Synopsis: Doctor MacIntyre holds open office hours. Samuel and Sebastian drop in to talk.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Sebastian Winters, Samuel Morgan

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre has been trying to make sure that she meets with anyone that needs to see her. Sometimes she just looks like she's running around like a chicken with her head cut off, but, today is not one of those days. The woman is seated in her office, which is thankfully empty of people at the moment except for herself. She's looking between files and her computer screen, making sure information is correct.

And even though it's sunny out there are curtains that shut out all of the natural light from the windows, leaving the soft light of incandescent bulbs to provide illumination in the office. The door is open though, so probably means she's accepting visitors!

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters enters the outer offices carrying his leather satchel and his usual good looks... well at least how he looks when he's using his powers part way. Currently he is dressed casually, if not a bit too casually with the amount of dust clinging to his clothing especially around the knees on his jeans. It looks almost as if he has been digging in the dirt somewhere, which is infact what he was doing up till a couple hours ago. Fortunately he's had a chance to duck into a restroom on the way through the school campus to the offices to clean up his face and hands.

He pauses as he enters the outer offices and peers around at the empty desks. "Hello?" he says as he tenatively makes his way around the main reception area deeper into the admin area. "I have an apointment?" he says calling out.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan looks up when she hears a voice and there's a smile, "Hello. You must be Sebastian Winters, yes?" she asks as she stands up. She motions with her hand, "Come on in and have a seat, sorry that I've got files everywhere." she states as she clears a few off the desk. "Would you like something to drink?" she asks him as she retakes her seat.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters enters the office and smiles politely. "Yes, I'm Sebastian." he says confirming his name. He walks over and sits down in front of the desk in the offered seat. "Nah it's all good. This campus looks busy a lot of the time." he says as he sets his bag down. There is a distinct clink and clank of tools within it.

He takes a moment to glance around the office and then back to you. He then thinks .oO(Wow is there like, a fountain of youth here or something? Half the staff here look almost my age.) he shakes his head slightly at the thought. "You should have my transcripts from Summerset and the paperwork from my parents." he says, "I also have some more papers that I filled out for the school if you want those now." he says bending down to open his satchel to fish out a protected folder.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a chuckle, "We try to keep things going." she admits as she settles back in her seat. "It's nice to meet you, Sebastian, I'm Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre." she offers in greeting to him.

"I think most of our teachers and things are in their twenties...except for Miss Prince, Doctor Stark and myself." she muses to that. "If we do have a fountain of youth on campus I do not know about it." she adds with a smile. "We have all your files and things, yes. And I can talk those files if you like." she offers. "Have you liked the campus and things so far? Haven't ran into any trouble?" she asks him.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters blinks at that non-plussed, "Sorry did I mumble that? I didn't mean to be rude. Sometimes I think aloud. My head is still up in the hills where I've been digging for arrow heads." he says smiling as he turns over his paperwork. "I tried to go up to Mount Justice but a forest ranger appeared out of nowhere and warned me off over some kind of hazard up there." he shakes his head, "That mountain HAS to be an Algonquan sacred site though. I am itching to check it out." He shrugs.

"Anyway, that's why I'm a bit dusty. I hope you don't mind." he offers in explanation. His voice has an inflection of accent that is both american and also has something from Europe somewhere within it that is hard to peg down exactly. A lot of England though shows through in his speach. There is also a sense of power coming off of him in waves for those who are mystically trained to sense such things. He is definitely being enhanced in some way magically at this moment.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Sebastian and there's a bit of a chuckle, "You might have...or I might have picked up on it. I try to focus on things and it happens sometimes. I don't think it's rude." she tells him. "There are a lot of young looking faces around here." she nods to that. "Oh, arrow heads? Let us know if you find any. We could put a couple on display." she smiles to that.

"I don't mind." she shakes her head. "So I just want to make sure that everyone understands the need for discretion and that they will have privacy here. We're under the cover of a regular high school. So if anyone asks you that is not faculty or tied to the school that is what you should tell them." she states. "Or send them to me." she points out.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters smiles, "Well if I find them on public land, law requires that I register them with documentation on where they are found. But after that I can ask that they be sent here for display." he says in reply.

He nods slowly. He glances around to be sure he isnt being eves dropped upon and asks, "I suppose you'd want to know what my abilities are? I know there isnt a full dossier on me yet... even I don't know all of them yet. Just what I've discovered on my own or by accident. There is... some instruction that comes from my um... source... directly but I have to be in constant contact with it to gain anything from it. Its very slow."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Oh of course we'd follow all the laws and things." Morrigan smiles to that. "Really I think it would be good idea to get some projects and things going for people." she nods to this. "And if you'd like to share what your abilities are, I can note them down in your files. We're wanting to make sure that people know that we're going to be using discretion heavily. If you don't want your powers known of expect by myself and the teachers, then we can keep that between us. If you'd like to share with fellow students, that is also something that is your choice." she explains.

"We want to make sure that people are comfortable while they are learning. Sometimes not having to worry on things can be a complete game changer for people." she admits.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters makes a gesture only someone who wears glasses would normally do but he isnt... its the same gesture people do when pushing their glasses up on thier nose. He does this and shifts uneasily in his chair. "You're the only one here at the school that knows I have any abilities at all. Right? But now its the teachers too? My parents insisted I come here so that I may "stay grounded" whatever that means. It was bad enough the kept be from graduating to university when I was twelve. But I kept my friends at least at the other school. Then I found my powers and so here I am..." He shrugs a little, "Sorry I'm a little confused with the differences in countries and school systems. I hope to maintain my AP standing and maybe allowed to take some of the collegiate courses available here also." he says.

"I'm hoping that I keep my abilities to myself. If you know what I mean, as far as the other students are concerned. If I decide to go into a legally sanctioned hero team or something in the future. I'd like to have a life outside of it still. That's what it means to be grounded right?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to him, "If you don't want the teachers to know, then we can work with that. Our teachers all know that this is a metahuman school. So we are trying to help everyone with being able to live on the baseline, if that makes sense." she states. "Either way, the powers won't be talked on to anyone else unless there is an incident...and I'm guessing if there is an incident then we'll have other things to work on at that point." she admits.

"You'll be able to keep your AP status, absolutely. As well as take any college level courses you like. We're trying to make sure everyone is getting what they want from the school." she tells him. "And of course, I understand wanting to keep it to yourself." she nods.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters nods, "I just use them now for a little... enhancement. I don't have to sleep you see, makes for a LOT of extra study time." he says. Then he hears someone approaching down the hall and godes quiet. "I think we're about to have company."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
Company, in this case, turns out to be a boy and his dog. They are both preceded by a polite knock, and enter only when invited. The first to enter is, in fact, the German Shepherd called Bear, who does a quick circuit of the room before coming back to the door, at which point Sam enters.

He is, much to his horror, quite late. The look on his face is equal parts apologetic and anxious, but perhaps the tardiness can be explained by the fairly bulging folder he's carrying under one arm. "Doctor MacIntyre, please accept my apologies. The tests ran a bit later than expected." Without ceremony, he places the folder on the desk and takes a step back, standing at parade rest.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a smile to Sebastian, "Now do you use powers to not sleep or is it an added benefit? I could use that." she chuckles a bit. "Less time on sleeping would help me get through things much faster." she nods at that in agreement. Then her bright violet gaze goes to the door and there's a curious look when the dog enters, then Samuel does.

"Good afternoon, Samuel. And that's fine. We've got open office hours for that very reason." she states as she takes his file. "And please, have a seat. We're not in any formality here." she smiles to that.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters stands and grins as he sees it is Samuel, they have met, all be it briefly, before here in town. He lets the dog do his job without comment or even so much as a glance "Pourquoi bonjour, comment vas-tu aujourd'hui?" he asks in French... greeing him and asking how he is doing. ((OOC Note> Player only knows a tiny bit of other languages so dont go all French on me LOL)) "I hope Bear is well also I hope?" he asks finally taking note of the animal as he takes his seat once more returning to american English out of politeness. Taking note of his military'esqu behavior while his own posture is much more casual in nature.

Replies to Doctor MacIntyre, "Its... automatic. Oh and by the way what we talked about a moment ago... it's okay if the teacher's know about my transcripts and... capabilities that arent listed." he says with a smile and a knowing nod.

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"Thank you." Sam nods and takes a seat, tilting his chair slightly so he doesn't end up sitting with his back to the door. It also lets him see a few more angles in reflecting surfaces... and yet his posture seems entirely natural. Another nod, this time to Sebastian, and a smile to go with it. "Very well, thank you. And Bear has been enjoying the campus." It all comes out in fluent, unaccented French, before he switches back to English. A hand drops down on top of Bear's head, as if he knew with perfect certainty that his companion was going to be there. A companion wearing the hi-visibility vest of a service animal, and a gaze so intelligent he could probably pass a high school entry test.

"I would have been here sooner, but Bear absolutely needed a break after sitting in a room for all those hours."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a nod to them both, "Well, hopefully we'll get you both settled and things will go smoothly as the school takes on more students." she tells them as she takes the files and settles them on the top of the stack. "Oh I will make sure that they know, Sebastian." she smiles to that. The curtains on the windows are still drawn, so there's no glare off the reflective surfaces. Thank goodness.

"Is Bear a service dog?" she asks Samuel.

"I'm glad that everyone has been enjoying the campus. As I was telling Sebastian earlier, if anyone asks, we are just a regular high school. No talk of powers or anything else really." she states. "I know it'll come up with other students, it's your choice whether you divulge it to them." she adds.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters glances at Samuel then back to Doctor MacIntyre, "Well since you've just now informed him also of mutally being gifted. I suppose he can be told also." His eyes glint though it is an understandable mistake to make assuming metas know of one another automatically.

He clears his throat, "Well everyone is uniquely gifted one way or another here at this school. Even if its just in acedemics. I've yet to meet anyone here who isn't at least a pollyglot if not also Avanced Placement anywhere else." he remarks. "I take it there are quite a few here?"

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"He is, Doctor. It should be in my file, but I suffer from PTSD and anxiety disorders that ... that would not be as manageable without Bear." Sam says it with a smile, but it's an uncomfortable one. Explaining it all in full would require him to explain things that he does not, absolutely not, want to discuss in the presence of others. Bear simply leans into his legs and shuffles a bit closer once he feels his human's stress levels rise a bit. It's okay human, I'm here. Everything is fine.

Again he looks over to Sebastian and listens to the young man speak, nodding slowly. "In that case I hope my test scores were sufficient to get me in. Up until this point, I've been home schooled." If he's in any way a metahuman, he's not letting on. In fact, the only thing that's only practically certain at this point is that he's likely here on a scholarship.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Sebastian, "I'll let you know this before hand, this is a high school for metahumans. To the public we are just a normal high school. Everyone that is a student is special in some way." she tells him. "It's not just one or two people." she adds. "Again, when it comes to speaking of powers or abilities, I will let that be up to you with the other students." she points out.

Then a look to Samuel, understanding. She doesn't ask him where he got the PTSD or anxiety disorders so young. "Yes, service animals are sometimes what keep others grounded." she admits. "And that's what faculty is here to help the students with." she smiles. "And your test scores were more than efficient, Samuel. You don't have to worry on that." she admits.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters mmmns, "I just thought of something. If there are any courses that cover multi-cultural mysticism and mystical symbology? I am in dire need of them. I mean I know there's no class on a normal campus anywhere that teaches anything close to magic... but thats something I am keen to learn about. Is there anything adjacent to that sort of study here?" he asks.

"Some of the best students I've ever met were home schooled, Samuel. I've had to compete for top of the class against several at the private school in Summerset." he says. "So no doub't you'll have no troubles keeping up."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"I'm glad to hear it, Doctor MacIntyre. I was getting a bit concerned. They told me the tests could take an hour or two, but they kept adding more tests after I was done, so I wasn't sure if I had failed and given a chance to re-sit, or being asked to take remedial tests." Sam's hand is almost automatically stroking through Bear's fur, and the Shepherd doesn't seem to mind at all. Quit the contrary.

Again a nod to Sebastian. "To be fair, I've never had to compete with anyone on an intellectual level before." That is certainly true, if perhaps not in the way most people imagine. "That means I don't know exactly where I stand, although I do hope to take up Robotics, High Energy Physics and Chemistry. I think that originally the plan for me was to attend MIT, but that would require travel out of the state."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan ponders that for a moment and then shakes her head, "We do not teach magic here as of yet. Even if we have a Master of the Mystic Arts on staff." she states. "Are you looking to learn more about magic or actually practice to use magic?" she asks him. "I'm sure we can find someone to run a class on it or Magics in general though." she adds with a smile.

"I was private school most of my life due to medical issues until I went to college at Harvard, so it's understandable." she comments. "And we like to think that the school is not a competition. It's going to let people work together and to build relationships and things." she smiles. "Chemistry and things we can definetly get you into." she nods. "Have you thought of the satellite courses that MIT offers?" she asks Samuel.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters mmmns thoughtfully, "I'd like to learn about more than practice. Thats the nature of where some of my unique tallents lay. If I understand it better the better I will understand my new and enhanced self so to speak." he doesn't mention anything about a mystical instruction tablet that has been so far darn near indecipherable to him.

"To be honest I'll take as many courses as I can cram into one week of study in almost any field you offer. The more I know about everything else helps put things into perspective."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"I have." And here Sam smiles again, actually causing Bear to smile a doggy grin in turn. Either that dog is not what he seems, or these two are quite amazingly in sync. "But those classes require some kind of academic credit, and until literally a few hours ago, I have never sat a recognised standardised test. I understand competition to get into that institute is too fierce to make an exception for me, even through my sponsors."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"We'll see about getting you some information on that then." Morrigan smiles at Sebastian. "There are papers and things. I'm sure we can get some hands on experience as well." she tells him. "We'll get your schedules finalized and have them too you shortly." she tells them. Then a look to them both, "I think that meeting one on one to discuss things in your files will have to be another day. Before that happens, I want to let you know that I am not going to judge on your pasts. I would just like to be able to understand and know more about you." the Irish woman tells them.

Uh oh!

"For now...I've not eaten since about seven this morning and I am starving. Welcome to the school and if there are any issues, bring it to myself or another member of staff." she offers to that.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters stands up and offers his hand to Doctor MacIntyre, "Thank you for meeting with us today. I am looking forward to starting classes as soon as possible." he says politely. "Overachiever that I am, everything is a competition for me even if it's just against myself. Especially these days, I feel more driven than ever to understand more about the world at large and how everything works."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
The smile doesn't fade. Literally yesterday Sam was playing a verbal fencing match with someone he is pretty sure was authorised to kill him if he said the wrong thing. After that kind of pressure, dealing one on one with the head of a school, no matter how prestigious, tends to be a slightly less daunting prospect.

He stands the moment it becomes clear that the interview is over, going to attention for a moment before he catches himself and forces his posture to relax. "Thank you for your time, Doctor. I look forward to discussing all that needs to be discussed at a time you deem appropriate. Please, have a pleasant day."
