Cast of Characters: Marie-Ange Colbert, Mary Bromfield

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Ever since they've gotten back together, Marie has made every effort to make certain that she carves time out of her schedule for to spend with Mary. The French girl has been on a mission to better herself, so the /quantity/ of that time has been somewhat limited, but she tries to make up for it in quality. Whether it's catching lunch together, or even a midnight snack, she puts forth her best efforts.

This was another of those times. Marie had realized an opening in her schedule that wasn't in the process of getting filled by lessons in... something, classes, work or saving the world, so she called Mary as soon as she coul to let her know. When the time came? She'd be found waiting at the gate -- it had become a ritual, since at the Xavier school guests needed to be accompanied -- with a single, red rose in her hands. Patiently but eagerly waiting.

With the weather starting to warm, she's opted to wear a light blue jacket, currently zipped, a black, medium length skirt and black flats. Her hair's tied back into a ponytail, with a loosely flowing white ribbon keeping the red strands in place.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
The weather might be warming, but there's a crash of thunder in the distance, along with the faint glimmer of lightning on the horizon. Then there's another thunderclap, much closer.

Shortly after that, Mary is seen walking briskly up the path towards the gate. A frequent enough visitor but still a visitor, which she doesn't mind at all. She has a white rose in her hands, her pace quickening as she sees Marie standing there, a smile growing on her face.

Currently, Mary has a green turtleneck sweater, as she doesn't seem worried about the weather... typical for her, really. She also has a matching green skirt and black nylons, with black flats on her feet. Her hair is worn loose, the curly brown hair bouncing eagerly with each step she takes.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
The unrestrained joy that Marie feels is pretty evident by the way the redhead's facial features light up at the sight of her girlfriend. "Mary!" she calls out cheerfully. Not that she needs to pick her out of a crowd, or vice versa, but she's still scurrying quickly in the other woman's direction to greet her properly. A quick kiss on the lips, followed by a warm embrace... and then a presenting of the rose.

"I am so glad you could make it out on such short notice, mon amour. For you!" she declares happily. "Things have been well I hope? It... has been longer than I would have liked, but..." Marie might not be able to tell /all/ her secrets, but Mary knows the ones that affect her schedule, at least.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary's arms circle around Marie the instant she gets close enough, eagerly returning that quick kiss as she smiles, "Oh, Marie, I've missed you." Her eyes light up at the rose, and she presents the white rose she had for Marie, "And here you go, ma cherie."

With that, she takes Marie's free hand in hers, squeezing lightly, "And hey, I can go supersonic if I need to, and New York isn't that far." Her voice lowers a bit, "I'm pretty sure Aphrodite approves of me using my powers for a rendezvous with you, m'amour." With that, she leans in for another quick kiss, as she just looks glowing with happiness for being here.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"And I you, my Mary." Marie accepts the rose with a gentle blush; even after everything they've been through together, it's still not that hard to turn the girl as red as her hair. "I would hope so!" she replies, returning the second kiss with one of her own; she might blush easily, but there's no /shame/ in her actions.

Rose in one hand, Mary's hand in the other, she leads the girl through the normal procedures. Sign-in at the gate. The walk to the college dorms built on the grounds, up the stairs, down the hall... and quickly enough into Marie's assigned apartment. Marie's? It's pretty close to immaculate. Cleaner than the apartment that she had shared with Jenny without the blonde's more chaotic nature -- though certainly smaller than the two-bedroom place they had, and spartanly decorated. Marie herself doesn't own a ton of things, but the apartment came pre-furnished. What obviously didn't come with the place? The photographs on the walls. Marie keeps her fondest memories close, for those moments that she can't actually live them. There's a handful of new additions, like a crystal ball that set up on the coffee table, and one of those fancy retro gaming systems that plays a variety of systems' games. She's still not the sort to own a ton of things, but birthday parties have a tendency to add to her collection!

"Would you care for a drink?" A pause, and Marie winks playfully. "Now that March has passed, I can offer a wider selection if you wish." Marie was Very Serious about not drinking (any more) alcohol before turning twenty-one once she found out about the laws in the States. She's made up for her dry period some since then.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles, "Well, I'll have what you're having, Marie... though if you had a nice red, that would be perfect." While Mary's blue-collar upbringing might prefer a more proletariat beer, she suspects Marie is a little more European with her tastes. "I like what you've done with the place, though it is weird not hearing Jenny swearing up a storm in the next room." Her lips quirk in a grin, as she tilts her head at Marie.

Then she busies herself with looking around, "Oh, nice retro system there." Her eyes flicker around the photos, and she smiles when she sees the old picture of Mary and Marie at the RenFair with the other students... "Didn't Emma Frost take that picture?" She laughs softly, remembering her and Marie cosplaying as Morrigan and Leliana.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"For some reason, I am starting to think you have a fondness for that color." Marie teases again, releasing Mary's hand, now, to wander into the little kitchen. First thing's first; a pair of vases are collected, filled with water, and set out; the white rose she recieved from Mary carefully placed in one. Then, a pair of wine glasses.

"Thank you! It was Madame Carlyle's gift. There are many games I have missed out on over the years, I am told, and it is helping... complete my education, oui?" Marie babbles happily while selecting a bottle... quickly disposing of the cork, and pouring two glasses. With these, she rejoins Mary in the little living room.

"Oui, she did!" Marie answers, offering one of the glasses while she admires the photograph. "It is a shame that Madame Frost and Monsieur Summers did not stay together..." A pause. "...but perhaps they will find one another again, as you found me. Fate works in mysterious ways, n'est-ce pas?"

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles, "Well, you could have asked me... you /know/ I have rigs for streaming. I'd love to have you on at some point, if you have a free evening. Though I feel I'd be too selfish, as I'd want you all to myself, Marie." Her lips curve into a bit of an impish expression as she accepts the wine.

"Well, there is always the future, and you never know what it might bring. Hopefully those two figure it out, either with each other or with someone else." She smiles warmly at Marie, looking at her eyes as she clinks her glass lightly against Marie's, "To fate, and the future."

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"Oui, but I did not wish to be prescie-- presen--" Marie frowns as English gets the better of her, here. It doesn't happen as often as it used to, but there's the occasional slips caused by that accent still! "...I did not wish to assume!" she clarifies after a moment, opting for the smaller word. As for the offer? "We will plan on it, then. The semester is almost over, so I will have additional time soon... so I can shift things around and you can have me all day. We can stream, and then... well. Do whatever you wish!" There's no objections from the French girl.

The toast is met with an added, "To /our/ future." before she takes a slow sip of the wine. Smiling fondly at Mary for a moment, before moving to settle onto the couch. Free hand patting the spot beside her in an invitation for the brunette to join.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles and takes a long sip of the wine, then moves over and settles in next to Marie on the couch. "I like the thought of /our/ future." She pauses, then looks over at Marie, her head tilting a bit towards the redhead. "Honestly, I don't want to think about a future where you're not part of it, Marie." She smiles warmly, sincerity in her voice as she definitely means it.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"You say the words better than I ever could. Even if I were to say them in French!" Marie replies, eyes sparkling as she move to slip an arm around the brunette, getting cozy, now. The years have made Marie a little less shy. At least when she's with Mary... a little more willing to take chances. More confident. "...and we shall not! We shall live in the present... as hard as it can be sometimes for me, and we will /make/ our future together." There's a firm nod to that. Resolute. More proof that their relationship is more important to Marie than fate itself, as she's not just /hoping/ that fate allows their union. Not anymore.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins, "Oh, flatterer. But I've had a great teacher for the French, m'cherie." She nestles in quite contentedly on the couch, "So, if I were to say that at the end of the semester I was losing a roommate, and I could use a new one... what would you think about that?" She gives Marie a curious look, her eyes meeting hers as she decides to press the luck a bit.

Or it could be something that she's been thinking of for a while, particularly given that it was /their/ future. Together.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Marie's just gazing lovingly at her partner, soaking in the compliments... the supposing, though, gets a curious look. It takes a moment for Marie to process the information. Translate it into French. Back into English. Realize exactly /what's/ being asked, here.

Her eyes widen like saucers. Her face flushes deeply. Her mouth opens to speak... nothing comes out.

Until it does. "Are... Mary..." A pause. "Are you asking me to move in with you?" she asks, a little breathless, glass of wine ignored for the moment. Attention fully on the other. Making sure she's understanding the suggestion. At least she doesn't look upset by it!

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles, "Well, it's a good way to find out if we'll really work, isn't it? I mean, you'll find out just how deep my coffee addiction goes and my taste for really /bad/ science fiction movies." She gently places her free hand over Marie's, looking at her tenderly.

"If you think it's too soon, I respect that, but as my Latin teacher used to say, sometimes you need to carpe the diem." She smiles warmly, "But yes, I am asking you to move in with me. Since it'll be the end of your semester and I'll need a roommate anyway... I would like that to be you. Because there's no one else I'd rather see as often as you."

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"Yes." Not 'oui', but yes. It's said without a doubt in her mind. She's discovered well enough that she enjoys it when they don't part at the end of the night... doing that every night, having that much more time together? It sounds like paradise to her.

"Mary... I think now is the perfect time. There may be... issues. Transportation to figure out... my occasional late hours at the Club... but we will work through them. We have love. What more do we need?"

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles, "Well, coffee. Patience. And communication. I'm sure my foster parents would give me a long list, but we have love, Marie." She gently strokes Marie's hair in her fingers, and nods, "And this would have you be a lot closer to the Club, so that'd be easier i think." She leans in, and seals the agreement with a kiss, feeling perfectly content in a moment that could last forever.
