You Can't Hide Your Birthday Forever, Cat
Date of Scene: 28 March 2023
Location: Hera's Haven Taverna
Synopsis: It started as a birthday party and ended in a proposal. Nothing ever goes quite as you expect it around here!
Cast of Characters: Donna Troy, Gar Logan, Rachel Roth, Diana Prince, Terry O'Neil, Alura In-Ze, Caitlin Fairchild, Kaida Connolly, Kara Danvers, Bart Allen

Donna Troy has posed:
It's Terry's birthday! In fact the first birthday party that Terry has had with the Titans, because for reasons of Terry-ness, he has been trying to avoid letting people know his birthday. A certain amount of prompting and a simple application of the formidable Titans computers determined the date, possibly with the aid of Gar having taken a peek at Terry's driving license. Gar had passed on to Donna the fact that what Terry really wanted was a party on Themyscira, so it had been arranged.

While bringing the boys to Themyscira is still a slightly touchy subject, the fact that they had helped to save Themyscira in the past and have been here before without setting fire to things or making the place smell too much means that it's at least kind of acceptable. It took a little arranging but nothing too drastic. Part of the solution involved hiring out the Hera's Haven taverna for the day as a party venue, which makes things more acceptable to those Amazons who are still suspicious of the presence of men on the island. They don't have to look.

When the group arrives, the first thing that greets them is the delicious smells of food. Clearly the kitchens have been working hard. There's a large open coal grill with skewers of marinated meat hanging next to it ready to be cooked on demand, and a table mounted high with Themyciran pastries and cakes, as well as a variety of cold meats and cheeses for those with a more savory idea of party foods. A more than plentiful supply of wine bottles awaits those who want to partake, alongside jugs of water for watering down those wines that are best served that way, and a range of fruit drinks for those who'd prefer no alcohol at all.

A large banner is hung from one wall, reading "Happy Birthday Terry" in English, and something in Themyciran which probably says the same.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar is guilty as charged. Last year, he realized when Terry's birthday was by, yes, seeing the guy's driver license. Further, for various reasons Terry had indeed tried to keep it hidden from everyone else. That was allowed to stand for only so long, especially after Colette passed word to him that Terry really wanted to celebrate it on Lesbian Island...her words. That is, Themyscira.

So, the favorite metamorph of the team stepped in to help make it happen somehow. There might have been promises that he'd make sure Terry didn't do anything more embarrassing than usual.

He's already there in Hera's Haven, quite a neat place to him in its own right. This would be cool. Oh, and he's there dressed in a white chiton with a bit of red in it. A pair of leather bracers for flavor, and sandals to fit. He almost looks like he fits in with the whole Greek motif. "Should be here any time," he says to those nearby. "And he'd better not be late. I'm hungry."

Some things never change.

Rachel Roth has posed:
Raven is here. She has already imbibed a perhaps sincerely concerning amount of wine, and yet, seems none for the wear. Whether she is okay with continuing to be sober or not, is entirely unclear. What /is/ clear is that she has not abided by any sort of dress code other than Come As You Are- as she has arrived in her typical attire.

A curious detail, as she mulls about near the outskirts of the room, is that she holds beneath one arm a small box, not much larger than a single book. It is delicately wrapped in black and purple, the same hues as her clothing and eyes, respectively.

Casually taking in small sips of her latest glass, the Titan waits. There is a birthday to be had, and she is here to provide Terry with one to remember. The others simply have to arrive.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana was on the island, not just for this, but for less pleasant reasons. She had some sisters to bring home, who had not survived the attack on the Atlantic Starport. The Invisible Jet had gone straight to the palace, where the Royal Guard had met her to tend to the situation. Then, Diana had to speak to her mother in regards to it all. Thus, she was running a bit behind to be here and now, for much happier thoughts, reasons, and welcome celebration.

Diana's voice is called out on the street, as some of the local women see the Princess, and receive a smile and a wave from her as she makes her way to where she knows the party to be being held.

Dressed in a short white dress, a dark leather bodice cinched over a sleeveless pale blue tunic, and her hair tied back in a few braids, with loose dark curls cascading down her back, Diana strides through a side garden, the sun shining down upon her as her sandal covered feet carry her across a cobblestone pathway, then up and over the bridge that spans the little waterway, beside the waterfall. She approaches the taverna's outdoor area, and now moves beneath the archways toward its interior, smiling to those who she already can see within the place, her eyes quickly taking in the scenery, and the big happy birthday banner already strung up.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Birthdays are a strange thing at the O'Neil household. Because Agatha is who she is, and *how* she is, birthdays are a thing that are acknowledged, and where a special meal is cooked or baked, but it is seldom a thing out of which much fuss is made about. Terry and Agatha would usually go out bowling, or would go to see a movie, or such things, but Terry seldom, if ever, had friends over or much less a party. Terry didn't really have that many friends, beng the weird probably-gay kid in a Catholic school. Which probably explains the secret desire to have a birthday on a Pagan island full of lesbian and bisexual super-women.

"He should be along soon," Agatha O'Neil agrees with Gar, "Unless he's having second thoughts. He sometimes gets cold feet." Her red hair is arranged in an appropriate style, up with ringlets falling on her shoulders. She is wearing a white peplos, and a red himarion worn over over the left shoulder and under the right. "We usually don't hold parties..." she confides.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
There's no such thing as merely rest and relaxation on Themyscira for Alura. Nope - when she's here she's inevitably drawn in to yet more training. She likes that; though recovering from the Dark Elf attack meant she was off her game, slower than she has been previously.

Her complexion has returned though and much of her vigor for life. There's a real chance she died up in space when that dark elf spaceship reactor exploded and she has questions for Kal-El about that. But ultimately, she's alive and fine and that's all that matters.

The hubbub today though is Titan's are holding a birthday party for one of their own here on Themyscira. Her daughter is a Titan which means, odds are, she'll get to hang out with her and watch how she interacts with her friends.

With the weapons cleaned and stowed away, Alura gave Orthia a hug and a hand to her shoulder. "I just don't know what it is about the leg sweep. You get me everytime," she laughs and the Amazonian warrioress replies back. "Yes but you're next to impossible to hit with the spear tip now Alura In-Ze."

And so Alura changed back in a simple white chiton with sandles and wandered down the streets of Themyscira to the entertainment district in the hopes of seeing her daughter. It was very evident exactly where the party was being held and she fell in line with Diana. It's not like she doesn't know a few other Titans too - she travelled through time with Donna and Caitlin after all.

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
Themyscira might not love the idea of men on the island, but Caitlin's been almost universally accepted by the women of the island. She enters the tavern carrying two large barrels, one full of wine, the other of mead, like they're five-gallon jugs. Laughter chases the redhead in. Like the others, she's adopted a short-skirted tunic with Grecian sandals, and these she hasn't even sewn up into a more modest romper. Progress?

Caitlin sets the barrels down in the corner and walks up to Diana, her face entirely pink and blushing. "Chara told me that joke about the swimmer and the two fish, and I couldn't figure out the answer, and now I'd like to know if I can just go live forever in some tiny deserted cabin on the far side of the island," she whispers at Diana.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Currently, Kaida is near the side of the party with two of her friends form Themyscira. One is the one who helped forge her sword and shield, the other is someone she sparred with. It's kind of a strange thing, no matter where you are, to see an anthromorphic mouse girl wielding a sword and shield. She had really many options to train with when she first came here.

"You should have seen their faces!" She laughs and wields her sword against a phantom foe, "So, there were three of them and the first one just leaned down and laughed at me!" She points her blade toward one of the Amazons in a casual waving manner, "The nerve! I planted my sword right into the table then and there, casually took of my shield and decided not a one of them deserved it and then I..." And she blurs into a burst of speed and hits the wall with a solid thump, a flying sidekick landing her on the wall before she leaps off and bounces on to the woman's shoulder and smirks.

"And with his friend slammed into the wall, I landed on another robber's shoulder just like this and he stared at his friend and hten looked over at me. I know his brain was trying to process but I didn't give him time as I broke his jaw!" She nods her head and crosses her arms, "Ran from one shoulder to the other in a-" And she moves with amazing speed to the Amazon's other shoulder, "-quick burst and he grabbed his mouth while falling. The third guy..." She falls over on the woman's shoulder laughing, "Wet himself!"

Kara Danvers has posed:
We can do this. It's only four scenes in one day. That's rookie numbers.

Kara can't miss her friends birthday, especially not if it's held on Themyscira. That's like saying 'nah, I'm too tired to go to Disney World today. How about we watch Riverdale instead'. You know who has ever said that? Literally nobody that watched past season 2.

Dressed the part, she's here wearing appropriate clothing for the setting! A metal bikini top, toga clothe wrap, and big dang'on horn full of ale! Asgardian Mead can suck it. Meandering around rubbing elbows with some of her favorite people in all of existance! A bubbly monster, this one. Bouncing around, wiggling her hips to, hopefully some poppin lute music. Because these is her folk! Also, her mom is here, and there is never a bad time for mom time.

"Okay, you know what this mouth needs?" pointing at it, both hands, one of them with a finger extending from her horn of wine, "Some wieners. Where's the wiener table." Peering around. Maybe she's had a bit too much to drink? Maybe it's just what you get when you thrust her into a gathering. Either way, mistakes are bound to happen!

No shame, no Themyscira jail.

Besides, its Terry's birthday. How can she not turn up a little?

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is gathering herself up a goblet of wine when Caitlin appears beside her. She looks over to the redhead, hearing her words, and smiles instantly. A hand is placed upon the back of Caitlin's nearest arm, and Diana offers it a light squeeze. "You can move in to my old tree house. I beleive it could use some more cleaning though." She affords the tall woman a big grin before her eyes sweep across the room to where Terry is with his mother. She offers him a light wave of her free hand, followed by a mouthed-out 'Happy Birthday', tagged along with a very happy facial expression for the beloved young man.

Kara calling out for weiners in her mouth does garner Diana's attention, and she too looks upon the Kryptonian's most sunny girl with a big grin. "I see that Kara has been having a good time so far." The Princess softly says, before she indulges in her own first drink from her cup.

Donna Troy has posed:
There may be something to what Agatha said about cold feet, because as the Rabbit Hole opens up and Terry steps through it into the Taverna, he does so with a slight hop, as if he has ben given a push. The source of this push is close behind in the form of Donna. "Happy Birthday, Terry!" she announces loudly enough to make sure everyone's aware of the birthday boy's arrival, as she enters.

While many have made an effort to dress up in Themyscira - appropriate gear, Donna's perversely dressed in a much more American fashion, the black leather pants she favors when motorbiking about the place and a deep blue blouse. "He's here!" she announces. "Finally. I hope you've all left some of the food and booze for us!"

She gives an amused smirk in the direction of Kara, raises an eyebrow questioningly towards Raven, then wanders over to where Diana and Caitlin stand, giving Caitlin a little shoulder-bump as she arrives. "Everything all set up and ready?" she asks. "No last minute hitches, no protests from Hellene's lot?"

Gar Logan has posed:
"I'll be sure to find him and drag him in if he's having second thoughts," Gar says to Agatha, and a moment later there's an "Ah.." that follows. His attention had briefly been split by watching Kaida's energetic way of describing her adventures, but when the rabbit hole opens up he gets a brief thought in regard to when he was able to make those himself, his grin Cheshire-like in its own right.

He steps forward to help welcome him in. "I can't really say 'surprise,' but you had to know we weren't going to let you turning twenty-one go unnoticed," he says, reaching out for a hug. "So you're gonna have a good time, or else."

Alura In-Ze has posed:
"It's customary to give a gift.." Alura remarks mostly to herself and then lifts up her left arm with the Kryptonian bracer upon it. Holograms come to life above it as she twiddles her fingers through its interface and after a short moment a small crystal emerges like a usb thumb key - though not anywhere near as simple.

She gives it a toss in her hand flipping it over a few times as her holographic interface turns back off and she smiles. Her eyes fall upon her daughter and her declaration for weiners.

She walks over to her and wraps her daughter in a hug. "/inah/ how much have you had to drink hm?" A gentle kiss is placed on her forehead. She smiles as the birthday boy appears and joins in the celebratory call, "Happy Birthday. And to another revolution about Sol."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Okay there's a lot of judgement. Kara isn't THAT drunk. So she's had a few horns of wine. Who hasn't? Who hasn't come this lovely island of lovely people and indulged in the ample supply of lovely beverages? No, Kara will accept no judgement on her level of intoxication. She's earned this. This is fair.

Except from her mom...

Her mom totally gets to cast judgement if she wants.

With a little tension in her shoulders, Kara's eyes go saucer wide at Alura's voice creeping up on her! 'How much has she had to drink?' "Ahhh Jeju!" She spins, splashing a little wine on her arm and envelops Alura in a hug! "Hey! Not much... just a few sips. Wieners are hotdogs. It's just a really fun mouth-feel to say wiener." Nothing untowards here.

Then she beams a smile, hearing that Vorpal, the birthday boi, has arrived! "Ay Happy birthday!" She motions up at her mother's hand, with the crystal she's summoned, "Look at this lovely gift from both of us!"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry gives Gar a hug back, and a peck on the cheek. "Fine, fiiiine," the cat is dressed to blend in-- as if he would dress otherwise being here-- and he laughs. "I have to admit it's kind of intimidating-- Hey everybody!" He grins as he spots Kara and gives her a wave- and there's Cailtin and Diana, and...

There's Raven in the corner, over there. He gives her a wave and a grin and wonders briefly if more bubbles are in store when Alura approaches him.

"Oh, thank you! Thank you for coming! I hope it wasn't too much of an imposition..." there he goes.

Agatha sips her wine and raises her eyebrows, glancing at Troia. "So how many times did he 'forget' something?"

Terry's eyes widen glancing at the crystal when Kara motions to Alura's hand, "Oh wow, that is beautiful!" he says, apprecitavely- his friend Nick taught him to appreciate crystalline formations and sculptures, "Where does it come from?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"And that's when I..." Her ear twitches and she spins on the shoulder she has taken and blinks as she spots Terry, "Hold that thought!" She says and she's suddenly lept clear of her perch, hit the ground and is rushing off with speed right toward Terry, she leaps again and lands on his shoulder like a balerina. Literally. She does a little single toe spin and everything.

"Happy birthday!" She declares and then she leaps away just as quickly as she arrived and lands on a table nearby before grinning at everyone that is here before bouncing from one foot to the other foot casually as she waits her turn in the crowd, having already jumped the line cause well, she's tiny.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana lowers her cup of wine down as Donna approaches where she and Caitlin are. She lets the two of them speak for a moment before she smiles to her sister. "I am glad you managed to coax him in to coming here for this special birthday." She tells Donna. "Hopefully we can get him to stay for awhile, and enjoy the island, along with everyone else."

She glances over to see others greeting Terry, and she steps around behind Caitlin to stand on Donna's other side, leaning toward her similarly-designed sister. Diana whispers something to Donna, keeping it soft and just between the two of them.

When she finishes, she notices Kaida, and offers a smile, and wave to the tiny one, hoping to catch Kai's attention with the little gesture of greeting.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
"I just constructed it now - it's a holographic projection device that will show you the galactic map as it was known by a massive space empire from another timeline," Alura explains as Kara takes partial credit for the gift idea. She gives her daughter a small side eye glance but hands it over to Terry.

"Press fingers on either side of the crystal to project the map in front of you. Tap with a finger to point at a place of interest and twist to zoom in and out. There's over 70 billion mapped stars in the database and hundreds of thousands of worlds."

She smiles and looks back to her daughter. "I've never heard of weiners or hotdogs. You'll have to introduce them to me some time Kara." She's always up for trying more strange Earth foods. Recommendations from her daughter are especially cherished.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"... oh wow..." Terry take the crystal with some reverence and briefly presses the crystal as instructed in order to project the map. "-oh wow," he repeats. Then, a small Rabbit Hole appears, showing an empty space on his shelf that's right next to a VERY FAMILIAR cloak, if Diana is paying any attention at his shenanigans. He carefully deposits the crystal in the empty space, and closes the Rabbit Hole. "-to make sure it stays safe, since I think Gar intends to get me legally drunk today and I might get clumsy. But thank you, Alura and Kara, it is lovely!"

Kaida took him by surprise, "Kaida! I knew you wouldn't be far. Thank you for coming!" He'd give her a hug, but she tiny, and squish, so instead. "How's the food? I mean, bad question, it must be delicious as always, I meant to ask what's your favorite so far?" He glances over. "Diana, you came!" he says. Then he re-parses, "I mean, of course you came, this is your home. I mean, you came to me coming here because normally I can't come here but you come here all the time." Clear as mud.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan moves away from Terry/Vorpal to give others the chance to give him a little of their attention. In doing so, he makes his way over toward none other than Diana herself as he adjusts his Greek-flavored attire.

"Thanks for letting us come over here again, Princess. I know it means a lot to him, and I love seeing the place too. I wanted to ask you, what's the whole thing about the kanga rides?" He can't help himself in adding in a quieter voice, "Do you need another one sometime? I bet Terry would like that." It's unclear if or how much he's had to drink. Questions like this are not abnormal from him as a default.

Some of the local food has also found its way into a hand by then, along with his mouth.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"It's a catalog of all the species of the gal-" Kara tries to predict what her mother is going to say about this particular crystal she's just now created, but obviously has no idea. Well not obviously. Obvious to anyone who is listening, maybe. Certainly obvious to Alura who knows, for a fact, that Kara had no hand in this gift aside from her 'just now' claiming she did. Possibly Vorpal. He's right here. He sees the wide eye, 'okay so I was caught in a lie' look hidden behind another drink of wine.

She clears her throat, mouthing '70 billion mapped stars'. Hands held out as far as she can reach them. A measure of how many worlds that is comparative to tiny little Kryptonians.

In short. It's many stars.

She beams a smile at Vorpal, "And it's from both of us." Motioning up to her mom. Gosh, this is not the time to call her out okay. She didn't have a lot of time to come up with a birthday present.

With gift, from both of them, given, Kara tries to give Vorpal a hug. "Happy birthday." But he has so many people to talk to and Kara has to explain hotdogs to Alura.

She peers up at her mom, big blue eyes. Sipping her wine. "Oh, yes. I really like my wieners messy. I think you'll like messy wieners too! We can share a messy wiener!" Mother/daughter activities!

So wholesome.

Rachel Roth has posed:
Eventually, Terry arrives. Raven is, by nature, a wallflower. It will take some time, but the flurry of activity around Terry will die down- as others give their gifts, offer their platitudes, greetings and so on... Eventually, Raven swoops in for the strike.

First, her wine glass is set down upon the table. Then, her hand casually reaches for her phone, and an audio file is sent to Gar's from Raven simply named 'Make this your ringtone.'

From there, she is on the move, quietly, and directly, stepping towards Terry. From under her arm, she presents that wrapped gift. It practically begs for a delicate touch, the way that it is intricately wrapped- and the reward is something... Possibly illegal.

Under the paper is a small box. Easily opened, within, is a priceless artefact. Barely bound, in pristine condition, is the manuscript 'Alice's Adventures Under Ground.' It is signed by Lewis Carroll, as one would not because someone has asked them to, but because one puts their name on their own work.

Terry would know, of course, that the original manuscript from which Lewis wrote what became Alice in Wonderland was at some point lost. Raven has spoken about not being tied to one time period- in fact, she spoke about traversing time just last night- but certainly, certainly, this could not, possibly, be the /real thing./

"When one visits another era, you have to be careful only to do what will already be done." she delivers to him, cryptically. There is a short look at Donna, before she offers, "Happy Birthday." And begins to tread away.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen comes running along to make it through the worm hole as well, seems he was running a bit late. He comes through and is wearing sandals and a himation. He considered wings on the sandals but was unsure if that would go over well. So he comes running in, and make sure to put his hands down to his sides, keeping the bottom of his new outfit from swaying to much

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Alura is oh so trusting of everything that comes out of her daughters mouth. Especially about what goes in to it, it seems. "Messy wieners. So a bit like a sloppy joe? Sounds fascinating." She picks up a wine flute and pours some of the Themysciran wine in to it. If her daughter's going to get ridiculously drunk she might as well join in.

After all, someone did point out to her that all the very adult relations that take place on Themyscira that she was privy too due to her super hearing and super sight? ..... so was her daughter. That put things in to perspective for her. Kara was a young adult now. 21, which for America meant full adult. Yes, a university student, but no longer her 'little girl' even though she'll always seem that way to her.

Wine to lips - at least the brew on this island had some kind of impact. The stuff they sold in America barely did anything to her. Apparently Asgardian brews were also excellent. She has yet to try them. "Oh /inah/ we're going to fix the Sanctuary soon. It'll be tricky but worth it I hope. You should join us - I've been painstakingly reconstructing the core atom by atom for weeks now."

Donna Troy has posed:
"Very few attempts to escape," Donna tells Agatha with a grin. "Possibly because he /really/ likes coming here and that overwhelmed his desire to flee. Possibly because he knows I'd have lassoed him and dragged him here if he tried it."

Donna nods her head to the whispered words from Diana, and there's a brief exchange before she rests a hand momentarily on her sisters arm to give it a squeeze. There's possibly something going on there which doesn't have a place being discussed more openly at a birthday party. Then it's time to do a bit of circulating.

"Alura, I could tell you some scandalous stories. Let's just say... don't let Kara drink /too/ much when Thor's around," Donna says, giving Kara a wink. "Try the grilled meat on skewers," she suggests. "It's more of a Themysciran thing, we don't really /do/ wieners here." Nobody say anything. It was probably intentional. Hopefully Kara won't snort wine out of her nose.

Talking of the skewers of grilled meat, there's a mouse and the mouse is always hungry! Not that there's any shortage of cheese for her to dig into, but Donna takes over a bread plate with a skewer of grilled chicken and another of grilled lamp to offer to Kaida. There's probably more meat on the plate than there is on the mouse, but she's got a surprising appetite. "Telling Io and Pallas all about the things you've done with their handiwork?" she asks with a grin. "That'll give you a hunger, I'm sure."

Then she finds her way around to Raven, and with a slightly arched eyebrow, she whispers "Did you really? I'm kinda... well, I'm sure you took care. Just after the last few days I was hoping the whole time travel thing could be avoided as much as possible. We /are/ sure that thing's missing, right? There's not now two copies of it, and if Terry ever takes that to the wrong museum the universe will end in some kind of temporal paradox?"

Diana Prince has posed:
For Terry, Diana moves to embrace him, before she pulls back to let him have a few moments with some of the others. In the mean time, she regards Gar, who gets a big smile from the Princess.

"Have you had a chance to visit the Arts Center lately?" She inquires with the one known as Beast Boy. "Because... there is a public schedule now for the Kanga stables. You'd be more than welcome there. I am sure the visitors would be happy to see you, perhaps even more than the Kanga." She tells Gar, before offering him a grin and a hug too, should he wish one from her.

"In fact, speaking of the Arts Center..." Now she looks back to Terry, smiling to Raven after she'd presented her present. "I have an offer for you, Terry." She tells the party boy. "If you would be interested... the Arts Center is looking for a new Head Librarian. I want it to be someone from the United States, rather than a Themysciran, to make sure that the style ... of the library, overall, is geared toward something that locals will be mostly comfortable within. Your name struck me, and Donna ... perhaps helped with that too." She glances to her sister who gets a sly grin too before she looks back to Terry. "If it would interest you, of course."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Kaida grins at Diana and gives her a tiny wave before looking back to Terry while watching everyone else give out gifts. She really isn't the type to care much about the level of gift, as long as it is given. She simply seems to 'ooo' and 'ah' at gifts, seemingly genuinely excited to see them all till finally she rushes over to a table, grabs a bag that is one of those small bags stores gives out and she runs it over to Terry.

"Here!" She declares as she leaps over to a table near Terry and if he opens up the bag in it is a small charm bracelet that has the cheshire cat on it and is customized with the name 'Terry' on one piece. The colors of the gems are all the various colors of the cat with one side having the smiling cat's head and the other side having the charm that says 'Terry'. Kaida is proud and grins as she leaps up to Terry's shoulder again unless stopped.

"Ya know what?!" She says rather quickly, "IHaveBeenTryingSUPERHardNotToLaughAtWhatKaraIsSaying!" She says it rather fast, conspiratorily and at a whisper. She reaches up and flicks her ears, "And ya know what?" She looks toward Kara with a grin, "I'm sure both can hear what I'm whispering. Wiener is a euphamism for something ElLLLLlllse..." And she grins wider before leaping free from her perch and fleeing at high speed toward the food with a cackle.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Okay Donna, I see you.

Kara goes so red that her cheeks match the color of her cape. Covering this surge of embarrassment with an incredibly generous pull of wine from her horn! Where did she get a horn? Why is that even relevant... mind ya bitniz. Does it have anything to do with Thor being mentioned? What are you doing, writing a book?

"Okay, first of all.. rude.." She says teasingly to Donna. Holding out a finger from her horn of wine. "Second of all, have you SEEN that mans hair? Nobody should have hair that attractive. I spend literal hours on my hair.. I feel like a wet mop compared to him. It's not fair, it's cheating. Up up down down left right left right, aye bee, aye bee, start, cheating." She points.

Then up to her mom, beaming a smile when Alura pours herself a wine and tries to catch up. "Exactly like a sloppy joe! Only long, slender, and served in a bun!" She nods definitively, sipping more of her own wine. This catch up game can't be easy.

Does she hear Kaida? Yes. Yes she does... She turns like that little girl mime. You all know the one... and smiles in the evilest, most super evil way possible. Did anyone see it? Who knows... But it's like Bill Murrey sneaking up on you in the bathroom and covering your eyes whispering 'nobody will believe this happened'.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan returns the hug from Diana, doing so in as sterile a way as he can manage with one hand still holding food. "No, I haven't, but I'm thinking I should change that soon. And you don't know how hard I'm working on behaving right now." He jerks a thumb toward Kara and her talk of messy wieners, and for one he's not the biggest source of embarrassment at a gathering.

Before Raven approaches Vorpal, he says "Excuse me," to Diana and steps away to check his phone, flicking through what he's received, bringing the thing up to an ear to listen, then getting a crooked grin before he goes into the device's settings, flashing Raven a quick thumbs-up.

In the meantime, he pays mind to the gift from Raven and both eyes widen, brows going up. "Dude, that's wild..and awesome. But I..no, not gonna ask. Don't wanna know." Part of that is coming from what he picks up between Raven and Donna after what the former has said to Vorpal.

Diana's offer of Head Librarian gets him to do what he usually does. "Cool! I can finally be a real bookworm!" he says, ending up on the nearest table as, you guessed it, a green worm.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Too late Donna. Kaida ruined it. She heard alright. Kryptonian's be like that. She rolls her eyes and twists her lips. How many people in the room have ever been married to a man. She looks around wondering. Not many! Donna's added joke about the meat on sticks just adds to the running joke.

Time to embarrass her daughter a little which may be Terry will enjoy. She scoops an arm through Kara's and says, "Who wants to hear about the time Kara came home crying because her cousin threw up on her favourite top?" Ribbing is a two way street.

"...and who wants to see the photos?" She grins, that ever so slightly evil grin of harmless revenge. The wine is casually brought up to her lips. Check and Mate. Her daughter will have to get out on the best side of the bed to get one over her mother.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry's breath catches, and he doesn't release it for several /long/ seconds, as he stares at the gift. He knows the history of the manuscript. Words really can't express what it feels like looking at /the/ document that, in many ways, shaped who he is. Even if Carrol merely documented Alice's adventure, Alice's adventures were the events that started... well, everything, everything which culminated in the Titans facing the Jabberwock and themselves. So many things. He carefully places the manuscript next to the crystal on the shelf through the Rabbit Hole, and he is about to go give Raven a hug- an event that would potentially end the world- before Kaida distracts him. Yes, he might have some tears in his eyes.

"Wha- Oh, Kaida I love it!" He quickly puts the bracelet on, and hods it up in the air, looking at the glittering colors "You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to add a mirror to it and make it my new official transformation bracelet." He has needed one since his previous one succumbed to a bullet--- because, unlike Amazons, his bracelets tend to not be bullet-proof. He listens to Kaida attentively, because he missed the Alura/Kara exchange because Raven srpung The Book on him and distracted him. But now that Kaida is filling him in, his eyes grow wide, and he looks like he is about to explode holding laughter in- "ohmygoddidshereallysay-" but he can't help add his two cents in about something that's being discussed:

"Thor does have pretty hair. I'm not allowed to go near it since that one time I dive-bombed it with glitter..."

And then /Diana/ causes him to stop. Cheshire Cat.exe has suddenly suffered a blue screen of death, as he looks at Diana and blinks several times.

"... saywhat?" he asks, as if trying to parse what he heard, "You want me to --"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over to the others and waves in greeting. He is looking about trying to take it all in and resisting the urge to run here and there looking at things. Seems Bart knows this is special and is trying to be respectful. He has an envelop with Terry's name on it, but other than that he is just him and his new attire. He will end up looking over the food for a moment, and with permission piles a plate high.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana just grins softly at Terry's reaction to the job offer. She lets it settle for a moment within his mind before she just levels her slim pointed chin, and offers him a single nod. "I want you... to be the Head Librarian for the Themysciran Arts Center." She repeats, more thoroughly. "We are redesigning it from the ground up. It will be a place to immerse yourself in the history of the island, from our origins, to our present. It will have volumes of text from the earliest days of written words upon the island, to the latest books, and tomes, written by Amazons today. Even members of the new 700 have already begun to journal their time, their thoughts, and stories, in to books, and we will represent them within the Arts Center shelves. I'd like you... Terrence, O'Neil, to oversee it. From the layout, to the way that visitors experience it from start to finish. You know that it is on the first level, I'm sure, but it needs... well, it needs your input, your direction, to see the vision come to life. To give young people a place to lose themselves in their imaginations, for adults to immerse themselves in history, and for everyone to have a place to just enjoy the Themysciran hub of knowledge."

She smiles softly again then, indulges in another sip of her wine, and then glances toward the others. She offers a little wave to Bart, if he doesn't speed past her before he can see it, then she regards Terry again.

"Full time position, good pay, that I promise. If you need time to consider it... that is, of course, fine. Though the library project does need to begin to proceed here relatively soon..."

No pressure.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"She's kidding!" Kara is very quiet to announce upon Alura saying there's such incriminating pictures of her. Much laughter was had by all. So much laughter. All the fake gaffaw from Kara, "Ha.ha.ha. My Jeju is such a kidder." Arm around her shoulder, Kara loops her own around Alura. "What she meant to say ways, this is totally Vorpal's day and nothing at all embarrassing should be shown about me /or/ Kal." Impetuous stare up at her mother. Who would /never/ do such a thing.

Gosh darn it.

"Man, remember that time we were talking about Thor's hair?" Sip. "That's such a pleasant memory we should all think about right now having shared the moment together..." Sip. "wooo... Such fun times." Sip. Peering up again. Muscles standing out against her cheeks in a clinched jaw smile at her mother.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Taking the offered food from Donna and going off to make sure she can get more food, Kaida sets up a spot right next to Io and sits right in the middle of a plate filled with food, leaning herself against a stack of crackers while casually eating some cheese. She saw Kara's evil smile, she simply stared back at her with a face that says:

<I have looked Death right in the eye, laughed, and then demanded cheese.>

Then Kaida casually listens to what the others are saying while filling herself with wondorous foods because, ya know, that's what ya do at a party.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry walks in a haze as Diana starts describing what exactly she wants Terry to do. His brain is still processing it as he hops over and gives Bart a hug, "Hey Barto thank you for coming-" he says, and then his mind begins to catch up with what his ears are hearing. He blinks a couple of times.

Terry may be an accidental superhero, but what he is, deep in his heart on top of all the chaos and glitter and colors, is a giant bona fide nerd.

What Diana is offering him is something the like sof which he has fantasized for ages. The chance to be in contact with all of that knowledge, all of that history, *all of those books*-

"... wow-"

Thud.

Yep, ladies and gentlemen, Terry O'Neil has gone down in a swoon and fainted.

Rachel Roth has posed:
Raven lingers there in silence, for only those few moments. Just long enough for Donna to join her on her journey to the fringes of the party. She hates them, of course- parties are things that she is normally violently opposed to. There were lasso-related threats involved to get her here rather than just having Donna deliver her gift. Her powers told her that Terry was exceedingly close to hugging her, and being that close to that eventuality was entirely too close at all.

"Of course I did. The original manuscript has been considered lost. It was considered so because I went back and took it. That is the only one of its kind because it is the original, there are /copies/ of it, but the copies were always copies." Linguistically, that makes sense. Temporally, it also makes sense. Logically, it is sound. As a thing that really happened, it is most assuredly a horrible concept.

"Just a moment." she says, to Donna, and then pulls her phone from her pocket. She dials Gar's number, and then slips it back into her sweater to let it ring.

She did indeed wake up today and choose violence.

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna shares a secretive smirk with Diana. Yes, there had been some planning. Gar however gets a quick admonition: "There are some very rare and valuable manuscripts involved Gar," she tells the small green worm. "No eating them. Also some of them may be a little magical, and would be likely to bite back."

She takes the opportunity to grab herself a glass of wine, and wraps an arm around Kara's shoulders to give her Kryptonian friend a quick half-hug. "Alura, she'll talk about Thor's hair /all night/ if you let her. Find a way to change the subject, fast! I... excuse me a moment..." Terry has fainted.

Donna extricates herself from the conversation with the two Kryptonians to pick the cat up off the floor and perch him upright. "Oh... Rae?" she calls out. "We've only got one faintee this time, so there's less opportunities for mischief. Can you either think of something to make Gar faint too, or magic Terry back to consciousness?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen has accept the hug and handed the man his card. as he sees Terry going down, he does use his speed. With a zoom zoom, he has moved to grab a chair and help Terry down into it instead of the ground. He looks to the others, and "I will leave waking him to you guys." He says expecting some mischief. He does return the wave he as moves over to Diana "Thanks for getting us an ok to come along." He says making sure someone thanks here, figuring both her and Donna have to do some talking to get this to happen.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
"/wem-es ,Terry,-w chao kyn-u/" Alura says and gives Kara a warm hug about her shoulders with an arm. Cape included. She smiles and nods to Diana at her extremely thoughtful gift. After all, she's right, this is about Terry and she just checkmated her daughter and her innuendo game.

She grins at Donna and whispers to Kara, "Your hair is lovely don't fret so much." But then her mouth drops open though as Terry drops and in a blur she is there catching him so the poor lad doesn't hit his head. She rests him down on the ground.

"Oh dear. Diana you have overloaded him."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Agatha takes a slow, long sip of her wine, and then sets the drink aside for the moment. She walks over to Diana and Alura with a slight smirk that screams 'mother.' "I think that means he's going to take the position, Princess." She gives Alura a brief glance that glimmers with mischief, recognizing a fellow spirit, "Although some precautions might be needed in the Library- such as replacing hardwood floors with cushions and carpeting. Just in case."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"It's nice hair!" Kara exclaims, beneath Donna's arm, for anyone willing to field this particular serious of continued observation! She's not defending her position on this with further points of argument, except for wild flails of her hands that spill just a bit more wine upon her arm. Why isn't more people appreciating this, that's the real question. Grinning up at her mom, almost apprectiative... except..

Then Terry goes down following Diana's gift. She's only a step behind her mother, but assists in guiding her friend down with a glance up at Diana. "Yeah, you gave him the business here, Diana... That's going to be a really hard act to follow with him faiting and all. Man, I'd sure hate to be anyone who had to follow that gift."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana's reflexes were grand enough that she could see the others rushing to aid Terry, so she merely stepped back to get out of the way. Her hands both wrap around her goblet of wine,a nd she tilts her head to merely watch. When Agatha speaks, Diana just purses her lips together in a tight smile, before she dips her chin in a single nod. "I could not be happier then." She respond to Agatha before her eyes go to Donna, she raises her drink up to 'toast' to her sister before she steps back toward the offerings of food. She hadn't had anything to eat in over a day, so for now the Princess just lingers back and enjoys the party, some of the other Amazons in attendance coming to share words with her.

Gar Logan has posed:
After Gar's bookworm joke, he returns back to normal a few moments later and begins to make his way closer to Vorpal again. About that time, his phone rings and the tone Raven sent him begins to play. Terry/Vorpal, muffled and saying 'Ohgodohgodohgod.'

"Hello?" he pretends to answer, before shrugging and hanging up, tucking the phone away. "Must have been a wrong number. So what was that from, cat?"

Well, that library thing made him just plain pass out. Oops. "Uh, a little help? Kinda need him awake, since it's my turn for a gift." He waits as if seeing Vorpal all unconscious is nothing new to him.

Once he's awake again, Gar clears his throat. "You know, I think we were both eighteen when we met. Maybe you weren't yet. We literally bumped into each other. I was going through some stuff, just getting in from LA and I didn't know if there'd even be a Titans to come back to." Here, he gives Raven a quick look and smile, remembering how..welcoming..she was the day Nightwing and Beast Boy dropped by the Tower. Things got better from there.

"Somehow, we made the Titans better than ever. I realized we started having feelings for each other, and the tabloids got in on that." Hence his post on social media, making those feelings public.

"I almost gave up on everything again when I thought you were gone for good. You, Vic, Donna, and Cait, I mean. But we got through that. We got you all back. And we got through Wonderland, and Kian's world, and a lot of other stuff. I made it to twenty-one last year, and now you did too. I've been thinking hard about the right kind of gift to give you."

He digs around inside his chiton, shifting some of the cloth this way and that before he finds what he's after. A small box. Might be the spot for Vorpal to suspect something. "A part of me has been afraid to do this for a while, but another part of me knows this is the right time, now more than ever." He begins to kneel. Might be the spot for Vorpal to suspect his inital suspicions are correct.

Gar opens the little black container. Inside is a ring. Plain, not /the/ ring, but a ring that symbolizes something very, very clear. He holds it up, looking at the cat's face with all the love he can display in his own.

"Terry O'Neil, Vorpal, Happy Birthday. I'm ready. Are you? Will you marry me?"

Raven might not even need to dial Gar's number again.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Alura recognises that look from Agatha and smiles back to her. Universal mother language is truly universal. Especially when they love their kids to death. In Alura's case, she almost died making sure her daughter had a future. She fully expected to. Now she gets to see the rest of her daughter's life progress and that's a blessing she will never forget.

She steps back from Terry as sooo many people come to his aid. It is his birthday after all. Also, she want to try some of the meat on a stick. With some meat being nommed she whispers quietly to Kara, "You have good friends. Your Titans are a true treasure."

She pauses and then adds, "I saw your on broadcast today talking down a woman with electrical powers. Good job." She ever so gently hip bumps her daughter and then steps back from the chaos and action so the Titan's can enjoy the birthday experience without adults ruining their vibe.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Like her mother, Kara steps back once Terry regains consciousness and Gar steps up to provide his gift... She grins up at Alura after the hip bump. The little show of pride really going a lot further than just about anything could.. She leans against her mom, arm wrapping around her waist, "They're a good group." She focuses on the Titans.

She doesn't want to interrupt what's going on.

Gar on one knee... box in hand.

Kara's eyes go super wide.

Either he's about to suck him into the phantom zone or...

Yup. She beams a smile and peers up at Alura, patting her mom on the abdomen and pointing excitedly at the little emotional moment playing out. This is, without a doubt, well worth the price of admission. She hip bumps her mom and grins up at her. Nose wrinkling.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen quietly watches as he starts to eat and keeps out of the way for now. He seems to be thinking about something from the look on his face for a moment, but keeps quiet.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
When Terry comes to, it's to a recording of himself-- for a brief moment he wonders if he is actually himself, and not someone else listening to himself. One of those 'I don't know if I was the goat dreaming of the hillbilly or the hillbilly dreaming of the goat' situations. Or maybe he just got his recent watching of Deliverance mixed up with his mother's old Deepak Chopra tapes.

But then he focuses, and it's Gar. And it's Gar telling him something. He focuses and blinks a little, as the green Titan begins to go through their past history- the re-founding of a team of friends. More than friends, really, a family.

He does start suspecting something when Gar starts talking. And when he kneels Terry's eyes go wide, his eyes glistening. It would be disingenous to say Terry has never thought about this moment, but in every single instance of whether it would happen, he kept telling himself he was not going to cry. He was not going to cry.

Sometimes plans don't work out the way you expected them to. After Gar has finished asking the question, Terry comes down on one knee and reaches out to bring Gar into a hug. "--yes!" he says in a strangled, creaky voice. "Yes, Gar, yes!"

And yes, he will go for a kiss, losing himself in the moment and forgetting Gar tends to be shy about public displays of affection.

"Well," Agatha says with a conspiratorial smirk to the others in the room "... he may not be Irish, but Scotland is close enough."

Donna Troy has posed:
"Got to give it to Gar," Donna says to Kara with a slight smirk. "He must have heard your comment about following the previous gift, because... yeah. I did not see /that/ coming."

She raises her glass in response to Diana's toast and makes a bit more space for Gar and Terry to do their thing, stepping a little more to the back where Diana and Raven are, taking the opportunity to give Bart's shoulder a bit of a squeeze of reassurance on the way. "Not the easiest thing in the world, but the Titans are respected here. You guys are helping to change an ancient tradition that needed to be changed. And from a personal viewpoint I can't tell you how happy it makes me to be able to bring you guys here and show you all where I came from!"

"I think our job offer has been thoroughly overshadowed," She whispers to Diana with a smirk. Then another whisper aside to Raven, "I always thought it would be the other way around, Terry proposing to Gar. Either Gar's grown up or Terry has corrupted him. I can't make up my mind which it is."

Diana Prince has posed:
The other two Amazons that Diana is speaking with both fall quiet when Diana looks away, they too watching what unfolds here in the taverna this afternoon. When it takes place, Diana responds by just smiling warmly at it, her ruby red lips upturned in a positive manner.

It's Donna's whispered words that draw her eyes from the happily betrothed, and her smile turns in to a grin. "I suppose that is acceptable, this time." She fires back with a whisper of her own. Her eyes do momentarily move to try and catch Raven's, before she'll give a very purposeful LOOK TO DONNA.

No insinuations there from her to her sister's significant other.

Back to the birthday boy, Diana raises her glass. "Congratulations!" She calls out to Terry and Gar. "A first for the island, I can assure you!" She says with a little bubbly laugh escaping her there-after.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan gives Vorpal a wide smile and as self-conscious as he can be, as much doubt that can take him over, he wouldn't have done this if he didn't feel sure of it, definitely wouldn't have done it around others. So, the kiss is shared openly and willingly before he helps the two of them back up, visible evidence in his legs that he's a little shaky, bordering on overwhelmed. "We're gonna, uh, sit over here for now, okay?" he says, nodding toward a spot that will accommodate both of them.

Then, there's a flash of awareness that strikes him at part of Diana's words. "Oh, sh..I mean, yeah. Um, I wasn't really thinking about /that/, so please don't banish us forever after this. I just thought this was the right time." Leave it to him to be apologetic after one of the most important moments in anyone's life is met with approval. Still, he's got a glow about him, an arm around Vorpal's side, the other finding one of his to squeeze. "Wait until Kian finds out."

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna meets Diana's purposeful LOOK with an expression of calm, wry amusement. She leans over to Raven and whispers, " Don't pay any attention to Di and her looks. This was a complete surprise to me. No conspiracy involved. You're entirely safe, I don't have a ring on me or anything." She leans back to watch the reactions of everyone else again, taking particular note of Agatha's response to what just happened. A thought strikes her and she leans back to whisper more to Raven, a mischievous smile on her face. "You can search me later, if you like."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry remains by Gar's side, leaning against him. It is probably a good thing that Gar is leading him off to a corner, because he has the expression of someone who could wander aimlessly right now and fall into one of the ponds. Although he might, also, potentially just walk on the water. He does stop Gar from moving for a second, though, as he turns to look at the room.

"I just want to say... thank you. All of you. I don't think I can ever tell you how much you all mean to me. And this has been the most memorable night of my life..." He leans in to rest his head against Gar's.

"Just wait util the bachelor party," comes Agatha's voice fromt he back, and she takes a sip of her wine. If her eyes are watery, she will simply explain that Themysciran wine is specially potent and that no inferences should be taken from it.

She sniffs a little.

Terry pulls Gar over to the spot, where he is about to be buried in affection from a somewhat delirious Cheshire for, at least, the next thirty minutes.
