double date or something. You fell, more literal then figuratively, into a nest of some kind of undead. As a rule, you try to not draw a predator's attention and leave. Don't run. Walk. Running invites chasing." She does her best to back up and lead Caleb away. "Also get some real fighting lessons if you're going to carry a sword. I could take that thing from you and slice you before you blinked." She will do what she can get them out of there. "Hey big guy. There's a dead body in the crypt. Make sure the cops find it will you? Don't take any bites. I'll give you a haunch of raw venison when I can. Raw and wriggling as they say." She can recognize a carnivore when she sees ones.
With this all taken care off and Venom and Demona making short work of the few 'vampires' left Mercy nods over her shoulder. "Let's get out of her. Watch the ground in front of you and keep moving until you're under street lights." Her hand firm on his back as they make for the fence and back to the 'safe' and 'normal' world. Such as it is.
The violence and action is dying out, undying it out? Whatever. It's going quiet save for the distant sound of sirens beginning to draw closer.
