Synopsis: Scene where Bart Allen, Sebastian Winters, Samuel Morgan, and Alexander Aaron all become best buddies.
Cast of Characters: Alexander Aaron, Bart Allen, Samuel Morgan, Sebastian Winters

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The clock is on the wall, angry, annoying. Mocking him as it refuses to tick closer to 3:30 even as the instructor continues to explain the nature of a Free Market Economy. Yet in defiance of all conventional wisdom, young Alexander Aaron just stares at it, as if trying to will it to tick faster, trying to make sure it goes on and on. He even pulls down his sunglasses some, as if maybe getting a clearer view would help.
But there's no cutting it. Those last five minutes move with a dreadful slowness. Daring to defy the God of Fear, damn you! And yet... those five minutes do pass.
The bell rings and out through the doors rush the tide of humanity. Young people moving hither and thither, heading to their lockers, to the soda machines, or just beating feet and making a break for the exits. But one sentiment rules the population in that instant.
    Freedom!
And so Alexander Aaron, dressed in his jeans and with a tactical turtleneck on, ducks around the corner and heads for his locker.

Bart Allen has posed:
Meanwhile, Bart just got out of geometry. GOD he dislikes that class. Why do you need to know about the angle in a square?! Its stupid. There is literally no situation in Bart's life where he would need to know that. But then again, he runs in circles all the time so...I guess thats applied science?

Either way, Bart seems to be right next to Alex all of a sudden. "Heeeyyyy Alex! How's it going buddy, you get into too much trouble without me again in that weird money class?" He talks -fast-, but its just his personality.

No super speed required! But it can be annoying.

Samuel Morgan has posed:
There has been a new face on campus in the last few days. That is to say, there have been many new faces, but this one showed up a few days ago and seems to do the 'school tourist' thing, in that so far nobody has actually seen him take any classes. Rumor has it he has been to Doctor MacIntyre's office today, and scuttlebutt gossip has it that he was last seen before that in an empty classroom taking tests. Dozens of them. A stack of them. One student, who will remain anonymous, seems to recall that they saw him in that classroom taking tests when they came in, and they were /still there/ during lunch, and were in fact /actually still there/ after lunch too.

Him and that dog of his. It's the dog most people will recognise first, a German Shepherd in a hi-vis jacket, who it appears goes by the name of Bear. Following this marvelous specimen of canine-hood is a teenager in a grey hoodie, a grey outfit, and immaculately polished combat boots. They seem to amble along nicely along the corridor as if they own the place, or are utterly lost.

And then the flash-mob appears when the clocks hit 3:30. Sam flings himself against the wall to get out of the way of the tide, with Bear standing in front of him as a physical barrier.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Hey, Bart." Alex is at his locker, eyebrows furrowed behind those sunglasses and is trying to push on the electronic dial of the lock, frowning as it keeps making those faint denial beeps each time he tries to enter the combo. "Man, this thing. You'd imagine with all the money they threw at this place they'd come up with locks that would freakin' work." Since it's the lock's fault and not that Alex and technology only function together by nature of detente. Another combo entered, beep, denied.
But then there's a short /crunch-click/ as the lock just seems to give way along with Alex's patience. He pulls open the door and stuffs his backpack in there, apparently not needing to do any homework. He closes the door with a /wham/ and then squeezes the lock again, making another faint crunch. There. Better that way.
He steps back, "What's on the agenda for today?" He asks of Bart, still wearing his glasses in place, affecting the 'I'm a senior and I'm so cool, I must be hungover' fashion chic with that sweater and his eyewear. But then his attention is grabbed by the dog and the dog's handler taking shelter from the flow of chattering teens. The reaction from the great God of Fear? The expression on his face there slips easily into happiness as he offers succinctly, "Aww, puppy!"
He startss heading on over toward Samuel.

Bart Allen has posed:
Because for some reason, Bart has food. Its just a bag of cheese wizzies, but he doesn't really seem too alarmed at Alex's inability to open his own locker code. "You know I can probably figure it out for you, Alex. Don't worry Double A, its crash. I know a trick for you to learn so you're not feeling the mode nearly as often when it comes to this school's tech." He teases the deity, before his attention is ultimately on Sam and his pupper.

"Well, my idea was to pretty much skip out on the next class and see whats going on with track and field. But they're so slow, sometimes I like to show 'em how much faster I am." He jokes. Hey, when you're Kid Flash, you have to showboat a little. All the same, he smirks as Alex is gushing over a dog.

"Hi guy-I-dunno, How's it hanging?"

Samuel Morgan has posed:
Eyes flicker from face to face, from teenager to teenager, as they file past oblivious of what they are walking past. Some stop to say a few friendly words to Bear, but the dog is steadfastly ignoring literally everyone except his human. Everyone coming too close gets a warning 'huff', which once or twice rises to an actual bark to those who are getting just a bit too bold. Meanwhile Sam's hands have curled into fists, and from the look on his face he's not very far away from a panic attack. It's a crowd! A crowd he wasn't expecting!

Lights in the hallway flicker for a moment until Bart comes up and actually engages Sam in conversation. The flickering stops, and the teenager looks over to the person he doesn't know. The unknown person who is trying to be friendly. Bear doesn't seem to be inclined to let Bart get closer for some reason, although he does still stand between him and his human.

"Not great. Didn't expect there were going to be this many people here. Kind of close to freaking out here..."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Sidelong to Bart, Alex says, "Nah I'm good. Maybe I'll just get a laptop and like scan in the books or something?" The young Olympian says even as he walks along further toward Samuel, "Is that like a thing? That people do?" But once he gets closer to Bean he loses all interest in further conversation for there is a puppy to be paid attention to!
"Hey, what's his name?" Alexander does the proper thing, however. Kneels down the needed distance away when the dog makes that first whuff, holds his hands out, and proceeds to wait even as the hallway continues with all the people wandering through. Though that doesn't stop Alex from chatting as it were. Since his answer to Samuel is to say, "Well yeah, it's a school."
He looks up at Samuel, then back down to the dog. "Ahhh, what a good boy. Taking care of your human. So good."

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters is coming from the offices after dropping off yet more paperwork, this time regarding his pending emancipation from his parents in the United States. He had already gone through the process once in the UK so that he could live on his own but apparently such things aren't good enough in the New Country's beurocracies.

He's a little taken aback as the halls suddenly fill with students between classes going to their lockers and various destinations. His locker is around here somewhere? He pauses in the middle of the hall, which is not something you do if you don't want to get run over, to look at a folded up piece of paper with his locker information on it.

Bart Allen has posed:
"You sure?" Bart asks Alex for a second before he shrugs and just noms on some more chips. "Its something that I do, because I'm Bart." He fingergns at Alex for a moment before he looks over at Sam with a smile. "Sorryto hear you're feelin' the mode, not crash, not crash at all. But tell you what, can you let Alex pet the dog? I can tell he's practically about to come out of his skin." He talks partially with his mouth full, which is kind of rude actually.

Either way, its meant to be asked in a polite manner. Bart has no idea Sebastian is even standing there, but he looks over at the dog. "Does he bite often?"

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"Bear... doesn't... bite." It takes effort for Sam to even get the words out, given that people are still just walking past. Is there no end to this tide? So many faces, so many possible threats... Bear retreats a bit until he's pushing against his human's legs, and Sam kneels down to wrap his arms around the Shepherd's furry neck. It seems to help calm him down. Calm enough to give a coherent response anyway.

"He's working, please let him do his job, don't distract him." It honestly surprises Sam how few people actually know the etiquette surrounding service dogs. But the message is clear: no petting, no treats. He looks again, seeing new details. And, finally, seeing Sebastian. He'd call the young man over, but... would he even be heard over this deluge of humanity?

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters looks up from his paper and spots Samuel. He smiles, "Whoah... hey man, nice seeing you and Bear again." He says walking up. He reaches down offering a hand to Samuel. Not sure if it will be taken or not considering the way he is looking right now. He recalls a mention about PTSD in the office and knows a little something about it as one of his friends faught with agoraphobia which is not easy to deal with when you're always out in the open on Archaeology digs. It has to be much the same in many ways cause that haunted look is exactly the same.

"Crowd should be dying down in a minute soon as everyone is in class." he mentions needlessly as they are already starting to thin out somewhat. "May want to talk to your teachers about letting you go from class a couple minutes early, Samuel." In passing it is noteable that he completely ignores the dog next to him other than a cursory glance.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The halls are starting to thin out now at least, with the initial wave having rushed straight for the stairs and the exits. It leaves a fraction of the student body still standing around, talking, opening their lockers. A pair of kids run down the hallway laughing as one drops a skateboard and rolllllls it down the way until he reaches the stairwell and hops off of it. Hopefully before any of the teachers spot him.
Yet Alexander lifts his gaze up toward Samuel, eyes flitting down to Bear, then back up to the man. His head tilts curiously, thoughtfully yet he gives voice to nothing more in that bare moment spent before Sebastian steps over. His nose crinkles a little as he finally contributes to the conversation on the tail end of what Winters is saying, "Or. Home schooling might be an option." He says without malice.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart looks at Alex for a second as he speaks. "Homeschooling is soooooo boring though! All you would feel is the mode. You wouldn't get to make as many friends as you would if you were going to a place like this. I probably wouldn't know you if you were homeschooled, for example just because we wouldn't even be in the same circle." He smirks abit before he looks over at Winters. "Here's hopin'!But they take fooorreeeever." Bart shakes his head, looking a little exhausted just watching everyone move.

Super Speed: Blessing and a curse.

But he tilts his head at Sam for a moment. "Working at what? Looking intimidating? Goochie goochie goo...." he waves a finger in front of Bear's face. "Dog want a chip?"

Samuel Morgan has posed:
As the crowd thins, as the sea of people flows away through the exits, Sam slowly stands up again, giving a grateful nod to Sebastian. "Thank you. It was my mistake, should have looked at the time, should have looked up student numbers. It's a reminder I should be more careful in future."

Taking a deep breath, he seems to compose himself and runs a hand through his short hair. Now that the crisis appears to be abating, Bear seems to calm down as well, and sits attentively in front of his human, looking up at the two unknown faces and grinning at the one better known face. Or smell. In Bear's case, probably both. Alexander in particular gets a happy grin, complete with fully perked up ears and lolling tongue. Bear good boy!

"Home schooling isn't an option for various reasons, I'm afraid." the teenager manages to say in an even voice, and then even manages to smile and offer a hand to Bart and Alexander in turn. "Sam. You're not seeing me at my best, I'm afraid. And Bear helps me to stay sane. It's a full time job."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Well," Alexander says as he glances over toward Bart, uncurling a hand in his direction. "Beats the alternative, right?" He says that as he shifts his weight casually to the other sneaker, taking a moment to thumb his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose. Though he does look over at Winters and adds, "He's exaggerating a little, but yah totally take forever."
That having been said when Bear perks up he gets a grin back from Alexander and a wave, "What a good puppers." He then lifts his attention back to Samuel and when it's his turn accepts the hand shake. "Alexander. Aaron. Alexander Aaron, I mean. Two first names. Super fun." His lip twitches.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters nods to Samuel and gives a half cheery salute with a couple fingers, "Name's Sebastian. I'm new here. Just got moved into town. Hey um, a working dog is at work... meaning he isn't a pet. He's trained not to take food or pettings unless given the okay first. His focus is on Sam here. Which is where it should be."

"Back to homeschool? You want him to get even further ahead than the rest of us?" he chuckles, "Nah man, make friends, have adventures, meet some girls! That crowd thing is something he'll have to get used to... challenges! Overcome them before they overcome you, am-I-right?" he says encouragingly to Sam. "Hey I'm thinking food would be a good idea right about now. You guys thinking of grabbing something or do you have late classes?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart keeps his attention on Alex for a hot second as he speaks, tilting his head at the man with a slight frown. "Usually beats the alternative, yeah." He starts tapping his foot. Pretty fast, but nothing that would scream super speed. Instead, its just an annoying tapping sound.

But he does look over at Sam for a second. "Bart. Or Bartie, Allen, Bart Allen, all crash." He extends his hand to Sam to give it a nice firm shake. "Nice to meet ya, can I call you Sammy or Sam-meister or Witwicky?"

He looks then to Sebastian. "Nice to meet ya, Seb. But listne, if either of you need anything, I'm your guy. Locker open? Check! Need some notes? Check! You just call your buddy Bart and we'll get you squared." He nods happily for that moment before he looks at the dog again.

Samuel Morgan has posed:
The hand that is being shaken is... well, rough. Calloused. The hands of someone used to hard work. "As I said, homeschooling isn't an option. Have to have actual educational credits before MIT will even talk to you." Ah. So Sam is one of those then? A true nerd finally coming out into the 'real world' because he needs the right paperwork to go to the right university. It's odd though, he absolutely doesn't seem to be that type. "Sam will do. Or Bean, if you prefer, but that's a long story."

With the crowd gone, Sam is getting far more sociable. Three people he can manage. Three hundred? Not so much. He gives Sebastian a nod. "Yeah. Challenges. One at a time, right?"

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Hey, Bart Allen is two first names too." The Olympian youth says with a sage nod, as if it were a sign of true greatness to have such. But then he shakes his head at Sebastian, "I have an obligation to attend to though it may involve eating at some point." That said he turns back to ponder Samuel again for a little bit, still seeming a touch thoughtful before he lifts a hand. "It was nice meeting you Bear." Of course the pup first, then his sunglasses lift and he nods. "Samuel." A turn, finger pointing. "Sebastian."
There, all set, he turns and lifts a hand, "Catch you guys on the flip flop or whatever." It's then that he walks over, backing into the stairwell door and then opens it with his bum before he turns and descends with the slow steps of someone who doesn't seem to run around in a hurry often.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters hears a voice whispering in his ear, it is one he has heard before. Noone else will hear it of course. It just simply says "Power!" Sebastian just blinks and looks around. Nope, not creeped out by that. Not at all. The voice doesnt return though and he gives a half shrug to himself. He then returns to the conversation at hand.

He grins, "Okay, Bart. Sure thing. I don't sleep much so if -you- need anything any time just let me know. I'm sure we can just pow-wow or whatever." He waves to Alexander as he heads off. "Bean huh? Thats a good nickname. Awesome even!" He then turns again to look at Bart he has an ear for accents and just cant place Bart's dialect. It's definitely american... but the inflections are so unusual. 'crash'? "So where is everybody from? I'm from here in New York, or from Somerset England half the time."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart gives a soft nod to Sam. Calloused, must be used to doing some kind of hard work like construction or farm labor....or really good at using their hands. Dependso n who you ask. But he tilts his head. "Oooohhh so you're a brainiac!" Bart laughs a little bit, hands on his hips. "Bean? That seems a little demeaning. Meh, I'll just call you Sam unless I meet another Sam." Well, that was a simple way of solving that.

Bart then looks on over to Sebastian as he starts lookin' around. "Everything crash, Seb?" But then it seems like he's back and offering to do the same for him. "Crash." Bart smiles and offers Sebastian a high five. But now the big question. SHIT. "Well, I'm from here in Happy Harbor actually. So when this school popped up, it was easy." Of course he fails to mention that he's from the 31st century in the future.

Way not to pulla Back to the Future.

Samuel Morgan has posed:
The sudden cry does make Sam give Sebastian a 'look', and even Bear glances over. But the canine eventually decides that nobody is there, and looks back at Alexander, raising a paw for a doggy high-five when that hand is raised. Yup, that's one very sociable animal.

"I live in town." By which Sam probably means NYC "But I spent most of my life in South Carolina and Kentucky. Born in Virginia though. We moved a lot." Now that the hallway is nearly empty, Bear decides to go and sit next to him, leaning against his legs, tail wagging.

"If you've ever got any problem getting your locker open, let me know. I'm pretty good with electronic locks. And other locks too."

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters high-fives back grinning. He nods, "Happy Harbor is a nice place. I've met a lot of great people here so far. Might say that everyone so far has been... unique in their own special way." he says. "Which is all the more... crash... is it? Awesome anyway." He says.

Sebastian nods, "Yeah, I havent traveled the colonies enough. You'd think there'd be more arcaeological dig sites here but the laws are weird... half the stuff you find have to go back to the tribes and be re-burried. Which destroys them. So... there's not a lot of incentive.... and if that doesnt make sense its because I haven't mentioned I'm an arcaeology intern during school breaks."

Bart Allen has posed:
"Nice, sounds like we all live in town!" Bart totally high fives Sebastian. "Hey! you're startin' to pick itu p. Just don't use my way of talking toom uch or I'm no longer unique." He punches Seb literally harmlessly in the shoulder. Its like if a flea landed on him.

His attention then shifts on over to Sam for a short moment with a nod. "Sounds like a great idea to me champ! Though I'm also pretty good with lockers and especially getting to places really quickly. If you need a ride, hit me uuuuup." He raises his arms in the air like he's cheering.

"A archeology intern? That sounds pretty neat. I don't know really anything about digging up old stuff though."

Samuel Morgan has posed:
Whew. Nobody asked Sam what he does or what he used to do. Bullet dodged. Possibly literally.

"You know, I've never heard anyone use that expression before? Here or further west. Guess I'm just not cool enough, huh?" A ride? Now that sounds interesting. "Oh, you have a bike? I'm looking for one to fix up, cheap if possible." But what could be more interesting than archaeology? "I think you don't get as many digs out here because there's not a lot of history people are interested in. Far as most people are concerned, history here started either at Jamestown or Plymouth rock."

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters grins, "Its like being a time traveler." he says, "Seeing how people used to live, rootin through all their stuff and noone to call the police on ya." He chuckles. "And sometimes, you find really amazing things. Most of the time though its dig... sift... dig some more... sift some more. Then you find something brush it out of the dirt, do a ton of paperwork documenting and mapping it, then box and catalogue it for preservation and study. It can be a real drag... but sometimes you find something.... that just changes your whole world."

Sebastian shrugs. "I'm using a rental car right now, but soon as that's up I'm walking everywhere. Wish I was a flyer or a speedster like those heroes you see all over the place in these parts." he says.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart looks at Sam for a second before he rubbingthe back of his neck. "Well, not exactly. Its more like a skateboard." Good excuse to say that you don't have-oh great, Sebastian is now wishing he had super speed. See, Bart has a thing about 'spoilers', so secrets is a bad thing for him. Especially when you have SUPER SPEED. But then he seems to laugh a little bit, as if uncontrollably. "Man, it would be cool wouldn't it? Feel like Superman or something." He brings his arms out and kinda sways a little bit like he's flying. "But nah, I prefer to stay on my feet. Nothing I trust more!" Because SPEED.

But then he looks at Sam as he starts talking history.

BEING FROM THE FUTURE SUCKS

Samuel Morgan has posed:
"Same. I'm used to my feet, I'm using them, until I can get a set of wheels. Flying requires a bit too much cooperation from gravity. Besides, imagine flying without a plan around you through a city like New York. You wouldn't have to smoke to get black lung."

Sam frowns for a moment and digs into his pocket, looking at his phone. It's an el-cheapo GenericBrand X, but it does seem to have some functions. Like letting Sam know he's late for something. "Guys, I'm going to have to leave you. I have some place I need to be in an hour, and I'm going to have to head back to town." Normal speed, it sucked.

Sebastian Winters has posed:
Sebastian Winters looks at his watch, "I really should go get something too to eat soo... oh man! I have to get my rent to the land lady! And to do that I have to get to the bank first!" he pulls out his Stark-phone. "Here bump phones with me and I'll give ya my number. Call me anytime!" he says offering his phone number either displayed on the screen or passed by electronic e-card.

"Nice meeting you Bart," Sebastian says,"I really do have to run though. Hey, Bean... if you need anything friend just give me a ring. Anything at all." He then looks down at Bear, "Keep taking care of this guy. You're a good dog!" he grins and waves as he starts for a nearby exit.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart gives a smirk to Sam then for a second before he tilts his head. "Yeah, I guess thats true. Everybody in this city smokes and it makes my nostrils want to die." Apparently Bart will never smoke anything. Fair enough though! But he does nod for a sec. "No worries! I'msure we'll see each other again in passing periods or at cafeteria hour or something.." He does pull out his cell phone to bump it against Sebastians to get his number. "Woah. Thats neat."

"But nice to meet you both. See ya guys later!" As soon as Bart is out of the school he is GONE.

Super speed for the win.
