A Warm Day By A Cool Pool
Date of Scene: 15 May 2020
Location: Swimming Pool / Patio Deck
Synopsis: An afternoon pool party at Xavier's
Cast of Characters: Kitty Pryde, Henry McCoy, Samuel Guthrie, Piotr Rasputin, Kurt Wagner, Roberto da Costa, Gabby Kinney, Rogue, Julio Richter, Alexis Carr

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Weather in the greater New York area is hot hot hot!" a voice on a radio coming out of an upstairs window can be heard saying. "With temperatures in the upper 80s, find a way to beat the heat and stay cool, Big Apple!"

Around the school, one of those means is going swimming, whether in Breakstone Lake or in the school swimming pool. Since the latter is temperature controlled, usually by one or more mutants practicing their powers, today Kitty has chosen the pool for beating the heat. She comes out carrying a few cooler and towel, and wearing a bikini with a wrap about her hips, and wearing a sunhat and sunglasses.

The hat is removed though as she sets her towel down on a lounge deck chair and then applies some waterproof sunscreen. She pulls out her phone, queuing up some music that connects wirelessly to the speakers around the pool area and begins playing. Her flip flops are slipped off, and the sunglasses removed as Kitty heads over to dip a toe in the water and check the temperature. "Oh, that's perfect," she says.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The music is what drew Hank to the pool. The heat was what it was, no real way for him to escape that. Swimming can help though! And with music, it means he won't swim alone. He steps out to the pool, towel over his shoulder. A smile as he spots Kitty there. A friendly wave is cast over.

"Hey there Kitty. Mind company?" He motions to the pool.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie had decided to hit the pool and live up to his name. He blasts up into the air pretty high up, and as he gets to a relatively high distance, he cuts his power and calls out "Cannonball." Yup, he is gonna make a heck of a splash.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
It's the Friday before graduation, papers and projects are checked, grades are entered and it is time to relax. Piotr has elected to take some time at the pool to relax, especially since he can not stay cooped up in the mansion all day. He steps out to the pool in dark red trunks and a Swole Patrol tank top and takes a few moments to find some familiar faces in the form of Hank and Kitty and approaches them.

"I hope I am not intruding?" He asks before he hears the cry from Sam and says, "Oh no."

Kurt Wagner has posed:
With the weather suitably glorious for a change it is extremely unlikely very many about the Mansion are going to be productive. Not on a day like this. And as there is no pressing emergency, well, why not take advantage, Ja? At least such is Kurt's mindset as he joins some of the others by the poolside. The indigo-furred mutant trundles on out towards the pool area in his swimsuit and with almost comically oversized sunglasses perched precariously on his face, pausing only when it becomes apparent that anyone standing close to the inviting waters is about to get soaked. He can take care of that all on his own, thankyouverymuch.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto wanders out onto the deck after Sam shielding his sunglasses with his arm as his friend lives up to his codename. "A little on the nose don't you think?" he calls after Sam with a laugh.

As for deck wear, Roberto's wearing some boardshorts, shades, and not much else. After all his powers run on the sun and he wants to soak up every last drop!

"Kit Kat, Professor McCoy," he greets Kitty and Hank as he moves to grab a seat on one of those deck chairs.

Kurt is not forgotten and the blue elf is given a wave from the Brazilian mutant as he settles onto the chair.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde looks up as she hears Hank approaching and addressing her. "You for the company? Always Hank!" she tells him with a bright smile that is not like the quiet, subdued demeanor she'd had so often in the wake of Genosha, bits of the girl's normal mien starting to be felt again around the school. "Kurt, Roberto, hey guys. Great weather isn't it?" she says.

"Water's perfect," Kitty adds. "Whoever's doing the heating has it just right," she says, before hearing the booming sound of Sam Guthrie's flight, and the man's hero name which is also extra appropriate for the swimming pool.

"Ack," Kitty says, rushing over to pull her chair further back from the pool so the resulting splash doesn't drench her things.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie 's feet will touch the bottom after the young man has splashed and sent water out and about, the pool may even have to refill just a bit. He comes up, and looks around at the others "And that is a proper cannonball. He does groan a bit as he swims to the side smiling.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Well, he wanted to cool off. Quick reflexes save Hank's towel, it is tossed over one of the further back chaise lounges. "Nice form, Sam." He laughs, shaking his head as the water beads on his fur. A wink to Kitty, and a nod. "Well, I was speaking for myself, but it seems to be a regular pool party." He grins.

A wave to Kurt, Berto and Piotr. "How are you fine gentlemen?" He asks, moving over to the side of the pool and dropping in. Nice and cool!

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"It's not Brazil, but it will do," Roberto says to Kitty lifting his shades to give her a wink. No, he's not one of those people where everything's better at home. "Not bad Sam, solid 9.5 from me!" he calls to his friend as he surfaces again.

As to Hank's question? "About to graduate is how I'm doing, which means I'm amazing thank you very much," he says settling back on his chair with his hands behind his head. "Just a few more days until freedom." As it was Berto had turned in all his work and was working on a major case of senioritis for his remaining time as a student.

This time it's Piotr who gets the wave as the big Russian wanders into view.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
Safely out of the splash zone, Kurt watches the water fly from a safe distance, grin on his face before resuming his trot to the poolside, raising a hand in greeting to those already gathered there. "A lovely afternoon indeed," he agrees, not slowing in the least as he approaches the side of the pool. As he steps out over the water he simply vanishes in a little inky cloud and a *bamf* before reappearing on the far side where some of the others have gathered, claiming one of the loungers and depositing his own things on it. "I figured that most of us would have decided to escape to the pool."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
The large Russian manages to mostly dodge the splash by jumping back quickly, though he cannot avoid all of it. Piotr sighs and then gives the others on the deck a wave and approaches, "Bit warm, today. Otherwise fine, just glad for a bit of a break before summer term." He looks out over the pool and shakes his head, "Hard to believe it gets even warmer."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde smiles to Piotr. "Not intruding at all. Nice big beach party. Or, pool party,' she says with a smile. "As long as Sam doesn't miss the pool and blow us all up," she says, waggling a finger over towards the man from Kentucky.

Kitty moves back towards the pool as she tells Roberto thoughtfully, "Well, it /could/ be Brazil. I mean, if you wanted to fly or teleport a bunch of us down to some Brazilian beach, I for one wouldn't say no," she says. "Though it's turning into winter there now, right? How cold does it get this time of year?" she asks.

Afterwards Kitty moves over to the diving board and does a graceful dive into the water. Coming up, she slowly makes her way over towards the shallow end, standing up and then leaning back to get her hair to lay flat.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and smirks "Like that would keep him off the beach, I bet he has a heated beach at one of the houses" He teases his friend good naturedly "Well it would make an interesting break, least we would not be chasing Lock and the Imp this time." He says propped on the side of the pool. He looks at them all, and enjoying the moment.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry McCoy grins to Berto, chuckling. "No, no where is the same as home I suppose." He says, laying back in the water and floating. "It is days like this that make summer worthwhile, I think. Relaxing with friends, without concern for what is going on today." He murmurs, hands and feet slowly paddling to keep him afloat. "So... graduation. What then, Roberto?"

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Berto checks his LexCorp OmniWatch, "Boo, it's only 68 in Rio right now, not as cold as Piotr's homeland or anything," he says giving a wink to the Russian. "But cold enough to hold off on the Rio parties until next winter break," he says lowering his hand. "And not yet, Sam the Man, but I like your thinking, I'll have to invent one of those when I'm running the family business."

He settles back into the chair, "Going to be heading down there after grad for a few weeks, cousin's wedding, one that," he clears his throat. "Couldn't wait until better weather, if you know what I mean," he smiles and then looking to Hank. "After here? Columbia, the school not the country, just like my old man. Gonna stay here though, much better company, besides you'd all miss me too much."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Firstly, it's a toasty 37 Fahrenheit at Lake Baikal, Roberto, which is perfectly suitable," Piotr notes dryly. He grins and grabs a chair for himself. "Though I would not make too many plans, you haven't seen your Russian grades, yet. For all we know you could be stuck here another year." A snort and lean back as he puts on his sunglasses, hoping that today is not the day he gets horribly burned, despite the potent sunscreen he used.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty gives a little laugh at Roberto's allusion to the wedding's timing. "Just remember, you need to declare your shotgun in advance to get through customs," she tells him lightly. "Oh wow, Columbia? That's excellent. I'm still a bit torn on what I to do. Grad school is an option, or I could go out into the world for a job. Or, you know, stay around the school doing things," Kitty says. The latter is probably going to happen, grad school or job, anyway.

The girl gives a shake of her head and a soft chuckle towards Piotr. "No polar bear clubs in my future," she says of jumping in the water in the winter. "Well, ok, maybe if there was a sauna waiting for me a few feet away from the water." Kitty gets out of the water and goes over to the cooler. "Anyone want a soda or juice?" she asks, offering drinks around.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
Diving boards? Where he's going he doesn't need diving boards! With his stuff settled in he glances back towards the pool, discarding those novelty sunglasses for the moment along with his other things. Between one step and the next he is gone again with only that telltale sound and scent of brimstone left in his wake, reappearing a good twenty feet over the deep end of the pool. With a casual arch, he flips himself over in midair, body and twisting and spinning as he drops towards the water rapidly, unfolding himself just before hitting the surface and disappearing beneath those blue depths before remerging several moments later several feet closer to the shallow end. Giving his head a little shake, he sends water droplets flying.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie bobs a bit in the water with Kurt's dive. He looks over and says "I think I need to get into a full fledged four year program instead of the online and community stuff, I have been taking. The academy wants you to be a full time college student while your going through your training there.

Henry McCoy has posed:
A hrm from Hank, chuckling. "Juice would be wonderful, Kitty... if it's no trouble?" He asks, lifting his head from the water where he's floating. A smile at Kurt's dive. "Nice form, Kurt. Well done." A chuckle, as if the elf could be anything less than graceful!

Laying back in the water, he chuckles again. "Columbia is a good school. Quite the foundation there." He agrees.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde passes Hank a grape juice, while she gets herself a Dr Pepper. She looks over to Roberto and says, "I bet you guys have the biggest, most grand weddings too. Like something out of the movies, right, Crazy Rich Asians? I loved how the walkway flooded but not that they waded through it. I thought when it happened she was going to step on a little boat thing and be floated up to the altar," Kitty says with a soft laugh.

Kitty looks over towards Sam, shading her eyes as she took off her sunglasses before jumping in the pool. "Which academy is that, Sam? Haven't talked to you in awhile, where is it you're going?" she asks him.

The Jewish girl takes a sip of her soda and then grins as she watches Kurt's acrobatic dive. "Oh! Me, Kurt! Take me on one of those!?" she asks excitedly.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Columbia is a great school, not that I am biased or anything," Piotr's sarcasm is evident, as he speaks to Berto, "Again if you manage to graduate." The Russian nods to Kitty, "It definitely is a bit chillier than here!" The Russian grins and ponders, "Could I get a Mountain Dew, Kitty?" He stretches in his seat, "All three of your options work, though perhaps there is a little room for possibly merging a couple of them."

Piotr is caught off-guard as Kurt does his own thing and gets a few blink from Piotr who says, "Well, that was unexpected!" and follows it up with some applause. "Well done, Kurt!"

Kurt Wagner has posed:
Hey, he did grow up a performer afterall. Diving might not be quite the same as his more aerial inclinations but the principles are the same. Reaching the shallow end of the pool he rises to his feet and offers a florid little bow and a grin, refraining from teleporting again as he instead hops out of the pool, leaving little puddles in his wake as he walks over to join the crowd. "Thank you, thank you," he offers cheerfully, not bothering to collect his towel but pausing to fetch a cola for himself. "I am always up for going again and would be glad to take you with me Kitty. You just let me know how high," he says lightly. "Fine schools all to be sure. Though there is something to be said for studying overseas too," he notes. Not that he's biased either, of course.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and says "New York Police Academy." He will tell them, watching a bit at the reactions to this. Some of the other New Mutants and Alexis had been told but not a lot of others had been told of what he was considering.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Yeah, a Mountain Dew would be awesome," Roberto agrees, before looking over at Piotr. "You better be joking about my Russian grade. I paid Illy good money for those cheat sheets!" he teases. "But seriously, don't mess with me on this stuff, that's my future, man," he admonishes but only jokingly.

His attention drawn to Kurt's dive, "Definitely a 10," he calls out before looking to Kitty and Hank. "Yeah, it's definitely a great school, and close to here, which is a plus," he says, "As for you Kit Kat, I'm sure you can do whatever you want to do, what with your two degrees from Oxford and all of that."

Henry McCoy has posed:
The Beast looks over to Sam, nodding. "It's a calling to serve, Sam." He says, honestly. "Good on you. Just don't step on toes climbing to police chief." He winks. He slowly resumes his feet in the water, grinning to Kurt. <<Perhaps somewhere in Germany, then?>> He comments, in flawless German.

Sipping his juice, he moves to rest his back at the edge of the pool. "All good plans. And I am sure there are things to keep people busy around here, should they decide to stay." He looks to Kitty.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde digs in the cooler, but pausing a moment to look up at Sam's answer. "Really? You're going to be a cop? That's great Sam," she says with a smile. "So planning to stay in the area for it, or head back to Kentucky somewhere to walk a beat?" she asks. "Or are you going to work your way towards Detective eventually?"

Kitty gets back in the cooler, pulling out a pair of Mountain Dews and tossing one to Hank and the other to Roberto. "There you go," she says as she closes up the cooler tight, and then gets all bouncy, practically prancing on her feet at the prospect of the high dive into the pool. "What's the pool depth, 15 feet, right?" she asks. "So we can probably do thirty feet with jamming our heads into the bottom. Or, having to phase through it?" she suggests, with a faint grin at the last part.

Kitty hurries over to Kurt with a bouncy step. "Ok, let's do this," she says, excitedly.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Ah was thinking about trying to work some time in Bushwick, figured they could use some folks who actually want to be there and wants the best for those in the neighborhood.

Kurt Wagner has posed:
An impish grin is flashed towards Hank and the fuzzy blue elf dips his head modestly. "There are many fine institutions in the homeland yes," he agrees before taking a long drink of his cola. Somehow a cold drink always tastes so much better on a warm, sunny day. "But I think time abroad in general can do much good. While the circumstances of my time in England were not the best, I think it did a great deal of good for me. And while home is always lovely, sometimes you must leave for a time to truly appreciate it, ja?" he suggests with an amiable smile.

But the mischief lights in those yellow eyes quickly enough again as he nods towards Kitty and her assessment of just how far they might push things. "That should be safe enough true. And I suppose it is our responsibility to promote proper pool safety," he says, the corners of his mouth twitching in something that seems far, far from a sense of the responsible.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Grades will be up at midnight," is all Piotr says with a laugh as he is now comfortable in his chair. When the topic shifts to Sam's commentary, it gets a nod from Piotr, "Well done, it is a good career, I wish you the best in that regard." "Pool depth is fifteen, I think," he shrugs and sneezes, "Chlorine, you have to love it." When the topic turns to foreign travels, the large Russian nods, "It does open your eyes, gives you a different perspective, I know that it did for me."

Henry McCoy has posed:
The mountain dew is redirected to Piotr, so smoothly it look as if he were juggling. Hank grins as he runs fingers through the hair on his head. "See the world - it's not quite a bad plan. Roberto, is of course, seeing America." A wink. "But I agree - I love gallavanting around the globe. Seeing all the cutltures of the world is fascinating." He beams. A glance then to Sam. "Brunswick, hrm? Not a bad place to start."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto grins at Piotr, "Trust me, I know," he says when the grades are going to be posted, he'll be waiting right as the clock strikes twelve.

"Definitely would love to galavant but don't have time," he says wistfully of travel. "Or at least I might not, will try to get in what I can."

Then he settles back to watch the Kitty and Kurt show.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde puts her soda aside as she goes over to Kurt. "So once we teleport, we let go of each other and each do our own things?" she confirms. She glances up in the air. "Think I'm just going to do a dive, though I'm tempted to try a somersault. Maybe do a simple one first time," she says.

She looks to the others and says, "Keep Illyana on your good side and easy to get around to see the rest of the world. Plus you have her with you if any drunken football fans try to pick a fight because they think you are wearing their rival's colors," she says with an exasperated sigh.

She looks back to Kurt then. "Ready?" she asks, ready to gently grab hold of him for the teleport.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will climb out of the pool, and moves to a lounge to watch as he replies about the career. "Alexis seems to worry more about me being a cop than a hero." He tells them "Ah figure even if only spend a couple years doing it, would be a good skil set to have with some of the things we do."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney had heard there was a pool paty going on. That wasn't something she was about to miss out on! It only took a few moments to change out of what she had been wearing into something more suitable: A t-shirt and shorts. It wasn't as if she had a very large or expansive wardrobe, even if it was getting filled more with items she was getting when Julian was out shopping. Or Warren. Or... Okay so maybe she was getting a good amount of help in the style department. Either way though, she hadn't thought to get a proper swimsuit. T-shirt and shorts it was.

She comes barreling full speed toward the pool area with a whoop of excitement. "Did I miss the fun yet!?" She demands even as she looks around. ... At all of the OLD people. Sigh. Yet again the only kid.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The blue Beast stays where he is, in the pool, back against the wall. His eyes go to Kurt and Kitty and the soon to be teleporting dive trick. "This should be good." The man grins, offer a wave to Gabby. "Afternoon! Not all the fun yet. Come on in, the water is great!"

Kurt Wagner has posed:
"If that is where your passion lies you should most definitely follow it. There's little worse then doing something that you don't care for or are even indifferent to day after day," Kurt notes cheerfully to Same before turning back to Kitty with a grin. "Quite. Don't be afraid to experiment. Worse comes to worse you can simply phase, ja?" he points out, sneaking one last sip from the can of cola in his hand before laying it aside at the edge of the patio that circles the pool.

Taking Kitty's hand he gives a little nod before lifting his gaze towards the bright blue sky above and points to where they will emerge. "Don't hesitate to take a moment to orient yourself if you need. You'll have the time, even if you decide to get creative," he assures her with that ready grin. And then they are simply not there any longer, a rapidly vanishing inky black cloud left in their wake as that customary *Bamf* sounds. And above the pool's deep end, right where the fuzzy blue elf pointed they emerge thirty feet up. At least for an instant. Then they begin to fall towards the crystal blue waters waiting for them below.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde waves to Gabby. "Plenty of fun still being had," Kitty assures the younger girl with a warm grin. She rubs her hands together. "Well, I can phase, but if it's /after/ I do a thirty foot belly flop it's a little late," she says with a grin. Though yes, she'd probably know it was going wrong in time to phase and avoid the water's impact. She's done it enough times before when it was the ground rather than the water.

Kitty takes hold of Kurt and holds her breath to avoid inhaling any of the air from the Brimstone Dimension. And then BAMF! she's suddenly standing with Kurt way up above the pool. For some there might be that moment of worry whether they are over the pool or not. But Kitty trusts Kurt from years of being on the team and teleporting with him. Plus, she's not too fearful of heights thanks to her own power.

She lets got of the blue mutant as they begin falling. Kitty lets out a whoop and swings her arms help invert her body, feet ending up over her head into a classic dive position. She holds her hands together in front of her head to break the water first, splashing down into the pool in a well-done dive.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"I bet you will," says Piotr as he catches the Dew with a little fumbling, but still manages to secure it and open it with minimal fizz. "Thanks, Hank," he takes a quick sip and nods to the arriving Gabby before turning his attention to the Bamf acrobatics that is due to ensue once the signature Bamf sound is heard, which causes him to watch until the splash, when he sets his can down and holds up nine fingers.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and waves to Gabby "soda, and juice in the cooler, not sure if Kitty has food stashed around or what not." He says laying on the lounge wearing knee length bathing shorts.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney grins as she's invited toward the pool at least. "Oh good. I usually show up at the last minute and everyone's all 'too late Gabby you missed out' and then I have to come up with something else fun for us all to do." She may be exaggerating just a little. Given the show about to begin though she just stops, and watches, with a nod toward Sam and Piotr at mention of sodas.

When Kitty comes down, goes sploosh, she claps with a loud laugh. "Oh my gosh that was awesome! Me next me next!" Of course, she doubts Kurt would... but maybe?

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank is also applauding, grinning at the showmanship. "Well done, both of you." He laughs, watching as Kitty splashes into the dive. "A unique use of your gift, Kurt... it is what you did when you were on the trapeze, correct?" He offers, nodding to Piotr. "You're quite welcome."

"There's always plenty of fun around, if you are imaginitive." A wink to Gabby. "We did have dinosaurs, before." He teases.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smirks over to gabby and says "Might get Piotr to throw you up in the air, and let ya dive into the pool from there, he has a bit of experience throwing folks.

Rogue has posed:
From the north east, very quickly, Rogue flies in and dips down out of the sky. She saw the group at the pool and adjusted her flight course, sweeping down and then dipping back up over the hedges she drops out of the air and lands on her flip-flop-wearing feet. Dressed in short cut-off jean shorts, and a bikini top hidden beneath a denim vest that is left open, her arms and legs are bare, along with everything under the vest that isn't covered by the bikini.

She walks right on across the patio after her quick and sudden landing, her eyes looking around at all the faces. "Hottest day'a the year so far, I think. I see we're puttin' it t'good use." She says then, reaching the cooler to bend over and root around inside of it, searching for a tea!

Kurt Wagner has posed:
Once they are in mid-air Kurt lets Kitty get some clearance before he *Bamfs* again back up a few feet above the descending woman -- safer that way though the pool certainly is sizable enough to give them both plenty of room. Then he too is descending after, unhesitating to indulge his inner-showman with that mid-air tumbling, somersaults and twists a-plenty before he finally folds up into a jackknife that only unfolds mere feet before he hits the water.

As he emerges from beneath the surface -- a little longer this time as the momentum takes him almost all the way to the bottom before he pushes off the ground and back to the surface -- he emerges with a little wave and a grin for the rest of the group. "Hmmmm, there is less falling with that when I do it right, but the flips and twists and somersaults are much the same," he points out with a wink, not bothering to venture down to the shallow end this time before hauling himself out. "We could could do that, though perhaps not from quite so high. Or yes, I suspect that Piotr could give you quite the loft as well," he notes to Gabby as he rejoins the group.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty comes back to the surface after the teleport-fueled thirty feet dive into the water. She's grinning and says, "Yep, I should have done the somersault!" She swims over to the side of the pool, pushing her wet hair back from her face. "Hey Rogue!" Kitty adds as she sees the new arrival. "There's sodas and juice in the cooler," she says, including Gabby in the invite.

"I didn't bring any food out, but we could grab some burgers and chicken and hot dogs and toss them on the grill if people are getting hungry," Kitty says. "I wasn't positive others would be coming out here, but... well, figured it was a good bet," she says with a grin.

Kitty pulls herself up out of the water, flutter kicking her feet to propel herself up until she can step on the concrete. She's wearing a bikini, and heads over to grab her sunglasses from where she's left them, then gets in the cooler, asking, "Who needs a drink?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank finishes his grape juice, grinning at the whole affair. "One big group of friends." He comments, in general. "This is what I live for." He starts wading to the steps out of the pool, blue fur drenched. "I can grab some grillables from the kitchen, if everyone likes?"

Henry glances around, chuckling. "Turn it into a proper pool party, then?"

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"I would rather not you," Piotr remarks sincerely, not wanting to throw a child for sport, "It is easier for me to throw in direct paths than indirect." He takes a drink and nods to Rogue as she arrives, though in a certainly unusual arrival, "It is indeed warm out, but the pool does seem to be more popular for it." The Russian shrugs and ponders a little. "Though at least everyone seems to be doing all right, all in all, a good week."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"YEsssss!" Gabby hisses with a look of hopeful excitement at the thought of either bamfing, or being yeeted. Grinning wide she glances over to Piotr trying to look her utmost innocent. "I heard you do a move with Logan called a 'Fastball Special'?" She'd heard of this from some of the others, but not really gotten any explanation as to what it was beyond the basics. So far basics sounded pretty good, too.

Glancing back to Kurt she does a little shimmy from foot to foot as she's torn between options. Yeet or port? Yeet or port? Or...

"Oh, yeah, food would be great!" She agrees without hesitation. There was never any question about that with her. Got to keep up with that metabolism. "I could do either though. I mean the height thing or the throw thing. I can go pretty high! Rachel gives me Phoenix-back rides sometimes."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue pulls a grape soda from the cooler and straightens up just as Kitty arrives all drippings with pool waters. She grins at her, then looks over to Kurt and Hank in the pool too. "I'm a graduated student now. This means I'm free t'do whatever I want all summah. This includes as many cookouts as I can attend, as many pool parties as they'll let a girl'a my talents'n'skills participate in and who knows what else." She snaps open the soda and then turns to one of the patio chairs to sit down in it, lean back and cross her legs.

She sips her soda with one hand, while the other tosses some of her hair back over a shoulder, her eyes go to Piotr and she then grins at him. "I'm doin' better than alright, Big'n'Tall." She tells the Russian fella.

At Gabby, Rogue smiles happily. "You're right. I don't think there's anything in this world you can't do, Gabs."

Julio Richter has posed:
Word gets around the school fairly fast, especially with the thinner summer crowd, and although Julio doesn't know a lot of people yet, he's not such a total stranger that nobody bothered to clue him in on the pool party that afternoon. And he had the sense to show up late enough to guarantee he wouldn't be stuck in any awkward "the party is three people and you don't know the other two" situation. Instead, he pads up the walkway from the school about a minute after Gabby does, wearing the Xavier's School gym shorts they give every student and letting his skinny upper body toast in the sun.

He's approaching just as Hank pulls himself up out of the pool, and as he hasn't met the teacher and didn't see him thanks to his natural pool camouflage, he quite literally staggers off the path in shock, slackjawed. Once his bare feet hit the grass, however, Julio seems to come to his senses. Obviously this bipedal pool-user has to be a person. Obviously no one else is freaking out. /Mutant school,/ he inwardly reminds himself. So he tries to play it casual: "Hola," he greets the soaking blue beast, voice quavering, and extends a hand. "I'm Julio? It's nice to meet you?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty grins at Hank. "Food would be amazing. Thanks Hank, can always count on you to run a grill," she says to him. Kitty recovers her Dr Pepper and tells Rogue, "So are you going to have a graduation party of your own somewhere? Or going to go with the group one," she says, the school no doubt having a big graduation party for everyone, though some may do special things with their own families.

Kitty grins over to Kurt. "Thanks Kurt, you're the bestest teleporting friend a girl ever did have," she says with a grin. She moves over to gives his cheek a quick peck, smiling at him before her attention is pulled over to the new arrival. "Don't think I've met him," she comments to the others.

"Hey Julio. Come join in. I'm Kitty," she offers. "Want a soda, or a juice?" she asks, nudging a cooler with her foot.

Henry McCoy has posed:
A little stunned by the reaction, Hank gathers his wits quickly. "Dr. Henry McCoy, nice to meet you Julio." The Beast offers over, shaking the offered hand warmly. "Waters great - I was just about to get some grilling going." He explains, looking to all the others that have joined. "Anything you want, Rogue? That's a big swath of permissions." He laughs. "I'll be right back."

With that, he lopes off towards the kitchen - shaking the water off as he goes.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie is on one of the lounges in shorts mostly dry now. He sits up, and offers a wave to Julio as he had talked with him a few times, offering a smile in greeting. He looks over to rogue "There any more tea in there?"

Kurt Wagner has posed:
It would appear that Kurt does not have quite the same reluctance to teleport students as Piotr might have to throw them. Of course, by it's nature it is a little easier to recover from an accident when you can just teleport them away again. Though not terribly pleasant given the after effects of rapidly teleporting about with the fuzzy blue elf for anyone but himself. Still, he grins at Gabby's indecision. Of course there is not exactly a time restraint. It does not appear as if the sunny, warm day is going anywhere soon.

"Food would be amazing," he agrees. All the more so if he does not have to be involved in its preparation! Retreiving his dirnk, he offers a grin and wave to the newcomers. "Indeed, join the fun," he urges before winking at Kitty. "Well, I try my best," he allows lightly.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"I doubt there's any proper tea." comes a crisp British accented voice as a dark-haired figure rounds the corner, the sometimes-visitor associate of Sam Guthrie's, one Alexis Carr, gives a slight smile as she lowers her sunglasses, looking to Sam with a bemused expresion. "I heard the commotion, thought I'd come around back and see what was going on." she states.

She's dressed in skinny jeans and a T-shirt depicting a vintage opera poster for Faust, her hair pulled back in a bun, and she's got a mesh bag over one arm with, presumably, a swimsuit.

"My apologies if I seem like I'm crashing."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"What? But it's not like it'd HURT me!" Gabby protests with a little pout of frustration at the apparent decision not to throw her. Alas. Another time perhaps. Rogue gets a grin along with a quick bobbing nod of her head in agreement. "Hey I try. Everything. Or at least I try to try everything because how will I know if it's fun or not then?" Her hands spread in a quick shrug as her logic makes perfect sense to her.

Then poor Julio arrives getting spooked by Hank. "Oh, hey Julio!" She greets with one hand shooting up to wave to him in a friendly fashion. "Come on, this is great! And you didn't lose control and use your powers so that's great too!" He had expressed he had issue controling it. Though perhaps getting startled didn't set it off.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's eyes go to Kitty again and she shrugs her shoulders from the patio chair she's leaned back in with her legs crossed. "I dunno, whatever sounds most fun, I'll be in on that." She replies before Sam gets a smirk and a headshake. "She's right." Rogue says, nodding toward Alexis when she shows up. "Only sugahry sodas'n juices in there." She says of the cooler.

"Only the best for me, Doctah McCoy!" Rogue calls out to Hank on his way to go get some food. She smiles then and sips her can of grape soda, then sets it aside onto the glass table to her right.

"Gabby, I'll throw ya, but I don't have any gloves on me at the moment, left'em down by the lake." She tells the craziest of the Kinneys! "I respect Pete'n Kurt's maturity, and responsible nature, but if we're toss'n inta the lake -- maybe more than the pool, whats the harm then?"

Julio Richter has posed:
"Dr. McCoy," Julio echoes as his hand basically disappears in Hank's. The unmistakable note of 'let the wookiee win' fades from his voice as he processes that /this/ walking carpet has a doctorate. If it's any reassurance, his reaction seemed to be more of a jump scare at a being Hank's size hopping up toward him than horror at his unusal looks.

Still, Julio seems grateful to move on, to get past the awkwardness of his rude reaction if nothing else. "Si, Soda sounds good," he answers Kitty, making his way to the cooler she indicated. He flashes her a smile, crouches, and retrieves an orange soda, cracking it with a practiced motion. When he stands, he returns Sam and Gabby's waves, chuckling at the girl's comment. "Yeah, no earthquakes today," he answers. "I'm a lover, not a fighter. Well, more of a runner and a hider than either, to be honest." A thought occurs to him, and he glances over at the pool. "I guess I could try to make a tidal wave. Those come from earthquakes, right?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and smiles. He stands and moves to hug "Alexis "Na, she is gorgeous, smart, and talented, but has horrible taste, drinks hot tea and dates me." He leans in kissing Alexis's cheek, showing the tea thing is obviously a thing with them. "Anyone who has not met her, this is Alexis my girl friend." He will go through the list "Anna Marie (Rogue), Kitty, Julio, Kurt, Pitor, Dr. McCoy Damn it a mutant nota space man, well most of the time not." He will smile "And thats Gabby, how she actually really looks."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr nods to Rogue, "Glad to know things are going all right." His attention is then drawn to Hank's comments about food, "Food does seem to be a good idea, Hank." The newer arrivals also get nods, "Greetings, I am Piotr." The Russian gives a polite wave and finishes his Dew, taking the moment to rise and dispose of it in the appropriate receptacle.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde waves towards Alexis. "I think I might have seen you before, but we didn't have a chance to meet," Kitty says, apparently remembering the rally in Bushwick for Genosha where Alexis spoke. Kitty wasn't there with the others from the school in the crowd.

She motions towards the tea. "We can probably brew so me up. But be careful, don't let the Professor hear you say that about no proper tea," she says with a grin. "Seriously, you'll be lucky to get off with a lecture about tea," Kitty adds with a soft laugh.

"Hank, I'll come help you get everything," she offers, heading inside with him. On the way, she says, "Ah... Julio... that might crack the pool open, possibly. I don't know your power though, but, just be careful?" she suggests.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Soon enough, Hank and Kitty return with hotdogs, hamburgers, cheese, condiments, chips and buns. The Beast is all grins, clearly one for a good meal. The items are set down on the table, then Hank heads over to the grill to get it started. The modern gas grill, such a handy thing. "Brought enough to feed... well, everyone." He chuckles. "Exagerated appetites like mine included." It's a school for extraordinary people, of course he takes into account the hunger of the various attendees!

"Thank you Kitty, for helping out." He grins. "Extra hands are always appreciated."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"A proper cuppa tea is steeped in boiling water for five minutes, served hot, with biscuits or a digestive. Sam seems to think this sugary item that is made from sugar, water, and a little tea extract is the real thing." Alexis replies, giving a snug to Sam as she blushes, giving small nods. "I beleive I made acquaintence with Dr. McCoy, briefly, on my last visit. Someone who holds the ire of many an angry man." she smiles kindly to Hank. "HOw do you do, Anna Marie. Kitty, I do recognize your face, do you find yourself in New York often?" she inquires, reaching to shake hands (or accept polite declines, in the case of some others!). Piotr, Good afternoon, Julio, how do you do Kurt?" she's a little hesitant with Wagner, but offers her hand to shake to him as well. "And -- stop. That child is *Gabby*?" she questions, turning to Sam a moment, her eyebrows rising up as she looks back towards Gabby.

"... I see now why the fascination with your posterior, young lady."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney grins at Julio's suggestion of attempting a tidal wave. "I think *that* might be better at the lake. Not that I'm saying 'no' of course," she's quick to assure the other teen with a solemn nod. This was an idea which bore exploring at a later point in time after all. Before she can really turn to go jump in the pool, or beg after Kurt to follow up on that idea of teleporting, Alexis snatches her attention away.

At the introduction and Alexis' surprise at who she was, she can only spread her hands in a helpless shrug. "I *know* right? I'm gonna have a great butt when I grow up at least. The family doesn't have much else going on. I mean besides the rar and grr and stuff." Yes, she actually says rar and grr.

Julio Richter has posed:
As Sam introduces the assembled mutants to his girlfriend, Julio murmurs each name in turn, trying not to make it too obvious that he's learning names himself. "Nice to meet you, Alexis," he greets her with a wave once the list is complete.

As Kitty delivers her warning, his eyes go wide. "Oh, I was joking," he clarifies in a rush. "I wouldn't-- Not when we're..." But she's already heading into the mansion with Hank. He runs a hand back through his shaggy hair, a little bit flustered, then turns to Gabby wearing an excited smile. "I did use my powers without destroying any buildings, the other day!" he tells her. It's not alarming at all that he considers that an exciting achievement.

When Hank and Kitty return, it's obvious that the food they're bringing has his attention, which is probably for the best, since he wasn't following the exchange between Gabby and Alexis at all.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty comes back out, arms full of containers full of food. She begins setting out the buns, condiments and toppings. Chips are opened and dip set out. There's a vegetable and fruit tray with ranch and other dipping sauces too. "Feel free to graze while the meat cooks," she says. "Any vegetarians want some roasted veggies?" she asks, having brought a few things that Hank can throw on the grill if there are any.

Kitty catches Julio's reaction and smiles to him. "Around here, never can be sure," she tells him. "Just best to be safe than have to repair the pool," the brunette girl says with a laugh and a wink for him.

Kitty looks around at the group. "So nice to see smiling faces that aren't full of dinosaur teeth," she comments, before moving over to recapture her soda. "Did you two get caught up in that, Sam, Alexis?" she asks. "Kurt, if you were a dinosaur and I missed it I'm going to pout."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shakes his head and saw two, but never had a change myself." He looks over to Alexis. "The prof has a thing for Earl Grey tea, he has to make it so." He shrugs a bit, and says "Glad you can make it out Berto was here earlier, but had to leave he maybe back. He was the other waiter with me at the party."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr returns to his seat after disposing of his drink, and realizes that the food is being set out, while taking a chance to walk over and gets a plate of chips to graze on and says, "Thanks Kitty and Hank, certainly wasn't expecting this!" He grins and continues to hang out near the food for a little bit, "Also yes, glad to have that behind us. It would have been very hard to paint with dinosaur hands," the Russian gestures accordingly.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Earl Grey is a good choice, though lately I've been favoring oolong." Alexis replies, and she gives a smile. "And no need to specifically brew a cuppa, Kitty, I'll be content with one of your American Soda-Pops." she jokes, digging out an orange soda and contentedly sitting in one of the seats arond the pool, looking to everyone before she looks back to Gabby. "So... your family with the 'grr' and 'rawr' -- familial resemblence in powers?" she questions conersationally to the excited girl.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney grins at Julio's excitement over his own powers working properly. "See, told you that you just need to practice." With a nod of affirmation she joins in the small line up to the cooler to pull out one of those super sugary probably going to kill someone someday sodas to crack open and take a quick chug of it as if it were water. Ah, yes. The benefits of being a teen. "I'll eat whatever you guys are grilling! Except asparagus. I was told never to do that or Laura would throw me out the window."

Alexis earns a nod as well, and she lifts up her hand toward the woman. "Yep. We've all got these--" And just as she says that she curls her fingers into a fist. A single thick bone claw splits through the back of her hand to stick straight up like some kind of dangerous middle finger. "Though they have more than me."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "The day we had the other pool party, the dinosaur that day was Gabby's sister, know that does not help a lot, as she is normally not a dino." He will move to sit beside Alexis, and looks around and to Julio, he will say "Am sure we can find a pond in the middle of no where sometime if ya want to try the tidal wave.

Julio Richter has posed:
Julio is only too happy to start grazing when invited, unleashing such destruction on the veggie tray that he might just have a promising future as a mutant terrorist. He isn't really following the talk about dinosaurs, but figures it's probably some sort of in-joke he missed the origins of, and smiles along. That expression pretty much vanishes when Gabby pops her claw. He stares at it for a second, then slowly says, "Gabby, I like you, so please don't take this the wrong way. That is... /So/ gross." His tone of voice is that specific pitch of awe that teenagers use when they've witnessed something terrible, and they're going to do everything in their power to witness it as many more times as possible. Sam distracts him, and he laughs. "Yeah, I will do my experimenting far away from the buildings," he answers, loud enough that Kitty can hear him and hopefully be reassured. "Although I was actually inside, in the Danger Room, when I had my last little breakthrough."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"... you ,mean the raptor who seemed to be eyeballing me oddly?" Alexis inquires to sam, and gives a slight wince when suddenly -- claw.

There is a claw, of bone, coming out of that child's hand, and her eyebrows go up. Her lips purse a moment then gives an appreciative nod to the girl.

"Very grr." she replies, and she holds out her closed fist a moment, palm up, and then slowly sppreads her fingers to show a little ball of fire gathered there, burning merrily in the daylight.

"Only fair that I get to show mine too, yeah?" she offers secretively.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney flashes her teeth in an impish grin of morbid delight at Julio's reaction to her display of claw. That would indeed be an area of torment. The flash of light from the flame in Alexis' hand draws her attention away with a quiet 'ooh' of appreciation at it. A quick, solemn nod is given as the exchange of powers are shown off.

"That's so cool," she offers in a hushed tone along with a broad grin. "You've gotta come to the next bonfire and we can do marshmallows and blow stuff up." It was the best past times of Summer after all.

A sip of her soda is taken only to set it down on one of the little tables that mingled around the chairs out by the poolside. It's Julio she eyes again with a sly look. "You think THAT'S gross? Fft." She turns around suddenly and ducks her head fiddling with something. When she turns again the non-claw weilding hand is held up with palm open. And she's peering at Julio through the new hole right through the middle of her hand that was likely caused by the claw in question stabbing through. "Ooga booga!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shakes his head, a bit and puts a hand on Alexis's shoulder and leans in to whisper to her. "She can also heal from most anything and seems to listen to something I heard one of her family members say in thge past "Pain don't hurt." He expects Alexis to be shocked by this and he himself is but well, a teenager who can heal that quick it is not as surprising as it could be.

Julio Richter has posed:
Julio, halfway through taking a seat to watch whatever show Gabby has in mind, isn't ready when the show actually starts. "Augh!" he shouts, as he stumbles back and grabs for the armrests. Unfortunately, he only manages to bring the folding chair with him, both chair and boy collapsing to the deck in a pratfall Buster Keaton would be proud of.

Stricken, he wriggles his way out of the folded furniture and leaps to his feet, staring and panting heavily. Finally, he breathes, "Right. Right. You don't feel pain." The same can't necessarily be said for him -- he looks green enough that he might just regret eating as much of that veggie tray as he did.

"I'm going to /not/ show mine," he says, as emphatically as he can with his dignity in tatters. "I'm already going to be working my butt off to catch up with years of missed school. I don't have time to spare for rebuilding the back deck." He selects another chair and collapses into it, leaving the one he just flattened where it lies.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Huh." Alexis gives a soft murmur, and give a soft nod as she rubs the back of her head, looking to Gabby with curiosity and awe.

"That is quite the grotesque showing. You'd be a riot in Camden." she gives a little smile as she sits down with her soda and some vegetables, looking to Julio, Gabby, and the other older mutants, before she relaxes a little bit.

"I'm afraid I've never been to a bonfire. Is that where one might make s'mores?" she questions, her eyebrows rising up.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
The hole in her hand is already diminishing in size as she gazes at Julio through it. The fall earns a little snickering laugh before she lets her hand drop away, and the claw on the other hand retract. "Okay maybe that was a bit much," she admits a bit guilty at the shock from him. "You okay? Want a hot dog? They smell about done," she has to admit as she glances over toward the grill.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over to Alexis and hmms a bit to this and says "We might have to do a camping trip, something you can come with us on Alexis, not sure how many of the newer students have had a night in the forest, it can be a relaxing or sometimes scary thing.

Julio Richter has posed:
"Sure, a hot dog sounds good," Julio answers, although his appetite isn't what it was a minute ago, for some reason. He levers himself up out of his chair and follows Gabby to the grill, loading his dog up with condiments and then taking it with him to the edge of the pool, where he takes a seat and dips his feet in. "Camping sounds like it could be fun," he says to Sam's suggestion. "I mean, it's not like we'd be far from a nice soft bed if we decided to come back inside. And you have to have a fire if you're camping! Tell scary stories, that sort of thing."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Scary stories? Peh, what kind of scary stories do you lot tell?" Alexis questions, sliding closer to the pool and taking a look in. "I've spent time in homes older than this country." she points out, with a wry grin. "Ancient, crumbling ruins with murderous Ol' Chuck, the black dogs with eyes of green fire, that when they set their gaze on ye, you're *cursed* to die a horrible death. The ancient lions o' the moor, leave nary a footprint nor bodies behind, and Jenny Greenteeth, who snatches young children and drowns them to slurp their intestestines out their belly buttons!"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney gets a hotdog that she just jams right into her mouth to munch without condiments. This apparently was the 'appetizer' hotdog because while she's chewing away on it she takes another and loads it up with mustard and some other goodies. The mention of scary stories gets her to pause though, and she juggles her plate to one hand so she can free the half-eaten hot dog to speak with the other.

"The Breakstone Slasher," she informs matter-of-fact.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie 's brow raises a bit and will let the others talk for a bit. He puts an arm around Alexis' shoulders and watches them all, seeming to be enjoying just having her here amongst friends

Julio Richter has posed:
"That sounds about right," Julio allows with a nod as Alexis runs through her list of scary premises. "Although if you're camping in the forest, you should pick a monster that lives in the woods, so people think they hear it in every weird noise for the rest of the night."

Gabby's suggestion gets a noncommittal one-shouldered shrug, as he hasn't heard that particular legend, and he answers, "Maybe! Although you can probably just poke holes in yourself and scare people that way, too."

With a chuckle, he holds up his hot dog and slides off the edge of the pool into the water, wading out without getting his food wet. "I can probably remember some of the stuff my friends used to come up with when we'd go on camping trips. And maybe by then I'll be good enough with my powers to fake heavy footsteps, like in Jurassic Park."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"An Urban legend name if I ever heard one." Alexis replies, "All right, wee one, regale us." Alexis states in challenge, looking up to Sam and giving him a small smile. Gabby didn't seem so bad. When she wasing admiring her own butt.

"I'll just have to take you to m'gran's home then and spen a night in the ruins. They say lads used to prove their manliness by staying up there, but would become possessed by the fair folk and be switched with changelings." she jokes, but she leans forward, and motions to Gabby. "But do tell me about the slasher."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Well." Gabby has to pause here with a small crinkle of her nose. "I don't know a lot of stories, honestly, just the older kids talk about it. See there's this campsite out in the woods near Breakstone Lake," she begins to explain as she gestures off in a particular direction. "And it's kind of secluded so sometimes couples head out there to spend some time alone. But if they stay out past sunset, they either don't come back or show up next morning with scratches all over saying they were chased through the woods all night." Okay she MAY be adlibbing a bit.

Julio Richter has posed:
At the mention of couples sneaking off into the woods to canoodle, Julio rubs his non-hot-dog hand on the back of his neck and looks askance at the water. "Ay. Does that happen a lot?" he asks with a grimace, taking a bite and wading a little farther out. "If there's something out in the woods, mutants should be able to deal with it, right?" He fully frowns, and the water ripples away from him for a second. "I mean, not me. I'm not good with my powers. But someone else?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
Alexis raises her eyebrows again, her lips pursing at the story as she considers, rubbing the back of her neck a moment before she speaks again.

"Not good with your powers yet, Julio." she replies a moment, rolling up her jeans and steping to the side of the pool, she dips her feet in as well.

"Very few people are hugely talented with the gifts they are given right off the bat, especially one with as much potential damage as either of ours." she points out quietly, and then she glances up at Gabby. "Well. When there's a bonfire, I'll have to be sure to keep you close by, short one. You seem fierce."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Those are the lucky ones at least. I mean, they say the slasher kills the ones that don't show up again, but who knows." Gabby shrugs a little bit and glances over to Julio with aonther shrug. "Heck if I know, I'm kind of new around here, too. I've been in the woods lots of times though. It's not that scary. Any way, it never seems to happen to groups of people at least. Jubilee and Julian and I were out there a good portion of a night having s'mores and drinks..." Oops. She quickly glances around, and takes another bite of her hot dog.

After it's gulped down she grins at Alexis with a nod. "Sure! And if I'm not tough enough we can always go to Logan's cabin. He's stronger and tougher," she explains holding her fist up again. Thankfully without the claw pop this time. "He's got three claws though and they're covered in metal so they're super sharp."

Julio Richter has posed:
"Yeah, well, I've learned a few things," Julio says, almost defensive about his inexperience. He already embarrassed himself with the chair, and he would rather not look like an idiot with his abilities on top of that. "I've been trying this... almost meditating thing? Feeling for the energy I use, listening to it, you could say. A guy named Alex gave me the idea." He shrugs his thin shoulders. "And then the next time I used my powers, I was a lot better with them."

He gives Gabby a perplexed look. "Still not good enough to go beating up real monsters, though. I don't think I've met this Logan guy... he lives in the woods and has claws? What if he's been the one chasing people around?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
"That would make more sense than a bunch of randy teens disappearing without the local group looking into it." the Brit gives a small smile, and then Alexis pulls her feet from the water, and stretches her arms.

"I think I'm going to head in and change for the pool." she smiles, tanding at ease. "Nice to formally meet your acquaintences, everyone." she states, and heads into the mansion -- likely to borrow Sam's room to chang.e

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney ffts at Julio's suggestion complete with a roll of her eyes. He knew not of what he speaks! "Don't be silly, Logan's my dad. He's usually reading a book and drinking beer in his cabin by himself when he's not working on the gardens. He's the groundskeeper here." Oh, there was more to it of course, and they were likely right, but the idea is just unfathomable!

Julio Richter has posed:
Julio finishes wolfing down the last of his hot dog and waves to Alexis. "Hasta luego!" he calls after her. Then he turns to Gabby with a funny look on his face. "You're right, what was I thinking," he says wryly. "No one related to you would ever do anything just to scare somebody." He lifts a hand and waves it at her, showing the palm that very definitely doesn't have a hole in it. Then he leans forward to swim a few laps, enjoying the summer afternoon while it lasts.
