Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Gabby Kinney

Emma Frost has posed:
She's not had the chance to catchup with Gabby in some months. They're both rather busy. Emma has baited Gabby to join her at Emma's personal spa. Up in one of the lovely mountains in Massachusetts (because a girl needs a getaway sometimes). There have been offers of candy and chcoolate to further sweeten the pot.
So now, the two are getting a hot rock massage as Emma sighs. "It's good to have you around. It's been too long."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
It had been awhile. Quite awhile, and Gabby had decided at the beginning of the year that one of her resolutions (not that she usually ever bothered with those) was to do better at keeping in touch with those in her life. This was a perfect chance. Plus, she couldn't recall the last time she had a spa day. Not since before she was eighteen for certain.

Healing factor or not, a hot stone massage was certainly a pleaesant experience. She's lain down on the next bed over enjoying the way the heat from the stones soaks into her muscles helping to relax her. A little grin comes as she agrees, "Yeah, it has. I'm sorry. I was fighting for awhile trying to juggle so many things because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do that I think I overworked myself." There's a pause before she explains, "That's part of why I went for my GED instead of sticking out to graduate. It allows me to focus a bit more on other things."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod, "Nothing to apologize for, dear." Emma's head half turned to maintain her gaze over with Gabby. "We both have very busy, chaotic lives with a great many obligations. We have a great many things giong on. Sometimes we just have to set aside a sufficient effort to do something. This seems like quite an appropriate reason to get together. I try and come up here at least once a week. The helipad I had installed has long since paid itself off." Helicopter to personal mountain spa. Trip - roughly an hour.
IT was good to be rich. "And it's good also that you're thinking of your education, but also what you feel you can devote th etime and energy to things."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney grins warmly while meeting Emma's gaze. There were a few people in this world outside of family she felt she could really trust, and surprisingly Emma fell under that umbrella. Having the shared experiences they had, well, it was bound to forge a bond of some sort. "Yeah. Roberto gifted me a small clothing manufacturer in Gotham for Christmas, too, so I even have a legitimate business now."

"I always did like fashion. Even if I'm kind of... Odd about it." Getting to decide your style after years of repression tended to do that. "How have you been doing? Anything new in your life?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod, "Do you feel like you're enjoying it then? I'ts not an additional thing that you have to handle? And you can always simply let someone else manage it and you can work on designs. DO it on your own time and let yourself feel whimsical. There are plenty of people that can handle the bureaucratic tasks it takes to keep a small business going. You odn't need to have to tend to thsoe details." She would muse.

"IT's good to have Marie-Ange back. She is a dear friend of mine. And.. I've had a clone that I've been keeping an eye on until she found her own way." Emma would deadpan. NOt a 'clone' of herself.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Oh it's great! I do a few designs but I also got together a group of graffitti artists from Gotham and gave them legitimate jobs as designers. They're really doing good. I've got a whole line of 'vigilante and hero' inspired designs ... Even got Captain America to autograph a few to sell as limited edition items with part of the proceeds going to charity." Gabby babbles on about it, but happily so. While it might not have seemed something she might have actually been interested in, she really, really was enjoying it. A creative outlet that didn't involve violence. Something rare for someone in her family to have.

The talk of Marie-Ange draws another warm smile and she risks a nod in spite of the pressure of the rock on the back of her neck. It miraculously doesn't slip off. "She's great to have around. I've introduced her to a few of my fellows that work with more occult things... But that's up to her ultimately." A light clearing of her throat comes, and an eyebrow raises. "A clone? Who?" Of course she was interested in hearing of that being one herself.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Lovely. You could perhaps ask Ms. Van Dyne to take some of your designs sometime if she likes them. Or see if youc ould liscence some small things from the Avengers or the Justice League. But I do understand if you want to keep things small so you can enjoy it and do it as you wish, and not be overwhelmed with popularity." She would lean over and prop up her head.

"DIvine. I'm not sure if you've met her. She's.. A clone of a Kryptonian. SHe had ar ough time of it. But she seems to be figuring out her life. I'll be there for her if she needs it.. but I don't want to stifle her."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Kryptonian." There's familiarity there in that, and for a moment Gabby's eyes darken with concern at this. The name is tucked away. Another clone, another like Conner? Quite possibly. She already felt for him quite a bit having seen what he'd gone through during her time with the Outsiders. "No, I never met her, but I'll keep an eye out. If she ever needs another clone to talk with who can understand something of it, feel free to put her in contact with me," she offers.

"Eh, I'll keep the shop small and local for now. I don't want to risk trying to grow too fast too soon to begin with. But maybe. Janet's not really my type though." A little too bougie for her.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod, "I'll make sure and pass that along if she needs it. And feel free to approach her own your own if you wish. She's rather easy to recognize." Emma would lighty deadpan. As if a two meter tall dark haired goth clone of Power Girl would be easy to miss in the crowds.
"Understood dear. For something you do at your own time and fun, it's good to not let it consume you and take that away from you."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney draws a deep breath inhaling the scents of the place. The smell of the scented oils, the candles that were lit not far off. There was an under current of cleaning chemicals too but that wasn't so bad after things had aired out awhile. It was just all the smells of this place.

"Yeah. Just earning a bit as I go, taking care of my folks. I'm still working to try and set up a decent ... portfolio?" Was that the right term? Yeah it was. "Given how long lived my family can tend to be I want to start early to ensure I have what I need in the future. Not that I need a lot, but that might change."

Looking back over to Emma she asks, "Other than Divine, anyone new in your life? Any romaaance?" She teases lightly.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm over on her arms, the stones digging into her more as she would let out a sigh of relaxation. The scents chosen carefully from her favorites. Stretching out her neck for a moment before reutrning over to Gabby.

"You have a long life ahead of you. Remember you don't have to get ready for the next several decades now. You can take your time and don't have to rush itno it. Also do remember that you're cute enough to rob a bank and no one would mind. Weaponize that."

Emma would laugh at the question. "I'm far, far too busy for such a thing nor do I have the temperament."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I'm worrying about it now so I won't have to worry later. Maybe it's being over prepared, but I think it'll help me avoid stress later in my life too." There's a pause as Gabby considers about the bank robbing. "Not my style. Maybe rob a few personal safes of executives, could get some good black mail material that way too. Keep them off my back." Good to know she wasn't above a bit of petty theivery.

The mention of temperament earns a grin from her. "Ah well. You never know though, maybe you'll at least find some good company at some point." Her grin deepens along with a little blush as she blurts out, "I've got a boyfriend and girlfriend now. Yes they know about each other, they're also dating."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm, "Very well, as yous ee fit. It's your life and your judgements as to what's best. You have the rest of it to look forwards to after all. So no sense in avoiding something you feel that it's a necessity. And that's very pragmatic of you. Good forethought. That's what it takes to get ahead in your business."

She would smile, "My lifestyle means that romantically I'm limited to thsoe within it and I can't stand the vast majority of them. A relatinoship is based upon mutual respect and trust, and while I respect some, I trust few."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I get that. I do. I'm lucky I have a bit of freedom in that myself. Neither of them are int he same business though Bunny wants to be. Tommy's a bit more jaded but a good guy." A little wistful smile creeps over her as she talks of her relationship. It sobers a little with understanding though.

"Yeah. I tried dating within my teams before and that was not exactly good. Plus I'm one of the leaders in another at the moment so I can't even consider that in that team. Probably a good thing there, for me. Still."

Her expression softens to one of sympathy. "You know you can trust me, right? If you ever need anything that I can help with I will."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm, "I know that I can, Gabby. And that won't change. However, I'm not the type that could conceal something of this magnitude from another. I have no need to keep up appearances. And I'm too paranoid to open up." Emma had long since clinically come to terms with her romantic life.

"It is quite ismply not something I'm actively pursuing nor would I quite expect to have come available."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Eh, that's fair. I can understand that." There's a long, thoughtful pause as Gabby considers a few things. Thinking. "... I don't suppose you would have any advice how to possibly break the fact that I'm now unavailable to someone I had a fling with, who is potentially a bit jealous in spite of having assured me he didn't want a relationship in the first place?"

"Because I'm gonna have to have that chat soon before things get more awkward."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would glance over at Gabby, "Well, I prseume byasking me it's someone that you wish to remain on good terms with rather than be blunt? Or do you not want to antagonize them for other reasons so you don't feel like youwant to be direct or even confrontational over it?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney purses her lips together in that hesitant, ducklip manner. A breath is let out and she drawls, "Boooth?" Unfortunately this would likely require a little more explanation. Sighing, she shakes her head or starts to. That rock starts to wobble so she stills quickly. Her eyes dart away, then back, as she begins to explain.

"I'm sure you know some of my contacts and friends aren't on the right side of the law. I just kind of... I don't know. Forgive easily. Well, I recruited one who has magically provided powers to the occult group I help lead so I do want to keep things on good terms."

She pauses to chew on the corner of one lip. "But he has a temper. A big one. And I noticed he's been glaring at any guys I hug lately."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod over softly at Gabby, "So a cofnrontation is quite likely in the matter. And he's likely to go charging after whomever you're involved with no matter how you break it to him." shewould be thoughtful. "I can only suggest being up front about it. Be blunt, tlel them that you've found someone that's special to you and that you'r ehappy, and that if they're a good friend they should be happy for you. Make sure you have sufficient backup onhand if they do get into a brawl and ensure that your boyfriend is not around for it. Depending on how they handle it there may or may not be a melee."

Considering over. "After the fight, things will calm down. They'll have gotten it out of their system and also understand that you've moved on."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
The advice is considered thoughtfully. It was on par with what she was already considering, but it was nice to have some validation on it. The part about getting it out of their systems however was something she hadn't thought of yet.

"Well luckily Tommy is a speedster so he's faster than Cain if it comes to that. I'll do that though. Thanks!" Oops. Did she just blab who it was? Oops.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would glance over at Gabby lightly in amusement. "No problem. Just sometimes fights do get things out of the systems of teenagers. It will let them process things and once they've gotten being an idiot out of the way, will let htem calm down. And you're welcome."

She likely doesn't mean David Cain there, nooo..

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Oh. OH. Um." Perhaps that's a fact she should have shared. Gabby blinks at Emma a time or two only to grin sheepishly. "He's not a teenager. I mean Tommy is," she hastens to add about it, only to clear her throat again. "Right. I'll keep that in mind."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would ah, "I see. I'll also note that I'm not among the best to give such guidance. I appreciat eyou trusting me.. But, if one of the individuals is whom I think it is.. You might want to have a higher power give you some feedback."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"You have way more experience in dealing with problematic men than I do either way, Emma," Gabby points out with a chuckle of amusement. Her eyes were filled with the same amusement as she continues to grin toward her friend. "I do appreciate the advice even if it's not perfect. And... yes, yes it is who you think."

"I'll see if I can have my resident witch around when things go down. Or if they go down." There's a long pause and she mutters, "I really should watch my phrasing more."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would ah, "I might say that goes a bit more than problematic.. But at the end of the day, he is a reasonable man and once he gets the machoism out of his system will understand it. Just make sure the exchange is made somewhere that won't mind if a few buildings collapse."
