Cast of Characters: Robert Marksman, Rachel Summers

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman comes walking out of the Wakandan embassy, having just finished up a meeting. Today he is dressed different than his normal attire. He is wearing a very expensive and tailored suit. He even has a briefcase with him. The ever present sunglasses still there as he turns to walk to the side of the gate and pulls out a phone to make a call.

Rachel Summers has posed:
Clothing styles are less important to Rachel than mindset. The mental clothing, so to speak, is more important to her. She finds herself in the city today.. she's not exactly searching for anything in particular. She's just trying to be around people who aren't so focused on one particular goal, and going about achieving it all wrong.
In essence, she just wants to be around regular people whose background thoughts won't ping her as so obsessed. But either way, she is cloaking her appearance as usual. Her facial scarring hidden behind telepathic glamor because ... it's not shame on her part. It is expedience. People tend to react badly when they see her hound scars. It's just.. they are ugly and attention getting. But then that familiar tingle hits her brain. She closes her eyes as her instinct tells her... hunt... chase... capture... kill. She swallows and takes a deep breath, turning to regard the well dressed man exiting the embassy. She ends up drifting that way, but doesn't interrupt as.. well, it'd be rude to do so to someone making a phonecall.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman gives the person on the other end of the phone an address, and then after hanging his phone up will put his brief case down between his feet, and starts to remove his tie. He will about then notice the red head and gives her a look over and a smile. Once his tie (silk and not clip on) is off, he will roll it up and slide it in his pocket. He squats down to get his briefcase again and looks back to Rachel with a nod and checking her out a bit.

Rachel Summers has posed:
"For the record, a tie like that should never be -rolled- up." says Rachel. But she inclines her head and studies the man for another long moment, "Please forgive the intrusion. Have I seen you at the school?" she asks, "Sorry, Xavier's school I mean." Her voice is hesitant, but not unsure. Weird to have one and not the other.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman smiles a bit at her, and says "Am sure my brother would tell me the same thing but god I hate wearing ties." He looks over to her, and shakes his head a bit and says "Xavier's school? No, I don't believe I have been there, what type of school is it?"

Rachel Summers has posed:
Huh. Maybe the guy is a latent mutant who hasn't manifested yet. He might be entirely unaware, and it would be terrible to ruin a guy's day with a bombshell like that. "Oh, just... you remind me of someone I know. A few someones, but it's a school for the gifted. My mom works there is all." yes, she's dancing around the issue.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman hmms and says "Xavier's school for the gifted, Now that ya say that, I do believe I know a young lady who mentioned going to school there, but no, I was public schools with a tutor until I went to college." He will smile and offer her his hand "Robert Marksman."

Rachel Summers has posed:
"Huh." mutters Rachel. She's doing her best to not present emotional reactions here. She looks at the proffered hand for a long second before she reaches to accept it. "Rachel." she states, not going so far as a last name. She just shakes the hand and returns her hands to her pants pockets. "Please forgive me though. I... I just had a weird feeling that something was unusual about you, but I guess I'm wrong."

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman smiles a bit and says "Well, you never know I believe there is something unusual or at least interesting abut most people, maybe have lunch with me, and we can talk about it." About then a bicyclist messenger will show up. "One moment." He will beg pardon of Rachel, check the messengers credentials and then hands over his briefcase, and tells the man an address that is on the same block as Stark towers. "Marksman Industries, right next to the building with the big A." He will tell the man and chuckle giving the guy a tip before he heads off. If Rachel pays attention she may see just the barest glow of red on the inside of his sunglasses while he is looking away from her to the messenger. As the rider heads off with the briefcase he will turn back to Rachel "I thought about sending the tie off with the case, but never know when I might have to put the da.. dang thing back on." Yea he tries to watch his language in front of the lady "So food, chat?"

Rachel Summers has posed:
Well, Rachel doesn't look for visual cues usually. She relies on her telepathic powers to give her the cues she needs. "So." she begins, a bit confused, "Do you normally invite absolute strangers you met thirty four seconds ago to dine with you?" She inclines her head curiously, "That seems like strange behavior to me. But..." she shrugs, "I could eat, so why not? It's not like I am worried about you trying anything funny." She doesn't explain why of course. She's not gonna explain to a total stranger that she has some cosmic psionic entity bonded to her soul.
Either way, she looks left, then right, and then looks back towards Robert, "So, where do you want to eat?" she asks.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman looks to her and smiles "Well when a lovely lady comes up to a man, and asks if she knows him, that could be one reason to ask her out to get to know her better." He offers her a smile, and adds "And then when she mentions a connection even if not as full as thought it gets more so." He hmms a bit and says "I know of this pub in Bushwick (Mutant town), would you care to go there for lunch?" He asks watching her reaction. She may pick up on a bit of caution but also curiosity coming from the man.

Rachel Summers has posed:
See, that's the problem. Rachel is a mutant. She hangs with some mutants but she is getting sick and tired of everything being ALL ABOUT BEING A MUTANT. She closes her eyes and just wants to be a person, a young woman. And stop caring about what genetics did to her and hers.
But then she opens her eyes and nods, "Bushwick's fine. Been there a lot." In fact, the last time she was there she kind of imploded a truck full of troops hunting down mutants with her brain. Oh yeah, and burst into flame visually. But that's beside the point. Some people there might recognize her is all.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman nods, and says "Care to walk or should we get a cab, this time of day I am not sure which would be faster." He offers a smile to that one, and says "I met the other I know from the school you mentioned, while I was working at the clinic there. Perhaps you know her a Miss Pryde?" He will ask her. He waits to see if the lady wishes to walk or wants the cab before either starting the trek of trying to flag down a cab.

Rachel Summers has posed:
"You know. This -is- New York. There's always the option of the subway. Somewhere between taxi and walking..." offers Rachel. She rediscovered subways recently, and since the war destroyed them all in her future, she has become enamored with using them lately. But she grins at the mention of Ms. Pryde. Certainly there are millions of people with similar names. Hundreds if not thousands in New York. Spelling can't be spoken aloud after all... Bushwick and Pryde do form a connection in her mind. "I think I might have met her before. Sure." she offers.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman nods, and says "Then the subway it is." He will smile and start in that direction. "Seemed she had ran into a bit of trouble, and I made sure she was not hurt to bad." He will pay for both of them once they get to the turn style. He does keep an eye on his wallet they are in a place it is smart to after all. So your a friend of Kitty's I take it from that reaction, good. I did not want to have to play run from the jackass today." He waits there in the station with her for the train, actually seeming a bit more relaxed in the slightly darker area, but his glasses stay on.

Rachel Summers has posed:
Snorting, Rachel shakes her head, "If you felt that -you- had to protect her, then she was obviously being nice and letting you think you were needed. That girl can take care of herself and then some. She's one of the best fighters I ever met." Of course, she is remembering Kate, not Kitty. Either way, she shrugs, "But yeah, Kitty is a friend. But still..." she strides down the stairs to wait for the train also. But once it arrives, she steps inside, not worried about sunglasses indoors or at night. Some people are just people. They have affectations or the like.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman nods a bit and says "I am sure she can take care of herself, but with you mentioning the school, thought you might have been looking for her. I did not know if you were friend of hers or someone who might have been looking to catch her unaware, so just trying to look out after a friend. Speaking of which you said I remind you of someone who went to the school, by any chance figured out who it might be?"

Rachel Summers has posed:
Snorting, Rachel shakes her head, "I mentioned the school because I noticed... well... noticed something that made me wonder if you'd been there is all. I'm kinda weird myself y'know?"

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman 's brow raises a bit behind the glasses. He has not been told the school is for mutants, but does make him wonder a bit at this. "Well you seem a lovely lady as I said earlier. So what brings you out and about New York today, as I am sure you say I had a meeting had to attend to at the Embassy.

Rachel Summers has posed:
"You can stop trying to butter me up by the way." says Rachel. She has a rather no-nonsense attitude despite her general appearance. "But in case it's important, I was just in the city to get -away- from some intensely emotional people. I'm not a big fan of spending a lot of time around traumatized minds." A pause and then she sighs, "Well that's a giveaway. I read minds." she mutters.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman smiles and says "Not overly trying to butter you up." He hmms and nods a bit to this at the speaking of reading minds and the getting away from some people. "If your trying to be around less people we could maybe hit Majorelle. It is a smaller place, but food is a bit more ritzy if your ok with it." He offers "I am sure Bushwick might be stressful on you as a lot of folks there are pretty much just bundles of stress.

Rachel Summers has posed:
"It'll be fine." states Rachel. "Part of my psionic is... well I can sense through my mind sense... and I really don't know how it works, but I can sense mutants. Don't like to advertise that one a lot because... it got me into a -lot- of trouble for about fifteen years."
She says this softly before asking, "You mind if I talk to you a more... sneaky way?"

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman looks to the woman, and seems to ponder it for a moment. He looks her over, as if trying to decide and then will nod his permission. He is not quite sure what to expect so, he grips the pole he is holding on to a bit tighter, but makes sure not to bend it.

Rachel Summers has posed:
So, it sounds like a radio in the head because that's what Rachel does with it. She knows that it's easier for most people to have it seem like something familiar.
<<Just think out loud. Think things you -want- transmitted and they will be. This is not me reading. This is me setting up a channel you can use if you want. But no deeper than that.>> she reassures as she turns to stare out of the train as it starts to slow down.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman hmms and nods his head a bit to this and will look over to her <<A bit odd, but interesting I will admit so, you picked up on the fact, I was a mutant, and that is what got you to ask about the school?>> He may need a bit of coaching reacting to the communicating and real world at first as it is new, but after a few moments thinking of it sorta like a blue tooth phone call he will have the hang of it better.

Rachel Summers has posed:
<<Bingo.>> is all Rachel replies with as the doors open and she steps tot head off the train. <<So. Mister Marksman, what is it that -you- can do?>> she asks mentally as she strides up the stairs, eyes panning about the area of Bushwick.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman smiles a bit and as they walk he will say "Well, I have a few vision powers, but seems my body has become a conduit to another dimension. I can harness that energy in many ways from allowing me to do energy blasts, fly, form armor around myself, and more. Somewhat like the Human torch but with a wider array of abilities. As they get off the subway Robert's phone rings, and he says "Excuse me a moment." He nods a bit on the phone then back to Rachel "Can I get a rain check on food, seems I am needed at the clinic."

Rachel Summers has posed:
"Take your time." remarks Rachel as she looks left, then right, then basically makes it to nobody (but Robert) is paying attention to her as she just.. lifts off the ground and floats away. "Another time."
