Synopsis: A traffic accident with a fire hazard results in the best of New Yorkers showing through.
Cast of Characters: Mercy Thompson, Heather Danielson, Colleen Wing, Kitty Pryde, Shen Kuei

Mercy Thompson has posed:
It's spring time!

Spring time. For sure.

Or, it's supposed to be spring time, but today it seems like Mother Nature is having a little bit of a breakdown.

Yeseterday was warm, but today there's a chill in the air that makes it feel like a very cold autumn or early winter day. If you squint hard enough you might even see a little bit of snow drift down here and there, but it's definitely spring!

Definitely.

Either way, the lack of warmth doesn't stop people from going out and about. There's things to do, people to meet, places to be and the cramped roadways and sidewalks definitely show foot and vehicle traffic flowing at a steady pace.

Up until it isn't. It starts innocently enough. A person at a corner steps out into a crosswalk without really looking and just as that person steps out a car zooms forward. The driver immediately tries to brake, but with that chilly weather there's slick spots upon the sidewalk and sadly, he just happens to hit that slick-spot. It causes the car to spin right out of control before it hits another.

*CRASH*

That's the sound of metal and plastic smashing against metal and plastic as the two cars ram into one another.

The car behind it likewise can't brake in time and it too ends up in the pile. Soon enough a domino effect begins to happen in the cramped lanes.

Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom.

Thankfully and perhaps ironically, the dude jay-walking is quite okay, though he stands there frozen as the cars begin to pile up. All he can do is kind of stare wide-eyed at the carnage that he possibly caused?

For Mercy Thompson, she just steps out of a local shop package in hand. She has enough time to place it beneath her arm before the squeal of tires grabs her attention. That causes her to shift her attention outward toward the noise and what she sees immediately makes her say, "Oh no."

Heather Danielson has posed:
Chinese food is awesome. Don't let the joke about being hungry again right away get to you. Rice is starchy, starch does that. But Heather has a beef and broccoli order in her hands. She doesn't really care about the cold weather. In fact, her body adjusts easily to such differences.
So her less covering clothing choices aren't so unusual. But she -does- have a light jacket on just do avoid making people stare. Well, stare for -that- reason. Staring because of who she is or how they like to look at her. That's different. She welcomes that. I mean if she didn't, she wouldn't be a bikini model, right?
Either way, she had a mouthful of food as she was heading towards the Chikara Dojo. She even had a second order in a bag dangling from her arm. She had -planned- to offer that to Sensei Wing, if Heather herself doesn't consume it on the way.
But then... the booms began, and the crashes happened. But she takes four quick steps forward and reaches with a free hand (while chewing a mouthful of savory saucy beef) and does her best to yank the guy out of the street.

Colleen Wing has posed:
An afternoon off, it was not something that Colleen had the pleasure of having often, but since het latest "outing" and the inuries garnered from it, she had decided that a litte bit of rest was in order. Classes cancelled, practice your Kata's kids. The night prior, her friend Kitty had come over. Colleen had insisted that she was fine, but who was to turn down a little bit of company and assistance when your are recovering? Certainly not Colleen, and Kitty was great company. Besides, she had a couch and if a friend needed to crash there, there was space...not a lot, but there was space. That is exactly what Kitty had dobe as the night had grown later and she was told by Colleen. "Nope. Not travelling back on the bus this late...not safe." How protective.

The day had been spent relaxing a bit, having lunch and conversing with Kitty, that was until the loud crashes were heard outside the window. A quick peek out the second story of her Dojo and Colleen rushed to her stairs and out onto the street, trying to survey what had happened and who might need help. Bare feet pad along the sidewalk, a pair of red flannel pajama bottoms and a t-shirt that said "Made in Japan" on it. Yes, she came outside prepared.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty had come over to the dojo the night before, bringing with her a surprise. A box of her mother's baked goods that had been sent as a care package the other day. It was Kitty's turn to return the favor of introducing Colleen to a few new treats. Hamantash and basbousa and rainbow cookies were enjoyed while watching the Hallmark channel, taking care of the injured young Japanese woman, and eventually dozing off.

Kitty hadn't been expecting the cold weather the next day, having just worn shorts and a t-shirt which Colleen would have seen had an image of the Milky Way on it and an arrow pointing to a spot on the rim clarifying that "You Are Here" as if in a helpful way. Though as she comes outside the dojo at the sound of the accident, the t-shirt is covered up with a sweatshirt of Colleen's with Japanese writing on it, which for any who can read it translates to "Cute But Psycho".

Kitty's ponytail sways behind her as she rushes outside and looks at the large accident. The degree of damage to the fronts and backs of the cars suggest the speed some of them were traveling at. And not all of them have drivers climbing out of them to take a look at the damage. Kitty pulls out her phone and immediately calls 911 and begins reporting the accident. "Should check on the drivers," she says between talking to the 911 operator. Kitty eyes Colleen and her injuries. "Are you ok to be up?" she asks before moving towards a car.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
The kid continues to watch everything with an open mouth and shocked expression, up until he's grabbed. He offers a very smart response, it goes something like this, "AHHHH!"

But then, when he realizes he's actually being pulled out of the street he can't help but close his mouth with a click. Well, up until he turns to see who rescued him. When he spies Heather he can't help but go big-eyed again as he stutters out, "T-t-thanks!"

The scene is pretty chaotic, but thankfully the crashing booms have stopped. Already people stream out of the business fronts and buildings, and while some start to help, the majority just kind of stare at the unfolding scene. It's the way of accidents so many people just rubberneck.

For those actively helping they'll see about six cars crashed into one another. The first car seems to be ok? Though the drive within is struggling to open his door, eventually it opens with a pop and when it does the driver side window shatters in a spider-web of cracks. At least he's free though!

The drive in the second car can't quite be seen, not with the airbag that's puffed to protect the driver, but there's definitely no movement that can be discerned from within.

The third and fourth care definitely have movement, that fifth car - or rather delivery truck - however is definitely is trouble. Tendrils of smoke begin to curl from beneath the hood of the car. The smoke is dark gray and the scent of something burning wafts through the air.

For Mercy, her sensitive coyote nose picks up that burning smell and she can't help but say, "Fire! Something is definitely on fire.", and without even thinking Mercy sets her package on the sidewalk and starts her own dash towards the large truck that smokes.

The car in front of the deliverly truck, while mostly intact, begins to seep fuel and it slowly drips down upon the roadway.

Colleen Wing has posed:
It is cold and Colleen discovers that quickly, but the situation before her certainly does a lot to help her forget about it. As fast as she can move, she makes her way towards the second car, a hand on her left side ribs as she does so. Upon reaching the car, she notices the driver not moving, pinned behind the airbag and assumed to be unconscious. A quick tug on the door and it does not budge. She quickly moves to the back door and finds it open, pulling it ajar and climbing into the back seat. "Sir? Sir? Are you okay?" There is no resply from the man and she manages with a snall wince to scramble to the front seat of the car in the passenger side, apparently the passenger side airbag not being on or deployed, but finds herself kneeling in some shattered glass.

Her hand extends to his neck as she checks for a pulse. "COme on.." There is a small sigh of relief given as she fells one, but it is not as strong as she would have hope. "Alright. If you can hear me...we are going to..." She peers outside quickly to assess the damage around her, trying to determine if he is safe right now. "I'll be back. I don't want to move you unless I have to."

There is a small moan heard now from the driver, his eyes slowly fluttering open as he gingerly turns his head. "My neck...it hurt."

"Okay, I am going to get you help...just don't move anymore." The young Japanese woman scrambles again to the back seat and out of the car, calling to Kitty. "He is alive. We don't want to move him unless we need to."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde is still on the phone even as she's moving to the cars. As she hears Mercy and Colleen, she adds into the phone, "There's a small truck that may be on fire, and someone complaining of a neck injury. I think we need paramedics, probably more than one ambulance, and the fire department," she says. "I'm leaving my phone connected but am going to help people. Shout if you need me."

Kitty locks her phone to stay open and shoves it into her back pocket. She looks around the situation and focuses on the delivery truck and the spilling fuel as the biggest danger. She rushes past the fourth car telling the people in it, "you need to get out, gas is leaking!"

But she continues past the car and into a restaurant on the sidewalk beside it. Kitty's only in there about 20 seconds before she's emerging with a fire extinguisher in hand. She runs over towards the smoking delivery truck with it.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Help is definitely on the way thanks to Kitty's emergency call. Sirens can be heard echoing, but with the faintness of their wail it's most likely going to take *minutes* for them to arrive.

Minutes that they perhaps don't have.

The man that Colleen's checked on seems relatively stable. He stays as still as he can, it helps that he's a little bit out of it. It's making him pretty darn docile. However that third car? The occupants aren't docile at all. There's three people all together, two adults and possibly a child in the back. The male wrestles with his seatbelt, it's stuck thanks to the crunch of the door nearest him. He definitely has injuries to his hands and face thanks to the shattered window and the driver, a woman, shoves her door open, "Holy hell.", she shouts and then she runs over to the passenger side door. It looks like she's going to try and force the door open, to try and get the man out.

Mercy, for her part, continues her mad dash towards the truck. The truck that's defintiely *definitely* burning, but before she can make it to the truck her steps falter. She sniffs at the air before she drops suddenly to the pavement and looks beneath car number four. "Oh no." Whispers the woman as she spies the dripping fuel, "Not good.", and with those words Mercy pops back up to her feet. Her gaze immediately goes to Colleen first, as she catches the woman's words about not moving the man within, "I'm pretty sure we're going to have to move him, we have a fuel leak in this car."

Those words are really said for both Colleen and Kitty, as Mercy turns a quick look over to Kitty as she dashes past, "We need to get everyone out fast."

By this time Mercy takes a moment to peer inside the fourth car, "I have a driver and a kid in here!", and while she's not one to flaunt her enhanced strength it's clear the situation warrants it. She grabs the back door and just pulls - it doesn't quite rip off, but it pops over quite quickly.

For Kitty, as she comes back with her fire extinguisher, she might be able to see the flames that begin to lick outward from the hood of the delivery truck. It is definitely an active fire now.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen hears What Marcy has to say about moving him, but she is slightly heistant to do so right at the moment. A neck injury is not something she wants to risk, but it certainly is better than exploding in a ball of flame. However, she does rush to the third car, running up to the woman and trying her best to pull the door open, however the accidents has made it near impposible to do so. Her eyes go to the woman and she grabs her shoulders. "Get your child out...I will take care of him. You have to get the child and get away from the car. Do you understand?" The woman is in shock, nodding wide-eyed, but then moves to the back of the car, opening the back door and moving to secure her child, who is frantiucally crying.

Colleen realizes there is no way she is going to get the door open or the man's seatbelt off by herself, or not with her bare hands. The other two seem very occupied, so the decision is made to run back into her Dojo as quick as she can muster. It is not long befire she returns with her Katana in hand, moving back to the broken window and the man. "Don't move...stay as still as you can. She slips the blade in up where the strap is near the top of the seat and with a flick of her wrist snaps it from the tension. "You are going to have to go out the window. However, the window is shattered glass on the edges. Oh the things we do.

The Katana is then run along the bottom of the window, doing her best to get all the broken glass off the edge, but there are still small pieces. The katana is then dropped to the ground and in the midst of the cold, Colleen takes off her t-thist and lays it over the window base, revealing an athletic sports bra beneath it. "Okay, wrap your arms around my neck and shoulders, tight. I am going to drag you out..if you can help yourself, do so." A small wince is heard as she starts to walk backwards, the man tightly gripped to her neck and shoulders. It is working as he tries his best to assist her.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty looks towards the burning truck. "At most this might delay it I'm afraid, get them out," Kitty calls towards Mercy and Colleen as she takes the fire extinguisher towards the truck. Kitty gets to the hood and stands close in front of it, reaching for the latch to release it.

It must have come loose in the accident, is what most would probably think as Kitty phases the latch so she can move it into the open position, and then pop the hood open. Her training has kicked in and she does what needs doing, not crying out in pain as she burns her hand. She begins spraying the engine fire with the extinguisher. Reducing the number of hot points that could ignite the gasoline, but not eliminating them. She knows she's only bought a little time then as she tosses the extinguisher on the sidewalk and rushes towards the second car that has the man pinned behind the airbag that had complained about his neck.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
The sirens continue to wail in the background as Kitty, Colleen and Mercy try to do the best they can.

For Colleen, the man is definitely doing his best to get out of the car. That poor car is definitely going to have to be declared totaled.

Let's face it the vast majority of these cars will likely be declared totaled. It's the nature of these kind of chain-reaction situations.

Mercy's keen ears pick up Colleen's words to the mother and then the man she's striving to save. She likewise hears what Kitty has to say, about only giving them a short reprieve before the flames begin again. "Got it." Calls out the woman as she ducks into the back seat for the kid, who turns out to be younger than she expected. Possibly one, maybe one and a half, but it's enough to push Mercy to move faster. While she's a pro at pulling out child safety seats (mechanics have to do this all the time) with the pressure on the woman can't help but take an extra long minute to unlock the child's three-point harness, but eventually the click is heard and the Mechanic scoops the baby up. "Here we go." She says in what she hopes is soothing (it's probably not) to the wailing baby. "We'll get your mama in a minute.", and with those words Mercy looks towards the mother who's defintiely unconscious.

"Dang it." Swears Mercy and yes, this is totally swearing for Mercy. "The mother's unconscious." And while she knows they need to get the mother out too, first comes getting the baby over to the side. Hopefully in some helpful bystanders arms.

As Kitty sprays the engine with the fire extinguisher it causes great billows of dark smoke to rise up. The flames find themselves growing smaller, but Kitty's correct. It'll only be a matter of moments before they flare up again. There's just too much oil deep within the engine that's keeping the flames well-fed.

Colleen Wing has posed:
The wincing is masked the best that she can, dragging the man through the window, the white wrap around her rubs now quite visible given the fact her t-shirt was acting as the best glass barrier she could find at the time. "Almost...there." The man does not offer much help, but she is not going to complain or ask about it, and eventually he is pulled from the car, his legs hitting the street below. However, he makes no effort to stand, realizing now as some of the shock subsides that his knee is completely shattered. "Ahhhhh! My knee." There is no attempt to mask the loud scream in pain as he tries to put weight on it.

"Just relax...I'll get you to a safe spot." His hands and face are covered in blood, and becuase of it so is Colleen's neck and cheek where he had pulled himself up to. "Hang on...I don't want to drag you." There is a deep inhale and she adjusts with a literal bite of her tongue to put the man into a fireman's carry, starting to slowy and methodically step by step walk him to where his family has gathered out of harm's way. It is quite clear that the lifting hurts, the young woman actually stumbling once to a knee before rising again and continuing on."

Shen Kuei has posed:
Shen Kuei arrives on the scene wearing a uniform of business suit, dark sunglasses, and matching black trench coat. The suit is a little on the loose side, tailored specifically to allow feats of agility. One might consider the ensemble conspicuous, but in Chinatown, looking like a member of the Triads or other criminal organization has the benefit of the Chinese and Japanese locals not interfering with your business. He currently speaks Cantonese into a cellphone, "Our VIP has been in an accident. The truck is on fire. I am moving to intercept."

Shen then begins a dash, his trench coat flaring behind him for a dramatic effect as he dashes in between on-lookers. His green eyes survey his surroundings quickly, looking for a solution to the inevitable doom of the truck. He finds it in a fire hydrant on the other side of the street. A quick hop and a planted boot draw him on top of a car hood. Another leap brings him on onto the roof of the burning truck. He then pivots and leaps backwards in a long somersault. In mid-flight, he prepares a deep breath, harnessing his focus. He draws a knee up to his chest as he descends. Using a combination of his movement, body mass, decades of martial training, a touch of the mystical force of ki, and a good sturdy reinforced steel boot.. he kicks with enough force to sheer a few bolts, crook the hydrant to the side while damaging the main value.

The result is a fan of water which begins to soak the street, diluting and pushing the gasoline in a direction away from the flames. Finally, Shen Kuei grabs a corner of his trench coat, side-kicks the hydrant once more to increase the water flow then uses the panel of his coat to begin direct the water toward the burning engine to assist with the efforts of the fire extinguisher.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty arrives at the second car. She reaches into her pocket as if pulling something out. "Hold your breath, don't think this stuff is good to breathe in," she tells the man pinned behind the airbag. When she sees him do so, Kitty presses whatever is in her hand against the airbag.

Actually there's nothing in her hand, she just phases the airbag and the contents rush out suddenly in all directions in a sharp puff of unpleasant smelling breeze. The bag instantly is deflated, allowing the man to be accessed more easily.

"Ok, I'm going to hold your head in place and gently pull you out. If you can help move yourself, great, if not, just stay relaxed," Kitty tells him. She gets her hand behind his neck, having to partially phase much of her hand but leaving her fingertips intact to hold his head in one position.

She begins gently pulling him out then, her basic medical training from Hank McCoy and Jean coming in handy. "Just going to lay you down on the pavement here beside the car for now," she says, doing so as she talks to him. Once he's lying still, she continues holding his head in place and turns towards the bystandars who are gawking and not helping. "You, blue sweatshirt, and you, white hoodie. Yes, you, hang up your damn phone and come help me!" she calls out, singling out two men. "You're going to lift him on either side, and carry him to the far sidewalk while I steady his head. Got it?" When they join her and nod, she nods back and gets ready. "Ok. It'll be 1, 2, 3, lift. Pick him up together on lift. Move one step at a time in unison. Ready? 1, 2, 3, lift."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Much like Kitty, Mercy immediately pulls a young woman from the gawkers. "Here hold the baby." With those instructions given and the baby passed over to the shocked young woman, Mercy turns back to the scene.

Her attention shifts over to Colleen and the man she helps and then over to Kitty and then it's back to the fourth car and the unconscious woman within.

With a quickness Mercy hot-foots it back over to the car, even as she spies Shen Kuei appearing on scene. Or rather hopping on a hood of a car before leaping off, "Hey!", exclaims the coyote in surprise before she catches sight of him hopping onto the roof of the delivery van. "Are you crazy!?"

That's really all that can be said as he suddenly leaps off and goes for the hydrant and Mercy likewise remembers what she's doing. The mother. Turning back to the fourth car, Mercy yanks the driver side door open and leans inward. "Come on mama." Murmurs Mercy, "Time to get you out." There's a brief struggle with airbags and seatbelts, but eventually Mercy pulls the unconscious woman out of the car. Just in time as the flames in the truck flare back up to life, higher than before. They burn brightly as Mercy picks the unconscious woman up in her arms and begins to move *away* from the fire and towards Colleen and Kitty and the other wounded.

Though just as she leaves there's the sound of distressed metal before water abruptly washes outward onto the street.

The force and nature of the water does its thing. It pushes that gasoline away and with the aid of Shen's trench coat the engine soon finds itself drenched in water as well.

In the background the wail of the sirens continues to grow louder as the first responders speed through various streets of the city.

Colleen Wing has posed:
The wait of sirens, the cries of pain, the rushing of water...it all simply adds to the chaos and confusion. Colleen manages to get the man to his family, lowering him to the ground in a safe spot, his wife removing her caot to put beneath, a few onlookers rushing his aid as well to cover him as he has started shaking a bit. She simply stays on her knees a moment. Hands and knees on the sidewalk, face and shoulders colored in the blood from the man's hands and face. It is clear that she is exhausted, chets rising and falling with every breath she takes.

An elderly business man approaches her, and kneels beside her, taking off his own trenchcoat and covering her, seemingly not minding the fact she has blood on her. "Don't get up...just sit there. You have done enough." The man slowly rises and moves off to see if any of the victims need assistance.

He did not have to tell her. She was quite content where she was and the thought of standing back up at that moment were the furthest thing from her mind. Her hand went to her ribs and she coughed a few times, moving to lean herself up against a building and closing her eyes a second as the sirens grew closer.

Shen Kuei has posed:
In the usual style, the reward for doing anything heroic or merciful seems to be some kind of discomfort. In this case, Shen is absolutely soaked from head to toe. However, maybe this was all part of his master plan. With the burning engine reduced to a smolder, he lowers his trench coat and very soggily moves over to the truck. He climbs in through the passenger side and appears to be rummaging for a quick second in its smokey interior. There's a brief flare up from the dash which is ineffective against Shen's soaked clothing. Finding his target, the careful eye may notice him stashing a large vanilla envelope into his wet heavy hanging trench coat. As he crawls out, he murmurs in frustrated Cantonese, "Should hire couriers who know defensive driving skills."

He surveys the chaos of the accident with his objective secured. A frown curling on his lips, he removes his droplet clouded sun glasses and tucks them into a pocket. He offers a nod of respect to the elderly gentleman and then approaches Mercy with her unconscious payload. He assists her in bringing the woman near Colleen and Kitty. Kitty is observed coordinating other bystanders with moving the injured. He raises an eyebrow at the illustrated discipline. Finally, Miss Wing is gazed upon. He seems somewhat concerned by her state, breathing difficulties are never a good sign.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde very carefully gets the man who complained about his neck resting on the sidewalk. The sweatshirt with the Japanese writing is pulled off and formed into a shape to help hold his head stable and all his neck to rest comfortably. Kitty looks about the crowd and snaps her fingers at a woman. "Come here please. Need to you to just gently hold his head. Make sure he doesn't move it until the paramedics get her and take over," she asks in a voice that is indeed probably a bit firm for what expects from an eighteen year old directing a woman in her thirties.

Once the woman has complied, Kitty gets back up and looks over to the remaining vehicles. At the sight of a door that has been wrenched open, Kitty looks briefly towards Mercy, having caught how the woman tore it open as she did. The fire hydrant dousing by Shen was less observed while Kitty dealt with the neck injury, though now she has a chance to take in the final outcome, one eyebrow goes up slightly and she looks towards Shen. "Thanks for that," she tells him.

It looks like people have helped the rest away from the cars, and Kitty moves over to Colleen, eying her bandaged ribs. "You ok?" she asks the Japanese woman.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy didn't really expect any one to help her and to be honest, doesn't need it, but does she pass it up? Nope! Instead she flashes a brief smile at the man and offers a quick, "Thanks."

Sure, she still thinks he's crazy for jumping on top of a burning vehicle and such, but hey, he's helping. That earns you a point in the good column for one Mercy Thompson.

Once the unconscious woman is gently placed upon the ground Mercy straightens and looks about much like the others. Trying to see if there's any other people to help or fires to put out. Thankfully, there isn't.

Now she turns back to Colleen, Kitty and Shen and all of the unconscious people. Then her focus turns back to Colleen noting all the blood and the general not-looking-so-hot from the other woman. At Kitty's question, Mercy can't help but add, "The paramedics should be here soon, I think. They're close.", which she can tell thanks to her coyote ears, "Just hang on for a few minutes longer."

Colleen Wing has posed:
Her eyes had been closed, but upon hearing the familiar voice of Kitty, they flutter open and she gives a small nod, accompanied by a half smile through the blood on her face. "Don't let them take me." She laughs slightly and winces a bit again, moving a hand to wipe her face a bit. "I am good. Cold...in need of a shower, but good. Just pushed myself a bit, that's all. It's..his blood." Her finger gestures aimlessely in the direction of the man she pulled from the car.

The young girl that was in the back of the car seems to be tugging on her mother's jacket while she tends to her husband, who is now sitting up. There is a small conversation and a nod. The little girl makes her way over to Colleen cautioly with a Hello Kitty backpack in her hand. She bited her lower lip and pulling something out of it offers it to the Japanese woman, in a soft voice. "Juice pouch?" Colleen cannot help but smile at the young girl and takes. "Your daddy is going to be okay."

The young girl nods, a smile finally coming to her face. "Thank you." Then turns and runs back to her mother.

Shen Kuei has posed:
Shen offers a nod to Mercy at the thanks and stands straight after placing the woman on the ground. A similar somewhat stoic nod is offered to Kitty for her 'thanks'. His eyes narrow for a moment as he hears the words, "Don't let them take me." There could be a number of reasons why people do not want to be taken by the authorities, medical bills are very expensive after all. However, there are other reasons. Reasons Shen is significantly more familiar with. He doesn't ask for permission, he simply bends down and effortlessly lifts the Colleen from the ground, while trying to be a little compassionate for her ribs, but really, its difficult to avoid irritating that kind of injury.

He looks down at Colleen and then toward Kitty who seemed familiar with her. He offers in fairly good accent, only a touch tainted by someone who didn't grow up with the codas of English. "Directions, please. Let's get away before awkward questions follow."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde visually checks on Mercy's condition briefly, though her attention is mostly on Colleen. Kitty is about to help Colleen up when Shen intervenes to help her up. The help seems welcomed, Kitty flexing her burnt hand slightly, feeling the pain of it now that the adrenaline is wearing off.

"Thank you, over here," Kitty says, motioning over to a door beneath a sign that says Chikara Dojo. Kitty pulls out her phone and unlocks it, saying into it, "I hear the sirens coming now, going to hang up," and disconnects the call before the 911 operator can say anything back to her.

Kitty hurries over to the door then to open it for Shen as he's carrying the injured Japanese woman. "We'll get you cleaned up, good as new," Kitty says to her. The girl who gave the juice box gets a warm smile from the teen. "Thank you," Kitty tells her before they head inside.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I'll wait for the paramedics and cops to get her." Mercy offers hopefully helpfully, "You guys take care of yourselves.", and while some people might find it odd that people don't want to go with the paramedics, Mercy doesn't. Listen odd for her is crazy werewolves coming to stay in her place.

Not wanting to go to the hopsital is totally fine.

With that said, Mercy makes note where the trio goes before she drifts back over to the injured people as she awaits the flashing lights and ambulances. It won't take long, thankfully, they really are almost right here.

Hopefully she remembers her forgotten package on the ground, but there's a good chance she won't.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Colleen does not question being scopped up by the stranger. Afterall, he did seem to help and where is he going to take her with so many witnesses. It actually makes her feel a bit better that Kitty is there as well. "Thank you..right up these stairs and to the left...then behind the sliding door." Directions given and then words spoken to Kitty. "Kitty? Can you grab my Katana...it is...I have no idea. In the street somehwere? The car can keep the t-shirt."

As the group makes it into the dojo, the sirens can be heard pulling up onto the scene, the flashing lights outside the dojo windows. Sure enough there is a sliding door just off the dojo wide open from when they left in a hurry. "The floor..the floor works. I don't want to have to clean the bedding or couch."

The room is not larger, the couch is literall seperated from the bed by an end table, and across from the couch is a small kitchen with a table and two chairs. The batheroom to the left of that. There is a door leading out to a small back patio just off the kitchen. With that said, the place kind of looks like two girls had a sleepover that contunued into the next day. There are food cartons on the coffee table, a box of tissues, cans of various beverages and an unmade bed, with blankets on the couch as well. Yeah, it was certainly a /do/ nothing day and prior evening. "I will be fine...just have to get the blood off me and maybe change this wrap."

Shen Kuei has posed:
Shen isn't probably the most comfortable ride. He's completely drenched and the peak human physique beneath his soggy clothing is very solid. Not much cushion for a woman with broken ribs. One consolation is the Chinese man is particularly graceful, well-balanced, and the short journey to the door is without stumble, bump, or jerk. Waiting just briefly for Kitty to open the door, he turns side ways and threads Colleen through the door frame neatly.

The journey up the stairs and to the left is similarly smooth, Shen lowers his center of gravity, keeps his knees bent and almost stalks up the flight of stairs in what might be eerily silent if not for the squish and squeak of his boots. The sliding door is expertly nudged open by a boot toe as Shen presumes Kitty will busy herself with retrieving the Katana.. Wait.. a Katana? Shen doubles takes briefly as he realizes he's carrying a woman into a dojo.

At her request, he will carefully lay Colleen upon the floor. He then heads quickly into her kitchen, sets his vanilla envelope on the counter and removes his trench coat, which he unceremoniously begins to wring out in her sink while murmuring faint profanities in Cantonese, "I hate being wet."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde trots back out to the street after Colleen's request, and as the pair go inside. She finds the katana, cleaning the blade on the hem of her shirt and then sheathing it. The girl trots back over to the door and inside, closing it behind her.

Kitty moves over to the tiny living space. "Thank you for your help," Kitty says to Shen, carrying the katana over to place it back on its stand. She moves over to Colleen's side then. "Think I lost your sweatshirt too," Kitty says sheepishly. It's under the guy's head and probably a bit bloody now too," she says.

Kitty eyes Colleen's bandage and nods. "Well get it changed up. And then you are going to spend the rest of the day in bed relaxing and hopefully sleeping. This was a lot for you in your condition," she says, like the high school girl would even know anything about such matters. Her hands brushes Colleen's shoulder fondly though. "You did good, helping them," she says with a soft smile, before rising and going over to the sink. She turns on the cold water and holds her hand under it, trying to be discrete so Collen won't notice her palm is burned, though Shen probably spots it easily enough.

Colleen Wing has posed:
"I did what I could. In the end I looked like someone who had been in the accident." She laughs lightly, and then the shooting pain. "Ow. Okay remond me not to say anything funny. And if either of you make me laugh..I am going to..." She pauses and exhales again. "Just lay here on the floor...that's what I am going to do." SHe stares up at her cieling talking to the pair who are both in the small kitchen now. "Hey do the dishes while you are in there."

Her hand sgo to lay flat beside her upon the floor. "Oh by the way. I'm Colleen and this is my place. Forgive the mess." Her words are directed towards Shen. "Thank you...you seemed to show up just when we needed it."

There is a small cough heard and another wince. "Don't worry Kitty, I have others. Oh..perfect. I just got this Hello Kitty one in. It's adorable. It's yours. I know the irony..."

Shen Kuei has posed:
Shen grits his teeth as water gushes out of his coat. His boots come next, slipping out them to reveal black socks. He tips each over into the sink, sending more water down the drain. He makes room for Kitty while he searches drawers until he finds a dish towel, which he makes use of without any permission. He rubs down his face and soaks some water from his scalp. He pauses as he notices the injured hand then idly comments, "And you should get that cleaned and wrapped before you get an infection."

He walks over to the patio door and peeks his head out to inspect the situation with the police and paramedics. His frown indicates a lack of desire for any direct interaction with the authorities himself. He turns and abruptly plops to the floor, sprawling out on side, his head propped in his palm with his elbow planted into the floor. "My name is Shen Kuei.. and I will be your honored house guest until the mess outside clears." He then rolls onto his back and folds his arms beneath his head, "And I do not do dishes."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde makes a face towards Colleen and sticks out her tongue about the dishes. "Was directed at me," Kitty offers to Shen. Along with her name. "I'm Kitty. Thanks for the assistance. I'm not sure I could lift certain people by myself," Kitty says, coughing as if her words were a judgment on someone's weight. As if that could be a problem with as fit as Colleen is!

Kitty goes to the bathroom, returning with some first aid supplies. "Let's get you cleaned up first," she says, moving over to get a bowl of water and a rag, before proceeding to give Colleen a sponge bath to clean the blood from her face. She doesn't seem to shy away from the blood, just goes about it as if it is something that needs to be done. But her touch is gentle. "There are some pastries in the tin there if you want to help yourself," Kitty says, motioning to the box that has the treats that her mother had sent in the care package.
