An Unstoppable Outing
Date of Scene: 01 May 2020
Location: Downtown Manhattan
Synopsis: Juggernaut picks the wrong time to try to rob an armored truck. Facing off against an Amazon, a Ghost Rider, and an occultist proves to be something the Juggernaut didn't plan for and so he gives them one rather nasty round of applause and chooses to rob another day.
Cast of Characters: Cain Marko, Yami Kuroki, Robbie Reyes, Artemis

Cain Marko has posed:
So it's pretty typical of an early evening here in this part of the city. People attend to their common every day affairs, some with a smile on their faces, some with..less then friendly looks and others with just what to be expected of the average New Yorker dealing with the not so average circumstances that seem to enjoy plaguing the city. One such person seems to fit the description of 'not so average'. An absolutely -huuuge- man literally swamps over an entire park bench that faces the streets. His hair is red, dark sunglasses rest on the bridge of his broad almost flat nose and his massive unshaven jaw is set into a fairly non descript thin mouthed expression that seems to indicate he's hardly paying much mind to the stares that are sent his way..nevermind the fact that he looks like he ate the entire linebackers lineup of The Giants, moved on to the local superheavy weight bodybuilders and power lifters and is due for a stop at Strongman and Sumo buffet. So yeah. He's huge. Dressed well enough in form fitting likely custom made casual jeans and a tee shirt that probably unironically has an image of Godzilla on it.

But sits, unbothered, reading the Bugle and occasionally looking at his watch..

Eventually after a final watch check, he rises and begins to step down the street and into a wide alleyway. Maybe to take a leak.

An armored truck begins to make its way through the area shortly after, heading towards an intersection that would ultimately connect it to a route to make its way further into the depths of the city, bound for some important vault or another. It's all pretty normal and everyday.. that is..until there is a flash of red light, the ground begins shaking, and then a titanically muscled, reddish armored, and nine foot plus behemoth emerges from said alleyway, so immense that his shoulders brush against the walls on either side of him, warping and cracking the earth and sending seismic rumbles as he steps casually into busy traffic and into the path of the incoming armored truck.

Typical evening!

Yami Kuroki has posed:
Having arrived in New York just a couple of weeks ago, Yami is still very much the tourist. By now he has a reasonable knowledge of roughly 'where' everything is, though if told to head to a specific location? It takes him a bit of time. Well, it would if he didn't have his phone on him. This amount of time in the city has also bequeathed him with the knowledge of brand new western foods. Things like BAGELS. And the delightful fried dough dessert he munches on currently: CHURROS! One can probably easily imagine his expression when he first ate a churro. The Japanese teenager practically //melted// in the street. Since then he's been chewing on them at least once a day, mostly in the evenings.

So here he is, teeth chewing down on the crunchy fried dough while strolling the streets Downtown. The sight of the colossally large man does draw his attention, so much so that Yami finds himself rudely gawking. With his head tilting in curiosity as Cain then disappears down an alleyway, he shrugs to be on his way... That is until the ground begins to shake. "W...what?!" Earthquake, maybe? Spinning his head around in alarm, he catches the sight of the huge, reddish armoured figure stomping into the busy traffic. "O...oi! Watch out! You'll get hit by that car!" The churros are lowered as he yells out, waving his free hand to try and signal that Cain is about to get RUN OVER!

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Robbie JUST dropped his little brother Gabe off at school.

So he was doing a teensy bit of joy-riding today in the (non-transformed) Hellcharger, a '69 Dodge Charger modifies to the max by its driver.

<*inhale* I smell me some trouble brewing kid. We gonna get some chaos?>

"I'm sure its nothing. Lets just drive until Gabe gets off of school." Robbie sure enough leans forward a bit when JUGGERNAUT walks out into the street and Robbie has seconds to react before he beers off out of the way, drifting perfectly into a parallel parking spot.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Robbie calls to Juggernaut, before he realizes its Juggernaut. "Eli, I hate it when you're right."

<I'm always right, kid.>

Cain Marko has posed:
Needless to say, Yami's 'warnings' fall on deaf ears. The armored bruiser might as well be going for a stroll in the park. Most cars manage to swerve wildlky out of the way, but a few unlucky ones crash right into his legs with all the fanfare of crushing an empty beercan up against the side of a super alloy battleship. Airbags are deployed but they still go spinning off, possibly endangering others in the process. As for Juggernaut part, he seems to hardly notice the impacts against his legs, barely registering them like someone else might register the lapping of waves against their ankle.

The Juggernaut flexes, muscles straining against the armor and producing a sound like plates of landmass grinding together. The force of the muscle fiber twitching enough to cause a depression to form under him as cracks spread out beneath him. His chest expands and his arms splay out at an angle like some sort of nightmarish bodybuilder. He seems to literally fill up the middle of the street as the armored truck hits the breaks as there's nowhere for the truck to go but straight into the expanding wall like blockade that is the giants torso. It lacks the manueverability or the space to avoid a potential head on impact--

Artemis has posed:
And as one car slams into Juggernaut and goes careening toward a crowd of people, there's suddenly a screeching of tires and metal as the car is stopped and brought to a skidding halt by another armored individual, red hair flying up from under a hood as that hood falls. The brown cloak she was wearing splaying out behind her as she halts the car's momentum and then leaps over it with ease that would make Olympic Athletes jealous. She stares at what she is seeing. This massive armored beast of a man moving to halt that truck and she realizes what is going to happen.

"Mistress, to me!" She calls out with hand extended and in a blink an axe that is as tall as she is and twice as wide appears and the is thrown in one smooth motion. The axe flies through the air past Juggernaut and is aimed right for the front right tire of the oncoming and breaking armored vehicle, attempting to halt its momentum. The thing is huge and aims to act like a brace to help halt the tires.

"You there. Monster." She calls out as she steps toward him, hair flaring out behind her, "What is your purpose?"

Yami Kuroki has posed:
Once again Yami finds himself gawking. Not so much at the Juggernaut himself (though he does get his share of the stares), but the cars that seemingly crush against his legs like they were the thickest tree trunks of all time. As cars go spinning and veering off, crashing into either each other or other obstacles that line the street, the teenager goes to help and assist. "Hey, hey!" He cries out, yanking open car doors to free those crushed inside. "You should all leave. This guy is going to crush everything!" So far he doesn't really interact with the Juggernaut himself. He's just going about helping the drivers that have crashed about.

Artemis' dramatic arrival earns a gawk too. "A...awesome." Someone nearby yelling for freedom catches his attention though, and Yami turns to head in that direction. "I'm coming, I'm coming. Don't move!" Scramble scramble.

Robbie Reyes has posed:
"Oh great, another one."

Robbie says as he sees Artemis emerge in the way that all great Amazons or Demigods do, of course. All the same, Robbie revs the ignition, flames coming out the engine and the wheels catch on fire. It looks like a literal inferno inside the car as Robbie transforms into the Ghost Rider as he drives towards the Juggernaut before he comes to a stop.

People are probably screaming for their lives right now.

All the same, the Rider emerges from the vehicle, blades chain in hand as it drives towards Juggernaut at peak speed.

<Go kick his ass, kid!>

Ghost Rider peels his head out the window, roaring at Juggernaut in hellish fury.

Looks like there might be a fight on their hands.

Cain Marko has posed:
It works.

Artemis' intervention is timely and effective. The speed and momentum of the armored truck is no match for the strength and durability of Mistress and though the road itself sunders and splits, the armored truck goes screeching to a final halt, tilting to its side in one final teetering instant before righting itself. Smoke and steam are heavy, the drivers are rattled but hey..it's not a direct impact into the waiting body of the freaking Juggernaut. A Juggernaut that frowns for the first real time, nostrils flaring bullishly as he turns away from the arrested truck to survey the area in annoyance.

Artemis is heard but not answered immediately as the arrival of Ghost Rider is suitably attention grabbing. He raises both eyebrows at this and then finally breathes a heavy rumbling sigh that sounds like a distant earthquake quietly rumbling, clearly annoyed.

"What is this..some cheap Wonder Woman knock off in bad cosplay and a pyrotechnics guy?" He snorts, heavy bass voice tinged with that aggravating aggressive tone usually carried by the typical school yard bully or college jocks that refuses to grow up probably puts lunch money theft on his resume.. The vaguest 'brooklyn brawler' like accent rolling in there as well.

"Listen lady, flame-dude...I'm just here to get what's mine. If you stay outta my way...nobody gotta get hurt. Consider it a mercy deal on my part."

He waits for no answer and begins to step forward again, approaching the truck.

Yami Kuroki has posed:
Yami frees the rest of the crashed drivers from impounded and wrecked cars just as the Ghost Rider appears on the scene. Like the Juggernaut and Artemis before him, he gets a simple stare. With the Juggernaut then beginning to stomp towards the armoured truck however, seemingly ignoring both of the others that have gathered, Yami bites his lip in hesitation. He moves to act, but then pauses as a thought crosses his mind.

"Oh, screw it."

Turning back to one of the crashed vehicles, the teen tourist proceeds to //rip// the door off of one of the crashed cars. Much to the chagrin of one of the fleeing passengers mind you, who screams something about now having to replace his car door. Yami then proceeds to //hurl// the thing like a discus, sending it spinning through the air, right at Juggernaut's huge head! Or rather, at the side of his head given that's his current direction.

Artemis has posed:
There's a look spared for Yami Kuroki, a hmm as she looks at him before she turns her gaze back to Juggernaut only to pause at the sight of Robbie Reyes. She blinks a few times, staring at him and his flaming skull before she shakes her head, "This land continues to become stranger and stranger." She then looks to the Juggernaut. Well. He's really looking to get her ire up.

"Knock off...Wonder Woman?" She grinds her teeth a little. She has heard of Princess Diana and her moniker. She holds out a hand, "Mistress." And the axe that was in the tire returns to her hand. She then looks up at Juggernaut and then she calls out, "How about this deal."

With that, she's moving fast. Like a blur of speed, she is rushing him. No, she's no Speed Force user or even a Kryptonian, she's just pretty darn quick. She clears the space between Juggernaut and herself in a blink and a warrior's gaze searches him. She then goes low. She slips the axe around to try to hook a leg as she slides along the ground to his left only to come to a sudden halt. She oofs as she lets go of her axe and tumbles past him.

The tumble brings her sliding up to a three point stance with her eyes wide. She had not expected that.

"Mistress." And again that axe teleports to her hand. She stands up and is now nearer to Robbie, looking over at him briefly before she looks to the now facing her monster of a man and nods, "Ok..." She rolls her head, "You are definitely going to be a challenge it seems." Then slowly she grins, "Good."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
As Juggernaut decides to taunt and mock, Ghost Rider exhales a demonic growl. At the question of mercy, with Juggernaut just 'getting what belongs to him', Ghost Rider doesn't play like that. His flaming skull burns a little more intense with hellfire.

Then there's a car door flailing through the air like a frisbee.

He looks over at Artemis and gives her an upnod as they are now near each other as the battle starts.

"Sorry. All out of mercy." Ghost Rider growls out as he hits the ignition, trying to run the Juggernaut over with extreme force of supernatural impact.

Cain Marko has posed:
First the car door impacts. It slams against Juggernaut's head and crumples up like a frisbee made of tinfoil. This distracts him enough that he barely registers Artemis movements and has already turned slightly in the direction of the thrown car door just as she comes sliding in and tries to hook his legs. A look of consternation flashes through his eyes as Artemis goes tumbling away from the failed effort and Juggernaut emits a bullish grunt and turns, beginning to walk after her with footsteps likely triggering seisometers elsewhere in the city.

"You C-Listers wanna make me MAD?? Fine!"

A massive fist clenches, casting shadow over Artemis and comparing favorably to the size of her whole body as his knuckles crack with a sound like boulders splintering.

But an instant later Ghost Rider is upon him. Juggernaut turns, wheeling around before he can swing on Artemis and instead brings that same fist down like a meteor strike as he braces his body against the impact of the Hellcharger and tries to plow the front end of the car deep into the streets from the impact of his fist.

Yami Kuroki has posed:
"Hey, can tin! Go back home!" Yeah, so Yami's english still isn't perfect, but he still gets points for effort, right? The verbal barb is hollered just as the teen watches the flying car-door smash against the Juggernaut with seemingly no effect whatsoever. His face falls a bit in response, teeth clenching in both worry and some anxiety. Uh-oh... he had not expected that. Similarly when Artemis lunges forth to try and bring him down, only for nothing to happen? Well, it forces Yami to take a breath. She had moved fast. //Damn fast//, even. But it's like she had just tried to trip a building or something. With the Amazonian appearing unfazed and gearing up for another round, Yami lurches forward.

Dressed casually in his Adidas branded sweatpants and hoodie, Yami reaches into his pocket and pulls out what looks to be a vial of dark-purple liquid. Vaulting over various crashed cars, he just watches with an incredulous expression as Ghost Rider CRASHES into the Juggernaut with supreme force. As the huge, armoured fist raises in response, threatening to cave the front of the Hellcharger into the sewers beneath, Yami hurls his vial!

The small thing spins through the air, aimed to strike the spot that Juggernaut is aiming for. Should the vial strike true (or strike anywhere), it will shatter and release a flume of smoke - enough to envelope both Juggernaut, Ghost Rider and maybe even Artemis within. The idea? Take away his vision. Provide a distraction for Ghost Rider to hit reverse and get out of there.

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Ghost Rider rides like the wind, like there's a rocket boosting his car. Likely its part of the magic qualities of the Hellcharger. But, all the same, Ghost Rider times his entry perfectly as the 'Dark Horse' of this ragtag team and resident Avenger, attempting to literally plow Juggernaut off of his feet.

...however.

The Hellcharger smashes into Juggernaut's fist, causing a literal sound-breaking impact that shatters windows and pushes cars aside. Though Robbie whips out his Hellfire chain, attempting to wrap it around Juggernaut's knee and tug backwards to try and make this giant fall, but the car does not go sailing across the street as intended.

However, Juggernaut did just put a helluva dent in the Hellcharger (pun intended).

"FALL!" Ghost Rider calls as he tries to overpower the Juggernaut, which is likely a wasted effort.

Artemis has posed:
Watching Robbie race forward, she holds her movement. She's a strategist as well as a warrior. She crouches low and whips her cloak away, revealing her full form. She sees the interaction happenning before her and then suddenly pushes off. The asphalt moves under her feet, denting as if it were fresh from that push and she is running. She doesn't hesitate to use Robbie's ride as a stepping off point. She saw out tough it was. If it could take the denting force of this behemoth's fist, then it can certaintly take her.

"Fall before me, red giant!" And she swings her axe with killing intent. She is not Wonder Woman. Not a hero. She's a warrior that happens to be on the side of what some might call good. That axe comes with all her force as she aims to use her momentum and her axe to bring this beast down and when she swings she is carrying her full force and weight this time, intending to ride this behemoth to the ground.

Cain Marko has posed:
The behemoth is seemingly as immovable as the roots of a mountain range. He stands his ground, immeasurable strength bracing his body against a ground that continues to perpetually crack and sink in from the pressure being exerted upon it. Flames from the Hellcharger billow around his fist and arms as the goliath grits his teeth in sudden annoyance and roars out, "What the hell...this stupid car magic! Is it everywhere!?"

Truth be told, though Artemis' axe didn't pull him down earlier..he felt that nagging enchantment upon it. Sorcery is afoot and against it Juggernaut's vaunted invulnerability becomes less then a sure thing.

Nothing else is said though as smoke billows up around him just before Artemis lands upon the car and begins to make her way in. His vision is obscured as flames and then the new found blast of smoke rolls and boils upward to completely swallow him from sight. And then the axe falls.

There is the sound of rushing wind. The ringing of metal slicing against and into metal. Juggernaut's helmet goes flying into the air hurtling out of the smoke cloud and tumbling violently off to smash into the front end of an abandoned pick up truck in a shower of glass and pieces of the engine.

The smoke clears and Juggernaut's head is revealed. His expressive features snarled into a look of frustration and fury now. He's still up and moving. He's taken hits from the hammer of Thor and shrugged them off after all but magic is a fickle thing.

"Are you CRAZY?! That axe must be enchanted to tag me like that!"

Enchanted axe. Magic freakin' Dodge Charger. Smoke bombs from somewhere. This is fast becoming more then he wanted to deal with. Massive arms spread wide:

"I'm on the clock here and you've all ruined my timetable!"

His arms come hurtling around, palms slapping together and producing a sudden thunderous *KATHOOOOOM* in a manuever made more then famous by a certain green giant (but don't tell Juggernaut that.)

The shockwave rips out from him, blasting outward in a dome of force that rips the streets apart, sends cars flipping and seeks to hopefully give him some space by sending the close combatants airborn and backwards from the expanding force.

Yami Kuroki has posed:
With his smoke bomb in action along with Ghost Rider and Artemis giving their all, Yami realises that his addition to the melee won't tip the scales. So instead he changes gear, attention shifting to look at the armoured truck that appears to be the target of this man-mountain. With a few huffs and puffs he vaults around a few more wreckages, before jumping into the drivers seat of the damaged vehicle. "I can't believe I'm doing this." He mutters under his breath, turning the key to re-start the ignition just as Juggernaut's helmet hits a nearby pickup truck. Exhaust spews out from the rear as the teen starts to try and navigate the vehicle away from the scene, hoping that Artemis and Ghost Rider are enough to at least hold the man mountain in place.

The whole ordeal is a struggle. Damage to the vehicle makes manoeuvrability difficult, ensuring everything goes much slower than what it normally should. He bumps into numerous already-crashed cars as he starts to reverse away from the scene.

Naturally, the 'thunder-clap' catches the armoured vehicle entirely. Yami is thrust back into his seat as he grips onto the wheel, trying to keep some sort of control on the thing as it spins around - already damaged tyres squealing in resistance. "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God," The muttering and panicked cries are done over and over as he restarts his plan on trying to drive the armoured car away.

Robbie Reyes has posed:
BOOM!

The mass thunderclap knocks the Ghost Rider out of the Hellcharger and causes the car to flip several times before landing crookedly against a building. Ghost Rider continued to bounce along the ground until he smashed into a car that was trying to run away. More specifically, Yami's truck, but thankfully, Ghost Rider just bounced off rather than went through it. That'd be bad.

But, Ghost Rider seems to not have a scratch on his body! However, that hurt like a motherfu$^er.

<Robbie, the hell are you doing kid?! Take him DOWN.>

Ghost Rider growls as he stands up somewhat shakily, leaping at Juggernaut to try and knee this dude in the chin with force, trying to just knock the man down before he can cause any more destruction.

Artemis has posed:
Unlike Robbie, Artemis was kinda in a bad spot when Juggernaut started his move. She was, first off, feeling that hit. No, not hte hand clap, the hit where her axe hit that big man. Despite the damage it did, her weapon did not at all enjoy hitting him and through their empathic link, she winced and felt it. Then she saw his arms move and realized she was not dealing with the average monster. She gripped her axe and pushed off from him in a flip, trying to get out of the way of those giant tennis racket palms. When they slap together, she is mid-flip.

"Shi-!" She doesn't finish it as she is sent flying and flipping through the air. She slams into a building with enough force to put her into it. She rolls several times and grits her teeth as she slowly pushes a desk up and off of her. The people in the building all staring at her. Luckily, the desk she hit was not occupied at the time.

"If you are not warriors, get to cover." She states and then she walks back to the hole she made in the wall and glares out from it, blood dripping down her arm from where part of the building slashed it and she grinds her teeth a little before looking back to the big man and nodding, "Well played monster." And then she leaps back to the ground.

Cain Marko has posed:
This wasn't in the plan. He didn't come out this way just to fight crazy people. He had a job. A time table. A window and now that window is closing. Such is the life of a mercenary criminal. He doesn't have the leisure ability to just cause chaos on a whim. There's dollar signs to consider and numbers to run and the number count is draining and draining fast.

"I figured some boy and girl scouts might show but not some freaking magic using nutcases." Juggernaut quickly dislodges himself from the sinkhole, plowing upwards and away from the burning mass of the Hellcharger and the fountaining eruption of broken water mains and shattered fire hydrants. When he emerges, the armored truck is on the other side of the crater he just created and Artemis is descending earthwards once again.

A white flash and a loud *TWHAM* resounds as Ghost Riders fist slams into Juggernaut's jaw. The area shakes. The giant barely blinks.

"Aint you figured it out, yet!? I can't be stopped!"

His massive fist comes hurtling upwards from beneath Ghost Rider, intending on slamming into his body with its boulder like immensity. Success would see him pivot, turning and then attempting to send The Rider hurtling in Artemis direction.

"I'm outta here, chumps! Aint worth my time now!"

Yami Kuroki has posed:
"AAAAH!" The huge THUD that hits the side of the armoured truck causes Yami to jump. For a moment he freaks, believing that he somehow killed Robbie given the velocity of which he bounced off the armoured truck. You can imagine his shock and awe then when Ghost Rider just gets up as if he'd been just slapped by some punk. By now he's gone back to his native Japanese language, ranting something panicked under his breath. Maybe they're prayers? Or just complaints on how out of his depth he is? Either or, with his foot jamming on the clutch he once again shifts gears, hoping to lurch the truck into some sort of momentum away. "<GO!>" He hollers in Japanese. "<GO! GOOOOOOO!>". Vroom vroom.

Over the sound of the engine roaring, he can vaguely hear Juggernaut bellowing about how he's going to make his leave. He doesn't take the chance on stopping though, insistent on trying to get clear.

Robbie Reyes has posed:
The impact of Robbie literally decking Juggernaut in the jowels is a shot heard around the world. But, Ghost Rider can tell that there was literally no harm done to this monster of a man. Ghost Rider though, who is still in the air, notices the mountain fist coming right at him. He moves his hands in front of his chest to try and block it as much as he can, but alas...

He's literally launched like a rocket at Artemis from the impact of the hit, and unless she moves out of the way? He's going to plow right into her.

Probably through a building (or two). Either way, Ghost Rider's definitely going for a ride.

Artemis has posed:
A blink as she watches that flaming man get hit and she looks back over her shoulder a moment at the people behind her. She can't let that man just fly through the building. So, within that mere second she has before he hits, she shifts her right leg back and moves her arms forward. Then he hits her and she doesn't go flying so much as purposefully catches him. She is sliding back, letting up a little to allow her boddy to move and cushion the man's hit before she then presses down a little and slows their slide.

"Got you." She says to the flaming man and he ends up being held in her arms, one arm under his back and another under his legs. She then hefts him to teh side, allowing him to either land on his feet or in a heap. Up to him, "He got away." She nods her head and then grumbles, "Hopefully he'll just leave and not cause too much more trouble." She then shakes her head.

Cain Marko has posed:
Show's over. He could go plowing after the truck but a sense of confidence for a future effort and not wanting to engage in what could potentially become rather bloody with some unknowns to him when it isn't needed..keeps him at bay. Instead he doesn't even turn to see if his attempt at keeping Artemis and Ghost Rider at bay is successful. Rather then that, he begins to withdraw. His pounding steps soon become that of a steady run and a run that picks up speed as like a train running wild and loose, he begins thundering down the streets. Abandoned cars are flattened and the earth rocks violently and then even more so when he leaps, rocketing off the ground and clearing a full city block - and then again, towards a high rooftop. He's not Hulk in this regard, there's no covering countrysides with one jump, but he -can- get some height and distance and before long..he is indeed gone, likely plummeting towards the surface of the Hudson River to make for a clean get away.

And just like that, the onslaught is over. For now.

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Ghost Rider discovers that he's apparently in the arms of a statuesque Amazonian megababe.

Lovely.

Ghost Rider though is at least hefted aside, where he lands on his feet and whips his chain in such a way that it wraps back around him, and the Rider growls irritably when Artemis speaks that he got away.

"Thanks for the save. But, he'll be back. We have to be ready for him." The beast growls, though he suspects that Artemis may yet turn on her axe upon him.

"I know his type. Sin is as long as the Golden Gate bridge."

Artemis has posed:
Looking over at this flaming skull man, she shakes her head, "I don't care for his sins. I'm not here to punish his kind. I'm just not going to allow a monster to cause havok as he pleases." She then flicks her hand out and the axe simply vanishes. She nods to the man, "I am Artemis. I have other business now that the danger has passed." And she then moves to the edge of the hole in the building and looks back at Ghost Rider, "YOu fight well, Flameskull." She then leaps away with enough force that a small part of the building falls away to the ground below as she flies off into the distance.
