Synopsis: Agent Nolan is back on duty!
Cast of Characters: Maria Hill, Daisy Johnson, Jack Nolan, Jessica Drew

Maria Hill has posed:
The Deputy Director steps into the Medical Bay, skimming her tablet as she does. Agent Jack Nolan has been released from the medical staff to return to active duty. Really, it's just a formality for her to come down and check on the agent, but Maria Hill is a stickler for protocol.

Especially considering what put this agent into medical for the past few months. Could be a damned shame. Could be beneficial to SHIELD. Most of the information she's reading from medical lends towards the latter.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
There were a lot of reasons for Daisy to be here. To visit her friend Jems, to also have her gunshot wound looked at .., but luckily that one had been healing quite fast.. What she hadn't expected was for the deputy director to be down here. But ah well, take it in stride. And there wasn't even a Jemma to support her. But she smiled when she came into the medical bay, offering a nod of greeting.

"Good morning." She tells the gathered officers, then towards the deputy director. It was somewhat of a surprise, but also made her curious on the why of her presence here.

Jack Nolan has posed:
About two months ago on what should have been a relatively routine mission against an uncovered AIM outpost went sideways and much to his surprise, Agent Nolan somehow triggered his X-Gene that he didn't even know he had. His mutation saved the mission, but so far there hasn't seemed to be any way for him to turn it off.

So he's spent the last two months in medical, and R&D, getting poked and prodded and in some cases literally having drills stuck in him. At the moment he's sitting on a heavily reinforced medical bed, tapping one of his talons on the ground, until he spots the Deputy Director. He quickly stands up, tail knocking a tray off of the table nearby and slamming it into the wall, as he snaps to attention, "Ma'am."

Jessica Drew has posed:
Nothing like shuffling out of a cubicle in a flimsy paper gown and slippers. Medical bays have never gone for the luxury terry cloth look of spas, apparently. Jessica's frown down at her self and grab for the back flap tells anyone passing her just what she thinks of medical sartorial excellence. If she held up a card it would have a big ZERO on it.

But, of course, she turns the corner into not only a senior field agent, who fortunately she likes and admires and the Deputy Director.

"Deputy Director, Agent Johnson." She nods to them both with another grab at keeping her backside to herself. "Erm, did I make a wrong turn somewhere?"

Maria Hill has posed:
"Agent Nolan. At ease." The Deputy Director isn't, but she does grant it, her tone still the same sort of crisp bark you'd expect from a Marine, current or former. She nods to Johnson, and to Drew. "Johnson. Drew. Drew, you look like you should be in one of the medical beds."

She looks back to Agent Nolan. "How are you feeling, Agent? Medical says you're fit for duty. Do you agree with this assessment?"

Jack Nolan has posed:
"I feel perfectly fine, ma'am." Nolan replies, as he relaxes his stance, "Doctors said that elevated stress levels could trigger the X-Gene, which is most likely what happened...Though from all the tests that were done, there doesn't appear to be any way to, well, turn it off."

He does frown ever so faintly, "But besides that I've been given a clean bill of health. At least as clean as they can. Everything seems to be in better working order than even before it happened. I'm stronger and faster and practically bulletproof. I just can't really do undercover work anymore."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"What happened to you, Drew?" Daisy asks, a brow quirking up at the other Agent. "Wasn't aware of any complication with you..." she is curious.. But then her eyes trail towards Nolan. A sight one doesn't see every day. "Hey, welcome back..." she does blink once but that's pretty much the only reaction she has about the difference in the Agent. She understands well what the X-gene is and how it can lead to the .., unexpected.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Drew glances at Daisy wide-eyed, with the clear, silent question, 'I do?'.

A nurse passing through with a clipboard, stands at the doorway long enough to say, "Agent Drew, clear, get dressed, reports in your email box by tomorrow. Wait here for paperwork to sign you out."

"Nah, routine check up for, you know, us," she replies to Daisy making an inclusive gesture between the two of them. She doesn't say mutants. With a silent salute and a glance back at Nolan, she disappears behind one of the doors to dress, which she does with a speed that would put a fireman to shame. Shield uniform, jacket, pants, comfortable lace ups, all black. She listens  through the door to Nolan's report and comes out on his last sentence to seat herself, discreetly, she hopes to wait for the paperwork to release her to go back to work.

Maria Hill has posed:
If Hill has even batted a single lash at Agent Nolan's condition, there is absolutely no evidence of it. She is speaking to him /exactly/ as she would have before the incident. "Good. Then I will expect you back to active duty as soon as possible. If you need some personal leave, let me know, otherwise..." she looks at Johnson. Uh-oh. Being in the Deputy Director's line of sight when something needs to be handled is /never/ a good thing. "Johnson will help you get back into the swing of things, Agent." Boom. Voluntold, everyone's least favorite military phrase. "She has some experience with coming back to work after a genetic incident, so I'm sure she'll have great insight."

The nurse comes by with Drew's discharge paperwork, which Hill intercepts. She skims it. "Mmhmm. Hm. Drew, looks like you're back on duty as well." She hands the paperwork to Jessica, then glances to Nolan. "And I will want to see you on the range sometime next week, Agent. Let me know, I'll put a few rounds downrange with you."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Ah, well. Quake knew she should had heeded the wise words of one Jemma Simmons. Stay in your lab all the time! It worked like a mantra. But nooo, Daisy had to come here. Because getting under the director's scrutiny is always a good thing. But hey.., this assignment is not a bad thing actually. So she grins faintly.

"Of course." she offers a nod about ..., having experience. Then a look towards Nolan. "How long have you been away? The Triskelion never changes too much but ..., you will find a few differences, namely in that there are .., quite a few of us." she gestures between them, encompassing both Nolan and Drew.

"And you can call me Daisy."

Jack Nolan has posed:
"I probably should tell my family at some point but uh, I can break that to them when I figure out the best way to do that." Nolan replies, though when she mentions the range, he does grin a little bit, though he glances at one of his hands, "May need to get some modified weapons though, I'll have to go talk to the quartermaster."

He smiles at Daisy, though tries not to show off too many teeth when he does so, "I've been stuck in here for two months, so it'll be happy to get out and about and see what's been going on. But yeah, any insights you can offer would be appreciated."

Jessica Drew has posed:
"Ma'am, yes, ma'am. I've been given a clean slate, it would seem," Jessica replies to the director.

"Two months in sick bay," Jessica says in her clipped British accent to Nolan, shaking her head. "That's not fun, in the least." She shrugs in apology for her comment, sharing a smile with Daisy. But, being in the 'mutant' club, perhaps allows her. "I'm Jessica Drew, by the way."

Maria Hill has posed:
Hill nods to the agents. "Good, all around." She straightens the front of her uniform. "On that note-- I'll be in my office. Agents." And she turns to depart.
