Synopsis: Starfire and Beast Boy get caught up on a few things Titans and beyond.
Cast of Characters: Koriand'r, Gar Logan

Koriand'r has posed:
And so, as it was - as the sun was starting to come down, and as Starfire was starting to relax for the day - the woman seemed troubled. This was obvious for her - she tended to wear her emotions on her sleeve. A glance to the side, and as she rises to a stand from the sunchair she had set herself upon, she starts to get up.

It was almost dinnertime, after all, with the sun going down as it was.

And her growling stomach knew no boundaries.

Gar Logan has posed:
Being so close to dinner, certain members of the Tower might have a bit of a built-in timer or radar. They just know when it's about time to eat.

In Beast Boy's case, it's almost always a good time for food, formal dining times or not.

Having been out for a flight, stretching his wings, he approaches the roof of the Tower after circling a few times, giving himself a bird's-eye view of the cleanup in progress, removing that big red X from the side of the building. Stupid...whoever it was!

As he angles closer, having taken the guise of a hawk this time, he lands softly as he returns to normal in the process. Toward one side, motion. Kori getting to her feet.

Koriand'r has posed:
Kori, much like Gar, was very food oriented. Tamaraneans were funny like that.

With her purple boots finding purchase on the rooftop, her green eyes - alight - look upon Gar Logan properly. A wide smile spreads across her lips. A green hawk? Of course that could only be...

"Garfield!" she enthuses. "Whatever happened to the side of the building? I have seen the 'x' flying in, but I did not know it," she says. "Is this perhaps, the mark of a criminal?" she says.

Star had been around, yes. But she still spent most of her time outside of the tower. So it was rare to see her around; and she was nearly bubbling, it may seem, looking upon Gar. It had been a little bit of time since they had spoken last.

Gar Logan has posed:
When he turns from green hawk into green teen, there is still no costume yet, just casual clothing. Gar is in a white and black raglan shirt, jeans, sneakers. Kori's big smile is infectious, leading to a half-grin of his own as he raises a hand in greeting. "Hiya, Star. I guess you saw it too, then. It was pretty hard to miss. Vic's been getting it cleaned up, but it's been all over social media already. I don't think it really means anything, but we're looking into it."

Clearing his throat, he glances around before his attention settles back on the Tamaranean. "I also guess you heard there are more of us back around, and some new people starting to hang out too." His hands clasp in back of him, leading to him rocking back and forth on the balls of his shoes, the ones with paw-print soles.

Koriand'r has posed:
"Of course I did!" says Starfire, "In fact, I have even seen them. What do you think about it? Seeing the tower full of life and love again?" she asks, tilting her head a bit to the side. "Do you feel jealous, or glad?" she asks, her big green eyes blinking slowly.

But the smile blossoms, sure enough.

"I am uncertain what to think, myself," she says. "I do not feel as though I 'fit' anymore," she says. "But perhaps I just need to try still."

Gar Logan has posed:
"You know..I'm not sure what to think of everything yet either," Gar confesses, rubbing the back of his neck for a few seconds. "All I know is I wasn't happy with the way we all left, and it took me a couple years to build up the strength to come back here and try again. I was doing a lot of stuff out in Hollywood, and it was fun, but there was still something missing..in here." He touches the place over his heart, his eyes open and wide, baring something to Kori that he's already shared with others.

"So Dick and I tried coming back here, and Raven was the only one here and she wasn't in a good place. I almost left again right then and there, but I didn't. I met someone who was a fan of mine and we both kind of helped each other with some things, and I kept coming around here even if Raven kept herself shut in. Then one thing led to another, and look at where we all are now. Almost everyone's back, and there are new people around, and I remember what it was like to be new but now I'm one of the experienced ones, kind of...so, yeah."

Koriand'r has posed:
"We do not know how to be the experienced ones," admits Starfire. A beat further. "At least, I do not," she adds, her tone of voice growing somber. A long breath drawn in, and released - in the fading sunlight, her eyes seemed to shine all the brighter, her eyes looking back towards Gar. "And have you found it?" she says. "What was missing inside of your heart?" she asks, her words soft - gentle - nonjudgemental.

"I have not met Raven again yet," she says.

"She is most... I recall her enjoying me, at times, but most of the time, I think I upset her, just a bit," she says.

"Have you spoken much with her?" she asks.

Gar Logan has posed:
Kori's got half a foot of height on Gar. Standing a few feet back makes it easier for him to look at her face without feeling like he's too short. "And all /that/ stuff happened and I wasn't there that long and..yeah." No need to go over it all again. "I guess I need a group like this around me to feel like I belong, like I'm doing something that matters. I tried some solo stuff on the west coast and it just wasn't the same. I didn't have anybody I could just relax and laugh with while we scarfed a pizza or played video games or stayed up all night watching bad movies. So..yeah, now that I'm back here, I think I'm finding what I was missing."

This does bring a genuine smile to his face. The team always knew him as the jokester, the kid they might have wanted to put in timeout more than once, but somehow he helped hold them all together. That's even more the case now than before.

"Ahhh, Raven," he adds, averting his eyes for a moment as he says more quietly, "You know she scares the hell out of me sometimes, but I'd still do anything I could to help her, even if it was super dangerous. She's doing better now, but I still don't see a lot of her. I'm trying to give her whatever space she needs now, because I may have kinda told her she'd have to get rid of me herself if she really didn't want me or the rest of us back around. I'm glad she didn't."

Koriand'r has posed:
"We were children then - more than we are, I suppose," says Starfire. Her eyes narrow, and she looks up towards the night sky. "It was easy to just eat and be with each other, than to..." Starfire pauses a beat, and a smile, warm and full, spreads across her lips as she looks down to Gar again.

"I am very glad that she did not as well," she admits.

"I believe that Raven still wants us here," she says. "Even if she does not think that she does all of the time," says Starfire. A step forward - and while Starfire wouldn't force the matter, she would lift her arms up to wrap around Gar in a hug, if he so wished it. "We should remain here, for her, if nothing else," she says. Stepping back - warm hug or no.

"She needs it more than any of us."

Gar Logan has posed:
Grinning again in that often charming, boyish way, Gar's snaggletooth shows up and makes it all look a little more silly. "I'm glad, too. Hey, I'm still a teenager. I don't know how Tamaraneans age, but I know I've had to do a lot of growing up already and I don't want to have to be an adult all the time yet. There's a lot of room for fun."

Clearing his throat, he adds, "And being there for each other. For Raven, for you, for Vic, for the newer ones like Kian, like Vorpal.." Who he knew as Terry first, so /that/ was quite a change to deal with. "A lot has changed, but we're all still ourselves, right?"

He's not one to turn down a hug most of the time, so it takes no real coaxing to get him to meet Kori halfway, stepping into it for a firm one. "I almost forgot," he remarks quietly, "I needed others, too."

Koriand'r has posed:
"We age much like humans do," says Starfire, her smile growing bright yet - did it ever do anything else? "I am trying to earn the cash with other things, but I think I would rather try to find something other than modeling," she says. "Although it is most easy - you just allow them to take photographs of you, and wearing their clothes in a beautiful manner," she says.

A pause though. "Even if I do not stay with the Titans full time - perhaps I can remain a friend. I would like to do that for you, for Raven, and those I know," she says, with her smile drawing down a bit. Less bright, but more... friendly. More real, rather than pure, unadulterated joy.

"I hope that the best parts of ourselves never change, and for you, Gar, I think this part would be the happiness you bring to others. It is easy to laugh around you," she says. "And easier still to smile. You were always there when I needed a friend, and you could always be relied upon," she says.

"So if you need me, I am here, always, yes?" she says, giving an extra squeeze in the hug.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan does have to look up now, arms wrapped around the alien warrior. "Modeling is kinda like acting," he suggests. "People say one thing but all they're thinking about is how much money they can make off of what you can do, or how you look. When they don't think they can make any more, you stop getting job offers, then you have to take crappier jobs to get by."

"They'd be stupid to ever stop offering you modeling gigs, but you have to make sure they aren't exploiting you, trying to get you to do something you don't want to do," he goes on. Now where did he learn all of that?

After a moment, he gets back to the team talk. "You gotta at least come around whenever you can, even if you don't get your old room back. I know the others will appreciate it, and we have that alien bird dude, Kian. The two of you could talk to each other about what that's like, but he's still learning English. He loves to fly, too. Me? I'm always gonna make the bad joke, because if everyone else can laugh at something because of me, that's all I need."

The squeeze doesn't exactly squish him, but it does draw him in enough that he holds a short breath before he returns it as best he can. "I was reliable? Are you sure?" he questions. Might be a joke, in fact.

Koriand'r has posed:
"Oh, yes, Garfield," she says, finally releasing him from that (oversquishy) hug. "I am most certain," she says. "Except when I would say otherwise in play," she says, her nose crinkling up as she waggles a finger at him. "And I will take your advice, but I have done this for some time - I have heard, by now, of bad modeling shows, and I do not think that they will be so unwise as to do this to me. For my wrath shall be terrible," she says, features grim.

"But for now, I think I will let you go inside and get food - I think that I would like to do the same as well," she says.

Her stomach gurgles, accenting the point, and she gets a playfully sheepish look, complete with a roll of her eyes. "And I will meet this Kian. He seems most pleasant," she says.

Gar Logan has posed:
"I know /I/ wouldn't try to mess with you like that if I was asking you to do a modeling gig," Gar answers, stepping back to smooth out his shirt again. "And since I haven't heard of any photographers being punched into orbit lately..." he adds, sounding like he's saying something conspiratorial.

Then, he hops up onto a shoulder of the taller Tamaranean, only as a budgie. "Can I get a ride? I got a sudden craving for crackers!"

Koriand'r has posed:
Starfire was more than comfortable with BudgieGar on her shoulder, and she casts a smile his way. "I will need to ask you, sometime, what you did in these last few years," she says. "If it is not a grim tale unworthy of telling," she says. With a kick and a jump, Starfire was in the air, easily tilting down towards one of the open windows upon the tower. It would be a short flight, but a flight nonetheless.

"I am grateful to have spoken with you, Gar. Much of my heart is lightened now, where once I felt heaviness," she says.

And quite soon enough, they would both (or maybe just Star) - be consuming food at a rate that might put the fledging new Titans out of business!
